I really like the apartment. Quiet and homely and the pool is nice. Ian was really helpful when I moved in. I came in from overseas, landed a little late at the airport but Ian waited after hours to give me the keys. That was huge for me. 5 Stars...

I have lived in this community for 2 years. It was great the first 6 months, then new mgmt came and they are bringing in very shady people. I have seen fights, people dealing drugs and strong whiff of marijuana when i walk outside. High school teenagers bullying my 10 year old and trying to spit at me. I have called 911 numerous times. People smoke in the breezeways, hallways, balconies even though these are no smoking zones and throw cigarette butts everywhere. My kids almost stepped on broken glass near the playground. People leave trash outside, and loiter in the playground and hallway steps. I have complained several times about these issues via e-mail, in person and all I get "don't worry,, we'll handle this issue.. or call the police because we can't do anything about that" but they never do. The last straw was when there was a gunshot at 10:30PM on a wednesday night that went through the ceiling of our neighbor's 2 yr old bedroom. Of course, police showed up after the fight was over and the gun was nowhere to be found. Happy to say I'll be leaving at the end of this month.

I lived in Northlake for 2 years and loved it! The community is well kept and quiet. The elementary school was just a short walk from our doorstep which was great for us! The interior has been recently ungraded and looks great (light fixtures, countertops and appliances). Service requests were always addressed promptly. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We loved the 24 hr gym. If you like privacy and nice views I would definitely suggest requesting an apartment that faces the woods :) The only reason we moved is because of our growing family, we needed more space. I would highly recommend this community!

I have lived at Northlake Apartments for the past 5 years and it is a wonderful place to live. There is a 24 hour gym an awesome swimming pool, and my sons school is literally right next door. The staff is very nice and know my kids names by heart. They are awesome! Also, The landscaping is well kept and it is a wonderful place for kids.

I will be leaving Northlake shortly, after living here for about four and a half years. Overall I have been very pleased with the apartment and the community and am only moving because of work. I have always found the staff to be very cordial and cooperative.

If I could give 0 stars to these apartments I would. I have been living in this community for about 3 years (honestly I don't even know why) and the staff has changed more than 6 times. For about 6 months we had the best manager, Amanda, but unfortunately she went somewhere else. We currently have a "manager" whose policy to handle noisy neighbors is by sending e-mails, which probably go to these neighbors' junk mail and don't even bother. Throughout these years, I have seen fights in the hallways, parking lots, balconies, domestic violence, drug dealers where my next door neighbors for a while until they got evicted after complaining for about a month. A couple who fights every weekend in the balcony. I have called 911 numerous times, and of course the cops show up after the fight is over. People smoke in the breezeways, hallways, balconies even though these are no smoking zones. These breezeways are cleaned maybe once a month if the maintenance guys have the time for it. I have complained several times about these issues via e-mail, in person and all I get "don't worry,, we'll handle this issue" but they never do. Happy to say I'll be leaving at the end of this month.

I lived here for 5 years and was generally very happy with the overall arrangements. Parking was not always the most accomodating, but requesting a reserved spot was ideal for me. They are diligent with towing, which I liked, given the limited unassigned spaces. Staff and maintenance were fantastic, professional and responsive. Apartment living comes with the stipulation of sharing close spaces with people you may/may not care for, but the few minor noise distruptions were dealt with timely and accordingly. While there is always a bad seed in the bunch, which management can't always control, the tenants were respectful. Rent was generally comparable, or cheaper than surrounding places, but the secluded nature of the complex appealed to me as well. I didn't like the unreasonable month-to-month options after the lease renewal. Lease increases were in line with regulations and were standard every lease term. Location was central to necessary shopping, dining, freeways and schools, but being secluded enough not to hear it all. Parking lot could have been better lit, and as a female walking in at night, I was forced to be more aware of my surroundings.

The worst community I have ever lived in. You can hear every movement and noise from your neighbors. I have only lived here for 2 months and have had to make several complaints to the leasing office about how disturbing and loud our neighbors are. They don't care and won't do anything about it. I was told that I just have to deal with it.

