      Go somewhere else. Awful. Dirty apts. don't cut the grass. Litter everywhere and staff that don't care one cent. Alex should be working at McDonald's and does nothing. Maintenance is a joke.

        We moved here in winter and it is a wooden flooring house. When we came we complained that there is a leak in the bedroom window and balcony door. You don't believe that we bought room heater in each room as the house heater does not work due to leaks at home. We complained almost number of times and no one take action. They keep saying the repair will come today or tomorrow and that today never came till date. I have 1 year old baby and she got sick almost 3 times running with high fever of 104 due to the cold temperature at home. The best thing happened today that due to the leak bedroom was filled with bucket of water due to the heavy rain outside and my husband spent whole night to clean the bedroom. The water is not stopping and finally we will end up calling emergency. I have called and met them and personally told that there is a leak and please fill but they never care about customers problems.

          Office staff were good in helping me out with most bizarre situation on moving day. Entire house is ripped off due to re modelling and is on the floor. Ceiling is removed, Kitchen in removed. Took the keys and went to the unit to find out and was surprised. Not sure what to do as the I was with moving truck. Quickly Alex came to rescue and helped me with keys for a fully furnished apartment for the time my unit is being readied. Barb and Alex personally visited the apartment and made sure that all the issues are addressed. Thanks to them. I hope this service continues in future. Over all maintenance is ok. The hall way carpets stink. They need one steam cleaning. Garages are not great. Cannot keep any boxes as rain water may flow inside garage. It is not perfect house, but good one with good community and neighborhood.

            If you're looking for a place to live in the North Hills, LOOK ELSEWHERE. The office staff will be sweet as pie and reel you in with a deal on rent, but once you sign the lease they'll refuse to answer your questions/blatantly ignore you, turn off utilities without notice when "renovating" another apartment in the building and then, if you elect to resign your lease (even for just a couple of months) they'll jack your rent up $200-250 per month. They'll also "lose" packages from time to time so don't shop online unless you're purchasing from someone who ships UPS! UPS is the only service that will deliver packages to your door - Avoiding the conniving office staff. The buildings are filthy and, ours in particular, reek of cigarette smoke. Neighbors use the hallway outlets and extension cords to avoid having to pay for electricity, leave their trash in the hallways, pile boxes and other crap on their patios and throw junk mail on the floor rather than throwing it in the trash. Maintenance doesn't clean anything up. EVER. And I'm pretty sure no one in the office says anything. I've called the office to complain several times about the trash and the cigarette butts littering our building, but nothing ever changes. The pool is disgusting, there are always tons of bugs and grossness floating around, and the lifeguards don't bother to clean it. A very high majority of the tenants don't understand how (or simply refuse) to park between the lines, or straight, despite the parking lot having recently been repaved and brand new lines painted. Our cars have been hit several times with doors because people have no regard for other's property and one of our cars was backed into, while it was parked, and damaged extensively because the driver was not paying attention. When my husband and I moved into the Woodhawk Club after a very short notice move from another state, we were working with one income and had very limited options. On our move-in day when we didn't have countertops installed yet we should have known this was a terrible decision, but the office staff played so nicely and everything else seemed fine. But after 18 months we both agree that even our college apartments were better maintained, cleaner and better managed. Unless this is your absolute last option (like it was ours), keep looking. You're better off paying slightly more to live somewhere clean, with a respectful office staff and tenants, than living in this miserable place.

The office staff is rude and tell you what you want to hear just to get you off of the phone. They will never fix anything ever. If you are considering renting here, run !!!

                Absolute worst place I have ever lived for the money. This place is almost 30 years old and it really shows if you look at places other than the clubhouse. Of course they keep that immaculate. This is the way they should advertise their "Luxury apt."..Your heating and air conditioning bills will be through the roof, because the walls are so thin. You will here every footstep in the apartment above you. All maintenance requests will be handled rudely and when they feel like it. Be ready for vandalism to your car, because there is no gated entry. You could get a garage that is falling apart, rusted and the doors don't close all the way, but that will cost you a lot of money. You can't use a grill on your porch. You can't accidently drop a piece of mail in the hallway as we will try to charge you $50 for littering... I wish that was a joke, but it isn't. The lifeguards they have at the pool, never seem to look at the pool. The siding on the buildings looks like it hasn't been spray washed in 30 years. The car wash is a hose and a garbage can, but the hose has been slashed. In my opinion, this place is about $200-$250/month overpriced..and oh by the way they are getting granite countertops in apartments, but watch for the bait and switch tactics they are using.

