Love it! Love it!
I love living at AMLI at Oakhurst North! They have the best staff and my apartment is beautiful! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a home!

better experience than the other reviewers here ...
This place was great - solid construction so we NEVER heard our neighbors, fast maintenance service, good groundskeeping. I was shocked when I read the other reviewers' comments about the "------" element ... get over it! Yes, there are black children who play at the playground and swim in the pool and ride on skateboards in the parking lots. So what? I lived there for three years and never saw or heard the boys in the hood phenomenon the other reviewers are ranting about. Parking, however, can be a problem if you're in a building at the back of the complex ...

Apartments are nice. Maintenance staff doesn't really know what they are doing, however they always respond in a timely manner. Residents are shaddy, they will call the apartment complex and tell the staff lies and the staff does not even look into the situation, instead just places the balme. Residents should act like an adult and address the individual themself. I have also noticed the quality of residents has gone WAY down.

keep away if you know whats good for you
I can see why Amli sold off the Fox Valley complex. They must have been getting the same quality staff as Oakhurst North.

The baffoons in the office and maintenance are rude and the biggest idiots you have ever seen running a complex of this size.

It is also becoming about all Section 8 housing. Just drive down the road during the evening and you'll see the ------ that it is becoming.

I am out of here when my lease is up in the fall. If not sooner...

renewing lease- it is great
For those of you looking for a good apt. in the Naperville/Aurora area- this Amli is honestly one of the best. I've lived in a few different complexes in Naperville, and I can tell you, the people who are complaining on here just want to complain or should buy a condo instead. The appliances are brand new, everything inside is clean and furnished in clean, white wood, there are huge soaking bathtubs, huge closets, and a very clean environment. The complex is only about 3 years old. Also, every time I've asked maintenance anything, even minor (like changing the light on the hood of my stove) they come THAT day or the very next. It's fabulous here- better than most complexes around! I'm renewing my lease this summer!

It's great!
I was very suprised to see all the complaints about Oakhurst North. Granted I've only lived here for about six months, but I haven't seen any of the problem noted by the previous two posters. All of my neighbors are very nice and decent. My neighbors will actually talk to you when you see them here. In the last place I lived you were lucky if they could even be bothered to say hello to you!

The apartments are very nice and well maintained. I've got the larger one bedroom (the Llewellyn). I feel more like I'm living in a condo than an apartment. Very reasonably priced for the area as well.Maintenance has always taken care of me when I've had a problem. I've not had any problems with the folks in the office either.

So for the only bad thing I can say about the place is that it can be a little bit noisy. I'm in the corner of the property near the intersection of Libery and Eola, and can definatey hear the traffic. Also hear the occasional train horn from the nearby EJ&E. Doesn't really bother me. But if you're very sensitive to noise you probably would want toā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Things Have Gone Way Down Hill
When we moved into this complex several years ago there were helpful competent staff in the office and things were great. Since then our rent has increased, amenities have decreased, and the staff has turned over several times leaving a less than competent bunch in charge of the complex.

The staff has lost our paperwork more than once, and make continual billing mistakes. The staff is not helpful at all in correcting these mistakes.

Additionally, Amli has started leasing to a different class of renters. When we moved in all of our neighbors were quiet, middle class working folks. Now we have neighbors on one side who never seem to work, and listen to loud rap music at all hours of the day and night, and there appear to be a larger number of people living there than allowed by the city. There has also been an increase in groups of people hanging out in the parking lot at all hours. I no longer feel safe walking around the complex at night.

Things have changed..FOR THE BETTER!
Oakhurst North is hands down the most luxurious community of its kind within a 5 mile radius! I have seen all of the surrounding communities near by and not a single one offer the # of amenities they have. Every apt has a private entrance high ceilings HUGE bathtubs and indoor pool! The staff is great and the prices are reasonable. Cant go wrong here!

Poorly ran apt complex
I would have to dito all of the previous responses regarding the employees. The apartments are nice. Just pray you don't have to deal with anyone on the Amli Payroll. The women are complete idiots and the maintenance men are too. I have a couple neighbors who have also discovered things missing after Amli employees have been inside their apt.

