Kind Of Confused

As I am reading some of these reviews I am kinda confused. I have lived here at Timberlake for about a year and half now, and I love it. My apartment overlooks the lake and is very quiet. Parking right in front of my apratment can be trouble sometimes, but I always find a spot pretty close. As far as safety goes, I was plesantly surprised to meet the new courtsey officer the other day while he was driving around checking for burnt out building lights. He was a very plesant man, everybody that I meet here seems to be very nice. Since I have been here I HAVE seen the office staff change hands, but with every new person I am more and more impressed. Susie, who I belive is the new manager was very welcoming and intrested in my thoughts about the property, when I ran into her Tuesday paying rent. All of the staff is very friendly and professional. And I can already see improvents being made. Maintenance is adequate, I am glad i dont have do it. They respond to all my calls very quickly sometimes they do have to come back but that is ok, I dont mind talking with them they are at least upbeat about having to return. Overall I would definitely recommend living here.

Great pet friendly place to live!

((*EDIT*)) This apartment is still the best place I have ever lived. I am very happy to call Timberlake my home! I was in the office today and Suzy handled all of my needs in the short time I was at the office!! My maintenance is always done in a timely manner. J'aime is also just as helpful and polite when I am in the office. This is a very safe and serene place to live. ((*ORIGINAL POST*)) Great safe place to call home. The office staff here is awesome! The maintenance staff is very quick and prompt. The pool and hot tub are very nice. Rent is not to high and my favorite thing about my apartment is my view from my lanai.

I have to say...

I have lived here for over 3 years, and I have to say that our current property MNGR is with out a doubt the best we have had since I started my stay. SUZIE JACKSON is someone who will get right to the issue. I had no closet doors, I was told by the old MNGR that it would be only a few weeks. Well months went by, I finally called the office and the next day she ( SUZIE ) was at my door with paper and pen to take notes of everything I had a problem with. With in a week everything was fixed. Just this morning I was at the pool and recieved a phone call from their COLLECTIONS OFFICE about the old apartment I lived in before transfering into the one I am in now, I walked right to the office and explained everything, she took out my file and quickly resolved everything. I am always FAIR & BLUNT, with that said, she is doing FANTASTIC JOB! I feel very good about my future here, knowing that I have someone to go to and they will listen and get to the bottom of it. She had a mess to clean up when she arrived, TRUST IN WHAT I SAY.....She has her broom, mop, soap out and is ready to clean up.

horrible manager will take advantage of you

I lived here for a year and when my lease was up my rent went from $665 to $902 on a 600ft apt/month. I didnt get that price quote until my lease was up with no perspective to move else where. The manager there ----- is the ruddest, most unpersonable individual that makes up numbers for your rent as she pleases. She told me my other option was to pay half of the 902$ and pack my stuff up that day and leave and she will accept the other half lateR!!!!!!!!!!!! i DONT KNOW IF THAT'S EVEN LEGAL. STAY AWAY!!! Never in my life I thought this is possible but this is real. I asked for a complaints phone number and they gave me a line that sounds like a fax machine when you dial it. I still don't have the phone number where I can inform someone about this outrageous situation and I am still calling their office for it....

A warning of empty promises

We just moved into Timberlake in June. They seem really friendly, the place is quiet, you look at the model and say "wow, this is nice". However when you get to your actual apartment, it's not the same. They promise that your apartment will be exactly like the model. It's not. Even when you bring to their attention the differences, they still do nothing. One of our issues was with the towel racks. The model has three very nice racks in the bathroom, our apartment had none. They finally installed one towel rack after over a month of pestering. We never got the other two, but they keep saying we will get them. We supposedly have the upgraded appliances apartment. Within a month our AC broke down (still not working correctly), our dishwasher would not drain. Our door lock is still very difficult to lock/unlock. They "punished" the entire complex for one person's mistake (that person left the TV on in the weight room. Now none of us has a tv to watch in the weight room. It was off when we moved in, still not on even after asking about it). The pool filter was broken, ants everywhere, ..... on the list goes on. You get the picture. They are a bunch of empty promises. Be warned the price is not worth it. Find another place to live.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!

Looks can be deceiving!! The place is infested with black mold in the walls....... you can hear everything your neighbors do..... the indian owner of the property sucks the $$ out and puts NOTHING back in. The grounds are disgusting.... no grass!!! If you have a pet they will be infested with ticks and fleas immediately!! There is always trash everywhere, including the residents. Yes, the location is nice and so is the area, but the property stinks and you will regret moving there!!!!

Love this spot!

I'm moving to this complex in a month, but I looked at 10 other locations within the Sarasota/Bradenton area. I would have to say that the management is very professional, I love, love, love the location because I literally work down the street. I love how quite this complex is during the day and at night. I also love having the washer/dryer hookups. Also, living on the top floors are more quite, better views of the pool, lake, and some have fireplaces. I also love the new appliances/cabinets as well. Please, take your time to look at all of the competition within the area, but don't let this complex pass you by!

