The Creeks is a nice decent but cosy complex. Its location is very attractive to a certain degree it makes you feel as though you are sitting on top a mountain so to speak. The creeks does have a slight flaw with location its located rite next to the highway which brings uncontrolled noise, but for the most part i have been here since october of last year and i must say that it is a very quiet place with a caring staff that wants to make sure your stay here at the creeks is the best one you can or will experience.

Lived here for about a year. The air conditioning doesn't work, there is mold in my ceiling from the drip pans, and there have been times when I haven't had hot water. The maintenance workers "fix" a problem, but it reappears a few days later. Don't be fooled by the random "good" reviews that have been placed lately. This place is a $#! hole.

I have recently moved into The Creeks Kirklevington Hills, and have been very impressed so far. My townhouse is spacious, well taken care of and clean upon moving in. The closet space is phenominal. There is ample parking, and everything is very well lit.

I visted the Creeks on Kirklevington a couple of weeks ago while looking for a townhouse, and instantly knew it was where I wanted to live. The staff was helpful and friendly, and found my fiance and I exactly what we needed. The complex has wonderful amenities and has been recently rennovated, and is a great value for the price. When looking for an apartment or townhouse in Lexington, be sure to consider this property!

I have grown up in Lexington and out of all of the apartments for rent in Lexington these are the best as far as price and quality. I love the staff that I met and the layout. The apartments are very cozy and the community has great amenities.

Before moving from Ithaca (NY) to Lexington (KY), I didn't get chance to view the apartment- The Creeks on Kirklevington. I first saw their online advertisement, then one of their staff memebers helped me to describe all features and amenitiesover phone. After I made decision, the apartment was reserved according to their policy. There was a little confusion about returning one of my phone calls (regarding kitchen utilities) before my coming. But, overall the staff members are very nice and friendly, they helped me with completing all the paperworks very professionally. On my arrival date, I was given opportunity to look through the apt. before signing the lease. There is little more scope of improvement of their service regarding any issues in the apartment, but my overall experiences with this apartment in past one week is very positive.

I'm a new tenant moving in this month, and I've been very impressed by the apartment complex, staff and amenities available at The Creeks @ Kirklevington. The units are well designed and appropriate for the tenants & site. The staff are very friendly and communicative. The amenities include the basics (on-site laundry) and some pleasant extras like a community workout room, lounge and outdoor grill.

I just moved in Friday, 3 days ago, but I like it so far. The office staff is very friendly. The layout of the buildings is nice so that only the kitchen and bathroom back up to someone else. There are sliding glass doors from both the bedroom and the living room that go out onto the patio. The kitchen opens up into a nice dining area, my only complaint is that I wish there was more cabinet space. It is winter but the pool area looks very nice and has a bar area with a grill.

Great place to live
I moved to Lexington in August and have been very happy at the Creeks. You will be hard-pressed to find a friendlier office staff in the city and the owner has worked very hard since buying the property to make it a top-notch complex. The amenities are wonderful. There have been many great upgrades to the property and each individual apartment. The apartments are very spacious for the money. I would highly recommend the Creeks!

Not so bad...
I wasn't here when the old management was here but I can tell that things have changed, or they must have, because all of the old complaints about the place don't seem to fit anymore. I moved in with my fiance the beginning of July, the air upstairs and downstairs is great, the pool area is fantastic, the parking is adequate and there are plans to give residents permits in the near future so bums can't park in the paying tenant spots. The owners are very nice and actually do some of the work themselves! The day we moved in and were signing our lease, the owner of the complex greeted us personally with heavy construction boots on and dust on his clothing. It really said a lot about him to me! He personally shows apartments when the office staff is busy and always greets myself and my fiance by name! It's pretty amazing that someone can remember all of that information with how many people they have living here! There are a few minor problems with our apartment itself but the office staff is aware of them and always prompt about responding to issues. Some issues they can't fix, such as how badly it was painted on the inside or the fact that the workers recycled the old padding and it caused some stains to leak upwards onto the carpet. The shower leaked pretty bad when we moved in but they fixed that. It is well lit, feels safe and welcoming. I think I'll renew my lease.

