Our story...
This is a very well-kept place, and everything is almost perfect when it comes to the structure and cleanliness of the apartments (except a roach crawled into my bed a couple nights ago, though that was the first time it happened, so I'm not gonna freak out here). With that said... we wake up every morning to what sounds like a child's birthday party in the rooms above us... and it doesn't stop... we used to just drown it out, but it's not working anymore. I'm 20 years old and usually quite comfortable with being in loud environments, but... the children (and sometimes the mother, who screams at the children a lot)... I hear them every time I come home at all hours, every time I try to sleep... they sound like angry -------- having a fight with a washing machine... I want to cry... I don't know if we're just unlucky and got the one part of the building with all the children in it, but we're going to wait it out like troopers until our lease is up, and then go move up the street a little. If you have children, you won't mind the neighbors, as you can probably handle the relentless screaming/stomping in pretty much all of your neighbors' apartments, including your own. As for us, we will quietly pack our things and go elsewhere... no use in going to the office to complain about children, it's not the management's fault... we assure you that it's a nice place, we just want to warn you that you might not like it here if you're not used to children, which is the reason we wouldn't recommend it to our friends. Good luck to those hunting for an apartment. =)

Great
I used to live in Lake Bradford's sister complex, Waterford. I liked it but the apartments were too small. I live in a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom with my husband. It is great. We live on the first floor and tend to have the typial small spiders but it is a wonderful place to live. The office staff is friendly and always smiling. Some people are super friendly and some are okay. There is not much visitor parking and some nights the lot for renters is packed. That is the only downfall I can think of. I wish there was more parking available. That and I wish my rent would go down but I think this is a great place to live! I may have to move and it is only because I have to be closer to Norfolk otherwise I would stay! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous too!

I love Lake Bradford!!!!
I absolutely love living at Lake Bradford apartments! I moved in almost a month ago and already know that I will renew my lease here next year. When I was working with the leasing staff over the internet because I was moving from out of state I felt very comfortable because of how friendly, honest, and professional they were. When I finally got to meet the young man and lady in the office in person I was even more impressed! They made sure everything was taken care of for me and ready for me to move right in. I only had one issue that needed attention from maintenance and that was taken care of the same day! It is very quite here and you can tell that the staff genuinely cares for their residents. I am proud to say I live at Lake Bradford and as long as I am renting it will be here!!!!

Best apartment I ever had...
This is by far the best apartment i've ever lived at. I've never been in an apartment complex that looks like townhouses, have it be noise free, and maintain impecable landscaping. The staff and maintenance crew catered to every need I had in a timely manner as if it were their own apartment they were living in. For example, I lost my apartment key and laundry room key once.. I told them what happened, and i had a new set of keys the next morning. I felt really taken care of. When i come back from deployment, I hope to move back in with them.. I dont want anything else.

Myself and another friend moved into this place from Upstate NY, basically blind. Normally, that wouldn't even be an option, but having spoken constantly to the office staff almost a week straight I became very comfortable in initially choosing this as my apartment when I arrived. I was absolutely right on my gut feeling. The ladies in the office were phenomenal and very helpful when we arrived. Since that time, I have had a very good stay here. If all goes well I will not be moving from here while I work on my PhD. The staff is wonderful and very willing to help with any issue, immediately, if you have one. I would recommend this to people moving down here.

YES!
I have lived here a month now and the office staff is very nice and welcoming. Everything in the apartment is what I was looking for in a place. The staff is very friendly not only from the office staff but also the maintence staff also. The parking lots are well lit and there is always ample parking.

From a visitor stand point
I was visiting a friend in this complex and driving there i was uncertain as to the surroundings being safe. Shore drive heading in direction of the naval base gets alittle rough but i can assure you, that phrase,"you can't judge a book by it's cover" fits this complex. Once i pulled into the complex, it's very well kept and safety would not be an issue. the parking area is well lit and easy assess to the apartments. i have lived in a "moderate price" apartment and this exceeds my expectations if i were searching for a place to live. My friend that lives here said the Staff and office personal are very warm and inviting and make you feel welcomed. She said they are reliable and prompt w/ response to needs. I would recommend to my friends if they were in seach for an apartment in this price range and not looking for a bunch of amenities.

