I found interest in this location early January scheduled a tour & moved in by January 28th , I fell IN LOVE with the place . Not only did I love it but my daughter did which was very important to me. I was approved a few days after my application process ! We got a renovated two bedroom which is absolutely beautiful, my favorite feature is of course the breakfast bar & the open concept of the kitchen & dining area. We also have lots of storage space in the apartment.. Jennifer was extremely sweet & helpful she made this process very easy for me she has been very accommodating as well. It was my first time moving on my own & having my own place & Jennifer made it a great experience for me. I couldn't be happier. I have a hard time understanding the bad reviews because this place is great , the only issue is that's the gym is only open during the office hours .. which doesn't work well for those in the working class such as myself. But overall great place , amazing location & prices you can't beat! My unit is right next to Aldi & I love it grocery shopping hasn't been a problem & I like to go to the Dunkin' Donuts down the street in the mornings before work. I'm overall very pleased!

One of the pleasant affordable place to live in Pittsburgh. Though I moved recently I am pleased to say that the Leasing consultant Emily Barca was so amazing and helpful to get us, she has simple and perfect way of dealing with clients. Narayan

I rented from this place because of the leasing staff was very knowledgeable and upfront about everything. They took me step by step with the process and because they explained everything to me, I was very comfortable with renting from them. I received a phone call to see how my stay has been and felt that I needed to give a great review because they take the time to help and have added that personal touch to my stay here. For the price you can't beat the location being so close to everything. I definitely recommend this place because of the price point and the customer service I have received.

I moved out on August 2016 and till now (Jan 2017) I have not received my deposit payment yet. First they say that they less staff and second time they say that they had delivered to wrong address two times. Now I am still waiting for their reply via Email. I have huge email exchange with them in which it is clearly shows how irresponsible they are. NEVER NEVER think of joining this kind of residence.

This is THE WORST PLACE YOU COULD EVER LIVE! We needed to move fast and we were not familiar with the area. Now that we know the area, we have found so many other places that are 100x better! Where do I start? The whole entire building smells like cat pee and rotten food, there is absolutely no parking for the area near your building, the apartment looks like blind people renovated and painted it, their are roaches everywhere at night, the lights flicker (spoke with the office multiple times and they claimed to have "fixed" it, and people steal any type of package that is left out (neighbor got their cell phone stolen right out of the box)!! ***I am not racist by any means*** but if you love the smell of curry and little barefooted children running around this is just th place for you!!! Oh and if you want to was your clothes, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT wash them in the basement!!!!!

My husband and i just moved in here the end of November and Jennifer in the office handled everything with us. She is a wonderful person, very nice and she showed us around and went over everything. The apartment we live in is one that was newly renovated and it is beautiful, and clean. Havent met any of the neighbors but it's quiet back here. My only issue is that people who have dogs don't clean up after them so you are left with massive piles of doggy doo. I did say something to them about it and they immediately sent out letters to everyone in the building, however that doesn't deter them. But all in all so far its been a pleasant adjustment. We went from a huge 6 bdr house with lots of land to a 2 bdr apt. But we do love it.

YOU SHOULD READ THIS HONEST REVIEW. I have been a resident here for 1 year, and I can not wait to leave! There are roaches in the apartments I have complained multiple times. I am a productive member of the community and have a well paying career in Pittsburgh I'm not a bum and I am clean. But, there is no way I pay this much to live in a place with roaches. Roaches by the way are not just disgusting but also hazardous to your health! Also I have ordered packages online and I have found my packages opened and picked through, because anyone can walk into a building and steal your things. My car was towed from a parking lot that I had a permit for in my window because the complex had a contract with a towing company which is absurd. It's not a contract that protects residents it's one that harms us. My car got towed because I was waiting for a sticker in the mail and it had not arrived yet, how did they know I didn't have a sticker? Because at 2am they troll the lots with flashlights. Once my boyfriend and I witnessed this and confronted him asking what he was doing and the tow person said "I'm making bank" and while people in this community car just trying to make ends meet this complex has a contract to protect the tow company. It is absurd! Oh and the laundry that is here smells horrible and like mildew.Over all I hate this place and you would too. If these things aren't deal breakers for you at least you know first.

We have lived here for over a year. For the most part, we haven't had complaints and we haven't complained about any of our neighbors to management and have been good tenets. However, I find this to be misleading and underhanded.. When you see the prices listed on your unit that you would like to rent, keep in mind that that is, apparently, ONLY for new residents. Your rent will go up at least $50 by the time you re-enroll. While we always expect rent to go up, you expect it across the board. I find this to be misleading and false advertising on the part of management in order to screw over their residents. My wife and I were looking forward to renewing our lease, but it appears that the management of this complex does not value their residents and would rather squeeze out what they can than to ensure that they run a business of repute. I have referred others to check out these apartments, but that will no longer happen.

