I absolutely love this community! It's a very quiet and clean environment, The staff members are professional and maintenance is handled extremely quick. The apartments are renovated with stainless steel appliances, nice wood cabinets and washers and dryers in them. There's plenty of parking available and close to the highway.

I hate this community, I loved it when it was Fordham Glenn. The new management doesn't seem to care at all. Packages go missing and they'll claim that they have no liability, even after signing for it. They'll enter the apartment when you're not home without notice. Please don't move here if you've other options. I love my neighbors but the management is awful.

I have lived here 14 years and have enjoyed my time here tremendously. We are situated in a great area for shopping and transportation. All of the residents that I have met to date have been very friendly and sort of "look out" for each other.

Customer service is abysmal. The local staff and national staff both make promises to address issues, but they never follow through on any of them. It has become very frustrating to live in an apartment that should be worry-free living. I would not recommend properties managed by this company.

The office staff seem helpful but nothing ever gets followed through on unless you complain a lot. Maintenance issues are not handled well and the staff are rude and seem annoyed that they have to take care of issues. The location is pretty nice, but there was a shooting in the complex.

The interior of the complex in the halls & stairs needs to be updated as well as the carpets. Overall I enjoy living here. Parking is great. Landscape is always nice & clean. Some apartment models are very dated.

The staff has always been and efficient. The always been prompt, and willing to listen The only complaint I had was that there was often dog poop in the area in front of my apartment and though I made complaints but nothing was done. Recently this has improved.

I've lived here for about a month now and love it. What really got our attention was that they allow German Shepherds, because I was not about to give my dog up. Maintenance will be here the same day or next day to fix anything that's wrong, all the ladies in the leasing office (and Matt) are super nice, and the amenities are GREAT! 2 pools, 2 gyms, volleyball courts, dog parks, hot tub, etc. The only downsides are parking and very few people pick up after their dogs. Half the time I'm parking by different buildings because there's never any room. A lot of us have to use guest parking. Sucks, but oh well. As for the dog poop issue....It's annoying. My boyfriend, and our friends, have stepped in it multiple times and dragged it into the apartment. No one really cares to do anything about it. Other than that, great place to live. Very quiet, spacious updated apartments, and dog friendly!

I lived here 5 years it was a nice place to live until it got bought out by the condos across the street. Since then my rent has increased 20% it takes weeks to get anything fixed. The maintenance just puts a brand new appliance in a vacant apt and gives you the used one. They haven't held up to any of the agreements we made when I resigned my lease. This has gone from one of the best apt to one if the worst with just a simple change of ownership. They even have an agreement with a tow company so if your friends come over they have to walk across the complex otherwise it's a 400 tow bill......can you say kick backs? GREED

THE APARTMENTS WERE OK BUT MANAGEMENT WILL TRY TO MAKE YOU PAY FOR THINGS THAT ARE NOT IN A LEASE. THEY LET MY LEASE EXPIRE AND TRIED TO GET ME TO PAY FOR MOVING OUT AFTER THAT TIME BECAUSE THEY ASSUMED THAT I HAD A LEASE AND DIDN'T IF THEY MADE SURE EVERYTHING WAS IN ORDER WITH THEIR FILES THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. BUT GOOD FOR ME THEY DIDNT BUT BAD FOR THEM.

Decent
I lived here for about a year. Apartments have a decent, but somewhat dated finish. Kitchens don't have a huge amount of cabinet space, but there was ample storage space in the 1 bedroom unit. Community was well kept and the facilities clean. Management was attentive and helpful when needed. My only complaints are that the walls were entirely too thin, the stairs felt as if they were going to fall apart, and its obvious people cram way too many people in the apartments because parking is a huge issue. All and all, a decent place. Its pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but there are strip malls nearby for shopping essentials. Its suburbia in Chicago, what else can I say.

Decent place to live
My lease is almost up at Fordham Glen and I'd say it's a decent place to live. The office staff has been very helpful, but I mostly work with Val. She is very nice and very helpful even when you call with random questions and concerns. Maintenance has been top notch. My sink wouldn't drain and it was fixed promptly the next day as I came home from work. Maintenance staff is very nice and are pet lovers and will talk to you for awhile about your dog, their dogs, etc. Parking is adequate. They do give you a sticker for each person on the lease. Guest parking is open and I have not had a problem with towing or anything else. Be sure to get a city sticker, as the police do come around and check every couple of months. Some people complained to Fordham Glenn about this thinking that their parking sticker was enough, but that is not the case. No fault to staff here, read the city ordinance. Snow plows in the winter do a decent job, I've never been blocked in or had my car damaged. Some people in the past complained of break ins but I haven't had any problems or heard of any recent problems. The units themselves are pretty nice. I went for an upgraded unit and all the appliances were new and in great working order. Having a washer and dryer in unit is great, although they are smaller than the ones at my old apartment. Still better than coin operated community style. One complaint that other have expressed that is true is the noise. The community itself is not loud, but the walls are pretty thin. I lived in a unit that is as close as you can be to North Ave. The noise from the road is enough to keep your patio door closed during the summer or avoid phone calls while outside. The place is a little drafty, but the windows are old. I simply used a heavy blanket to cover the draft in my bedroom. The pool is nice, never used the hot tub. The grounds are fairly well kept during the summer, but lacking in the winter. There is a fire line around the back of most buildings than you can drive on but not park on. I use it to park my car at my back door to carry in groceries. The fire lane is plowed during the winter and has never been a problem in anyway for me. Being a dog friendly place, there are some poop issues. I always pickup my dogs waste, but some others are not so polite. As of 2/1/10 they implemented a $100 fee for being caught not picking up your dogs poop with a 3 strike policy to eviction. The policy also states you cannot have a trash can on your patio for the poop, which bothered me as it has never seemed to bother anyone of attract any animals. The pet owners are usually pretty nice and approachable. Overall I'd give it a 7/10. I might stay if it was closer to my job and a 1 bedroom was more affordable. If your looking for a decent place in the middle of no where, this will be fine for you. I will be moving on to bigger and better things, but I dont regret living here.

