I just transfered here for my job and I had no choice in picking which apartment I wanted to live in. The location team did it all for me. As you can imagine I was a little hesitant to move without at least seeing the place. I've been here for about 3 weeks now and all is well. I haven't seen any cause for concerns, and am pretty happy were I'm at.

Love my apartment
I moved here about a year ago and I love my apartment and the location! The staff is very friendly and they are always happy to help answer any questions I may have. They also do a mothly resident activity (cookouts, parties, etc.)which I enjoy attending. This is the only place I have ever lived that does these activities. Parking can sometimes be an issue late at night but I have spoken to the staff(and personally seen them on the property)and they are working on resolving this issue. I love the layout of my apartment and I have a garage too! The grounds are well kept and I enjoy walking around the community after work. There is a brand new shopping center right across the street, I love walking over to starbucks or panera for a quick meal and coffee. Overall I am very pleased with Woodland Park and pan to be here for a long time!

Just Moved...I love it
I just moved from Georgia and even though I miss home very much and everything about where I grew up, I am so happy that I found such a wonderful place to live after a long search.(seriously I looked at apartments for 4 months!) The best thing for me is that I left home with two yellow labs, Spunky and Brewster, and I still have them. They have really made me feel like I was at home from the second I pulled up. Spunky, Brewster and I are definitely very pleased with the entire staff here at Woodland Park and I have to say, in my opinion Woodland Park is the only place to rent in Herndon! You will not receive the same kind of personal attention that I did here anywhere else. Well, I hope I did my duty in letting you know exactly what is going on here at my home. I love it and hopefully you will too.

They must read these, we got new computers!
They finally gave us new computers!! My teenagers use the business center for their homework (dont worry, they are seniors in high school not the young ones you see), and they have been very excited about the new computers. Now if only we could get a vending machine- please management?!

Parking Problem-Management indifferent to this issue since a long time!!!!
and the staff tells that we have to park outside on the road in case we don't find parking in the apartments as they have no way to figure out which cars belong to guests. So while the guests occupy the parking meant for legal residents, the residents have to go and park on the roadside because the staff are clueless and chose to remain that way. Instead of addressing the situation, they tell the residents that its not their problem .Dunno what they are getting paid for????

still love my apartment
A year and going strong. I still love my 2 bedroom apartment, I still love the management and the maintenance crew. This weekend I had a small work order to put in on Saturday, yes I understand that work orders are done the next week, but the MAINTENACE SUPERVISOR came out within an hour. I was floored. Kudos to Woodland Park.

I feel like MTV should do a cribs episode on me now!!
I have lived in several apartments, but none compare to the luxury i now live in...in good old woodland park! besides being beautiful inside and out, and having unmatchable amenities, the staff makes me feel like a superstar. Katie, has been the most helpful, friendly person i have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. kudos to the whole team, keep it up!!! Management must be really nice to the personnel, because they seem so happy!! thanks!!

I give all 5's!
I am delighted with Woodland Park. My apartment is the nicest I've ever lived in, the entire staff is professional, friendly and eager to please. I've made good use of both the fitness center and pool. I've also attended the parties for the residents

At the end of my lease I will be moving because of my job, however I lived here for a few years. If is was not due to a job transfer I would renew my lease.

Think twice before moving here
are you a light sleeper or someone who enjoys a little peace? this isnt the place for you. both the ceiling and the walls are extremely thin. also, when people walk up and down the stairs it can shake the whole building. also you may want to turn your TV up very loud when your heat/ac kicks on because its right where most people would put their couch and its EXTREMELY loud (and not as effective as it sounds). they upped the price of our rent during a lease. they tried to get me to resign a lease for 200$ more even though if i was a new renter it would be almost 150$ less. the appliances are standard GE, the same you find at any non ------ apartment so nothing special there. they dont change the air filters for you like they say they do. they have the strangest internet ive seen in a residential area. it works well when it works and if you are interested in what your neighbor is doing its very easy to find out by listening on your computer. they dont isolate ports at all. if it ever snows and ice accumulates dont expect it to be cleared for at least 48 hours, they dont have any contracts with snowplow companies. other than that, its a nice property with a always overflowing garbage area and plenty of people always moving out/in.

my review
My review is simple, yet real. Over the last year I have seen changes at this property, some good and some bad. I wish that HD was a standard with the channel line up, I am sure that in time this will be standard and not a upgrade feature. What is good is the new shrubs that were planted in front of my apartment, I am glad that the old plants were replaced. I wish there was dog park closer to my apartmnet(i.e. one that I could walk too, instead of driving. Other then that life is good.