                  STAY AWAY!!! This is THE WORST management company I have ever experienced. ----, is very rude, a slob with his ----------- and unprofessional upkeep and ignorant. Apparently you are not able to contact the property manager unless you want to write them a letter and give it to him - to not give to the management. The upkeep of the property is horrible. The pot holes are unbearable. When asked about it, no actual answer. When there is ice on the sidewalk...it stays there. I slipped and fell on my back with a sheet of ice you could ice skate on. When I called, it was never taken care of. Maintenance is none responsive. The few times I have had them in my apartment (they are nice), they even complain about how the management has gone to hell. My blinds have fallen and broke often. Maintenance told me it's because everything in the apartment is old and out dated and that management does not want to put money into it. I called for plumbing issues...the toilet plunger was left outside my door. I tracked down the management on line after much searching, to talk about some problems I had with ---- in the office...the owner called me back and told me that ---- is never wrong (another staff member told me that ---- is his favorite and it doesn't matter what he does, the owner loves him) and that I was being a difficult resident. He, the owner, told me that if I have a problem with how things are run at the property to just leave. Really?? Last time I checked the residents are what pay your bills. Last time I checked, it is managements responsibility to take care of the property, both the apartments and the grounds. There is so much more. Just stay away. It's worth paying a little more in rent for peace of mind, a management team that cares and understands that an apartment home is your home. And a home is the most important thing to a person, outside of family.

                    Getting worse by the year. Where to start?? The Woodhawk Club continues its steady decline as the owners continue to neglect the huge problems and focus mostly on gardening. A short list off the top of my head: The pool heater is either broken or they choose not to turn it on for money reasons. When asked, the maintenance man claims that several tenants have told him that they prefer the pool cooler. This is ridiculous, as the pool is not cool, it's FREEZING as evidenced by some weekends when no one will go in the wate. The tennis courts, partially refinished but never completed have not been usable in years. The sand volleyball court JUST got the new net up last week. Of course the sinkhole in the back corner of the court that could swallow you whole is still there. The driveway is a nightmare causing real damage to vehicles. As the potholes get deeper the staff continues to plant shrubberies. The railings, steps, signage and just about anything outside is decaying rapidly. Except for the shrubberies. Those are brand new. The dumpster area looks like something you would see in a third world country. It's a disgrace. And finally, PARKING: PARKING is a NIGHTMARE. Plain and simple. It took me a YEAR to get them to tow an abandoned van in front of my apartment with 3 flat tires, and the other night I come home to a tow truck towing a Nissan from one of the makeshift parking spots we are all forced to use because there is simply not enough parking. Many of the garages are used for storage spaces or maintenance and some of the apartments are over populated ( 8 - 10 ) with middle easterners who can be seen moving mattresses from apartment to apartment. This means the Woodhawk is overpopulated by at least 20% and it shows in nearly every facet of the complex. And finally, the owners and staff of the Woodhawk seem to delight in taking any sort of fun out of living here. The gas grill provided by the complex never works, and when the tenants moved their own charcoal grill down to the pool area, instead of being appreciated it is frowned upon. In short. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE.

                      Attention Woodhawk Friends, Neighbors and Tenants, For those of you who aren't familiar, let me fill you in. Recently we had a small gathering at a local restaurant to discuss our many concerns regarding our community. It seems we all have the same complaints and they keep leading back to the office staff.I myself have been treated and spoken to in such a disrespectful manner, mainly by ----, and it seems that management really couldn't give a hoot!                         One word.....run! If you plan to live here make sure its your only place to live. Management is horrible and they try to extract every bit of cash from you. They didn't tell me that I was paying 79 cents short than my I was suppose to pay until I was trying to move out. Me and my wife cant wait to leave this hell hold. Our apartment hallways always smell terrible from the other renters that are in our building. We are very lucky if we only have to walk a half mile to our apartment from our car. There have been times where doggy poop bags have been all over the property for more than a week and management didn't clean them. Overall I wish that I never found this place on the internet and I should of stuck with places that I found on apartment suggestions. Also do not go for the 14 month lease because if you have to break your required to pay over 900 twice instead of 797(which you have been paying this whole time)

                          WORST APARTMENT EVER.. Living experience was fine. The whole community is mostly dirty and uncared for. The walls are extremely thin. The Office staff suck, especially a guy named ALEX very unprofessional. Maintenance people never show up on time. My neighbor had a water break out and no one came for 5 days to do anything. Carpet was stinking and they dint do a thing. They don't ever replace your carpet for the duration of the stay. They want your deposit on way or other. Please stay someplace else if you have an option.