The best
I have lived here for almost 5 months and I can surely say that this is the best, the cleanest, and the safest apartment complex I have ever been associated with. I would encourage anyone who is looking for an apartment with great tenants and a great staff to stop by and ask for a review.

A good starter place
I've lived here for about five months now and for the most part have really enjoyed it. The grounds are kept up well and the staff is super nice. I live in one of the newer apartments and everything looks really good in it- never had a problem with bugs and I live on the ground floor. My biggest complaint is before living here, I lived at their sister property, Waterford Apts, and they had sound proofing between the floors- I assumed that since everything else looked the same, that it was similar here. Unfortunately, it's not and my upstairs neighbors have a little kid that is heavy-footed and stomps/jumps around and it sounds like they are going to come through our ceiling- they usually wake us up every morning- so that sucks, but its a kid so what can you do? Maybe they will move soon? The only other real drawbacks are that the office operates on normal business hours, so if you work during that time, it can be hard to find time to get over there, but they return calls quickly and most services are offered online. Also, the no dog/cat policy and a lack of washer/dryer and dishwasher in the apartment are bummers, but its still a real good deal living so close to the beach and in a very quiet and safe area.

Okay for the money
I'm one of the people who came on this site looking for information before I moved in, so now I'll contribute. I've lived here since June 2008 in a 1 bedroom ($710). It's a decent place to live compare to the other apartment close by (i.e. Dove landing). I'll just list the pros and cons, in my opinion. Pros: Clean, the grounds are very well kept Quiet and safe for the most part Parking always available close to unit Price is probably one of the cheapest close to chicks beach Close to town center During the week, if something needs to be fixed, it's done in a timely manner Cons: My toilet is always clogged and it clogs the bathtub...yuck My fridge doesn't always work the way it's suppose to The units are small I've seen roaches, spiders, and insects I can't even describe in my apartment regularly If something happens on the weekend that need to get fixed, prepare to wait a while Overall, for the money it's a decent place to live.

Best Apartment Yet!
I've rented with this company twice before at their sister property (Waterford Apartments) and the level of excellence just gets better and better. I thoroughly enjoyed Waterford Apartments and Lake Bradford is just a step above. Most apartments are newly remodeled including the one I'm renting and I just love it. The layout is fantastic and it really feels like home. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the staff has been extremely helpful and friendly. I was deployed and they helped me move in while I was gone. If you are in the market for an apartment in their size/price range, look no further. It will be the best move you ever make. Anthony

Great Place to Live
We just moved in about a month ago and we really like it. We looked around a long time to find the perfect apartment and I'm glad we found Lake Bradford. The staff is great and all maintenance problems are handled right away. They also pay very close attention to curb appeal and keeping things clean. Its a quiet neighborhood and very safe and the best part is that you're walking distance from the beach!

Great Place to Live!
I have lived here for a little over a year. So far, I have had no problems at all. Any maintenance issues have been fixed within a few hours. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is fairly quiet with polite neighbors. As a single person, this place is great for the price. I highly recommend it.

NIGHTMARE.
We first moved into Lake Bradford end of March. When installing our AC unit the day we moved in the guy left the REMOTE in our AC unit! We had the guy who lived in the exact apartment before us just walk right into our place and look around without being invited in. Our toilet ALWAYS is clogged up and overflows. Even AFTER the fact we call to get it fixed REGULARLY. Not only that, our bedroom window will not lock correctly and they refuse to fix it. The office staff are very rude and always find something to complain about or leave notices on my door about. My car was almost towed SEVERAL times WITH a parking permit sticker in clear view on my window. My friend stopped by to visit me, stayed the night, the next morning her car was towed. Even though she was parked in the GUEST PARKING space. We have a SEVERE bug problem. Not just any bug, we have a horrible carpenter ant problem in our bedroom, which I found 3 in my bed while sleeping. Japanese beetle problem, spider problems. I have called numerous times to get this problem fixed NOTHING done about it. I am OVER it can't WAIT to break my lease.

Lake Bradford
I recently moved in here and it has been the best apartment I've lived in so far. They are extrememly quick with any maintence requests. They have a shaded area for family/friends to get together and have a bar-b-que or get together. There is plenty of parking for visitors, as a matter of fact they have a whole parking area for visitors. I love the quietness of the park and it is within walking distance to the lake and a little bit further to the beach.

