Pros Location, price, safety Cons My leasing agent Yahela Batista lied about my apt location stating I would have the meditation garden view. I have a view of I-10. She is also EXTREMELY rude!! She should be fired. Rest of the staff is polite esp Aneesha. Noise if you live on the hwy side As soon as I moved in found I had bed bugs, not convinced this was from me, believe the apt could have been infested prior.

After living here i see that the staff doesn't care about making the living environment pleasant. Dogs poop all up and down the hallways. Ive stepped in dog poop in the elevator and urine. Not only that they do they not care about the god awful odor in the hallway and that comes through the vents of your apartment. I normally don't write reviews but I love the area. Love my apartment but it all comes down to me feeling comfortable in my own space. Who wants to live in a beautiful place that smells awful? Who wants to come home from work and gag at smells coming out of air vents that could be fixed if the staff cared. I am very disappointed in this property because it is beautiful and a great area for my husband and i to get to work and our favorite restaurants but it is not worth it . I'd rather live elsewhere and not have these problemd

Beautiful and convenient, but overpriced and inflexible. Positives - The apartments and facilities are lovely. There is even a library! - I reported several leaks upon move in which were repaired the next business day. - Lots of friendly dogs. - Could not be more convenient for daily life, with a Target, Petsmart, Staples, hair salons, restaurants, etc. all within a few minutes walk. - Right on an exercise trail. Not great for running as it is paved, but that seems unavoidable in Houston. Popular amongst joggers, walkers and bikers. Negatives - The lease is ridiculously long and management is inflexible on all aspects. Make sure you get them to outline all costs before you apply because they add a bunch come lease time. Add another $75/month or so to your quoted rent. - I was told things during my visit/tour that were not true. For example, what I was told was a functional balcony is listed in the lease as a decorative item and not weight bearing. - Upon move-in my apartment was still being actively cleaned which meant that my movers arrived with my furniture when carpets were still wet. The apartment had been vacant for at least a week. - On one of my first nights there was a loud party going on in the pool area, which was broken up by security around 3am. It is generally pretty quiet. - Parking is a disaster. Assigned spots are not correlated to the floor of your apartment - I'm on 2 of 4 and my spot is on the far corner of 5 of 6, where 6 is unassigned guest spots. The speed bumps are so brutal that even at a crawl I fear for my car. Management would not consider a request to swap my spot with that of an empty apartment, instead saying "lots of people have worse spots than you". With approximately 320 apartments and me being in spot 385 of 455 that cannot be mathematically true. It takes 7 minutes to get from my apartment door to exiting the garage. That may not sound like a lot, but when you pay this much for an apartment so that you have a short commute and your own apartment adds 50% onto that commute... 7 minutes is a long time.

I have lived at Sawyer Heights Lofts for two years now and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Recently, the hallways received new carpet and paint and the amenities appear to be receiving a facelift as well. Though the place was nice before, it has gotten even better. I love the girls in the front office, they are so sweet and seem to genuinely care about making this place a home. My only complaint is that my parking spot is not on the same floor as my apartment, but that is just me being lazy after all, there are elevators in every corner. If you decide to move here you will not be disappointed.

Have lived here for a year now. I would say that the staff here are very nice, attentive, and eager to see that everyone is happy with their living situation. The location is desirable, especially if you work downtown, and also if you wish to be near some cool bars and restaurants on Washington and in The Heights. Price is probably average for location, but I still think it's a little overvalued. Please read this and bear in mind if you're set on living here: Avoid a unit that faces the pool. ESPECIALLY if you are a light sleeper, and ESPECIALLY if you wake up early and need a good night's sleep for work. This is most important for the late spring and summer months when people start to use the pool more. I'm not sure if the flaw is with the window panes or the design of the pool area creating a giant resonance trap, but it gets loud. Incredibly loud. You may be thinking, "well, that's fine if it's during the daytime." I thought the same thing when I first moved in, but no one really abides by the pool hours. Lots of people show up that don't even live here. There may be a guest limit, but it's not enforced, and neither are pool hours. I think it closes before 10pm but there will be summer nights where people are out yelling and splashing until 2am. I've even called before to report a noise complaint, and it went to a message box that told me to leave my number and someone would call me back. No one ever called back. If you're set on the location it's a decent gig, especially if you like dogs. I would just avoid those pool lofts at all cost. Maintenance guys are the best here.

Overall am content with my experience at SHL. Office staff is warm and receptive. Although I had one noise complaint that went unanswered, after several attempts it was eventually addressed. Work orders are completed in a prompt manner. Areas of improvement: The gym facilities are underwhelming. The equipment is often out of order and can use attention.

Please please PLEASE check on the smell that comes out of the vents at night! It smells so bad. I can not endure it any longer! Idk what it is but it makes my nights miserable.

The security has been good so far. I've had prompt maintenance service, and I haven't been harassed over money. The hot tub is nice, and the free coffee is lit. However, the electronic clickers are poor quality. I used to have an upstairs neighbor who would make loud thumping noises when walking around which would be quite distracting. The tubby lardo must've moved out or had a heart attack because I haven't heard the pounding in a few months, but there should be more insulation on the floors.

