Home Sweet Home
Wonderful place to live. Quiet, clean, and safe community. The maintenance problems that occured (minimal) were handled within a day. Management is available to take your call 7 days a week. Just a great place to live!

IT´S HOME!
I have lived in Fordham for quite a few months. I have found the Office staff very friendly, helpful, respectful and extremely accomidating to my needs. They are a group of wonderful ladies that I am grateful to know. They have made my transition from a house to an apartment, a very pleasant experience.

The maintenance guys are superb. Like minute men, they are there when you need them and they do an exceptional job on any repair. They are also out in the wee hours of a very frigid winter morning, shoveling and salting the walkways, so that we residents can get to our vehicles safely. They also work very hard keeping the grounds looking pleasant.

The people that work here feel like their family. Although business is business, their attitudes never change once you become a resident. They ALWAYS have a kind word, words of encouragement, or even all those beautiful smiles and a simple hi, how are you? can get you through a no-so-good day.

I would recommend Fordham to anyone who is looking for an apartment. It´s Home!!

Love it here
We have lived here for 2 years now. We love it here. We read some of the negative reviews, and we are shocked about them. The office staff is great and the grounds are kept up nice. Parking is fine, day or night. The complex is well lit and we feel safe here. We would recommend this complex to everyone.

An overall good experience!
I´ve been here for a total of nearly eight years in two different apartments -- and I´ve been treated royally.
Maintenance has always been timely and courteous.
Management is quite competent and helpful.
For the past 3 years I´ve rented a garage, but before that had mostly good luck with parking.

Would live here again!
I lived in two different buildings once in a 2bed/2bath and then in a 1bed/1bath. Both units were very nice upon move in and the staff made the switch as easy as possible for me. I have a dog and realize that sometimes the poop can get out of control, but the fact that I was even allowed to have a dog in an apartment and that there was a nice walking path which was an added bonus!! Not to mention I did not have to pay a monthly pet fee!!
Whenever I had a maint. issue in my apartment it was handled in a relatively timely manner. Whenever I got home late at night I could usually find a spot pretty close to my building. Whether I was walking my dog late at night or walking in from the parking lot I NEVER had a bad experiance or felt unsafe, which is extremely important to me as I am a single female. I had the most beautiful flowering tree outside of my balcony and I will miss seeing it bloom this year1

I personally think they over charge people big time!! Management sucks!!! These apartments at one time looked great and grounds looked nice, not anymore. The manager really let go of the place. I am very embarressed to even say that I lived here. I think they should find new management and start giving this place a major face lift. Also, if u decide u want to rent here ask them if their r any problems with parking if they say "NO", they are WRONG!!!! parking is #1 problem and #2 is DOG POOP everywhere. Also, the Noise level is terrible. This complex needs major help and bad! Oh, one more thing when they get your apartment ready before u move in and it needs stuff like broken drawers to be replaced be careful cause they replace your stuff with leftovers from different apts. Make sure You fill out that sheet
that says everything wrong with your apt and save a copy cause their will be alot u will fill out and keep your copy cause they will probabley misplace it. They have idiots working in the office!!! Just beware You will be in for a scare. One more note, Maintenance can only do so much if management wasnt so cheap. The poor guys are all doing things the best they can for so little stuff they have to work with.I sure hope u think about it before u come live here.

Terrible place to live!!!
I have lived here for about a year and a half. I have had nothing but problems with the management and with the people who live here. They over charge for the shoeboxes they call apartments and you get nothing for your money. Parking is horrible at any time of the day, the walls are paper thin, almost to the point that you can hear people sneeze and cough in the next apartment. Some people with dogs feel it unnecessary to leash their animal and think it is ok for them to poop anywhere they want and they think picking up is optional! You also shouldn´t even call and complain to the "property manager" she doesn´t care about her tenants and does absolutely nothing to accomidate her tenants! I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone!

nice apartments but crappy managment. Seriously CRAPPY!!!!!!
As I said, this is a nice apartment but it is all looks and no substance. In the time I have lived here my dishwasher and laundry machine/dry have both broken. For each instance it took over a month and a half to get the problem corrected. My door intercom almost never works and this is after the whole system was “upgraded and modernized.”

With the exception of a few others and myself no one with a dog that lives here cleans up after their dog. See for yourself. Go to the field between the apartments and North Avenue or go to the grass island just northwest of the clubhouse. Speaking of dogs, my dog has been attacked by other tenant’s dogs on three separate occasions. Most of the people who live here feel they must have a big dog too. There are lots of Rottweilers, German Shepards, and other assorted large dogs. I like big dogs too, but these apartments are far too small for them. What is worse is that several people have two of these large dogs. Oh, and one more thing, not many people here believe that their dog does not need to be on a leash even though it is a law.

And now cats for but a minute… There are several cats that roam around the grounds. So if you have a dog, watch out when you walk it.

Now lets talk about the management staff… The level of incompetence simply defies belief. I am looking to get into a house. I ran out of time and had to renew my lease. So I sign the new lease, and a few days later after the manager signed it my copy arrived at my apartment. A few weeks later I get a call from the office asking me if I had signed and turned in the lease. I said yes. They then asked me to bring in my copy, I did. As it turns out they had lost their copy of my lease. Really nice. I do a lot of online shopping mostly for tech manuals. I am a network engineer. The office will accept packages when you are not home. This is a great feature, or so I thought. So far they have misplaced my parcels on four different occasions only to find them later. One time, one box stolen right out from under their “watchful eyes” and taken into the bathroom at the clubhouse, opened and rifled through. Fortunately for me, once the person found it to be a box of computer geek books they cut and run leaving the contents alone. I know because I found it.

And now to safety… For a while I had an old beater car that I used to get back and forth to work so I could save miles on my good car. During its time at this complex it was broken into, on another occasion its door handle was broken off, and to add insult to injury the management staff, in it infinite wisdom, decided that I had not moved the car for too long a period and so they put a huge neon orange towing sticker on it. This happened despite the fact that I registered the car with them; it had a parking sticker, was operational, and had plates. All they had to do was look at their stupid spreadsheet. The path around the complex is not well lit on the far side away from President Street. So if you go for a walk late at nite take the mace just in case.

As I said, I had to renew, albeit mostly out of my own laziness. Not again, I would live out of my car first! Other than being a total CRAPHOLE this is a great place to live.

Nice Apartments
These are some very nice apartments. Though the parking lot could use a bit of work. Coming home after 10 PM could be problematic as you may have to park on the other side of the complex and walk a bit. Central heating and AC was a major plus. Washer and dryer which is another major draw.
