We just moved in and so far we love it here. Kelly is very nice and friendly which is important. Everything is very neat and clean. We received a good deal and the price is great in my opinion compared to other places and considering the location. We can't wait to move into the newly renovated apartments which are also a great deal and beautiful. The landscaping is in great condition. We can sometimes hear our neighbors, but nothing too bad. It is also sometimes hard to find parking if we get home late at night but I think it's because of the renovations. We love it here so far and would definitely recommend!

Have lived here 6 months and really enjoy it. The price for a newly renovated apartment is reasonable (we moved in just as they were renovating and received a discount), square footage is a little small but it works and less to heat/cool. Love the surrounding area. Quiet and safe. Neighbors are great. Only this is parking sometimes can be an issue but nothing too major. Management is also awesome. Any small issues that I've had they've taken care of. They also take great care of their property and any upkeep maintenance.

Moved in this month and couldn't be happier! Such a cute space at a good price for Virginia Beach. My upstairs neighbors have an infant and have, yet, to hear it. The rental office has been great and even a month in, Kelly, knows me by name. (Not because of any issues, btw). I highly recommend these apartments!! It's been exactly what I wanted. Great location!

Great apartments, undergoing upgrades. Not an extra large layout, but inexpensive to heat/cool and just the right amount of space for one person without too much extra stuff. Safe, quiet neighborhood. Close to good food and shops. A little pricey because it's Virginia Beach/Shore Dr., but relative to other apartments in the area the cost is reasonable. Rent is higher for newly renovated units, but they do look really nice. Office staff are nice and friendly. Maintenance and cleaning staff are also excellent.

Staff is friendly. The area is fairly busy. The grounds are kept very nice and clean, but the landscapers come to cut the grass and tend to the grounds up to 3 times a week which is ridiculous. They start from 7am to 8am so it is not ideal for people who work night shifts. No pets allowed, no smoking in the building. The area is fairly noisy due to hearing police sirens on a daily basis.

I have lived here for a few months now and I really love this place. The area is quiet and safe, but is still close enough to all the essentials (grocery store, major roads, beach for those that want it) to be an easy place to live. The grounds are beautiful. It's gorgeous here. Rent is just right, water is included, and the fact that it's no smoking in the buildings is really icing on the cake. I hate the smell of smoke, so this place is perfect! As for the apartments themselves, they are perfect for someone like me: spacious enough to live in, not so spacious that it feels empty. I don't require a lot of space, and it's cozy feel makes it a great place to come home to after a long day at work. The only problem I have with the apartment itself is the kitchen area. It's nice, but it lacks counter space. With no dishwashers in-unit (although they are in the process of re-modeling to add things like dishwashers) the limited counter space becomes even more limited when you have to have a drying rack (see picture). But you learn to make do, and work around it. The staff here are amazing. Josephine and Lesa in the office are always very friendly and professional. If I ever have an issue, I feel confident in going to them and know that they'll do everything they can to help me. Maintenance here is also top-notch. Any requests I put in are typically answered/fixed within that same day or the next day at the latest. Bottom line: You should at least come out and see an apartment. This is a great place to live, and I highly recommend it!

I lived at Lake Bradford for almost two years and was beyond pleased with every part of it. I loved the CHX Beach location, and my building was all the way at the back which gave it a quiet, off the beaten path feel. I would have most definitely stayed longer but moved out of the area due to work. My positive experience began when I met with Josephine and was still apartment shopping. She arranged with the vacating tenant to show me the actual apartment that I was considering renting...all of the other places I looked wanted to show me models and then have me sign on the dotted line without ever seeing where I'd actually be living. The paperwork was a breeze and so was move in. I had minimal maintenance issues (AC one time and a clogged drain another) but everything was addressed within 24 hours and then Josephine followed up to make sure that the repairs were done. Parking is great, my fiancee lived in Richmond at the time and came down every other weekend and holidays to visit. We never had any issue with parking for the weekend or longer, I just called the office to let them know per the rental documents and we were good to go! The location is great, really quiet, and living alone I felt very safe at all times. The staff is so helpful, that I reached out 5 months after moving out when I accidentally had a Christmas present sent to my old address and Josephine was still responsive and helped. Moving out was no problem after giving notice. If I ever move back to the beach and need an apartment, I'll definitely be back at Lake Bradford.

