Not Worth the Money!
We are moving out at the end of July after a 18 month lease and have been very disappointed. When we first moved in we noticed a few things that needed to be repaired which have still not been taken care of. There is never any parking. I went through heart surgery and a pregnancy and couldn't find even ONE parking space. My husband parked in the handicap spot so he could help me into the apartment. Of course we got a ticket and after calling everyday for a week and getting no call back I had to walk into the office to have some talk to me. You pay for a gated community but the gates are never closed! I called the office to voice my concern about cigarette smoke coming into our apartment through the vents. I never got a call back. Being nine months pregnant and then having a newborn with her bassinet smelling like smoke was unhealthy. I have to say that the staff is very pleasant and do work very hard but the management is lacking. I would NOT recommend this community for the amout of money you have to pay.

Life is good
It has been 3 years now, since I have moved into Woodland Park and I have just renewed for another year. The gym is large and equiped with free weights, and after speaking with the staff they say that there are plans for the future to upgrade the computer room. All and all I do enjoy living here, I can walk to work if I want and with the new shopping center that this built across the stree I now and walk to Starbucks!!!!

Yes, I would refer
I moved here from Fairfax Square where I was very happy, to be closer to my partners work. I really enjoy living here and have had NO worries or complaints, with the exception of the parking. My Community Captain has been efficient, pleasant and a true professional to work with. It is perhaps her attitude about the service she commits herself to, along with the pride she takes in her work, that has made each communication a positive one.

Move-In Apartment Survey
So far my experience has been very positive, I hope it stays that way. I appreciate prompt responses to questions or requests and to this point, I have had no issues with anyone. My leasing person handled my lease and he was efficient and knowledgeable. In general, everyone that i have dealt with has been responsive and positive. I feel I have made a good move with Woodland Park and have already recommended it to several friends who will be relocating in the near future.

2 years and still happy
I just renewed at Woodland Park and I'm still happy. The club fee recently increased $10 a month, but I heard they are doing a lot of upgrades to our amenities, so I am pretty happy about that.

The staff is great- always nice to me when I come in. I have had most of my encounters with the managers, only because I ended up renting my actual apartment from them. I cant speak for everyone, but they all seem to be nice.

Maintenance is superior- they are very fast, and pretty funny too.

I'm sure I'll stick around another year, although I am thinking of purchasing a home soon.

Just fine
Been here for a short time now, and I am enjoying my apt. All the staff has been very helpful, and very quick to respond. They even jumped into the trash compactor for me to help get an item that I tossed out. Now, that is service!

Rent at your own risk!
This place has disappointed me from day one. When I came to pick up my key Jun 06 I also had to sign my lease paperwork. WEll that wasn't completed and when I saw my lease paperwork I noticed the address was wrong. So I told the young lady that the apt on my lease paperwork was incorrect...she told me, "oh, we moved you"...no one told me! This meant I had to shut off gas and electric and reroute my forwarded mail becuase 'oh...we moved you"...needless to say I wasn't please. Then I walked into the apt and dead bugs were all over the place. The key didn't work and when I told the mgt they acted like they didn't believe me. Then my apartment leaked and my imported couch legs were ruined becuase of water seeping into the living room from WHERE??? they didn't know! I didn't get a copy of my lease until after I talked to the corporate office...incredible!

Then this winter we had a bad ice storm. I wake up fairly early to walk my dog and when the snow/sleet was falling it was the consistency of sand and removal could have been easy...I saw two plow/trucks sitting in the parking lot idling. Becuase they waited so long to remove the snow/sleet it froze and the entire complex was a sheet of ice. When I called mgt to ask if they were planning on shoveling or doing any type of removal they said they had removed the ice...well then I must be stupid and blind because all I saw around me was ice. I was stuck in my parking spot and had to get towed out. I asked mgt again and mentioned that the apt complex right next door, the Metropolitian always clears their sidewalks for their residents, A rep from Woodland Park mgt told me "well of course their sidewalks are clear, they are smaller than we are." I called management and told them that this was now a saftey issue...Walking on that ice was not only difficult but extremly dangerous. On several occasions I slipped...what would have happened if I fell and hurt myself...they would be accountable! But Woodland Park didn't care about the residents. The back gate hardly ever works...it's crazy.

My advice, don't move here. They raise the rent like crazy and the services are extremly under par! Needless to say I am not renewing my lease and cannot wait to leave this place!!! Huge disappointment for the amount of rent they are charging...it's absolutely crazy!

ROACHES!
I moved in in March and requested several times that the management send over an exterminator to my apt but no one has come. Everytime I flick on a light I see roaches scattering through the kitchen and find dead ones in my cabinets.

Do not move here unless you like to live with roaches and you like the man in the office to laugh at you behind your back.

Fair
Security: Non existent but neighborhood is very safe. Leasing office and maintenance staff: Very courteous and helpful. Location: Very convenient. House was very clean when we moved in.