                            I've lived here almost 4 years. I love my apartment and layout but the office people are horrible. Everyone that works here is lazy. Period. All the ammenities are always broken..there is no attempt to correct the broken hot tub, computers treadmill, etc. There was a rape here in Jan 2012 and since then no additional security has been installed. There is virtually no parking! My fiances package was stolen from the office..our list goes on and on. I would give this place a 3 out of 10.

                              I have been looking for an apartment in the North Hills of Pittsburgh and have found that Woodhawk Club is the best value in the market. It is very well located along McKnight Road adjacent to Ross Park Mall. It is very close to all the amenities. Very convenient to the CBD where I work. Overall, I found the property to be well maintained. I actually spoke to a number of current residents who all said that they were very happy there and were complimentary of the management. I am planning to move there in the Spring as soon as my current lease expires.

                                What happened with the office staff? That's a question that SURELY NEEDS answered!! I'll do my best to fill everyone in. If I forget anything, please feel free to add something.Let's see,where should I begin? I'll just start with the FACT that nobody knows what they're doing.If you have a question concerning ANYTHING,don't ask them.They either can't answer it,DON'T KNOW or don't CARE.They also seem to pass the buck off on someone else. That woman who sits in the ----------- is THE MOST MISERABLE human being I have ever encountered.She NEVER smiles,she's always REALLY short with you and acts like you're bothering her.(That's when and if you can get her attention.)Then there's this fellow who is rude,STUPID and plain nasty!The few times I spoke with him,he acted as though I was some sort of an idiot.(Which I certainly AM NOT!)They also seem to have a problem keeping tabs on our packages.They sign for them and put them away,how hard could it be? I don't know what criteria needs to be met to be hired on here but these two should stick with flipping burgers.

                                    The Woodhawk is an apartment complex where their philosophy is turn and burn the tenant. Most here will spend only one lease term. The reason for one lease term is for multiple reasons. The staff is rude. Maintenance calls the tenants liars right in front of the property owner, Mrs Deaktor. Mrs. Deaktor is a sweet lady, but does make her staff be responsible for their actions or behavior. The staff screams at tenants. To get a repair order done, you must complain daily for 2 months. It started out with closet doors falling off, tile from the fire place falling off, the bathroom bellowing smoke, the toilet leaking all over the floor, the popcorn bathroom ceiling falling in on you, while showering, the hot water heater bursting, the AC drain freezing and flooding the apartment causing an electrical hazard, mold growth, paint pealing, the drains clogging up, stepping in dog crap in the yard, landscapers destroying your belongings on the patio, no parking spaces available, light bulbs burning out in the hallways and never being replaced, rodents, tenants piling garbage in hallways, patios, underage drinking at the pool, ------- screaming at you put to your leashed dog in the house, no parking spaces, inconsiderate of those who are disabled, discriminative against those with disabilities, creates new policies, but does not enforce them, drug deals going down in the street, the noise from your neighbors is horrible as the walls are paper thin, the list can keep going. I recommend that you do not rent from here. This is a ---- Hole.

                                      Let's see... Where to begin. It all starts with the road driving up to the apartments... POTHOLE city! Fix the roads, the grounds look terrible, no landscaping (besides recently they just started trying to make the place look better since no one wants to live here anymore) you will definitely overpay by a ton even for the smallest apartment. You will hear yours & your neighbors pipes while ANY water is running (washer, sink, shower, dishwasher, etc.) the fans in the bathrooms don't work, there is absolutely NO ventilation in the apartments, or even the hallways themselves. Barely any cabinet space, the cabinets are also very cheap looking. Old appliances, especially the dishwasher (the worst part is that we are in one of the "newly renovated apartments." You will never get a parking space, and when you call to complain that the people parking in the spots don't have a Woodhawk parking pass, absolutely nothing is done about it. When you do actually get a space, people will park 2 inches away from you and dent your doors, or park in 2 parking spaces. There is no security to your apartment, people can just walk in your building right up to your front door any time they wish. When you do call and complain, they won't do anything to handle it, even if it concerns your safety as a tenant. The emergency after hours phone line is a false sense of security & won't do anything for you (the people answering don't even work for Woodhawk.) You will hear your neighbors above ANd below you. The walls are paper thin. As a lot of the other posters said, the hallways aren't maintained, they are filthy. They rent out garages for $50 a month that are rusted, broken, the doors don't shut, and they look terrible. With 200 apartments and tenants being overcharged paying $1000 a month, don't you think they'd fix some of these things? Since they got bad publicity earlier in the year they've been TRYING a little to make this place look better, but no real effort. Wow they changed the tanning bed bulbs for the first time in 5 years and actually mowed the grass? I'd rather buy a house with my money next time.

