Living at Century Colonial Park Apartments has been one of the worse experiences!!! I do not recommend living here!! False fire alarms go off at least once a month. Fire alarms went off for 5 hours until 1 in the morning- fire trucks came and could not fix it and there was nothing to shut them off. Fire alarms will go off, then stop just to come on an hour later. In addition, car theft is a problem here. The apartment explains that your car parked behind the gate is safe, yet this is not true. On numerous occasions many cars have been broken into. The pool grill was left on all night and essentially was a large bonfire (instead of taking responsibility, the office blames it on tenants). No fire alarms went off during this incident but every resident was put in danger with a large fire in the middle of the apartments. Office staff was recently fired and replaced and the new staff is worse! They do not know what they are doing and do not have the knowledge of how to do books properly. It takes months for maintence to finally respond to your request, and normally they forget unless you call multiple times. Gym equipment rarely works. In additon, gates can easily be pulled open, again creating a dangerous environment for all tenants. I have never had problems living in an apartment but living here has been a nightmare!

Awful. Do NOT recommend. Major issues of every kind, including unprofessional, rude and incompetent management staff. Major issues with mail -- even if you get a delivery confirmation by UPS, Fed/Ex, USPS that packages were delivered to the office -- the staff loses your packages, or delivers it to the wrong address. Packages left at front door of "secured" building get stolen. Elevators routinely out of service, which is specially awful if it happens on your moving day. Rent invoices do not get prepared in time. Not to mention, apartments and experience are overpriced. Seriously do NOT waste your money on the "upscale" lifestyle experience Gallery 1701 is suppose to provide. It is anything but.

this is by far, the worst complex i have ever lived in. i highly suggest anyone and everyone looking at the century colonial and gallery 1701, to run! the management (although just replaced and even worse than before) do not follow requests. they overcharge for rent (i pay 2x the amount in a studio than others with 1 bedrooms) and they do not answer maintence requests quickly and hallways are invested with bugs and bees. they charge a 20 dollar "fee" when paying your rent. the parking garage is often broken into and numerous cars are vacant with crap all in them. overall, they are shady. i will never, ever, live here or recommend the complex.

This apartment complex has the RUDEST staff. The staffing changes VERY frequently, so it is obvious they have major issues. Unhelpful and very disrespectful. All of them. Not one of them is friendly. I would not recommend renting here, by any means.

My friend and I were looking for apartment around June and we found this place online and thought we would give it a try even with some bad reviews. We went in Saturday afternoon and met a guy named Jeremy I think he was great he showed us around and we liked the apartments he said it was his first day we had no idea. The girl in the office was nice she helped when we got back from the apartment I just felt I should say something positive about the two people that I met working there. Give them a shot you might like them. We did hear a train but what do you expect there is a train place down the street come on people! Common sense tells you that you might hear a train. It was no where near as bad as these drama queens make it sound!