Motivated and High Professional Management Team
A new owner purchased this complex a fews months ago. The upgrade includes central heat and air, new decks, renovated pool and exterior grounds. He seems to be really motivated to make this a fun and comfortable community. It is a really good value. Utilities are included and the rent is very reasonable. I would recommend this to college students and young professionals.

Total Remodel on the way VERY soon!
There is some very good news about to happen at Kirk Hills! Extreme makeover and management is about to rock the place and make it one of the coolest places to live in south Lexington. Boiler Chillers-Gone! New heating and air along with clean new interiors. The clubhouse will rock like Drakes. Get in line now, apartments will be in demand here. KDS.

Never again! TOTAL HELL
I lived here from Sept. 2008-Apr. 2009. It had the poorest management I have ever seen!!! There are quite alot of reason why I would never EVER live here again, nor would I even want my worst enemy to. 1) Parking: When we (my fiance and I) first spoke to a leasing agent she said that the parking by the apartment buildings is for residents and the parking on the other side is for guests. This was not marked of course. At first, the parking was ok. But then after about a month, parking became a nightmare if you came home any time after 7 PM. Since the place is college party central, the parking lot would be so full that I had to park at the opposite end of the facility and walk on poorly lit sidewalks. 2) Maintenance: HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! When we 1st moved in, only 2 outlets in our living room worked out of 4 and the switch for the balcony light was next to the front door (this switch also controlled an outlet in the living room). So I called maintenance and they said, "This is the cheapest way to wire a place." Nice. When I called to say that my fridge was leaking on the inside, they showed up with another fridge without any notice. So I had no where to put the food and there was alot of furniture in the way. So I just told them to take it back. I caught the liquid (water?) in a cup that I emptied every now and then for many months. 3) Neighbors: Now, I know alot of people on here complain about their neighbors but did you have a leasing agent live above you? Yeah, one of the leasing agents moved in above us after we lived there for a few months. She was ultimately the reason why we had to leave. She had loud, rowdy, drunken parties almost every day, but especially on weekends. These parties consisted of loud music until 4AM and lots of banging and crashing and running around crazily. The have a courtesy officer (which was a total joke. He was just a little rent-a-cop who was never in town) who we are supposed to call for noise complaints. Well, we called on her and he went up there and they giggled and laughed and he left and the noise continued. So we decided to bypass him and call the REAL police. Well, we complained on our neighbor at least 6 times, and nothing ever changed. If anything, it got much, much, much worse. Neighbors Pt. 2: So when we first moved in, out of the 4 apts on the ground floor we had one (and the only nice neighbor) had the one across from us. The units above and below us were empty as well. So, after a few months the leasing agent moved above us. Then this group of college students moved in directly across from us, and another directly below us. Well, the guys across from us decided that they wanted to lean against OUR door and smoke. My fiance and I are not smokers and what's worse is that our front door had NO insulation. There was a railing next to our door for the stairs that lead to the units below us and they would lean on that as well. And I'm talking about them being about 6 inches away from our door. They were always smoking and talking about really disgusting things and spitting. They would also engage in loud sexual activity around dinner time in their kitchen. It was so loud that we couldn't even enjoy dinner in our own kitchen without being disgusted. The people below us had a large sound system and would play movies, video games, and music really loud at night. Eventually, we were so concerned with our safety (especially since the leasing agent had very sketchy people over constantly) that we decided to install a small security camera. My fiance is tech-savvy so we got a small camera just to watch our apartment while we were gone. We put it on the door frame on our front door so that we could see anyone who approached the door. Of course, this really pissed off our neighbors who thought we were spying on them. We weren't spying, we were just watching our door in case one of our crazy neighbors tried to rob us or something. The upstairs neighbors mooned it, and our across neighbors put out cigarettes in our peep hole. Eventually, our across neighbors came over one day and broke it off its little mount. What was funny is that we saw their face as the went in to their apartment and then they covered their face as the broke our camera. Idiots! The office told us to take it down because "tenants don't like being watched as they get their mail." Are you kidding me? We can't read the mail! So we took it down. Now, one of the buildings at Kirklevington Hills was burned down several years ago by a tenant or something (there's a big gap where it used to be). So when our neighbors across from us started a fire a foot away from their door outside we panicked! They got really drunk and caught a pile of papers on fire and were feeding the flames with an aerosol hairspray. We're talking 2 foot flames here. So we called the fire department ASAP. They hid in their apartment and pretended to be asleep. The fire dept. didn't buy it and chewed them out about catching things on fire. They made up some sob story and lied about it, of course. Neighbors, The leasing agent, cont.: So besides the parties, our neighbor got a puppy. She would lock that poor thing out on the balcony all day long whether she was there or not. I had to listen to that poor puppy cry all day and scratch at the door. As an animal lover it was hard for me to deal with. I almost called animal control, but never did. Since the poor thing was locked outside so much, it pooped all over her balcony, which then went through the gaps in the wood to our balcony. One time, we saw her purposely sweep poop onto our balcony. And another time someone from her apartment threw a remote at our balcony. We weren't sure if it was intentional or not but we never gave it back to her. 4) The Utilities: Ok, so they pay the utilities. Sounds great, right? DON'T FALL FOR IT! You'd be better off paying them yourself. You see, they use boilers and chillers for their heating and air. So it's 6 months heat/ 6 months air conditioning, despite the weather. So sure enough during the winter it blew out air conditioning for a month, and during the summer it blew out heat for a month. And everytime they switch from boilers to chillers or vice versa, they bust the pipes! 5) The Manager: So, when we met the manager of Kirklevington Hills, she seemed nice. But after a while we realized she was totally useless and no help at all. She NEVER did anything about any of our neighbors, especially the leasing agent. After several complaints she gave us her personal cellphone number in case we had any problems. One night when our leasing agent neighbor was blaring her loud music, I texted the manager who responded, "(neighbor) isn't even home." And I responded, "Uh, I can hear her walking around." Within 5 minutes, the music stopped and the stomping (obviously from anger) began. That was the last time the manager ever responded to me. In the end, we threatened to break our lease and possibly sue them. To which they offered us a townhouse for a reduced price. We had a one bed, one bath for $590 and they were offering us this townhouse for like $800 until our lease went up. Well, this was April and our lease ended in October. After that they said it would go back up to full price. Some deal, huh? We declined because we knew we'd still be dealing with the same staff, the same people, and the same problems. We broke our lease at the end of April by sending them a nice letter that said, more or less, "Here's the keys, here's a months rent, let us leave without trouble and we won't sue you for all we paid for rent and then some." We left May 1, 2009 and we never heard from them again. So please, PLEASE don't live here unless any of the people in this review sound like your type of people. Thanks for reading

