We've only lived here a little over a month, but it is a nice and quiet environment. We have no complaints. The office staff is very nice and helpful and the complex is kept very clean. We love it here so far.

I have been living at Lake Bradford apartments for several years now and have nothing but positive feedback about the complex. First, I'd like to say that the staff is amazing especially maintenance. They get the work done quickly and efficiently and NEVER rushed. They also stay on top of making sure the complex is up to expectations--changing filters, smoke detectors, hallway cleanliness, home repairs, etc. The office manager is friendly and provides the tenants adequate information to share. Community stays clean, beautiful, and safe. Grocery stores, shops, and the beach is nearby which are very convenient. There are also many great restaurants and breweries around the area for things to do. Schools in the area for which the kids are zoned is also great--Hermitage Elem, Great Neck Middle and Cox High School. Overall, I've had a good experience living at the complex for many years and would highly recommend to anyone who asks.

Great experience so far. No complaints. My only recommendation is security cameras in parking lots. Extra added protection for belongings and theft prevention. Other than that its a great area to live.

Excellent community and office employees. The communication is very precise. The apartment premises are very clean. It would help if there are security cameras installed on the parking lots with access to all members.

I have been living at Lake Bradford Apartents for about a 3 years now and I really like it here. I am renting the upstairs 1 bedroom Shore floor plan, 555 sq ft, which is perfect for a single guy like me or a couple that doesn't mind being in close proximity to each other all the time. tl;dr - I really like my apartment and the area. Everything is well maintained and there is plenty of space for a single person in the 1 bedroom floor plan. The Living Room The upstairs unit has an extra 40 sq ft in the living room, which gives you a little extra entrance room. Without it, you would be walking straight into your living room, which would feel a little unnatural to me, personally, and would limit your living room layout options. I was able to fit my TV, couch, and love seat quite comfortably in the same space you would have in the downstairs unit. I use the extra 40 sq ft for a bench, shoe storage rack, and a coat rack. You could also fit a coffee table as well and instead of a couch/love seat combo, you could easily substitute a sectional. The Kitchen The kitchen is recently renovated with, granite counter tops, modern cabinets and slow close drawers. I like to bake and there is plenty of storage space for all of my pots/pans and other kitchen supplies. There isn't much counter space, but I haven't had too much trouble with it. There is a large counter/ bar separating the kitchen and living room that is good for seating one or possibly two people comfortably. I have one counter height bar stool that works really well for me. There is also a normal sized dishwasher which is a little too big for my dish-washing needs, but I do use it as a dish drying rack so I can save counter space for cooking prep. The Bedroom The bedroom is big enough for a full bed (set up against the wall), a desk/chair, a night stand, a dresser, and two bookshelves. Depending on how you want your bedroom set up, you could probably could fit a bigger bed, but you would have to sacrifice the desk or bookshelves. The bedroom has a walk in closet with adjustable shelving, which has a lot of storage possibilities. You will have to use some of this space for your linens since the linen closet houses an a/c unit, but I have no problem with this. The Bathroom The bathroom is just big enough to be comfortable. The tub is large and is slightly deeper than the floor, which is nice. There is plenty of storage under the sink, along with two drawers, and a cabinet above the toilet. The only thing I dislike about the bathroom is that the shower/bath are fitted with plastic panels on each wall instead of tile. There are gaps in the panels where mold grows if you don't clean it every two weeks or so. Laundry I believe some of the other floor plans include washer/dryer combos, so this really only applies to the 1 bedroom unit. There is a shared, coin operated washer/dryer in the building downstairs. Personally, I don't care for these too much because they take a little over 40 minutes for each cycle, for both the washer and the dryer. If you are drying towels, they don't dry completely if you do more than four with washcloths. There is a coin operated laundromat less than a mile away that has large washers and dryers that can do multiple loads at once much faster than the ones downstairs that costs about the same. If the time isn't a problem for you, then the downstairs washer/dryer shouldn't be a problem. The Noise Depending which apartment you are in, the street noise is barely noticeable. The apartments are really close to Little Creek Joint Expeditionary Base. Most of the time I don't hear anything, but on some mornings, I hear sounds coming from the base, like Reveille at 8:00 on Saturday. It isn't loud enough to wake you, but you can hear it faintly though closed windows. Each apartment has a shared, closed entrance with a door/hallway. I can hear the outer door open and close in my living room when someone walks in from outside. I can also hear when they unlock and open their apartment doors as well. Since there are only 8 apartments per building, this really isn't a huge problem, especially if I have the TV or headphones on. I can't hear anything else from other apartments from within my apartment except the occasional sneeze, toilet flush, or cabinet door closing, all of which don't happen too often. From within the shared entry, I can faintly hear other apartment's music or TV when they are on, and muffled voices if people are talking in their living room. All of that is inaudible as soon as I get into my apartment. The Staff/Property The staff here at Lake Bradford is always pleasant. There are two maintenance guys who fix the problems in the apartments and maintain the outside property. There is a cleaning lady that cleans the shared entrance way tiles and the hallway carpet upstairs. They have a landscaping crew come every week or two to cut that grass. The property is always clean and well maintained. All the issues that I reported got taken care of very quickly and efficiently. The Area The apartment is located in the Chic's Beach area of Virginia Beach, which is a really nice area. The apartment complex is well maintained and ascetically pleasing, which is what drew me to it in the first place. There are two shopping centers within half a mile that contain a Kroger (with gas station), an Aldi, a Bank of America ATM, a Navy Federal ATM, a Tropical Smoothie, a Little Caesars, La Herradura (a good Mexican restaurant), a Dollar Tree, a Dollar General, a Dunkin' Donuts, and a few other shops. There is also a Food Lion a little bit farther down the road. The beach is less than a mile walk from the apartment. A half mile in the same direction is the Commonwealth, a really good brewery. The exit to get onto 64 is about 10 minutes away and is right next to the Norfolk Premium Outlet stores and Ikea. Virginia Beach Town Center is about 15-20 minutes away going down Independence Rd. JANAF and Costco are about 25-30 minutes away.