worst place to live ever.. may as well go to the ------ or live on the street
This place has the worst management, they lie and say theyll do something and NEVER take care of it. If you need anything, you better let them know 20 times. .. But even then! Looks beautiful when you see it but its not. I've been stalked in the parking lot. Its not well lit at night. There's dog poop everywhere that doesn't get cleaned. The management is a joke, and don't even bother calling village green.. they're on the same bs. The doors are always jacked up, and parking is insane. Since stickers aren't required many people leave broke cars chillen for months. The roofs leak. The noise is horrible. You can hear everything down to the conversation from the floor above. Windows get broken into, and I've woken up to my car alarm blaring off in the middle of the night. The neighbors are creepy and like to watch you come and go. Nobody is nice here. It is a hellish place to live. The hot tub is filthy and the sauna never worked for the year I stayed. The contract is bogus, and even if they do something that would void it... goodluck dealing with village green. Theres also garbage laying on the ground everywhere. And one of the WORST things.. they don't get snow plowed unless there's a MINIMUM of 2IN. 1 1/2 IN. is more than enough to crash your vehicle, even at 3mph. Just as I did mine, goodluck again trying to get any payment for the repair. NOT POSSIBLE. And dealing with the guy at village green, who owns them, and is in ohio.... goodluck, you're better off talking to a rock. They don't care. They just want your money and want to do nothing to earn it. The maintenance never gets around to fixing anything. And there's shady people that.. go into the halls of each complex and are 'cleaning'.

I like it!
I see that a lot of other people say that they are unhappy but I have to say that I enjoy it here. I dont spend too much time at my apt. but when I am here I like what I see. I wouldn't mind living here for a while or recomending it to others.

I have lived at fordham for 5 years. They are overpriced pieces of ----,with leaking walls, noisey neighbors, broken door locks and a very arrogent manager named jeff. The maintinence staff has always been kind and helpful no matter who the guys were.the office staff is also good, especially Val.The windows are very cheap, and the utilty bills are astronomical. They will do nothing for their current residents, and only seem interested in sprucing up an apt.for a potential new resident. The only good thing I can say is they are probably better than all the other pieces of ---- apartment complexes in the Carol Stream ------.

Not worth what you pay for
The place is very expensive. Staff is not helpful and not responsive. It requires multiple follow ups to get simple things done. I heard several residents complaining about their unit entrances having locks broken and not taken care for several weeks. Management does not consider that a safety hazard. They tell you one thing when you sign the lease and later you find out that was not true because the lease that you sign says something different. So please read it carefully. Other thing you need to be careful is heating bills. Please do call gas company and find out what are the heating costs. They could be as high as $180 per month for a single bed room apartment. Insulation sucks. You could be paying $300 more than what your neighbor pays for the same size unit. Be careful. In a nutshell, I would not recommend this place. We sure will be moving out at the end of our current lease.

Horiible Neighbors and BOB IS SO RUDE
The property manager is absolutely the rudest person i have ever met. If you have a problem he is arrogant and has a 'well thats not my problem' attitude. He is never caring and always refers problems to Jeff. Jeff is very kind and thorough and should be put in charge. He is fair and kind but Bob is rude and I avoid him at all costs. I find that horrible considering that the property manager should be the person you can go to. He has never been polite to me or my neighbors and he does not take the time to help with situations. For Village Green being such a large corporation you would think they would have a more rigorous screening process for employees, especially those with a high position. My neighbors are rude and always smoking marijuana as well as being disrespectful. My car was broken into twice! And parking is always a nightmare! My apartment had water leaking in through the walls due to rain, thw whole property is going downhill. I have always had problems with my sink and no matter how much draino or maintenance calls it takes hours to go down.