I really loved living at Century Colonial Park until The Woodshed, a restaurant that plays live music several nights a week, opened right across the street. My apartment was clean, well-built, and quiet - I never heard from neighbors. The location is nice - near lots of restaurants, stores, and the river. I could see the Botanic Garden's fireworks every summer night from my balcony. (The apartments are not very close to a grocery store, but not too far either, which was my only complaint about location). The gym was clean, had good equipment, and was never too full. I went to a few community events put on by the complex, and they were a lot of fun and had good prizes. The view from our balcony was great. The pool was very pretty and private. We had a few maintenance issues, but they weren't terrible. Maintenance had to come several times to try to fix our balcony door, which had a gap that let in air from outside and kept our electricity bill up. The issue never really got resolved, but it was a small one. The hot water would also run out before I could fill the large garden tub with hot water, so I could never really take a bath in those great tubs. I asked for that to be fixed, but to my knowledge, no one was ever sent. If maintenance did come while no one was home, they did not leave a note and did not fix the problem. When I moved in, The Woodshed was being built. I asked the apartment employees what it was, and they told me that it would be a nice restaurant and did not mention anything about live outdoor music. Halfway through my lease, the music started. It was so loud that every single word could be heard from every room in my apartment until 10 pm on weeknights and 11 pm on weekends. It was okay at first. I'm a musician myself and like to hear new music. After a while, though, hearing the SAME sets from the SAME artists week by week got really old. The quality of the artists varied - some were great and some were just bad. The volume of the music was so loud that we couldn't even watch TV without headphones while a band was playing. The main problem, though, was that for his job, my husband had to wake up very early on weekends. Very loud music until 11 pm kept us awake on nights that we needed to go to bed much earlier. Every. Single. Night. Earplugs could not keep out the noise. Phone calls could not make it stop. The opening of The Woodshed also meant that there was no longer much guest parking, as restaurant customers parked in all of the available street parking. The Woodshed turned what was a wonderful apartment experience into a very annoying experience. We had initially planned to renew our lease because we loved where we lived, but after the opening of the Woodshed, we decided that we had to go somewhere quieter. Bottom line: if you're going to spend this much money on an apartment, spend it somewhere else, unless you like the idea of listening to lackluster local bands play the same music over and over inside your apartment.

It's fine. It's worth staying here for the location. If you want something close to town an lots of stores/restuarants, but without going to the over-priced w 7th area, it's good. It's reasonably quiet, although you can hear some train noise from nearby. Main complaints: -The laundry facilities are always either malfunctioning or completely closed down....and with no indication of when they will re-open. Just plan on bringing your own W/D or paying the extra $40/mo. to rent them. -The valet trash service is NOT optional and comes with an extra fee....and this is not disclosed on the website. It's convenient, but I'd rather save the $25/mo and take out the trash myself.

The apartment is nice, but the noise is ridiculous. We hear every step above us. We also hear all the drunken college kids screaming and blasting their music at the pool. We have spoken to management before and they don't seem to want to enforce the rules. Steer clear!! I can't wait to move out!!

I have lived here for over 2 years and it's been my most favorite apartment I've ever had. The layout of the units are great. I have never seen an apartment in this price range with such a large kitchen, bathroom and walk-in closet. This building was originally built as private condos, but was turned into apartments since the housing market was bad at the time. I think that's why these have a better design and better finishing touches. I'm in one of the units with a laundry room, and it's great to have a place to put the litter boxes that doesn't feel like they are in my living space. For the most part it has been very quiet here. I have never heard my neighbors next to me, I've only heard the people that live above me. There is train noise, since the building is located next to the large train station, but the windows block out sound pretty well, so as long as they are closed, I don't even notice the trains. The new management that took over a year and a half ago have been a huge improvement. It was a little chaotic at first, but now that everyone is settled, they have made some great improvements. They also don't raise the rent too much each year, so you can stay here and not feel like you're being forced out. They offer lots of community events and different classes and personal training in the gym. I love having parking underneath the building, it's really convenient. Utilities are reasonable, you can pay rent online, and the neighbors I've met have all been really nice. The problems I have with the building are the carpets have absolutely no stain resistance and are extremely difficult to clean if you spill something on them. The gate to the parking is broken frequently, which reduces the security of the building. I have and will continue to recommend Gallery to my friends.