I did a lot of researching when I was looking for my first apartment. I knew I wanted to be in the chicks beach area and have a short walk to the beach. Lake Bradford apartments was by far the best kept, clean, updated, and most welcoming complex on pleasure house rd. The staff is friendly and attentive. I couldn't be happier!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Lake Bradford. They were very generous and willing to work with us, always willing to accommodate our needs and requests. The entire staff was a pleasure to be around. Any issues within the unit itself were always handled immediately.

Honestly I love this community - it feels safe and it's just a quick bike ride from the beach. The units are nicely renovated and a perfect space if you want to live by yourself, or a SO/spouse (I have not looked at the two bedroom units). Jean is super quick to respond to any requests, and is very friendly.

I never write reviews but I have been with Lake Bradford for about a year now it is AMAZING. The staff is full of friendly, kind, great people. It is very close to the beach and in a safe neighborhood. And the rent is very good for this area. If you are considering Lake Bradford, look no further and check it out. 5 star recommendation for a 5 star apartment complex.

This is a wonderful apartment complex located about a mile from the beach. My apartment has just been re-done with all new cabinets, granite counter tops, bathroom fixtures, and new appliances. I was so surprised how clean the place was when I moved in. Renting from Lake Bradford has been stress-free, unlike other rentals I've had in the past. This sure beats dealing with property managers and real estate companies. The rental office is right across the road from my apartment and the office staff are always helpful and friendly. It is simple to put in a work order and the maintenance guys almost always come the same day to fix anything. When my AC unit stopped working, they were here within a few hours. Even though they couldn't get the part they needed to fix it until the next day, they put in a window AC unit for me. I would recommend these apartments to anyone who is looking for an affordable complex in Chic's Beach.

I have been here for a month. The staff is very polite, professional and smiling. It seems all the staff is highly responsive to all. I'm lucky to live in a renovated apartment so nothing to complain about it. The kitchen is amazing with good appliance. The community is very clean. And goes green (recycling disposal). You can walk to the Kroger 5mn and to the Beach 15mn. cons : I miss a den for storage. And the washing machine and dryer are a little bit too small. It's a very good place to live. Cheers to the staff again

I am a single mother that selected Lake Bradford apartments for my small family after searching for just the right place for our first apartment. I toured the apartments with my mother and leasing specialist Ashley. I fell in love with the newly-remodeled unit--so much so that I came back that very day to show my father and put down a deposit for the very unit I saw. I could not let it go!!! The process was very simple and I signed my lease the next day and moved in! The apartment is so clean and bright. I immediately felt like I could make this our home. I like that the apartments are managed and I do not have to worry about maintenance, lawn care, safety, etc. Ashley was so kind and understanding--she answered all my questions promptly and made the process of moving in very easy. I look forward to enjoying this beautiful apartment!

Love it here...quite and different type of lifestyle. Don't have to worry about loud people upstairs, music, or standing around doing nothing outside. Great school system and family friendly environment. Glad I found this place #1 on my list for apartments lived here two months.