I moved to Northlake after it was recommended to me by a colleague. There are many positive things about this complex. The apartment layout I was shown was what I am renting- there are no last minute switches. The pictures of units shown on the website are exactly when it looks like inside. Everything is pretty new or updated (siding on buildings, appliances, cupboards, etc.) and there is a digital thermostat. The staff is very helpful. Whenever I ve had packages delivered by the time I walk into the office to pick them up someone has already found my box. The staff knows you by name and takes a few minutes to chat and see how you re doing. The application process/approval process went very smoothly and quickly. There are many trash containers throughout the complex and they are emptied regularly- I have never seen piles of trash or recyclables. Everything is well lit and the neighborhood is pretty safe as there are schools nearby. Parking is usually pretty close to your building unless you come home late at night. Even if I get home around 11pm I still have a decent parking spot as I ve never had to walk more than a few minutes to my building. There is not a pantry in the kitchen but this can be remedied by adding some shelves or a hutch or something. The noise is pretty much nonexistent. I never hear my neighbors except when they run the bathroom vent fan. I don t hear music or TV coming through the walls. Even thought my unit faces the parking lot I don t hear many traffic sounds, though I do live on the 4th floor. It is also pet friendly.

I've lived here since October, 2012, and continue to be amazed at the friendliness of the staff(both office and maintenance) who have been unbelievably helpful when I've had maintenance issues in my apartment. Although I can hear the neighbors outside, it is usually not an issue, and my neighbors have never complained about my crazy workouts at 6:00 in the morning. I have never had a problem finding parking...at the most, I've had to walk maybe 100 feet...not a big deal. Online rent payment and a (small) fitness center are convenient. The resident portal is also very cute...I just wish more people used it. My only complaints would be the wildlife (spiders, grasshoppers, beetles) that sometimes make their way into my apartment (but considering the style of the apartment, it's unavoidable) and poor communication(my old apartment used to put notices in the hallways and under all of our doors for important information, but here, they only email you and sometimes post a sign in the hallway, which is easy to overlook). If management focused a little more on communicating important information to residents (such as annual or bi-annual water/electric/smoke detector inspections), I'd have no complaints. I love it here.

I am writing this review as I can claim that I have had the worst experience living in this community. This is how it starts: 1. CAR BROKEN INTO-A cop woke me up one morning to tell me that my car was broken into. The management as usual gave the cold shoulder and explained how in the real world incidents like this happen everyday and so happened to your car unfortunately. I was asked to claim insurance for a broken glass which would cost the same as the deductible. 2. NOISE- My apartment is old but dressed up to look new. The floor creeks and every sound especially from the neighbors upstairs could be heard. Every step and every word could be heard and I wonder how well they could hear me. 3. DEFECTIVE APPLIANCES- The washer dryer is responsible for some of my expensive clothes being chewed up. After several complaints, they changed the plastic component in the washer and sanded the rough edges inside the dryer. While this resolved the problem, the management again gave me a cold shoulder on the damages to my clothes. Also the dishwasher does a mediocre job with the cleaning. 4. LEAKAGE -About four months ago there was a leak in the bathroom and luckily I was home when this happened. The water hookup in the toilet was dislodged and spraying all over the bathroom. It took me a herculean amount of strength to close the tap yet it kept leaking. By the next day the carpets and floors were all soaked. The service guy showed up and let the dryers go but I couldn't use the master bedroom and bath for 10 days and not to mention to live with the moldy smell. 5. 2nd LEAKAGE - About two months ago my neighbors upstairs had a leak and the water seeped in to the electrical outlets. When I came back and turned out the light I felt as if there was lightening and it wouldn't work. The floor was wet and I thought to myself not again. SO this time round the maintenance guy comes back and does the carpet all over again and removes the water from the light fittings (a possible electrocution hazard). The management could not care about my comfort or safety and was told to talk to my insurance company for any damages as they are not responsible. I felt as if I was too kind at the time and let it go. 6. VISITOR's CAR TOWED - The management was ok with my visitors parking in front of the leasing office if and when the visitors lot was full. It was Thanksgiving and my family was visiting and of course the visitors lot was full so I had them park in front of the leasing office only to have the car towed the next day. It cost around $165 to release the car but it left a great deal of embarrassment to me and inconvenience to the visitors. After a long discussion and letter, the management had me sign an indemnity bond and gave me a credit of $100. 7. PARKING - If you're lucky, parking is a couple hundred yards away to a minimum. Never have I returned at night to find parking in front of the apartment. To top it the management has an optional rent a spot for $40 a month in the same parking lot. I find a lot of things questionable especially when the rents here compare to premium dwellings in the area. The rent is definitely not worth the amount you pay. The electric bills are around $300 and water around $15. I haven't used the swimming pool or the gym ( tread mill and a stretch machine). The quality of construction is poor to say the least. The management pretends to be professional but there is lot to be desired in actions. The bottom line is rent here if there is no where else to go.