                                        luxury if you come from the slums. there is nothing luxurious about this place except the rent and utilities. i have formica counter tops and five dollar cabinets. i put my own carpet down. no one cleans the halls anymore since there isnt enough staff to keep up with simple maintenance. the woman who owns this place is in the office quite often. she is well aware of the plight of her tenants. PUT MONEY BACK INTO YOUR PROPERTY.

                                          Tenants keep garbage in the hallways

                                          I am staying here since last year and frequently observe tenants keeping their trash in common corridors , leaving the trash for 2 to 3 days without disposing them in the Trash bins.It becomes stinking since there is no ventilation in the passages . Tenants are not considerate for their neighbours. The owner doesn't seem to bother or take action against the tenants who do so.

                                          When I FINALLY received a PORTION of my security deposit back, we all had a great laugh in reading Woodhawk's letter. They took something like $50 for taking lint out of the dryer trap. LOL These idiots had the dryer blowing lint directly into the wall when I first moved in there! I guarantee they took $50 from the tenants before me for the same exact thing. They took another $50 or so stating we left the showers dirty. HAHA! We even took the freaking shower heads down to clean them and then put them back, that's how dirty we left the showers. Another thing I can guarantee - they took money for cleaning the showers before we got there... something the tenants before us DID NOT do... but neither did the Woodhawk club. RIP OFF CITY. They need the money more than I do apparently. They should be embarrassed. It gives me great joy every time I see someone else posting on here about the Woodhawk club. What a crap hole.

                                            YOU ARE NOT SAFE HERE!!

                                            ***FAIR WARNING IF YOU MOVE HERE YOU ARE A FOOL*** 1. THERE WAS A RAPE TAKEN PLACE HERE, a very sad incident..however do you think there was any safety precautions made afterward??? NO!!! Police patrolled until the person was caught and that was it! There were 2 fliers that were in front of our door. 1) alerting everyone about the incident, and asking for vehicle information & email information in case of an emergency should occur again. 2) asking everyone to keep their patio or balcony light on to keep the area lit. (hmmm this is what street lights are for, right?) Residents are still in fear, there are no street lights, there are no cameras, there is no security on the property, there are no locks on building doors. 2. Cameras: there are 2 maybe 3 on the property: 2 are at the garbage disposal, and 1 in the " hall" of the clubhouse going toward the gym. Do they work maybe the 2 at the dumpster. The one in the hall does not work. So the garbage is more important than those who pay $1,000 a month?? 3. Garbage: It is nothing to find trash piled up inside the compactor, on the side and the front of the building. None the less in the summer time you are going to see furry little friends at the trash too! This is embarrassing as a resident, and to all that have visitors who come to visit! There are NHL and NFL players who live in the Condos beside the Woodhawk, it is embarrassing to have them see this as well as for their visitors! Does the Owner care...no! If she did then there would be more than 1 compactor for over 400 apartments! 4. Grounds Upkeeping: This is the worst! It is nothing to find, needles, condoms,trash,dog poop, ciggaretts lying around the complex. I have not seen anyone clean this property in about a year and a half. 5. Maintence: These men are a bunch of LAZY --- MEN, that I have ever seen! They are good for sitting on their --- and getting paid for it. Lord beholds that the office swears that these guys actually work! If you put in a work order, it will take about 3 days (if not longer) to get it done. And if it does get done, then you better be ready to pick up the phone and have them come back and fix it. Because it is not going to get done the first time around. Maintence men STEAL, and if you call to report it the office can only say " i'm sorry!" but will not do anything! But yet and still once you put in a work order you will hear this "can they come in if no one is home?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME...THEY STEAL????!!!! 6. Hot Tub: when it is working properly, then it's great! But you have to CATCH it working!!! And it's probably because kids are ALWAYS in there, when they should not be! 7. Swimming pool: You might as well call this place for the drunks! The adults drinks while they tan! I have never seen a place where an adult feel the needs to drink while having their child at the pool. The Life Guards are too busy interacting with the residents that they are not watching the people in the pool! If you report this to the office, they will hear you out, however what can they do? Nothing because they are through an agency. NO RULES ARE ENFORCED; no bottle drinks, no running, no children under a certain age are to be alone and so forth!!! INSANE!!! 8.Basketball/Tennis Court: an accident waiting to happen!! There are so many cracks on this court you would think that "Spiderman" has been there! The nets (Tennis & hoop) are gone! There is no lights up there,if you wanted to play late summer nights. What once was (so I hear) a Volley ball area is now nothing but dirt. There is no where for a kid to play (grassy area) and even then you find one you have to watch out for dog poop or anything else. 9.Buildings: There are no cameras or locks in ANY of the buildings to make one feel safe! The buildings are DIRTY, the walls are very dingy, they stink, you will find cob webs in the windows, a good dusting is what is needed! "Supposily" someone get's paid to clean but who and when? The steps are lose, rails are wobbly, very dangerous!! You can hear what goes on in EVERY apartment, so there is no privacy! 10. Appliances: Well let's just say if they break down on you, good luck on getting something new! 9/10 you will get something that was out of another apartment (more than likely junk too) inhopes that it works to get by! The dryer makes HORRIBLE loud noise that you can hear thru the doors. And most of the time it does not work the first time around. The Dish washer barely cleans your dishes properly,so you have to hand wash them. The microwave is a waste. You pay a house payment here for garbage. 11. Parking: Please don't fall for the "infront of your building trash". Truth of the matter is that you are VERY BLESSED if you get a space in front of your building. There are alot of people who have to park either 2 buildings away from their building, or behind those who are parked in a space. At any given time you can drive by and see that some are parked on the side of the street. Either way it's a dangerous situation...someone can hit your car or you get hurt by not being able to park in front of your building. If you complain about the parking; you will hear " i'm sorry" or " you can buy a garage". 12. Garage: If that's what you want to call them! They are a shed, they barely work, any and everything can get inside of them, and the back part of the garage does not shut! And you have to pay $45.00 a month for these things! 13. ***WHAT YOU PAY HERE IS A HOUSE PAYMENT*** And to go thru all the crap that you get here you are better off purchasing a home! My advice to you before you rent here, please drive by different times of the day/night and get a feel for what you are getting yourself into. Hell, for what it is worth, talk to someone who is out walking (to see how they seriously like this place). The owner does not care about anything that happens here (maybe because she is old). All this poor lady care about is our $$$, if we are not speaking that then she does not want to hear it! This place is one step up from the "hood" and it's because no one feel the need to stop and care what this place really looks like. They (maintence, office, owner, house keeping) all may be nice, and sweet to your face but truth of the matter is they only care about themselves and getting a pay check. Any and everyone can be hired here, I seriously doubt that that a background check is performed on any of the employees! AGAIN SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO LIVE!!!

