Manager is terrible!
The manager is very god fearing and monitors everything. She thinks that yahoo mail is bad for the environment so she blocks it on the computer in the business center. There is only one small copier in the business center and it is always out of ink or paper. A male in the community buys the material himself and just installs it in the business center. This is wrong. The manager constantly raises rent without upgrading the service. The gym and business center closed aroung 10:00pm So if you work 2nd shift don´t think about working out. Management seems nice in the begining, but when you sign your lease their attitude changes immediately. I have spoken to 4 families that just moved in and they all said that maanagement had an attitude with them before the second day. We have two tv lounges with big screen tvs. You can not drink any alcoholic beverages in the lounge or billards room, however the manager said we could before we signed the lease. She (manager) also has the nerve to ask you to stop playing pool because she can hear the balls on the table. I would not refer any one to this place. You see the perks all around, but will not enjoy them due to management. Also, if you really need a business center and rely on the computers, this would not be a great place for you. This place would be great if the rules remain the same and management treated every tenant as an adult. Also, watch out for the manager´s son. He is an adult that runs and reports every little thing. Someone saved a picture of a female in a bikini as a screen saver and the computers were down for a month because she had to search each computer. This type of behavior is crazy. I bet her excuse is that someone tried downloading porn. Also, she likes to have cars towed. A male just moved in and did not know where to park their car, she witness this and had his car towed. All she had to do was give him a temp badge for the garage. The next day she always smiles as if she is a friend. I have not seen any mice or roaches. I have heard only one person say that they saw a mouse of the first floor. The apartments are very clean. The garage has tight parking spaces and the outside parking is scarce. If you leave after the sun goes down than don´t expect to find a parking place. The people are very nice and always say hello. I am in the process of asking other people to add their thoughts to this page either good or bad. I hope this information helps.

management did a 180
I´ve lived here for about 6 months now, and I have to say that management did a 180 on us. Before we moved in she couldn´t be nicer to us. As soon as we did, she was rude, yells at people and just wasn´t availible at times. I read the review dated 3.08.04 and this person just took the words out of my mouth. When you´re signing your lease, the rules are one way, and once you´ve singed they change. I confirm that a tenant replaces the paper and ink in the computer room, because I´ve seen him do it with my own two eyes. The manager takes her time to replace those items, that is if her excuse is not " we´re over budget this month." She calls for the tow truck to tow your car, and then acts like she doesn´t know what happened. The place is very clean, very well kept and looks nice. No complaints about that. But that´s it. You can´t realy use the amenities if they all close at 10 or 11 pm.
I´m moving out as soon as this lease is up.
And like I stated earlier I fully agree with the tenant´s comments dated 03.08.04
And do whatch out for her adult son who runs and tells mommy everything.

Wonderful place to live
I´ve lived at Country Club Towers for almost 3 years, and I´ve found it to be a great place to live.

The thing I like best about living here is that it´s hassle free. I choose to pay for underground parking so I don´t ever have to worry about that, and the building doesn´t have elevator and maintenance issues that plague other buildings. It´s extremely quiet here- people that live here are for the most part, polite and courteous and don´t get in your way. As for cooking smells in the building- there are surprisingly little if you think about how many people live here- they aren´t offensive and don´t get in your apartment anyway. The hallways and common areas are always kept clean. I´ve always found the office, maintenance, and cleaning staff to be friendly and helpful. I really enjoy living here because I really don´t have to worry about anything- the only problems I can think of that I´ve ever had have been simple maintenance isues that were taken care of quickly.

Great location, decent price, power hungry staff
I just read the review in which a comment was made on the myriad aromas experienced - while humorous, I have to second those sentiments!

Life at CCT was very enjoyable until about six months ago, when the new construction was completed. Since that time, the atmosphere has been down right abrasive, and while I can almost understand the somewhat excessive attitude during my “check out” period, the rude behavior was absolutely appalling, to the point where, if I were in charge of personnel – heads would be rolling!

That said, here are my comments

Pre-construction…

- Fantastic location! Plenty of restaurants in the area, as well as several grocery stores, a few banks, a gym, even a movie theater – all within walking distance! What wasn’t within walking distance was at the most, a very short drive.

- Awesome ammenities! Even before the contruction, CCT had a lot to offer, with its swimming pool, exercise room, and social area / game room; the recent renovations have made these areas all the more exceptional. Also, each floor has a trash room and laundry room – a very nice feature when people act their age and use them properly.