NOT SAFE!!!!!!!!
I have been miserable for the entire time that I have been here. I have had to call the cops several times for people fighting at all times of the night. I am a student and have been kept up by neighbors for several nights in a row. Recently the machine that you have to use to put money on your card for laundry has been broken for 3 weeks. Also, unless you go to work after 10am or get off before 5pm you can't go into the office. And if you're off for lunch there is nothing you can do, because it's locked with no one around. Also the residents have recently become really sketchy. I do not feel safe going out side at night and unless I absolutely have to I won't. As a single woman I would never want someone else to feel as unsafe as I do here. As soon as my lease is up, I am out of here.

KLH is a summer night mare..!
I have lived at KLH for about 6 months now.. at first I was really satisfied with everything- loved my apartment & it's surroundings.. however now I've came to realize that it's all just a joke. My bathroom door didn't close completely when I moved in- I looked over this b/c to me it was no big deal.. Maintenance came and fixed after a week or two.. again- I looked over this also. However when Spring/Summer began my apartment was always really hott because the air is never working. We could not open our patio door because we have a dog and he would run out- we didn't have a screen on our door even though they have been promising since DEC we would get one by spring. Still, no screen. We are mid-summer and the pool is not even open yet- They actually just now have taken the covering off of the pool but it's caked with dirt so who knows when they will get around to cleaning it. Every other complex around us already have their pools up and running and ours isn't. The winter months were fine here because the heat seemed to work fine. So if your not big on a/c and nothing tears up in your apartment you should be fine. The price is really good here but I'd rather pay a little more and get something that actually satisfies me. Whenever my lease is up I'm outta here!!