                                              WORST PLACE EVER! DO NOT MOVE HERE!

                                              The place is dirty. The stairways and halls are gross (blood, dead bugs ect.) The parking lot is horrible with pot holes all over and the spaces are so small that your car is always getting hit by your neighbors car doors. There are not enough spaces to accommodate the tenants. There are garages that you can rent that are more like sheds and who knows what is living in them. People let their dogs pee in the stairways so it always smells like urine. No one ever cleans up after their animals outside so you will always step in something. We lived on the 3rd floor and could hear everything from our neighbors (their shower, their tv, their radio, their conversations, EVERYTHING). The office staff sucks and never address any complaints. Our garbage disposal was leaking and we called maintenance and they said they would send someone right over. No one ever showed up (mind you we lived on the third floor so the water could have been leaking downstairs as well). We called again the next day and still no one showed up. Someone finally showed up after I had to cause a scene in the office the FOLLOWING day. Maintenance had to come to do a routine check on our furnace and after they left our furnace made and awful noise. They do not wear shoe covers on their shoes and if you ask them to take their shoes off they get an attitude. The appliances suck. Our dishwasher was so loud that we would have to turn our television waaaaay up just to hear it while the dishwasher ran. The dryer made the loudest squeaky noise that was so annoying. The fans in the bathrooms never work which made me worry about having a mold problem since there was nothing to help with the moisture in the bathrooms.The garbage area is gross and is always piling over with garbage and when i say piling i mean pouring out into the streets. It is really embarrassing if you have company come over because they will see massive amounts of garbage pouring into the road since the garbage area is right by the entrance. Don't waste your money on this place, it's the worst mistake I have ever made. For the price you pay it's absolutely ridiculous.

                                                All the negative things that were posted on this site, believe it! You have to drive & view the area to see for yourself! The only beautiful place on this property is the club house! They cant keep mgmt, the so called maintenance workers are LAZY, they steal. Do your self a favor and look else where!! One day I hope someone from the Health Dept., Buiding inspector come and do a surprise check.