Main complaint and reason for wanting to move out after only 1 year is that it is highly overpriced for the space, the layout, and the materials used inside, and you have to pay extra for anything and everything. Our 3-bedroom town home has a very awkward layout, and the spaces do not match the high rent at all. Storage and closet space are non-existent. The materials used for the kitchen/bathroom cabinets and closets, interior paint, floor finishing, and carpeting are just showy and cheap instead of sturdy which makes one feel cheated for the price paid, especially as I suspect they will raise it when it is time to renew.

Very pleased
A few days ago my car was stuck in ice and I could not get out. So I called the office and they sent someone out to help me. I was shocked to see a whole team of people come over and help get me on my way to work. Those guys sure did work hard during the snow because after they were done helping me they dug out the person next to me, who also was stuck. THANK YOU WOODLAND PARK!

Dont be fooled!!
Dont be fooled by this last posting. The staff is HORRIBLE. If you ever need anything- dont think they will pick up the phone at the office. Afterall that is asking a lot. I cant wait to see what this person feels like come winter and they dont shovel and even bother with clearing the street. You will see what I am talking about in a few months. I was sent an email notifying me that someone had posted a comment and i was curious to see. I am shocked this place receievd a good review. My fiance and I were so glad to move out of here. We always laugh when we drive by this place. Dont make the same mistake we did!! Check out Ashford Meadows before this one. The management there is much more friendly. We have a few friends that live here and they have a beautiful apartment with friendly/helpful staff.

Love it!
I moved to Woodland Park last year and have to say I'm quite happy here. Maintenance is excellent, always responds quickly and gets the job done right the first time. The office staff had a lot of turn over, but the staff they have there now is wonderful - everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. I did have some problems with the parking in my area of the community at first, but thankfully, Woodland Park offers garages and I rented one! Recently, I've made use of the fitness center which is very well equipped. I'd have to say - this is definitely one of the better communities I've lived at.

Parking is Horrific
I was extremely disappointed with this apartment complex. I chose this place because the apartment is really wonderful. I have the two story two bath, two bedroom townhouse style apartment that is gorgeous. The wonderful apartment is NOT worth the hassle of dealing with the ridiculousness that abounds with management, not to mention the horrible parking issue. Forget trying to find a parking spot close to your apartment. We live near the clubhouse, which could be part of the problem, however last night we got home around 9:30 and all the spots anywhere near our apartment was full. We had to park on the other end of the complex, which as you know in the winter is a bit of a pain. Other then the parking, security is a JOKE! You think you are moving into a gated community - think again. It's gated during office hours, and that is it! After around 6 or 7 pm the gates are up and around 9am again they go down. We just laugh about it, because it's simply ridiculous. They are only doing it to show the prospective tenants how "secure" the complex is. I am choosing not to renew my lease in February and I am moving away from this undesirable place. Did I mention I can hear my neighbors every move? Oh well, just add it to the list of my complaints about this place. Good Luck if you choose to live here.

It's a place
It's a place I like to call home. No, really, I do. My townhouse is great I back-up to the woods, which in it's self is pretty cool. I've been here almost a year, and I think I've use the gym twice. The pool on the other hand is always a nice place to meet the ladies! Service is good, and I love the cookies in the office that they bake EVERY DAY! Which is why I should be more at the gym, rather then pool in the summer time!

Yes, they do!
I have heard that the staff HAS TO WRITE REVIEWS to make it up.... A friend's car was towed last week because he did not have the new parking permit. He NEVER received a notice, he never received a paper, he never received anything comparable. The staff did not even know whether one of the towing companies towed his car. They had to check, and it took them an entire day to figure out that what company towed hsi car. He complained, but he never got the money back... They should kick everybody in that Herndon leasing office...wasted money, wasted American jobs...

Management is a Nightmare
Parking is nightmare! Management tells repeated lies about that! Don't fall for the so-called "security" at the gates. They are only there during business hours to open the gates. During all other hours, the gates are just left open. Management will tell whatever lie they have to to get you out of the office. I would suppose that's why the entire staff has changed more than a few times in less than two years. They will promise you things to get you in and keep you in, but once they sign the lease it does not matter anymore. I can say the apartments themselves are rather contemporary and usually the grounds are well kept.

Not the worst
I disagree with the poster that claimed this place to be the worst. Their post sounds more like a personal issue then anything else. I on the other hand really do enjoy my apartment and the people who work there are nice and helpful.

worst
I know people who work inside the office...it is run terribly. They will cheat you, lie to you, and ignore your calls continually. There are one or two staff members who are nice to work with and try to be helpful, but when the manager herself won't answer your calls, what's the point in living here?

Wonderful
I love my apartment at Woodland Park. The layout is nice and spacious, I live close to work, and the price is decent. The extra fees are deposits only, which means that you will get it back later. I also think it is great that I don't have to call to have my internet and cable service hooked up. It was already working the day I moved in. It only cost $60 every month both together.

There is a new girl in the office and she is very sweet and helpful. She is one of the leasing people there. My first experience with her was really productive. The rest of the staff is pleasant too. They always take of my questions and/or concerns.

I would recommend Van Metre Woodland Park.