OH My God!!
I don't know where to start. The apartments are molded do to a boiler chiller system that is way out dated. They decide when you get heat and A/C (so don't count on much). There is totally no upkeep. They don't even change light bulbs outside so stay in at night. The pool is nasty and I wouldn't chance getting in. The tanning bed is never clean and bulbs are as old as the apartments (don't have to worry about a burn though, even after 30 mins). The staff is a JOKE! They will tell you they are working on it when they really never are.

Move in if you like being NEGLECTED!
This place sucks! Seriously, don't move in. The tenants are downright neglectful and never get things done. I see where there were only 2 positive reviews out of how many? I think that the landlords need to quit leaving themselves good feedback. This place sucks ---. Of course all of your stuff is going to work great when you work in the front office and live here. Give me a break. Not to mention WATCH YOUR STEP because if you try to do laundry at night, there are no lights next to a steep stairway. ---- this place!

Most awful apartment experience!
Yes, I agree with the last post. I moved out 16 months ago and have not received my deposit back. (nor will I ever I presume). I have contacted the office by phone, in person, and by letter with no response. They admit they owe me the money also, but have to get the "owner" to cut me a check. Also, when you move out don't stress too much about cleanliness because they will mark off for "fake" reasons as to why your deposit has been deducted. (The deposit you will never get back). My apt. was cleaner when I moved out than when I moved in but was told the stove wasn't cleaned....etc...etc....just of bunch of bull.

Horrible!!!
I lived here for 3 years while in Lexington. In this time we had plumbing problems, loud neighbors, mold, and slow maintenance. In reference to plumbing problem, I'm talking about the neighbors bath water filling our bathtub. The complex insisted on trying to fix this themselves, however always ended up needing to call a plumber. This would take days and at one point we showered while standing in a bucket to avoid the gross water. Lovely, right. It's a flaw in the plumbing of the townhouses I was told. We are happy to be gone now but once you leave, kiss your security deposit and any other money they owe you goodbye. We have been fighting for 6 months with the management. They admit they owe us the money but just will not send it. They do not return phone calls or emails. Stay away from this apartment complex and save yourself a lot of headaches.

you must be crazy then!
I have lived here for a little over 3 months and I love it! Everything in my apartment works wonderfully, and the neighbors are the best. Parking is never an issue, unless someone is hosting a party, but still the guests usually park near that apartment and not right in the middle of our spots. The seasons are changing and so the air is turned off, until the 16th so the heat can be turned on. I was confused why my air was shut off, but the LandLord explained it and all was cleared up. I am moving actually to a town house in KLH, next month, and there is no transferring fee. My one bedroom is more than enough space, but my best friend will be moving to LEX and we are pumped about moving in together. The townhouses are 1200 square feet. And you just have to see it to believe how efficient a the space they offer. The leasing consultants are always there to help you, I called and they didn t answer. I drove up to see what was going on, and she said Mondays and Fridays here other worker is at the other property. So, all that nonsense about them screening their calls is a bunch of crap. All you have to do is walk up there, which isn t that far at all, and there they are waiting to help you and answer all your questions. This place is the best, and the lowest and reasonable price, for *rent * ALL utilities (water, gas, electric, sewer, trash pick up) *parking is free (my old place charged $100.00 for your pass) *and its located in Kirklevington, which is an upscale neighborhood. * large and well kept up apartments and townhouses *workout, and tanning *pool So basically this place went through a lot to get where its at now, there is new management, and the fires are done with, and the person who set the fires will be prosecuted. I recommend this to anyone and everyone! Come check it out! I promise you ll love it, or you re crazy!

amazing place
this apartment community is great, unless you complain about everything, then i'm sure you have had the worst time. The staff is amazing, and really care about their residents, and also your safety, and the community being kept clean. i love living here, everyday its like a vacation, seriously, because the balcony, and the comfort that the only sound you would hear is the person behind your apartment. and i am loving the carpet, walls, new ceiling fans, and 3 closets all to myself. the utilities being included helps so much with the rent cost. i have a cat and so my monthly rent is $560.00 plus the $20.00 for my cat, so obviously the total comes to $580.00. if you like living in luxury, then you will love living here. thanks!