Century Colonial Park (the sister apartments of Gallery 1701, across the street) are well maintained from the outside and the location offers conveniences such as shopping centers and restaurants in the near vicinity. The park is nice and their pet policy is flexible. I signed my lease for a 1BR/1BA apartment for $1090 (with W/D rental) for a 10 month lease. I overlooked the "smaller" things, such as the "nothing special" materials used inside the building, the pool being small, the termite mounds in the halls, the elevators not working from time to time (I was even stuck in one at night and had to call the fire department to get me out!!!!), and the fire alarms going off every couple of months. In the winter, we were evacuated in the middle of the night from 10 pm to 3 am because the firm alarm kept going off. All of that was bearable. The past few months, however, have been unbearable. The lack of cooperation and action on the part of the management staff in rectifying the late night noise violation from the new tenant in the upstairs apartment is inexcusable and the epitome of unprofessionalism. When the tenants upstairs moved in, they would play loud music in the middle of the night. The apartments are so poorly built, that I can hear and feel the vibrations from the ceiling as they jump up and down on their exercise machine and move things around the apartment very loudly. I hear thumps as they move things around. They also vacuum between 10 pm to midnight, and they do it repeatedly (on and off) at night. The noise level prevents me from sleeping and is hurting my health. I have called and complained on many occasions (6 separate times), yet this problem continues to happen. The new manager is so unhelpful and he really makes a point to show you that he doesn't care! He told me that noise is part of living in an apartment (this isn't just noise, it's excessive noise). I guess I will have to call the police on my neighbors, as management is inept at resolving this. His other suggestion was to let the courtesy officer in my apartment so he could evaluate the noise. My advise is to find a better place to stay if you expect to sleep at night. I can't wait for my lease to be up next month. I would NOT recommend these apartments for more than a short lease if you need a place to crash.

My wife and I stayed at Gallery 1701 for one year, and it ended up being the worst experience we have ever had. At first everything was fine, but then new management took over. Small things started to slip, for example, we lived on the 5th floor and the elevator would stop working at least once a week. So it was really great walking up 5 flights of stairs multiple times with loads of groceries. But things really got bad when we were trying to move. First of all, they raised our rent hundreds of dollars for a new lease, which we could not afford since Gallery is way over priced anyway. Second, I was driving to the office to deliver my written notice of not entering into a new lease and I called the office to tell them I was on the way and Gallery's employee told me just to drop it off after the weekend and it was no big deal. I dropped it off the beginning of the next week. When we went to move out they charged us almost $1,000 to move because we were late with out notice and so they charged us a pro-rated amount for the days that it was late. I argued with their manager for a while and eventually she got it down to only $300 that we paid, but they also kept our $375 deposit. So we lost $375, then paid them another $300 to move. When I looked at the break down of move-out expenses they charge over $100 to re-paint the apartment and tons of other fees that added up to several hundred dollars for things like wear and tear and stuff I shouldn't pay for. All in all, they stole my $375 deposit and then stole an extra $300. If you are considering being at Gallery 1701, DO NOT DO IT! AVOID GALLERY 1701 AT ALL COSTS! If you do stay there, do not expect to get your deposit back.

Great location, very convenient, nice ammenities
Worst thing about the place - the train is nearby, and can be loud. They installed thick curtains, and I bought a noise machine. Problem solved. Yes, you can sometimes hear your neighbors. It's an apartment, not a house. Be realistic. Very convenient to I-30, Trinity Trails, University, etc. Also ~5 minutes from 7th & Magnolia street areas. Layout and quality of apartment interior is superb. Parking garage is gated, so not much of a parking issue, as there are more spaces than tenants, it seems. Also, building is secure with elevators, and the interior hallways are air conditioned. Probably the nicest apartments around, without costing an arm and a leg...

The actual building and apartments are fine. Maintenance is sub par. When my wife and I were there the trash compacter would malfunction through the night which we could hear on the 3rd floor. Smelly trash would often pile up for days before it was removed. The entry gates were often broken. Security was extremely lax. Black mold formed at one point in the garage stairwell due to poor construction. They will keep your security deposit and charge you more upon move-out for things like resurfacing your bathtub. The trains are WICKED LOUD.

Great Place, Great Location!
I have lived at most of the newer properties here in Fort Worth. Gallery 1701 is by far the best. The accomodations are great. The apartments have real wood floors throughout, granite, oversized marble tubs and walk in showers. You will not find any finish outs like this in Ft.Worth for apartment style living. The location is amazing. Close to shops and restaurants. The Trinity Trail is just right out your front door. Great for people that have pets and love to run or ride bikes. The trains are everywhere in Ft.Worth. All of the other properties in the area have the trains even closer to their property than Gallery 1701. You do get used to the trains as crazy as that sounds. If you want to live in the best area of Ft.Worth then this is the place for you.