Mixed Reviews

This place is ok for a short-term situation. The natural park-like setting is lovely. Most of the neighbors are ok, though due to wood-construction you will probably hear the neighbors that share walls- moving around, closing doors, running water, etc. They do send pest control in once every three months to spray so if any spiders or roaches do get in, they die pretty quickly. There is a problem with black-mold. That is why I say it is ok only for short-term rental. The mold IS hidden in the walls and A/C units. This stuff can kill you!! They make you sign paperwork regarding mold. Read it carefully!!! They deny the problem and when it is reported, stay on them, they will not do any work unless they are pressed. Plumbing may also be an issue, again, stay on them if there is a problem. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Also, pool in the back part of complex may look clean sometimes, but the chemicals are never right. Had a friend who knows about pools check it several times during my stay and it was never the correct balance. Be sure to get everything in writing, do not sign anything without reading it, be sure to do walk-thru with an employee before signing and keep all paperwork, pictures and dates that you report problems and whether or not they fixed them adequately.

MOLD IS BAD

My Apartment is full of mold. I could'nt even begin to tell you what I spend in cold medicine. The office staff could'nt relay a message if thier life depended on it. Poor management. They really need to clean out thier staff and start fresh. People with big dogs - if ya really loved thier pets would get them a yard. Moving out soon..........................

Lived here happily

We have lived here around a year and a half and are moving now, and only wish our new management were this easy to work with. Signing the lease was easy and they worked with us. The apartment has a great lay out even for being small it felt perfect. The staff is extremely nice. We have had a few maintenance issues but they came either that day or early the next day to take care of it so we have no complaints. The place was quite clean when we moved in and everything worked. If we didn't get jobs else where we wouldn't be moving. Our new land lords are awful and the management at Timberlake have even helped to ease that transition. parking is good I have never had to park to far away and my neighbors were friendly. As far as bugs are concerned this is florida. We had a brief problem but they put us on weekly pest control and got rid of the pests. If we ever move back to sarasota we would certainly rent from these folks again

Happy & Cozy!

I have lived at Timberlake going on 3 years. I very much enjoy living there! They have a great staff and management is getting things done. The office staff and maintenance are very helpful and go out of ther way to be polite. They have had alot of hurdles in the past 3 years - in the past 5 months they seem to be gettting over the hurdles at a steady pace - it can't happen over night! The pool & spa sparkle more then I have seen i a long time!

Judge for your yourself

I lived at Timberlake for just over a year and a half and left due to an employer transfer. Had it not been for the transfer I would still be there. I read some of the posted reviews and though many were posted before my time at Timberlake I found them to be quite harsh and wanted to convey some of my experience at Timberlake. I never had any issues with my neighbors or the office staff; I actually found the staff quite friendly when there was interaction. Now, there were maintenance issues within my apartment from time to time but I always found the response time to be quick and with in reason. Let s be honest about bugs, roaches specifically- it s the south, its Florida, there s going to be bugs. Whenever I saw them I called the office and was put on pest control and saw the bugs no more. If you need an apartment just visit them and judge for yourself.

I think from the outside it appears beautiful. Inside full of black mold. The front doors the mold shows through the paint. Tennants always noisy. Slamming doors. I think it would be a good idea for anyone to look real close before renting here.

mold in different areas.. some bugs will get in on occaission, roaches, spiders. it's florida, bugs do not die in winter. keep inside clean & garbage outside... they do send someone in to spray under sinks every three months... never saw a rat in or around. some issues with pool. buildings are worn... in need of repairs. wood frame-can hear neighbors footsteps somewhat, water running, doors if they slam, etc... staff is nice enough, no problems personally--always paid on time.. never really asked for anything. pretty quiet most of the time... occaissional stupid people being loud outside- happens in the best of neighborhoods. lots of trees, birds, squirrels- pretty if you like nature. most neighbors keep to themselves. some people with dogs don't always clean up after them... again, happens everywhere. parking is adequate, relatively safe area.. crime low. never heard a siren in this area. rent is reasonable... location is good for walking, running, bike riding etc. near golf courses & variety of shopping & restaurants.

Not worth it

Black mold hidden in walls, in A/C systems as well, Rat infestation, and un-skilled maintenence.Pools fail local health regulations on a regular basis, Sub-contractors don't get paid (pool service, lawn service, pest control). The positive reviews you see are written by staff. Not worth your health.

I have been living there for few months and never had a problem with staff or anything else. Office staff are very helpful and understanding. You do see roaches here and there but lets face it they are everywhere. That's why we have pest control. I would definitely recommend Timberlake apartments.