I've lived here for about 3 years now and this is one of the best places to live. The staff is excellent and spacious apts. The best part for me is the ease of paying rent online and putting in an issues with the apt online. They are very responsive and quick to help.

I have lived in Northlake Apartments for almost a year now and I am very happy here. After visiting a bunch of apartments when I moved here last year, I chose Northlake because the staff was so nice and considerate. I can honestly say that they really care about you and want you to have the best experience possible. Considering this area and what you get, I feel like the rent is definitely reasonable. My one bedroom apartment is very spacious and everyone who comes to visit comments on how large the space is. My neighbors across the hall are great (I don't really know the other ones) and the only noise I hear are people walking up the outside steps and people walking above me but it's not so bad that it's disturbing. Total silence in an apartment complex is completely unreasonable so I don't feel like it's too noisy at all. In my year at Northlake so far, the only problems I had were low water pressure and a sink issue which were fixed within a day. I've never had problems finding a parking spot, even late at night on a weekend. It might not be right in front of my apartment but it's not a far walk by any means. In general, I am very satisfied at Northlake and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in Germantown.

Ill be honest the floors are sqeaky the walls are paper thin the W/d is super small and the so-called 'fitness center' and 'business center' is a total waste of time. but keep in mind most equity residental properties are section 8 properties which means you may be the only renter paying the full rent. The reason I mention it is people that pay 400 a month seem to have a diffenrent standard of living than someone paying 1200 a month for the same unit Equity seems to tailor the property to the 400 a month renter. Tenant pay all utilities and parking is a joke since visitors park where they want and spaces in front of the buildings are 40 a month. Moving in is easy everything is done online deposit is low, which is the case for most Section 8 communities in MC. The staff is great until there is an issue then they transfrom into evil monster that want you bight your head off (my opinion). Do not expect to get what you pay for if you pay rent, to management all the tenants are section 8 and tenants grill on the balcony unleashed pets and unsupervised kids are everywhere. They will show you a model that is fully upgraded then move you into a unit that has not been upgraded make sure you see the unit you will be moving into before you sign the least all the units are different. there are 3 equity residental properties within a 5 mile radius if you insist on renting with equity residental in Germantown do not choose Northlake...or the location near Walmart (you should know better) matter of fact save your money and rent a two bedroom two bath for the same price. If you do move in do not move out cause it will cost you (BIG TIME)...they will find a way to keep your deposit even when you do everything correctly you will lose money. If you move in after reading this review and regret it (blame yourself)

Lived at Northlake for about two years now and am pleased with the atmosphere and the apartment. The staff does seem to go out of it's way to keep everything clean - something I can't say about the rest of the Germantown apartment complexes I visited. The apartment itself is clean and the appliances are modern. The only noise I ever hear are the other apartments doors slamming -- I don't know why some places insist on having doors that are on a spring, and, as a result often slam shut. The area is quiet -- aside from the train tracks behind the complex, but after the first few days I honestly didn't notice it. The area feels safe and is bordered by some woods. The staff have always been very responsive to my small requests for repairs and are actually very pleasant to deal with since they act very professional and you can communicate easily with them ( unusual in my experience. ) The yearly rent increase is a little on the steep side, but, considering the before mentioned cleanliness and quality of the apartments, I don't mind. There are some other complexes in the area which are more expensive, but, in my opinion, are much worse the Northlake in appearance. My only complaint revolves around the rather obvious revenue-generating concept of 'reserved' parking spaces - some of which used to be very poorly marked and practically invisible at night--I got towed. I have noticed, however that they have since painted the curbs to better mark the spaces.