I find it quite hilarious reading all these 5 star reviews. I can guarantee that MOST of them are the employees and they are fake reviews. I lived in this place and it was CRAPPY the ENTIRE time. The location is excellent, the property itself is cheap. The staff, cheap & disrespectful to tenants who don't even cause problems. Be prepared to receive the third degree in attitude when asking for ANYTHING to be fixed. Bugs are a big problem, I can understand some due to the water near by, but this place has a LOT. Walls are paper thin...I could hear my neighbor plop on his toilet and cough all night. They towed my friend's car who parked in a guest spot, in which did not require a parking pass back when I lived here. She stayed overnight for 1 night and her car was gone, absolutely uncalled for. Management is conniving, rude, do not care about a thing other then getting you locked in that year lease. Only positive thing about this place is the surrounding community & the well maintained grounds. Otherwise-run away.

This is a very comfortable, quiet, and safe apartment complex. The office and maintenance staff are thoughtful, responsive and honest people. When you are new in town they are almost like family. The property happens to be in the best location in Virginia Beach because there are no Navy jets overhead! I would rent here again.

I have been at Lake Bradford since December 2012. I absolutely love it!!! I currently work in the leasing industry myself, so I know all the possible issues with apartment living, and I can honestly say, I have not experienced any of these issues here. It is quiet and safe. This is my first place, and with my boyfriend being military, I was really scared about being left alone, but here, I feel really comfortable. I haven't experienced a single noise issue or maintenance concern in these homes. They really take care of the complex and the residents seem really respectful. The ladies in the office have always been very helpful and polite as well. If we choose not to renew our lease, the only reason would be wanting a pet. If I could have a dog here to keep me company when my bf is gone, I would totally stay here, no questions asked. Staying here has been worth my drive to and from Hampton every day for work.

I moved here with my husband and son in Dec. 2012. I love how quiet the area is and how spacious my 2 bedroom unit is. The staff is really professional and maintenance takes care of any issue right away. I love how close we are to the beach and can difinitely see myself staying here for a while.

We live in Lake Bradford for 3.5 years. First is building 4848 2nd floor and then in 4800 1st floor (after renovations). The apartments clean and spacious, the grounds are very well kept, and the staff is very welcoming and professional. The best part is how close to CHX beach it is. It a great place to live. We only moved out because we relocated to NC. I will miss it.

I moved here one month ago and absolutely love it! I was looking for a place that is affordable, clean and quiet as well as close to the ocean. This is exactly it! Close to Chix Beach, great neighborhood and close to restaurants, shopping, the base, Norfolk and Town Center. The office staff and maintenance are very professional, friendly and helpful. They know you by your name. You can tell by just walking into the office that the service is great. It is so quiet living here and very safe. Parking is great as well. Love the big closet and the cute kitchen! I have been nothing but happy. When I moved in, there was a bag full of local treats in the kitchen. For Christmas, the staff gave all the tenants a jar full of goodies. It is the little things that make all the difference. Love the yard maintenance, too. If you are looking for your biggest bang for the buck, Lake Bradford Apartment is the way to go. Very happy!

I absolutely loved loving here and was very disappointed when my husband got military orders to leave. It's rare to find a place that's so affordable yet so nice. The Chick's Beach area is so friendly and welcoming it made our move there so easy. They also have 24 hour emergency maintenance which is comforting. I highly recommend this place if your looking to move!

This place was a great place to live. The overall area was quiet, safe, and most importantly affordable. The water was free which was always great for long showers. The area is really safe and I never felt unsafe living in this area. I came from the Green Run area prior to living here and I used to hear Jet Noise all the time so it was refreshing getting away from that for awhile. You're only about a mile away from the Beach which is great for walking to and from. A drive down Shore drive will take you straight to the Ocean Front. Taste Unlimited is also near by if you like Sandwiches and there are other great fastfood / restaurants around the area. The staff was always great. I've had to call emergency maintenance once out of my two years and they came right out to fix the problem. I've had to call normal maintenance about two times out of my two years and they always fixed what ever the issue was without any hassle or fuss. If you want a decent place to live that is safe and has a great management staff/maintenance then this place is for you. I am only leaving because I have to move back to the Green Run area to be closer to my parents to help them out more. I also have a new Job that's closer to the area I will be moving to, but if it wasn't for these reasons I wouldn't have moved at all. Overall, It has been a great two years living here.

