Very bad management
This place is very trashy, and yes I am talking about the management. The manager & her staff are very unprofessional. I am still waiting to hear back from the manager who said she would call me back a week ago. Horrible!!!!

going down hill fast!
I have lived in the apartments for 2 years now. When I first moved in they were relatively nice. Now under new ownership they are terrible. It took them 2 weeks just to come and fix a small problem in my apartment. The dumpsters have trash all around them including one with a mattress that has been there for at least a month. It smells and they do not cut the grass well. DO NOT LIVE HERE! Rent is going up and it is not worth it! Oh and the parking stinks!

Nice but needs improvement and updating.
Lived here for 6 months. Apartments need major updating. The appliances and kitchen are old. Some apartments are nicer than others. I wish mine was as nice as the model they showed me. Gutters have never been cleand, pool has been dirty lately, volleyball court has not been cleaned in months and is overgrown with grass. Some of the girls in the office have attitudes. They claim they are short on maintenance, when did that become my problem?

After reading all the other reviews, I felt a need to do a review myself. I lived at Timberlake for 7 or 8 months. The only reason I left was because I found a house to buy.I lived on the bottom floor in a 2 bedroom apt. Yes, it was noisey at time's but then again it's an apartment complex with many many people living in it. As for the insects, HELLO, we are living in Florida. This is not a new complex, and after a while everything needs a little up-dating, I had appliance problems, and bug problems and noise problems, but everytime I called the office the manager and her staff took care of everything I needed. I didn't live at the Ritz, nor did I pay Ritz prices. It was very reasonable to live at Timberlake. It is a nice place to live and I'd move back if I had to.

I lived at these apartments for 2 years. When I first moved in it was great and then the manager changed. The new manager had many friends in the complex who were allowed to break any and all rules. Ninety pound dogs on the third floor, put out on the balcony at 6am to bark and bark and bark, loud music until 2-3 am, grills on the patios with high flames, unsupervised children running around, puppies pooping on my doormat, trash everywhere (the bins were too small and not emptied very often), parking did not even meet minimum codes so was a nightmare. When I complained of these repeatedly, the manager told me that I was too fussy, and then kept my rent check and tried to evict me for non-payment of rent when rent was two days late, even though I had a receipt for the check. After I turned her in to the apartment association she told me in writing that I could move and not worry about the rest of my lease. When I did move, she turned me into a collection agency and tried to claim that I skipped my lease even though I had her letter releasing me from the lease. Rent here only if you enjoy aggravation, poor service and major attitude.

Noise, Ants and Spiders
Well, I have been there for three months and am stuck until 12. I live in a downstairs apt. and they rented the upstairs apt. to some druggies that tend to have parties every Wed. evening at 2a.m. When I complained to the office they sent out a general flyer but offered no further assistence from there. It doesn't help that the girl upstairs weighs a whopping 600lbs. Who puts someone like this on the second floor. Not to mention its there first apt. ever-so they can't comprehend noise control. In the middle of the night, when the girl decides to go the kitchen, its no wonder it feels like a 6.6 earthquake rolling through my apt.

The office doesn't respond nor return phone calls. They are unsympathetic to any concerns you might have.

I need to get out of this place.

BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY
I USED TO LIVE AT TIMBERLAKE APARTMENTS, BUT MOVED TO A HOUSE NOT TOO LONG AGO. I LOVED LIVING THERE. THE STAFF HAD SOME OF THE FRIENDLIEST PEOPLE, AND THE GROUNDS WERE SO PRETTY. THERE WAS AN AWESOME POOL IN THE FRONT SECTION WITH A FOUNTAIN RUNNING INTO IT THAT ALSO HAD A HUGE JACUZZI ON THE SUNDECK. THE FOUNTAINS ARE SO RELAXING. ITS SO SECLUDED AND I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYWHERE WITH AS NICE OF LANDSCAPING.

Office staff was not very responsive in requests. Nor very friendly. Major electrical problems and ants. Could use some updateing. Grounds are nice but could use some work. One nice thing was that they offer are doggie bags at each dumpster so you are able to clean up after your dog.

If You Like Ants this is the place to be!!!!
Lived here for seven months, finally moving out next week. From day one apartment has been infested with ants. Have called out management 5 times (whose spray did nothing to solve the problem), sprayed myself at least 30 times, and still every morning you wake up to ants in the pantry. Ants though aren´t the only bugs, large spiders can be found running across the floors at night. Plus the bottom corner openings on the screen porch allow all kinds of night bugs to get into your porch and eventually the apartment.

The apartment is 630.00/ a month in a very nice area, there is no reason for the bug problem to be like this. They may say they provide pest control, they come only once every three or four months. The one time the guy came, my fiance told him about the ants and he just said "okay" and walked out.

The apartment is very small certaintly not worth the money paid for, the appliances are old, prone to breaking and the dishwasher sounds like a train.

I would highly recommend against coming to Timberlake, it just isn´t worth the money.

A nice place for one person
The two bedroom apts are 1,000 square feet in size. A nice size for one person,if you have small furniture, and not much of it. The dining room??? Almost non-existant. As for the noise, if you live on the first floor, forget it. There is little or no sound insulation between floors. You can even hear the bathroom being used. If you have clostrophobia, this is the place for you. At the time, the office staff was very friendly and helpful. Maintenance was very good and responsive. Usually a couple of hours at most. Grounds were beautiful, but we had a view of the lake. Overall, a nice place if you don´t have a lot of furniture, or dishes. Not a lot of cupboards. Parking, depending on your work hours, was OK before dark. Tree sap on cars was a problem. Our car was broken into once. Basically, a nice place to live, if you request second floor, and ask for a lake view.

still a resident
I have been at timberlake for about 6 months now and have not encountered as many problems as the previous tenants. I have had some pest problems but nothing out of the norm. I live in the back portion with a great view and it is extremely quiet. The good pool is no more than a mere walk away. I have only had parking problems a few times, and the apartment looks great. When compared to pricing in the neighborhood, this was the best deal for your money. Only problems I would say is the lawn upkeep and trees over the parking which is a nightmare to keep your car clean.

Many Downs Some Ups
If you take the time to read the 8/1/2002 comment, that is accurate. There are two parts to Timberlakes, the front which has a nice pool and hot tub, and the back which has a ses-pool (just a nasty pool) and no hot tub. These two developments are the same price. The washers and dryers are rust buckets and the weight room is quite funny.
Ants are a major problem and the cabinets and draws (unless you pay $20 extra a month) are falling apart in my hand.
On a lighter side, maintenance is right on! They are same or next day, very efficient and nice. With a Good location and quietness, it´s what you pay for. That´s it!

The area is quiet and a easy location. The parking is a nightmare. There are apartments with too many people at one time living in them so there are double the cars. We´ve also complained over and over again about the ant situation nothing has been done. I´ve spent enough money on groceries and had to throw closed boxes in the garbage due to the ant problem. There are leaks when it rains through the windows.
Cabinet and flooring, rugs are a disgrace since we´ve moved in
They were not updated or even in tact. Now alot of the apartments have newer cabinets and appliances, and we are paying the same price as them. The landscaping sceen is nice but they do not do a well job on cutting the grass, always too long... and they blow everything onto our cars. Also have had water spots and damage to cars from water sprinklers, there aim is not on the grass.

TimberLake is an excellent place to live.
TimberLake is in a very upscale neighborhood located very close to the Interstate. It is close to the downtown area, and about 15 minutes from the beaches. The grounds are beautiful, and the rent is very reasonable. It is located in North Sarasota which is building in size very quickly. I have really enjoyed my time living here.