HEALTH AND SAFTY HAZARD

HEALTH AND SAFETY ALERT IS ABSOULUTELY CORRECT!!! THIS PLACE DOESN'T FIX ANYTHING AT ALL!!! NOTHING GETS DONE AROUND THE GROUNDS BUT THE GRASS. I HAD SPIDERS, ANTS ROACHES AND CENTIPEDES!!! VERY DISGHUTING!!!! THE PLACE IS CHEAP AND AFFORDABLE, BUT YOU MIGHT AS WELL BE LIVING IN THE ------! THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY, BUT THEY WILL SAY ANYTHING YOU WANT TO HEAR TO GET YOU OUT OF THEIR FACE, THEN NOTHING IS DONE. THE BUILDINGS NEVER GET CLEANED. I WALKED OUT OF MY FRONT DOOR, AND THERE WAS A SPIDER WEB AND COVERING 3/4 OF MY FRONT DOOR, NOT TO MENTION THE FAMILY OF SPIDERS THAT LIVE RIGHT OUTSIDE OF MY APARTMENT! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PALCE TO A HOMELESS PERSON, SERIOUSLY. TO MAKE MATTER WORSE, I'M IN AN APARTMENTS WITH "UPGRADES!" WHICH ARENT ANY DIFFERENT FROM THE REGULAR APARTMENTS. MOLD IN THE TILES ON THE BATHROOM WALLS... THEY JUST COVER IT UP WELL WITH PAINT!!! DON'T BE FOOLED... THIS IS NOT A NICE PLACE TO LIVE!!!

Great Place to Live

We have lived here for almost 7 years now. In August we had a flood in our apartment due to the upstairs neighbors. It was a real mess, we had water everywhere. The office staff put us up in a model apartment for 8 days, they took care of all the repairs and helped to file a claim to receive compensation. Jamie, Suzy, and Mark we're all wonderful. This happened to my brother twice at his apartment complex and his staff did none of these things for them. The staff worked very late that day to help us. I would not live anywhere else. Our staff here is the best. Our maintenance crew is always there to help when ever we need them. Alden, and Steve are the best. The piece and quiet we have here i, wouldn't trade for the world.

I have read some of the comments about Timberlake Apts and I also have a point of view that needs to be heard. I have lived here for over three years and I do not and have never had bugs nor any type of mold problems. The office personnel has changed several times over the years, however this is the best staff that Timberlake has ever had. We recently received new pool furniture, the lawn is now kept up and the problem tenants have been removed. It is a very quiet community where everyone is friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. I would highly recommend Timberlake Apts to any of my friends and family looking for their next home!

ANYONE THAT READS THE REVIEWS....COME SEE FOR YOURSELF. THIS IS A NICE BUT OLDER COMMUNITY. THERE ARE MANY APARTMENTS IN THIS TOWN. YOU HAVE A CHOICE BUT MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND. let me tell you

i would like to address some of the issues written about timberlake apartments. first off i have lived here for almost 2 yrs and im very happy. the ones who wrote these nasty comments to me are the following type of people. late on the rent each month. ones who never clean their apartments, or wait to take out the trash. i have found that these type move all the time and it is always the landlords fault. that they chose to live like pigs and destroy every thing they touch. as for the bugs. i have had none of these issues, why because i clean my home, and take the trash out. i see people set there garbage out of their doors,when the dumpster is only feet away. so if they have bugs they brought them to the unit. i also walk the grounds and i never see dog droppings all over, and once again this cannot be the fault of management. it should be put on the shoulders of the people who do not pick up after their pets. i swim in the pool and find it clean and well taken care of, oh and i sit on the lawn chairs and use the table and the rest rooms are always very clean. i have and will refer my friends to timberlake now and in the future. when i call for a problem in my unit it is repaired promtly and with good results. and one other thing. for the person who wrote the nasty things about the ladys in the office, well im no longer in elementary school and wouldnt even respond to such a person, except to say. GROW UP. if living here is so bad and the conditions are so horrible MOVE OUT. with the conditions they describe in such instances they can do so within the law.

I would like to say I 've lived in Timberlake Apartments for aprox. 6 months. When I got on this site, I was shocked! I came from a very nice upper scale community in Atlanta that I am proud to call home. While doing a Short term nursing postion in Sarasota, I found this community while driving around. Of course the specials that they offered got me more and more interested. However it was not the staff they have now. There is a nice lady thats been there many years, but she was not my agent. I guess you could say that when I first moved in it was ok. They now have new people that seem to really care...my work orders are done the same day and they really take an interest in whats going on and what my needs are. I read the blog about pool furniture, bugs etc. OK...so thats what pest control is for. I read at the pool twice a week and have not set in any destroyed furniture. I told the office about what I had seen on this site. I personnaly want to say...don't always believe what you are reading! People are using this site as a weapon against others and in the meantime trashing the place I call home.

I reside at this community and have for aprox. 5 months now. My best friend also lives here but in another apartment. I am from an upperscale housing community in Georgia. My need was to find housing while attending nursing school. I found this community via the internet. I want to say I am happy and found it a good deal. My friend is very happy with her apartment also, she is living in a two bedroom with a roommate. The only complaint I have ever had was that my neighbor was leaving her trash out...but come to find out she had just had surgery and another person was taking it out for her. Just wanted to give a kudo to all that have made it a pleasant experience.

i have been trying to find the corporate office number or email address...the management is aweful... i have a friend who lives next to a leasing agent and the women is in a one bedroom apt with another women with 2 big dogs! they do nothing but bark allll the time, my friend is alone and very quiet, she works a lot and is tired when she gets home,,, what do you do when its management that is causing the problems and wont do anything about it?help
