Don't Listen to Losers!

The RCRA is SOOOOO effective! They've done SOOO much!!! Wait a minute- I mean, they've done NOTHING! August 08- "River City is going down!" September 08- "We've talked to a lawyer, and River City will soon be gone!" October 08- "We've called the building inspector, health inspector, and the police... River City will be out of business very soon!" November 08- "River City is going down!" December 08- "We've got some Christmas gifts, for you, River City." Y A W N I've read the back and fourth on this site- and all I can say is this- I live at the Parachute Factory and I LOVE it. MOST of the problems listed (pet waste, noise, etc.) are the fault of the TENANTS - no River City. In fact, when River City takes action against these bad neighbors, that's when the "ratings" on this site go down. Nonsense. River City Real Estate - and the Parachute Factory in particular, is the BEST VALUE in the Richmond area. I pay less than $900 a month (plus $35 for my dog) and I get a GIANT apartment with hardwood floors, exposed brick, in-room laundry and off-street parking! I LOVE IT!

I give Parachute a "C"

I was one of the first tenants of the Parachute Factory. I pretty much enjoyed living there. I especially enjoyed having a washing machine and dryer in my apt and the kitchen was also very nice. I did not have problems with any of my neighbors, although at times I could hear their private conversations. My biggest criticism of the Parachute Factory was what I perceived to be cheap workmanship. For example, a neighbor above me spilled something and it dripped down onto my head. THAT was an unpleasant surprise. I owned a pet and ALWAYS cleaned up after him the few times that he had an "accident" in the hallway. I remember that sometimes other pet owners were not as considerate as I was. I can understand where that could be a problem and I think that Parachute should have a janitor that would take care of such situations if the individual pet owner did not. I am going to say that I would recommend the Parachute Factory, with the stipulation that it covers the time frame from the Summer of 2006 to the Summer of 2007. I would have no way of personally knowing what Parachute is like now.

it is really petty for people to go at each other with this stupid crap. this site is supposed to be for opinions on the apartments, not -------- internet beef. you guys sound worse than rappers. if you are able to write a review of this place consider yourself blessed that you had a chance to live in such a "crappy" place. you could have been born in Africa watching your mother get rapped by a 9 year old. and if you are sarcastic employee and get paid to inflate ratings, so what. bottom line is, im sure none of you would like to be living in a homeless shelter or worrying about where your going to get your hard earned cash from to spend else where... to sum it up... Apartment ratings is clearly not paying attention. Between that and River City's incessant posting, these ratings have no integrity. If you have a complaint about River City Real Estate, I recommend taking it to http://www.ripoffreport.com. The process is virtually tamper proof, and if the cowards have something to say, they can begin the rebuttal process there. Under their real names. I know, I know, RCRE, Rip Off Report doesn't play fair. Just like the Better Business Bureau. Save it.

IT BLOWS - Live Somewhere WORTH your hard eaned cash

Hate it. Parking sucks - you're towed if your tire is on a 'line'. Spots are so snug, you can't get into your car. The people parking next to you love to destroy your paint job (mgmt actually repainted the lot to squeeze in more cars (A - HOLES). Dog turds in the hallway. Place stinks of dog piss. Mgmt sux - love to tact on BS charges to your bill - it is like pulling teeth getting it corrected - and they'll treat you lower than dirt while they do it. Cool thing is - you don't need a stereo, you can listen to your neighbors' with perfect clarity...ALL NIGHT LONG. LUXURY APARTMENTS?!? My A $ $....

Approval Rating Artificially INFLATED by MGMT

Dear Prospective Tenant: Please be aware all the positive reviews of this DUMP are posted by management! THIS IS A REAL POST from a tenant who pays rent on time and pays pet fees, and hasn't been evicted. The place sucks! It is very loud - you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbor does from blowing their nose to breaking wind, that is how THIN the walls are. The building elevator, hallways and atrium are often covered in dog piss or crap (which mgmt lets fester) and the whole place basically smells like wet dog. MGMT is Horrible - completely unresponsive to complaints and/or requests for maintenance. The location is very un-safe. Parking sucks. Don't waiste your money - Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.

A Friend of Mine told me about this place - and I'm GLAD they did!

A friend of mine had moved into the Parachute Factory last year and when I was looking to find a good place to live, he told me to try it - BOY, was I glad I did. 15 foot ceilings, hardwood floors, central ac/heat, in-room laundry, and off-street parking. PLUS, its right off the interstate, I'm sure glad I listened to my friend!

The Parachute Factory is the BEST!

Downtown in the booming warehouse district, along Decatur Street, River City Real Estate has taken loft living to new heights! This magnificent building is a landmark in the Manchester area that once housed an actual parachute factory during World War II. Now its completely renovated and features new appliances including dishwashers, garbage disposals, and in-unit washers and dryers! These apartments also come complete with hardwood floors, central AC/Heat, and, as an added bonus- off-street parking! I just LOVE it!

Parachute Rules!

Some people continue to demonstrate that they have NO LIFE - and despite, not getting paid (or ANYONE caring), he/she will just keep lurking internet message boards and post nonsense. I just relocated from the D.C. Metro area. My job transferred me to Richmond. So, I needed a new place FAST! I found River City Real Estate on the 'net - and after reading all the great reviews, I decided to give them a try. I met with River City after looking at a TON of places in the downtown area - and apartments by the big museum. I settled on the Parachute Factory. Its right off the interstate - so, its easy to get to work, and my apartment is really, really big, with a great view of the downtown skyline. In short, I LOVE my new place, and I LOVE RIVER CITY REAL ESTATE!

Hey- I pay my rent on time, and I pay for my pets! That said, I've had NO problems with River City- they've been GREAT to me. I know some agitators and busybodies have posted reviews. but they are just disgruntled losers. in fact, the "President" of some made up group was just EVICTED for not paying her rent! River City is a very poor choice, do yourself a favor and live somewhere else...

Paper thin walls. Miserable parking. Sure they allow pets along with irresponsible pet owners. Animals crap and piss in the halls, elevator, and sidewalks... the place truly stinks. Management is miserable...just read the positive reviews on this site and you will discover that they are penned by management. Further, note that they refer to their tenents as stupid, lazy, crazy, etc. They just want your money. Do yourself a favor - live somewhere else.

The Parachute Factory is the best place to live!

I've been at the Parachute Factory for a little over 6 months now and I love it! All of the people (tenants AND staff) are great! Me and my dogs really feel welcome. I'm not sure why some crybabies would try to "sneak" animals into their apartments - then get mad when they get caught, or pay their rent late and spout off here on the message boards when they get charged a late fee. I pay my rent on time. I pay for my animals. I have no problems. I LOVE River City!!!

Thank Goodness for River City Real Estate!

It was a dark and stormy night. I had just gotten into town from Chicago- I had rented my apartment online at River City Real Estate's website. The process was so easy and convenient! Anyway, when I got to Richmond, it was after 10pm and raining heavily. I had no where to go and my lease didn't start until Monday. I called the President of the company - and he drove from his home to bring me the keys. I love my new apartment - its so big - and I love the price! I love River City Real Estate!!!!