Avoid these roach infested dwellings at all cost! My daughter moved into the Residences of South Hills in March. She was not allowed to see her actual apartment until move in day. On move in day she saw a roach and reported it to management. They have had pest control treat her apartment regularly, but she continues to deal with an infestation. She refuses to cook in her own apartment. She has woke to fine them on her bed. Her kitchen has the biggest infestation including inside the microwave and cabinets. This is unacceptable. The apartment manager does not respond nor reply to any correspondence. She leaves everything to the assistant manager who is no help. What should be an exciting time as this is her 1st place has turned into a nightmare. My daughter suffers from anxiety due to her living conditions!

MUST READ I am a young working female, early twenties and I called this company inquiring about an apartment because I had wanted to move in by the twentieth of August. I informed them about my peculiar predicament in which I was unable to come down and view the place that they had to offer and how I would need to do everything over the phone. I was told by the person who answers the phone (when the phone is actually answered) her name is Angela, that it seems like someone was already working on my file, and that she will transfer me to this person. It appeared that the person who was working on my file was named Toneka. Now I explained my situation to Toneka and she said that she would be more than happy to help me. She told me that there was only a two bedroom available and I was willing to settle for this, despite my initial request for a one bedroom. I told Toneka that she could send me all the paperwork along with some images of the place and I will be happy to pay the deposit online. After a couple of hours passed I did not receive any word so I called back, to speak with Jamelle, because Toneka was unavailable as usual. Jamelle informed me that a one bedroom had in fact opened up and that he had pictures of it, this luck made me excited and thrilled abt my consistency and so I told him to send me the forms and from there I began my application process. After I filled everything out and emailed it back to Toneka, I did not hear any word, I actually had to basically harass her just to get confirmation that she received everything. At this point I grew more and more skeptical as time went by because now this involved my money, since I had to put money down to hold the apartment. Pressed for time and now flustered I was finally able to reach Toneka and I explained to her how inconvenient it was for me to have to constantly attempt to reach her just to get updated about the status of my application. After this she informs me about my application coming up "conditional" and how they now need to confirm my residence and my employment in order for my application to be approved. I explained to her how It made no sense. what more proof she could need if I already gave her my id, pay stubs, and money. Furious now because she claimed to have reached my employer who told me that no one called and I did not have any more time to waist. More and more time went by and I still had not heard anything from anyone and this was with me everyday calling about 3 times a day leaving messages on her voicemail.. What is crazy is that not only did they not take the time out to make me feel secure about the decision but after me calling everyday and having to constantly be transferred to her line instead of them giving me her direct line, it just showed me how unprofessional and unorganized they really are. And clearly they did not value their clients because once I gave them a cent of my money, they didn't give s damn about me. I was no longer their priority. All of a sudden on Sunday morning I get an email from Toneka congratulating me on my approval, and at that very moment I requested my money back. She played dumb in her reply, of which was the quickest reply I had received since my initial attempt to do business with them, but then when I informed her of all of the things that she had done wrong she claimed that my application didn't go through so that they will be giving me my money back. Now the only issue is where the hell is my money. I am so happy that I dodged that bullet because if that was the kind of service I received over the phone imagine what it would be like in person, or how it would be when I saw the place. I am now living in the Tuscany and this place is amazing. So this is my warning to all. DON'T DO IT! Where is it ok to take your clients money and application and not even call them with updates about the status of that application. Where is it ok for a business to ignore phone calls and refuse to answer sincere questions and concerns. When you find out please let me know. -Jeannette

This place is a dump..... They say no section 8 accepted but no one seems to work. A lot of fixed income people here that seems a bit a little mentally challenged . I've seen a guy touching himself in front of kids & standing on the street yelling . They definetly lie when you move in. Make you pay pet deposit that they keep plus pet rent . No pet park or anything special . There Are screaming kids all over this place unattended that are up late screaming & slamming doors. This place is a low life community . They fool you at the nice office they have but the buildings are terrible. The carpet in entrance stink & are stained . It's like a big getto projects that they charge a lot for this ---- hole. People get fooled by all the rules but they don't follow . They say no aggressive breeds ... This place is filled with pit bulls Ect that are often off their chain & many don't clean up after their dogs . What a disgrace this place is . I wish I would have paid cloverleaf much nicer dog community . The management here doesn't care after they get your $$$ and you sign a lease you are screwed. If you like living in the getto or a foreign country rent here . If you work & need sleep don't consider it ... A box under the bridge may be nicer & probably not infested with bed bugs & cock roaches like many tenants have . Not safe even though there is a police sub station here . Honestly they should give a 60 trial to get out of lease & deposit back . I've seen some apt boarded up , broken window & no trespassing . I would not doubt "squatters " live there . You always seem people looking homeless not showered walking all around with bags ..... I wish they would clean this place up & rent to Americans who work not foreigners who get our government help. It's conveniently located but ..... Don't be fooled by the nice business center all they care about is turning a dime .... Not sure how they do a background & credit check ... Guess it's easy when you live off the government and pretend they don't take section 8. I would say anyone decent who works & needs a nice place to live run away ..... FAST!!'