Horrible place
I live in a 2 bedroom apt with my husband, we both do not like it here for these reasons: THE FREE GYM SUCKS. They have a "free 24 hour gym" that is the size of a small bedroom. Never clean the machines. Only run the a/c when you ask them to. You can't work out there at night because its so hot you suffocate. I saw a lady almost pass out because it got too hot in there, the windows didnt help either. It should be left on ALL DAY since we pay so much rent to live here. STAFF HAS HORRIBLE ATTITUDE, mainly the ----headed guy. Seems like a real jerk and very arrogant. Why? I don't know. But you ask him ANYTHING and he gives off a cocky attitude and like your bothering him. He acts like he has the biggest "----" in the world. And Im sure the ------ chick is having sex with him. Its obvious. They dont help you when things break. The only people who are nice are the 2 new guys they hired and the 2 white guys that are maintainance staff that drive the golf cart around, they are very helpful. But the --- headed guy needs to go. WALLS ARE SUPER THIN, I can literally hear the neighbors around me using the bathrooms, I can hear them peeing, farting and flushing. Which isnt their faults we are human and Im sure they hear me and my husband too. But walls shouldnt be this thin for the price we pay. NEIGHBORS, most of them have good 9-5pm jobs. Those neighbors are usually nice. But its the godd@mn college kids they have been renting out to. 5 in a 2 bedroom apt. Like filthy cockroaches.

Not Good
It seems that no one watches their kids, i'm living with a bunch of white trash red necks, most of the need to figure out that the trailer court is down the road not here. Most of them a dis respectful to the adults around the complex. As for Bob, the head manager here, he is the biggest --- hole i have ever met in my life, where did they find this guy? Did they find him in some dumpster downtown Chicago? he doesn't give a F#ck about anyone living here. luckily they hired another guy, he seems to be a little more educated in customer service than Bob. During the winter I actually have ice that forms on my windows inside the apartment and the drafts are soooo bad. Parking here is a -----, the whole place smells like Sh#t, Secruity here is the worst, our front door doesn't even lock, so anyone can walk into my building. The walls are too thin and the floors are way, way,way to thin. You can hear everything. If you like burn outs then you are living in heaven, all i hear all night are white trash kids peeling out in the parking lot. don't even think about moving here, this place is a Sh#t hole. They keep the outside up, but the customer service here is this pits. The only complement i can give is that the young guys living up stairs have been nothing but respectful and nice to me. One last thing, They do not screen who they rent to like they told me when i was signing the lease. I will regret living here everyday of my life and i hope that they eventually tear this place down or turn it into public housing, because its well on its way to being the best public housing offered in IL

Plenty of cabnit space what are you storing
I see all these people complaining about cab nit space and i don't understand it at all. There are 18 cab nits and 4 drawers in my kitchen. We have a total of 4 closets, One walk in, 2 normal sliding door, and a hall closet. What are all you people trying to store. The Manager guy is really kind of a ---- he blames everything on the student tenets even if it has nothing to do with them. My apartment has had the police called on it for a noise complaint when everyone was sleeping. So, if you are a student you are not well liked around here. Also they have a club house that has little snacks and stuff but no one really pays attention cause they let all the little ------ kids take all the freaking cookies so there are never any when i stop by to play pool on the crappy pool table or to swim and the kids are not around parents at all. The hot tub is super hot now which is good they have fixed that wonderfully. The have been break ins to cars and smashed windows, lucky no one in my apartment. You can hear everything that is going on in the apartments above you( Lucky me i am on top floor) I only know cause i am friends with the people under me. The pond in the back is full of garbage it certainly need s to be cleaned. Other then that the complex looks nice the walls in the apartment buildings are painted often and the grass mowed every Thursday. The complex is kept up well and offers some outdoor activities. The maintenance takes care of things pretty quick if you notify them. This place has it's flaws but most of them have to do with the People the buildings are pretty good except for the thin floors.

Thanks Fordham Glen
I've been living here for just over a year and have been absolutely thrilled with the apartment and the care and dedication of the managment. After reading some of the reviews I was determined to offer my own opinion. In the time I've been here I have met some great neighbors the kind you would exchange keys with in case of emergency's. The maintenance staff has been outstanding on every issue I have had. Once one of the maintenance staff even took my garbage out for me on his way out from a service call!!!! Are you kidding me!? You just don't find that kind of help anymore. Love the staff here. Village Green has a wonderful property here and they keep making it better. Recently there have been many new renovations and they look great. I went in to pay my rent and the club house was completely remodeled. It was fine before but they obviously care about keeping up with grounds. I was very surprised by some of the other reviews I've read. I live here with my daughter and we sometimes in the evening walk the property as it has a lovely path surrounding the community and I can honestly say I have never seen or heard any of the things mentioned in the other reviews. I would have to hypothsize that these are people who either didn't pass the FICA score to rent or otherwise they are people who ask for way too much. In fact while walking through the community I have met a great number of people with children or dogs and everyone has been friendly and approachable. I really love this place and I will continue to stay and recommend it to others until the day I buy a house. Thank you Fordham Glen.

rude staff
staff is very snippy. all they want is there money, and they could give a crap about their residents. they rent to just about anybody, and there are parties going on all the time. once time there was a party going on. they were located on the 2nd floor facing the parking lot, and they starting chucking beer bottles at the cars below them!! there have been car break-ins numerous times. the police circle the community 3 times a day. wouldn't you feel safe?? that just makes you feel that the staff isn't telling you anything! rent is way too high to live here, and it's honestly not worth the money!