- Decent price. Given what CCT has to offer, the price is quite good. Even with two parking spaces*, I was still paying less than what some other complexes were asking.

- No follow-up. Heaven forbid you should have a problem with one of your neighbors (i.e., excessive noise), because you will likely never see it resolved during your stay with CCT. I filed several noise complaints with management; instead of taking action, management essentially told me I was the one with the problem, and ignored the issue.

- Poor maintenance. This should not be confused with lack of response. The folks at CCT make every effort to assess any and all maintenance issues, and typically respond to them in very short order. However, the resulting workmanship leaves a LOT to be desired. One of my first incident reports was on the radiator cover in my apartment having so much paint on it no air could get through the vents. Instead of taking the cover to the shop, and removing the paint with paint remover, the maintenance man spent no less than two hours in my apartment chipping at the built up paint with a screwdriver, after which, I was expected to vacuum up the paint chips. Not only that, but the cover was never re-painted, so by the time I left, it was covered in rust.

Post-construction…

My entire post-construction experience can be summed up in 2½ words… personnel, and micro-management. Aside from the after-hours front desk support, which has always been dismal, the recent changing of the guard has resulted in a drastic downward spiral of attitudes. These people definitely like to feel like the masters of their domains, and waste no time in letting you know just how little you are. If it were not for the fact nothing would come of it, I would take my experiences of late up with W.R.I.T., and demand certain people attone for their actions. Were it not for one or two individuals, I would definitely recommend CCT. However, I believe in giving the customer what he/she has paid for, and I don’t recall seeing attitude in the contract.

* I don’t believe you should have had to pay to park motorcycles, as they can fit almost anywhere, but they cost extra.
So far so good
Not been here very long so don´t take my comments too seriously yet. My experience so far is the apartments are a nice size, reasonably priced and it is QUIET! Location is not bad either. I agree with other comments that management seems to be very occupied and are sometimes difficult to track down. Overall, this is a very nice place to live and hope it stays that way.

Good apt but poor management
I have been living here since the middle of the summer and have realized a few issues, some good and some bad.

The good points are that the building has large apartments and are relatively quiet (with some exceptions). The location is convenient if you do not have to take metrorail to work and because all utilities are included, the price is decent.

Also, if you love curry, you will love this building!!! (see below for faults.)

The bad parts are as follows:

Management personnel are poor and inefficient. If you catch them on a bad day (most days of the week), good luck getting things done. The rental/management office employees do not seem to think they are here for us tenants, but we are here for them. They are far from service oriented as building management should be.

The office is often slow in getting routine paper work like approving applications or giving you a copy of your lease once you move in.

Parking is bad. Get home early! (Or pay for reserved garage parking.)

You would have to get used to your neighbors, who often times do not have the same standards. Because there are many foreign tenants here, many seem to not know how to use the trash room. They seem to think you are to leave the trash on the floor instead of dropping it in the trash chute. And, even though smelling other people´s cooking can be a good thing, having the curry smell linger in the hallway day and night and having your own apartment smelling like it at 7.00am is not healthy.

Maybe these are nit-picky comments, but it is the little things that are valid when it comes to selecting an apartment.

To summarize: Good price and value if you can cope with the management and the curry.

Nice Place
I currently live here. It is a great apartment. I´ve been here since about February. It is very quiet, which I love. Also, there is a pool, a gym, and a common area for you to use. The building was recently renovated so it looks beautiful. There is a parking lot and also underground parking which you have to pay for. The parking lot gets full around 9 pm or earlier and you have to park on the street. Overall, I love it, I just wish there was an apartment complex like this with the same prices in DC.

Wonderful Place to Live...
I have lived in Country Club Towers since 1999 and have been very happy with my experience. The upsides are large apartments (with very thick walls -- you can play you music and even have a small party without disturbing your neighbors, and a wonderful staff in the leasing office. You can pick your packages up from the front desk 24/7 and they have 2 floors of underground parking. DSL and Digital Cable (with cable modems) is available.

Some of the weak points are the old air-condition system can be a bit leaky and during the really hot summer days it has some trouble keeping the apartment at 70. No in apartment washer and dryer. No walking distance metro.

Overall a great, trouble free experience.