Great place with a friendly staff
This is a wonderful place to meet people in an awesome location close to shopping and away from the downtown traffic and noise. They have resident events that are a great way to meet people like I did (moved from out of state). The trains are everywhere in Fort Worth and you see it when you rent so to expect no noise is silly; it's an APARTMENT! The staff has changed out since last summer so no potty mounth manager anymore.

If you like to sleep, don't move here!
I have lived in two apartments in this complex. When I faced West, and had apartments on all sides of me, it was fine. I could hear the trains every once in a while, but my neighbor's dog was out of control! I complained to the management 3 times, and they said that others had also complained, but nothing was done about it. I moved up to the top floor and facing East and have not slept well since. First of all, there are 8 air conditioning units for the building directly above my bedroom, so every time someone's AC goes on, it wakes me up. And that's only if I have gone to sleep with the blaring train noise outside my window. The trains go ALL night long and blow their horns ALL night long (and sometimes to be "funny", they do it to the tune of music!). Then, without sufficient notice, we were told that if we wanted to renew our lease, the rent was going to go up $400! They have seriously priced themselves out of the market, as there is not an apartment complex in FW that is this expensive. We also had complained to the office that outside leading doors did not lock properly and could be letting people into the complex that could cause a safety issue. We were told that they didn't even know there were doors into the building where we were talking about!! UH?! Lastly, there is garbage, dog feces, condoms, and puke everywhere in the building. You are bound to have to step over something to get outside and/or to your car.

Colonial Park Apartments (the sister apartments to Gallery 1701)
I truly have enjoyed living in these apartments. I lived by myself while taking a semester of grad school at TCU and always felt safe and secure. The internal hallways to the apartment entrances, gated parking garage, and keyed access into any part of the complex all added to my feeling of safety. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all time. The location is superb if you will be attending TCU or want to be close to downtown. Another nice thing about these apartments is that they are pet friendly and have many areas for your pet to use the restroom. Also, since the apartments is literally next to Trinity Trails and the river you can walk your dog, exercise, or stroll daily. The exercise facilities are adequate. Overall, I have loved living here, the only reason I am even moving now is to be back home with my family in Oklahoma. Hope you give these apartments a close look...I dont think you will be disappointed.

Noise!!
I love everything about Gallery 1701 but the noise makes it not worth the amenities. I can hear neighbors doors shutting, people opening cabinet doors next to me, people above me walking. I've lived in other apartments and this one is ridiculously noisy, like living in a dorm or worse.

Great Place with Train Noise
The 1701 apts are very nice! Hallways are air-conditioned, parking is is great and secure, inside features are nice. Great demographics. However, when we had a chance to visit the place, we did not hear any trains passing by. After we moved in, we were awaken by the loud train noise in the middle of the night... in a week we got used to it, but if you are a light sleeper that might be a major problem. when you visit the place, make sure you hang around at night to hear the soothing train noise! See on the the map how many track are by the apt building.

She has a foul mouth and fails to remember that residents are in the office and can hear her YELLING PROFANITIES at her staff!!! It is really ridiculous!!!! She is the last woman you want to help you if you have any issue at all!!! Other than that if you can steer clear of her it is a really nice place to live!! Overall Happy
I've lived at Gallery for over a year now, just renewed my lease and I haven't had any issues other than when I first moved in. And they were from the building being fresh out of construction. I've read some of these reviews and honestly, I have spoken with the girls regarding them being at the Colonial office and they've said that the Gallery office is too small for all 4 of the employees. That doesn't bother me at all. I DO think that they are understaffed to manage two properties though. There are times when you have to wait in the office for up to 20 minutes if they're with someone. Maintenance is better now, they have a guy that has been here since right after I moved in, he's freindly enough. I have no issues and my rent is higher than most places around but I'm also not having to deal with TCU students so I can't complain.