Loving it!
I've been here almost a year and love it! The staff has always been super friendly and very efficient. My kids love the pool and the tot lot - we go all the time! Maintenance always responds fast - no problems there! I'm definitely renewing my lease - you're not going to find any better with all these amenities.

Long term 5 year resident and still going
Yes that is right, I've lived here for 5 years and still counting. I plan to live at this place for a while. I can ride my bike to work and walk across the street to shop. Need I say more.

My husband and I are former residents of a loft apartment in the Van Metre Woodland Park community. The apartment itself was beautiful and spacious. A few of the fixtures needed maintenance over the year we were there (a door knob came loose and chandelier bulbs burned out). Once we got around to telling the maintenance crew, they were prompt and polite. A major area of concern was our dog. As new dog owners and clean people, we graciously picked up after our dog whenever she did her thing outside. Unfortunately, the community did not consistently provide residents with "doggy poop" bags. As a result, other residents (we assume) left their dog's waste everywhere. Trash pickup on the weekends was a huge problem. Our building was located at the end of the community near the supermarket. We noticed during our walks with our dog that the areas around the leasing office/ pool looked quite litter free compared to our area. In addition, other residents placed their trash bags on the concrete entrance of the trash compactor area instead of inside the garbage compactor. We witnessed many neighbors doing this and complained to the Management, but nothing was ever done. Customer service at the leasing office was poor and downright rude. Whenever we walked in, service agents stayed in their offices typing away at their computers while we stood there looking at them. Moreover, the service agents seemed bothered if we interrupted them for help. I recall one agent in particular, the "assistant property manager"/"community captain" who literally continued staring at her computer and typing really fast while I tried to explain which typographic mistakes another agent had made while typing out our lease renewal. When I brought this to her attention, she stared at me like she had no idea what I was talking about. My husband later told me he had had similar negative experiences with this assistant manager/community captain. The "business office" available for residents across from the gym was pathetic. None of the printers or fax machines worked, in addition to the fact that we had to supply our own paper! Furthermore, the computers were occupied by preteens and teens eating potato chips and using instant messaging programs. Lastly, we experienced a lot of difficulty with the postal delivery system while living at Woodland. Packages of any kind or size were directly sent to the leasing office if we were not home, and sometimes even if we were home (we noticed this especially living on a fourth floor walk up). To retrieve a package, you had to go all the way to the leasing office, deal with an "agent" and present the post office or UPS or FedEx sticker ("while you were out"). A few times, they couldn't find packages and we had to go at another time. On the plus side, the landscaping was very pretty including the walking trail and both pools. Parking was accessible and adequate, and the alarm system was a nice bonus.

a good place to stay
I stayed at woodland park from October 2005 until a month ago. I had a good experience in many respects during these months. The unit I was staying in was fairly new so all fixtures were in perfect working condition and the maintainence crew was really prompt for all my minor requests. There is occasional noise from kids in the unit above but that's something you gotta get used to I guess. The staff was pretty decent and I used to communicate with them over email in case I had any questions. My only gripes would be the gym equipment which is a little bit old and also trash removal - it could pile up. I moved out because herndon does not offer much for younger people but if that's not an issue for you it is a great place to move in.

I've been here 4 months and am delighted with my apartment and the entire complex. The office staff is friendly, professional and eager to please. The facilities are wonderful - a heated pool, unheated pool, well equipped fitness center, clubhouse, monthly resident get-togethers, nicely landscaped property, bar-be-que set-ups... the list of amenities goes on and on.

Been here 30-days
I have a community captain. Wasn't sure if this was SOP or I meet the cc only when an issue arises. I have the magnet/her contact info on my fridge. Just don't hear too much about this program

Woodland Park is a great place to live
My Community Captain has been efficient, pleasant and a true professional to work with. It is perhaps her attitude about the service she commits herself to, along with the pride she takes in her work, that has made each communication a positive one. I commend her on a job well done and you in her hiring! Woodland Park is a great place to live however I am certain you would rather it be excellent. Fixing the parking would have done that for me.

Do not live here!
My husband and I lived here for a year, and it has been a terrible experience. Management blatantly lied to us on several occasions regarding our lease. When we moved in our air conditioner was broken, we didn't receive a legible manual to use the security system, the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling-broken, our requested ceiling fans were not installed, our bathroom floors were covered in stains, our kitchen counters had burn stains all over them...and the list has continued. Please do not live here...it seems nice, but do not be deceived...we certainly were.