Don't move to the residents of south hills apts. It's so not worth it. They give you a parking pass for your car but they don't do anything about it when your car gets towed for no legel reason. Stains all over the carpet, kitchen was a mess, no screens in any windows. While the apts are being *fixed* they are left in looked so squatters go in & out whenever they want to. It took us like 7 or 8 months to gets a key to the laundry room that we never use b/c we have to buy a laundry card, & they never told or showed us where it was. Not that I would use it anyways. Don't waste your money on this dump.!

Would never recommend this place. The model apartment is not what you get. When talking to the sales staff we explained I could not do steps so the day we picked up the keys for the unit they assigned us we still never was taken to see it. By the time we load up our furniture and come down to our new place the office was closed and the apartment was on the top floor. Had to stay over in a hotel with a rental truck load of furniture. Even after going to the office the next morning we had to take a unit with 8 steps but I did my best to manage them. Within 4 days of moving in got up one morning to water running down the kitchen walls. The family above us had a clog kitchen sink and the lady felt her apartment but her kids were still there and one of the kids turned on the water to the kitchen sink and guess where it was going to down my kitchen wall. Had the bathroom ceiling fall in twice from water leaking through the ceiling from the people above. Roaches, bed bugs, mold and dampness are just a few of the ongoing issues. Water in the basement, mold in the basement storage area is terrible. We have had to buy a dehumidifier which runs 24/7 because of the damp mold smell. I had to go on an inhaler since moving here. Been to the ER because I couldn't breath. Will be moving out in 3 days and can't wait. You can watch at the end every month the moving trucks being loaded up and people leaving. I would tell anyone who was concerning moving here don't.

For future interested residents, Be aware that before you sign your lease or put money down for a deposit, ask to see your apartment first. Not the model one. The model that they show you is beautiful and absolutely breathe taking for the price being offered. But the apartment is completely different. Not as clean and as "new" as they say. I was shown an apartment that I thought I was going to love. The bathroom was filthy and dusty. It seemed as if nothing was cleaned. Carpets was much darker and also looked as if it wasn't cleaned. The paint was also a different color darker than the model one. Everything just didn't seem right, compared to the model that I absolutely loved. So anyways, after putting your app in and deposit down, I was called and told I was approved and Emily was trying to set up a date for me to come and sign the lease. Now without thinking I was going to sign the lease without actually seeing my apartment. I looked up the reviews on several websites and everyone basically complained of the same thing. The next day I went and voiced my concerns before actually signing the lease. That's when everything all changed. When I saw a desirable, unfitting, not impressed apartment. I quickly said I wasn't going to move in. When they asked me why I tried explains to them that it's not the same as the model. That it was much smaller, different paint job. Barely any Windows, no natural lighting (Window in living room was small and too high). The apartment also had a disgusting odor that was very distinct. I was given attuitude from both the property manager and Emily. Only person that's acted professional was the guy. He was nice but really clueless when it I asked him a lot of questions. So anyways, when I was told that I wasn't getting my money back that's when all hell broke loose. There was no way in hell that I was not getting my money back because in the app in really small prints supposedly it states that after 24hours of approval of you don't the place that your money is no longer refundable. And also argued with Emily that I was never told that before, all they could say was its in the app (but in small text). When I called to discuss this with Emily she was unprofessional and basically called me a liar without saying it. The neighborhood isn't so bad, but if you plan on moving there. Just make sure that you ask a lot of questions and ask to see your apartment before you put any money down. If they tell you it's not available until a certain date, you should still wait you till you see it. But they most likely will tell you that in order to guarantee you the apartment you have to put 300 down. My encounter with this place was by far the worst and luckily in the end I fought my way back to getting my money. I defiantly wasn't going to settle.

This place is HORRIBLE. Idiotic, Dishonest, and Incompetent Staff. I lived there for only a few months. I moved out in November of 2015. I completed my part of the end processing paperwork, signed it, handed in the keys, etc. Now, April 2016, after not living in the apartment complex for going on 5 months now, I received a RECOVERY OF REAL PROPERTY HEARING NOTICE in the mail for a Court Appearance. Apparently, the idiotic and incompetent Staff at this place never processed my paperwork for being removed from the Lease, back in November. Up to this point I have received NO NOTICE of anything from the apartment complex, yet I am being taken to Court for 2 months rent when I have not lived on premises for almost 5 full months. I moved close to 600 miles away and now reside in a different State.