just ok...
I just moved out of the Gallery apartments and was overall happy there. However, I feel like the rent was high for what I got. The elevator was SO slow!!! Note, I say elevator and not elevators. Only one elevator for the whole building. Be prepared to take the stairs or wait forever... not good if you have been shopping. Also, all of the amenities are across the street at the Colonial Park apartment. Why should I pay more in rent when the Colonial apartment have all the amenities. Even the staff office across the street. The best thing I can say about this apartment is the location and the saftey. I felt very safe there. Maybe it's worth the trade offs to be in such a secure and well located property.

insect/bug problem. overpriced, and unprofessional.
I live in the Colonial Park/Gallery community. I actually live in Colonial park, which is directly across the street from the gallery. same property mgmt/owner. While the location to this complex is great, with the trinity trail right outside, the price is outrageous for what you get. I don't mind paying a high rent, if I am treated with respect, and my issues with my apt. are handled quickly. After all, that is one of the reasons you pay more, right? I live on the first floor, facing Rogers rd, so that I can have drive up access to my door. There are scented bushes (with no walkway, even tho the mgr sold me on the apt bc of my "drive up access")right in front of my door that attract bees and wasps. I am HIGHLY allergic, and suffer serious health issues if stung. I called the office and reported this, and asked if they could please spray, or remove the scented bush from right out my front door so that I can actually go out on my patio, and walk to my car. Nothing was done. A week later, I call, and report it to ANOTHER office staff employee. Still nothing was done. 4 days later, I call back, and get the first person I complained to, and she says, "well, we can't control nature." I say, "yes, I understand that, but you can spray or remove the scented bushes right outside my door." she says, "well, what if you were on the trail and got stung? would you complain to the city or what?" i say, "no, bc i don't pay the trail $1300 a month for a 1 bedroom apt. I pay that to Colonial park, to accomedate to me and make sure I am in a home that is not a risk to my health." how rude! I couldn't even believe she said that to me. The mgr (who is actually the one who sold me on the place) gets on the phone, and takes my number and says she'll call me when they "see what they can do." that was over a week ago.. still no call. I keep a clean house in which I have a professional maid come and clean/mop/etc. top to bottom every 10 days. Last night I went to boil some water on my stove, and a roach of some sort (possibly a water roach since I live next to trinity river)comes out from under the knob on my stove. When I woke up this morning, there was one in my bath tub, and also on my bedroom wall, and living room wall. The office is supposed to open at 8am on Mondays, so I start calling... I call about 10 times between 8-10, and never get anyone on the phone. I have to drive down to the office (3 people are working in there, but none answering the phones) and tell them about the roaches I found in my apt over the last 24 hours. I assure them that my place is very clean, and that maybe they are coming from the river. she says, "well did you bring a an old box into your apt this weekend or something?" um.. NO. I just told you that my place is clean. She tells me that they can't have anyone down to spray my place til Friday, bc they only have the exterminator come once a week.. Even tho this is supposed to be one of the BEST apts in this location, and we are in texas, and it is insect/bug season. So, now I have to wait all week before I have my place sprayed for bugs, even tho they KNOW that I have seen them in every room in my brand new place. i am the first person to even live in this apt! I pay over $1300 a month for 1000 sq. feet (water/trash/sewer/etc. is extra, and changes month to month. usually around $35, but last month I had a bill for $101)! Come on, people. To be paying that much rent, the staff should be much more accomidating, and understanding. Also, the outside lights on my whole row are almost all burned out. After living in my apt for one month, none of the bulbs in my room worked. I figured there must be a short in a fuse or something, bc surely they wouldn't put old bulbs in my brand new apt.. the maintenece guy told me that they never changed any bulbs out from when they were building the place, so they were probably just all burned out. It took them 5 days to get down to my apt to change them out. The outside light burned out about a week later. I noticed that out of all the apts on the first floor facing rogers rd.(which are the pricey ones due to your "drive up access"), only 2 outside porch lights actually work, out of 10-15. The staff may be pretty and smile a lot, but they don't get the job done. Unprofessional attitude from staff, and overpriced for what you get.