Great Location Nice and Quiet
I have lived here for 4 years and have recently signed a lease for the coming year. I enjoy living here because of the great location and because it is very peaceful and quiet. The staff is very professional and have taken care of the few problems that I have had promptly. I enjoy the central location because the places where I shop are so convenient and close by. It is also close to the bay and beaches and near several very nice restaurants. I highly recommend these apartments to anyone who asks about a place to live.

Nice place to live
I lived at Lake Bradford for over 10 years. It is a quiet, well maintained and managed development. It is convenient to local shopping, major highways, the base and the beach. The management staff is helpful and cooperative. I have recommended Lake Bradford to coworkers and friends and would do so to anyone looking for a reasonably priced rental in a nice neighborhood.

my review of Lake Bradford Apts
I've been leaving in one of the Lake Bradford apartment for almost four years now. I just recently signed up for another one year lease. So far nothing but good years and no complaint as far as the front office and maintenance personnel service and the outside sorroundings are well above average. The area are well close to the bank, gas stations, grocery and convenient stores, restaurants, drug store and the Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek. I highly recommend Lake Bradford Apts to anyone looking for a place to live. I feel safe as the community is well behave and the service is excellent.

WONDERFUL QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD!!!
I lived in LB for a year and a half. It was very quiet and peaceful. The landscaping team was immaculate. NO problems at all, though there was an incident where someone's car was stolen. But they started it and went back inside and left the door unlocked. But besides that, i loved it. Dave is nice, they are accomadating people. Woulda stayed but my job moved. DEF RECOMMEND!!!!

NICE PLACE TO LIVE
I'VE BEEN THERE ALMOST 3 YEARS. VERY QUIET WITH GREAT MAINTAINANCE AND SUPERB LANDSCAPING. REASONABLE RENT IF YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT A DISHWASHER. CLEAN, WELL KEPT HALLWAYS. GREAT LOCATION. STAFF VERY EASY TO DEAL WITH. SMALLER SOMETIMES IS BETTER.

Great location and quiet place to live!
Just moved in this January and have been very pleased so far. The office staff is extremely professional and friendly. Everything is maintained well, and maintenance is very responsive. Haven't had any real issues, just tiny things that needed fixed, but they were fixed right away. The apartments are kind of small, but for one person it's plenty of room because the large walk-in closet allows for storage space. Also, it's a half mile from the bay, so the beach is convenient. All in all, I am extremely pleased and would recommend it to anyone.

Lake Bradford is a local secret.
I've lived at Lake Bradford for 7 years. I grew up in the area and Lake Bradford is a great place to live. Close to everything good and quiet. I enjoyed Lake Bradford, every issue I had was addressed quickly.(There weren't many)The landscape and grounds are very nice. The maintenance and facilities are very well maintained. The leasing office is friendly and courteous. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The locals know what a good area this is to live in. They also know that Lake Bradford is the place to stay.

New to the area? Try here first!
I've had nothing but a positive experience since I've been here. The grounds are beautiful. Well maintained. Location is great. I run to the beach in the mornings. The surrounding neighborhoods are amazing! Peaceful and quiet. I love waking up to the birds chirping in the morning and the wind whistling through the trees. Seriously. The actual buildings are a little older, but the management is constantly updating things to improve quality of life for their tennants. In fact, new energy efficient windows were just installed in the complex. World of difference. Also, they have started a recycling program on the premise and are very green friendly. I don't know the exact square footage of my 1 bedroom, but it's not bad. Some may think it is a little small, but it's a nice floor plan and is open. The bedrooms are a good size and HUGE walk-in closets! I love my bathroom. Especially the bathtub/shower. And I like the fact that I can pretty much put anything up on the walls. Not that I have yet, but I will. Other places I've lived have not permitted anything. You do have to share a washer and dryer with seven other tennants, but since I've been here I've never had an issue of not being able to use the machines right away. Tennants here are very friendly and I feel safe. I love living here and will live here for as long as I'll be in Virginia Beach. It's too bad that it took me a year to find this place. I could've had a happier living environment a long time ago.