Exactly what I expected
I am a hard working single father. I love the ammenities that allow me to spend quality time with my children. The grounds are always clean and well light at night. Maintenance has always immediately addressed any needs. I live on a ground floor and seldom hear any neighbors. I have also found that the office staff has been courteous and accomodating. I have lived here now for two years and will stay until purchasing a new home of my own!

Make copies of everything!!!
Amli at oakhurts has been a nightmare from day one!! To start things off my apartment smelled like an old bar and there was a hole in the gas line to my dryer. Also when I moved in and I was told I lived in a no dog building but the guy downstairs had a dog that the front staff did nothing about. And it didnt stop there the women in the from office are all blithering idiots and dont know thier right hand from their left. Every month there is something wrong with my payment, they either say I payed to much or not enough. To make matters even worse my last payment was payed on the 1st of the month and they lost the check so I came home to an eviction notice on my door on the 4th. They said that they can't trust that we paid them the money even though we have never had a late payment and they told us that we had to cancel our check and issue them another all within 5 days or our names would be turned over to an attorney. After a full day of fighting with theā¦Ā See More>anonymous

No Complaints
I lived at AMLI for 1 year. Only moved because I got a house. The service requests we put in were tended to in a timely manner. Granted we only had two. The office was only open when I was at work so I can't say much for the office staff but the maintenance staff was always friendly and the work that was done in my apt. was right the first time. I would recommend AMLI in a heart beat.

You will have MANY problems!!!
If you live here, you are going to have problems with everything. The hardest thing to fix will be the staff. They must have pulled a bunch of uneducated women off the street to fill those office jobs. (they probably though, "how hard is it to run an apartment complex.") Well, its too hard for them dumb women.

Here are some good numbers and emails to keep handy:

AMLI CEO Allan Sweet - [email protected] - (312) 984-2602

AMLI Regional Manager Nancy Mahar - [email protected] - (312) 984-6858

Worst Experience Ever
While living at Amli at Oakhurst North I repeatedly had problems with basic day to day tasks that the Office Staff would screw up month after month.

A piece of advice is SAVE EVERYTHING. The Office has horrible book keeping and orgainzation skills. Do not believe a word they tell you unless it is in writing. They will lie and cheat to correct their own mistakes.
Gone down hill
IĀ“ve lived here 2.5 years and the service has gone down hill. Parking is not enforced and always a problem with neighbors, more vehicles than allowed. I had my vehicle broken into and try to park in front of my apt and in the same spot for months. Two new neighbors moved in and started playing musical parking spots with me even tho the whole lot was empty they always took the one I parked in, if they beat me home. Maintenance standards has dropped significantly. I had the fridge repaired, took two calls to get it completed and left food out while I was at work. I have a pet and they moved people in my apt complexe who were told they were in a pet free building. As a result every move the pet makes outside they look for an excuse to complain. The old staff, mgrs. rewarded you for renewing your lease by offering to clean carpets, paint, free months rent. Now they could care less if you stay, nothing offered. The water bill has more than doubled because you pay Amli now instead of the city.
This is a beautiful complex but itĀ“s becoming more obvious this is not to beā¦Ā See More>anonymous

FANTASTIC LIVING!!!
WeĀ“ve lived here for 6 months now, and all I can say about it is that everything is WONDERFUL. First off, they replaced our carpets before we moved in because the previous renter had a cat (when we signed, I made sure they knew I had animal allergies so we wouldnĀ“t be anywhere I could be affected). They have always responded to all of our questions and concerns in a very timely matter... if we are ever in need of maintainence or anything, they are here within HOURS, even during the holidays (they came here to check on something we called them about 2 hours after we called, even though we told them they didnĀ“t have to look at it immediately because we were prepearing to leave for our holiday vacation). ItĀ“s the best management IĀ“ve ever lived with, and IĀ“m very picky.

More shady practices!!
You will not be charged for the water you used. Your bill will be indentical to anyone else who lives in the same type of unit as you.

So - if you are out of town for two weeks, you can expect you water bill will be the same as if you are there.

I guess I should check and see if this is even legal.