I have had the great pleasure of living at Lake Bradford for over the past year. From the very beginning I was impressed by the professionalism and courtesy that was was exemplified by their administration staff during the leasing process: and I quickly learned that this professionalism is just how they do business at Lake Bradford. In a years time, I only had to contact maintenance a few times, and each time that they were called - a solution to the problem was provided the same day. The grounds are always very well kept and the hallways are clean and tidy. Due to multiple cars per room, sometimes parking near your own door can be tricky, but with the service I have seen and received - I am not surprised that the parking lot is filled with happy residents. Parking a few spots down is a small price to pay for such a great experience. I would not be a true resident if I did not mention the close proximity to the beach: whether you wish to take a short walk to the beach or let the beach breeze dust off your bike - Lake Bradford is the place for you! I highly recommend this complex to anyone reading his review. Wonderful service in a safe beach area awaits you!

I really like being here at Lake Bradford and I looked at many apartments before I made my choice. I found the Management to be very friendly and knowledgeable of the area which was very important to me since I'm new to the area. When I was moving in the Manager made sure that everything was in order and that there was no issues with the apartment. A couple a days after I moved in I did have a little maintenance issue when I called the office they had someone here within 2 hours. Being in the service and moving around every few years I have never had a apartment complex respond that quick to maitenance call. The grounds are well kept and well lite at night. Being a women I never feel unsecure walking in late from work or from hanging out with my friends. A BIG plus to living here is the beach I can just jump in my car and ride 2 minutes down the road and I'm at Chicks Beach which is great. As soon as I buy a bicycle I'll be riding that to the beach. Also they have some great places to eat at Chick's Beach. When I need to do my laundry all I have to do is go right outside my door and I have a washer and dryer right there. I know it's not in my apartment but who really cares when it's 12 feet away anyway, plus I don't have to clean them. The hallways leading to the apartments are always kept clean, so I guess who ever cleans the washer and dryers must clean the hallways, WHAT a BANG UP JOB. I have about 6 months left on my lease and I will be renewing it and until I get reassigned I will be staying at Lake Bradford

good place to live
This is the best place I've ever rented. The maintenance is on top of their game when you have an issue they are there the same day to correct anything and the Management is always welling to help and is very pleasant to deal with. When I was looking to move to Va. Beach I looked at a lot of apartments and the Manager here sold me, she knew everything about the area and she answered all of my questions which was a lot. The grounds are clean and never no trash, if there is the maintenance is out picking it up. I really enjoy being so close to the beach that I can walk if I choose, but walking not my thing. I have never had any noise issues with my neighbors and for living in an apartment that's surprising. I know that I will be in the area for the next 3-4 years and I can say I will be at Lake Bradford until I get stationed somewhere else. So if you like the beach, being close to the base and being able get to Downtown Norfolk in 15 minutes then this is the place to be.

The place to live
I love living here with my wife and daughter. We are so close to the beach that on many nights we jump on our bikes and take a 10 minute stole and we are at Chix Beach. The property is well maintained and we always have flowers for the season. The Management is always welling to help and when we have a maintenance issue it is taken care of immediately and right the first time. My daughter loves going to the Management office to see the Manager so she can get some candy, then she has her sugar fix for the day. We've been here 3 years and don't see us leaving unless we get a job transfer or purchase a home, but with rent being so low and being this close to the beach who would give this up. Many nights I work late or on some occasions I have to go out of town for work I never worry about my family having any issues with being safe, because we have never had or hear of any issues since we've been living here.

Very Satisfied Renter
Great place to live: close to the beach, safe & secure, maintenance quick to respond and fix anything that is reported, staff is friendly and very helpful, grounds nicely landscaped and most of all NO BUGS! Wish there were more places around this area that took care of their property like these folks!

pleased
I have been living here for a year now and I have zero complaints. The grounds are always well kept and the office workers are friendly. I have 2 children, who also love living here mainly because the beach is so close, but its a safe place for children and the school system is one of the best.My favorite part about lake Bradford is of course my apartment! Ive looked at other apartments in the area they apartments were tiny and not well kept. My 2 bedroom is plenty room for my husband and i and are two children.

Great Place to live
I'm a fairly new resident and as of yet have no issues with anything. The Manager is very helpful and stays on top of things around here. The grounds are well kept, as well as the hallways and the stairwells. Being a person that has to relocate for my job from time to time this place by far is the this best place I've ever lived. I love being able to ride by bicycle to the beach and being within 15 minutes of Downtown Norfolk. Somedays my job has me working late and being a woman when you are coming in at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning from a 18 hour day at the office you worry about your surroundings, but here I never noticed or felt any reason to feel unsecure. If you are looking for a place to live and you want peace and quite this is the place to be, plus you have the beach basically at your back door (just a 5 minute bike peddle)