This place is horrible. There is roaches and bed bugs galore!! There is drugs around every corner, I have found multiple syringes and empty stamp bags (bags that contain heroin) laying around. Unless you are nepali, you will be a minority. 80% of this place is refugees that cant read or write any english. I had to resort to locking my door at all times bc they continiously walked right in my apartment. Oh, and be forewarned if you end up with bed bugs, youre stuck with them. The way they treat for them is nothing more than a horrible pain in the --- (bagging every single item in your place for 3 weeks... and having to wash everything) then you get charged near $400, and it STILL wont get rid of them. The walls are so ridiculously thin I can hear someones phone vibrate on a dresser upstairs. The kids here have no adult supervision and have no problem hanging out in any random apartment building and being horribly loud. RUN FAR FAR AWAY!!!

In November I contacted Residences of South Hills because I was in need of an apartment. My first contact was with Megan. I spoke with her about getting a one bedroom apartment and that I wanted to 'B' floor plan because it had a nice sized walk in closet. She got that all set up and I told her I would be in on a Sunday to sign my lease. I asked her if I could see the apartment I would be in that Sunday to which she replied yes. That was her first lie to me. She did not inform me that I needed to bring anything when I went to sign my lease so I went in and Bill was the only person there. He asked me for the money orders (which no one told me about) and asked me if Megan gave me a paper explaining that I needed a money order for my prorated rent and that I needed a $60 money order for the Bureau of Baldwin. No one informed me that I needed to pay $60 to the Bureau of Baldwin either. So I retrieved the two money orders and returned back to the office and read over my lease and decided to sign off on it assuming that we would go see my apartment afterwards. I signed the lease and asked Bill to please show me to the unit I would be staying in. He apologized and informed me that they don't show apartments when there is only one person in the office because they need someone to watch the office. So I had just signed a lease to an apartment I had yet to see. I talked to Megan afterwards and she informed me that the unit she was putting me in wasn't even finished. And yet she had told me I could see it on Sunday when I signed my lease. I scheduled another time with her to go see my apartment. To my surprise it was nothing like the floor plan I thought I had signed a lease for. The reason I chose the 'B' floor was because I wanted the big walk in closet with no closet in the bedroom but that is not what I got. So I decided that it really wasn't that big of a deal and I could live with it. So I got my keys December 14th and moved some of my things in and when I tried my mailbox for the first time the keys didn't work. I asked them to fix my mailbox or get me different keys that work. It wasn't until January 4th that they fixed it and on top of that they didn't inform me that it was fixed and the new keys were waiting for me in the office so on January 19th I wrote another maintenance report to have it fixed. Theresa got back to me almost immediately and told me that she's had my new mailbox keys since January 4th! Now, on to the second time Megan has lied to me. It took until January 11th and asking for her manager's contact information to get me my lease. On top of that she was telling me that you had yet to sign the lease and that is why she couldn't send me a copy of it. On December 22nd I emailed Megan asking her if it would be easier to get out of my lease since you hadn't sign it yet. She then informed me that it had already been signed. It wasn't until I received my lease on January 11th that I saw she had lied to me. You had signed in December 28th. At this point I was livid. I had barely had my apartment a month and I had already had this many issues. It took me until the beginning of January to get my parking passes. Megan kept saying she was going to get them for me, in fact she had said it several times. Finally I went up there on another Sunday and another consultant had told me that she didn't have my passes, that I needed to sign a paper and she needed to photocopy my registration and license for me to be able to get my passes which was fine. What isn't fine is telling me you are going to get me my passes when you can't because you don't have all of the paperwork you need! I haven't even fully moved in yet. I have had so much going on that I have only been able to slowly move my things in. I will be fully moved in tomorrow. All this being said there was a smell, a putrid, retched smell in the hallway of my building for over a week. It was unbearable. If I had to describe it I would say it smelt like a dead decaying corpse that had excrement on it.

I moved here from Texas a few months ago and I absolutely love my apartment. The whole process I had to go through to get my apartment was very easy also. Everyone at the office is very nice and were really helpful with making my move easy. The maintenance is very quick at getting things taken care of too. I would recommend this place to anyone. I actually have my brother now moving from Texas to come live hear at the Residences of South Hills, and for having him come rent here I get a referral fee and money off of my rent!!

I love this place. When I first came to the Residences of South hills everyone was so nice here. The staff helped me alot with watever I needed. They have so much to offer here. I love the fact they have the workout center. Even though it's not 24 hours it's still open 7 days a week which is still very convenient for me with the hours that I work. They have alot of other free amenities too. I enjoy the fact it's quiet and so close to everything...I've enjoyed my stay here so far. Never had any problems with anything. I would recommend anybody to live here.