Going to be completely honest.... I've been living here about a year and the only complaint I have is the smell of the hallway. The smell comes through the vents of my apartment... It is the most putrid odor and it's so embarrassing when I have guests. I don't know what it is but it needs to be fixed and QUICKLY. It's almost time for me to renew my lease and I am reluctant to do so because of this odor. I know it sounds minuscule but it makes me gag and it could be a combo of things. I have seen dog poop just sitting in the hallways and trash left out for days on the weekend. But even when trash isn't out the odor is too much to bear. Management please fix this or I will have to relocate.

I have been a resident since January 2015 and so far I love living here. The location is great. The Leasing Manager Karmyn is amazing. Concerns that we have shared have been addressed for the most part and the staff is always very receptive. There is always room for improvement and I'm hopeful that improvements I've suggested will be addressed. But none the less, I love living here :)

Sawyer heights is a great place to live. The office staff is very kind and knowledgeable. If they don't know, they search for a correct answer. Granted, every place has its shortcomings (poop in the hallways not picked up by lazy pet owners), but the people in the office here actually make an effort to get things rectified. Ive seen them cleaning up after other people's pets, on hands and knees, on weekends. Very commendable in high heels and pretty dresses! Overall, this is a fantastic spot to call home. Move here! :)

This is my second year living at Sawyer Heights. I moved here under the former management company. There was an initial adjustment period after the transition until the team got their hands around the property. Now that the transition period is long ago (more than a year I think), it is smooth sailing. The staff is professional and helpful. I especially appreciate Jessica and Karmyn and actually walk my dog to visit them almost every day. Brooke the Manager is great too, but we don't see her quite as much. My only wish...that people cleaned up after their dogs (people being self centered can't be controlled and that the grass drained better toward the back of the building where the dogs play. I actually advocate dog poop DNA testing to make a point. But other than that, Sawyer Heights is a great value for a relatively reasonable price inside the loop. I live on the first floor and the stained concrete is wonderful. I live on the side of Interstate 10 and don't even hear the traffic. I don't hear my neighbor next to me and depending on what my neighbor is doing upstairs, I hear some normal apartment living thumping. That's something people need to accept if they choose to live in an apartment on the first floor. I wouldn't want to live on any other floor. Hardly ever see people in the halls, yet when you do, everyone is friendly. It's not just an apartment...it's my home!

I have lived here for 2 years now and I am very happy. The apartments are kept in great shape and the electronic package system and online rent payments make things very convenient.

Sawyer heights is a great place to live. My apartment is much larger than others in the area but the location is what really sets this place apart. I can easily walk to many restaurants/stores and anything I can't walk to is just a short drive away.

Moved in a little over a month ago and have been very happy. My moving situation was a little tricky and Karmyn helped me through the whole process so patiently. I would highly recommend living near the reflection pond it is beautiful.

After complimenting a member of the office staff, I was asked to submit a review to this site based on my experience. I was extremely surprised by the other reviews on here, and must say that my experience here as been wonderful. I would highly recommend this complex to my friends and coworkers.

I have been a resident here at Sawyer Heights Lofts for 2 years now and would like to provide a fair review of the community. I have lived here under the old and new management and must say that there is very little difference between the two. The new management, like the old, has had a few issues arise which have all been taken care of. Please allow me to list the pros and cons of living here (in my opinion). Pros: *The location is OUTSTANDING-can't be beat. *The office people have been professional and kind and have gone out of their way for me on several occasions. *The library and lounge are wonderful for anyone who works from home. *The maintenance people have been great and very expeditious with any requests that I have had (albeit, I haven't had many). Cons: *The parking is assigned and on a few occasions someone has parked in my spot overnight. *The library closes at midnight. *We were not allowed to pay our rent online for a few months when the management changed (this has since been corrected). *Inconsiderate pet owners often do not clean up after their animals. Ultimately, I will be moving out, as my dream is to purchase a home in this area, but until that happens I will be staying here quite contently.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!! My husband and I have lived here since October 2012. When the property was owned by Fein we had no issues and always had pleasant interactions with the management staff. However, Greystar suddenly took over the property last fall and things have gone downhill. The elevator in the parking garage will be out of service for weeks at a time, the stairwells are filled with pet feces, not a single one of our maintenance requests have been fulfilled, and the customer service is pathetic. There are numerous break-ins each month, and to my knowledge, there have not been any changes regarding the security of the complex. We cannot wait to move out of this overpriced and poorly run apartment!

I have lived in this building since April 2013 and had heard of all the break-ins. Unfortunately, I was a victim of the break in. I was one of 10 vehicles that one night. It cost me $300 to replace my window, and I had not left anything of value in my car. After Greystar took over management of the property, it appears that safety is not a priority. The entrance gate breaks and is not repaired for days, allowing anyone to enter. At $1700 per month for a one bedroom, it would appear that I would have a safer environment. This morning, as I was leaving the building, other cars had been broken in to. I have not heard from anyone in management that we are having these issues and/or what they are doing to improve safety.