My wife and I lived there this summer. Overall, this is a perfectly good apartment for young professionals and small families. The units are clean, all recently renovated from my understanding (ours was, with new appliances inside of a year), and the grounds are almost always maintained to a degree that you'll be very satisfied. The walls are fairly thin, but not uncommonly so and not to the point you'll notice unless there's a huge fight or super loud music next door. Management is excellent. Truly. ------, the apartment manager, is super on the ball, very upbeat, and she knows her stuff. Other staffers were also very helpful and polite. Expect 1-2 days for most maintenance requests. It's a huge complex, so there's a backlog from what I can tell. That being said, they were always honest about the time frame. During the summer there were two power outages unrelated to weather and they were quick to send out an email about it, offer information, timeframes, etc. Very dog friendly, but a couple things to be aware of - the dog clean up stations are rarely emptied. So be prepared to drop your bags in the main garbage dumpsters, or another station along your walk. The overall community seems safe, with a few randoms making you feel a bit uneasy. But that's what happens with 300-400 units. Our neighbors were all pleasant, and we never had an issue, but that's obviously not going to be the case for everyone. That being said, it was mostly families, young professionals, couples, etc. Complaints - people on the property would set out food for the stray cats. Bugged the ish out of me. My dogs would go crazy trying to get to the plates/bowls. Train tracks on teh backside of the apartment, and you WILL hear the train unless you're near the front drive of the complex. But it does tend to blend in after a week or so. Parking is tight, particularly if you get home late from work or activities. Be prepared for a fair walk from the front of the complex if you get home after 9 or so during the week. Overall, it's more than adequate and I'd almost say it's quality living for the price. The little things will nag but they always do in a huge apartment complex. You could do FAR worse.

The apartment is spacious and the area is very nice. It's very dog friendly which is great too. Just don't expect anything to be fixed if you move in. We have lived here for two months now and we are still waiting for someone to come fix our washing machine. It doesn't work at all so what's the point of having a private washer and dryer in your apartment when you have to go to the laundromat to wash clothes?

As a current resident here at Northlake, I have come across no problems. It's quiet and my neighbors are cool. I've come in at different hours during the night and I feel I make more noise locking my car than the entire area. The management staff has been quite friendly and was very quick on helping me with questions and concerns. I don't know what everybody is complaining about. I like it here.

So far so good
I recently moved into Northlake and here is my review. The apartment is very spacious and I love the master bedroom with the vanity area. I have a two bedroom one bathroom and it's only my daughter and I, so the space is perfect for us. The building we currently live in is very quiet and I have had the opportunity to meet my downstairs neighbor, which I must say they are very nice people. Its hard to find neighbors that actually speak to you. Most people stay to themselves. There is an elementary school right across the street from the apartments. This is s plus for me, because my daughter will begin Kindergarten this year. Also there is always plenty of parking. I can honestly say for now I really like this place. The only problems I have had with this place are the washer and dryers. Can you say very small!!! Also, the insulation in the carpets is pretty bad. but other then that I like this place and if everything goes well I will renew my lease.

Good apartment for the price
The apartment is pretty good for the price that I got for it. The maintenance is great and property managers really do all they can to make your stay great. The kitchen is furnished with fairly new equipment and has great floors and counter-tops. However, here are my problems: 1. The insulation sucks. If I leave the heat at 72 the apartment is okay in the kitchen and dining room, but the living room and bedroom are ice cold because the windows are way too big. While I would normally like large windows for light and a view and I could deal with it, I am on the first floor and would not like everyone to be able to see into my apartment. 2. Rather than replace the old closet shelves they just painted them with the same cheap paint as the walls. All you have to do is touch it with something sharper than cotton and it scrapes off. 3. There are some young families in the area, but everyone keeps to themselves. Also, there are some people who are a bit shady (dealing). 4. The parking is a nightmare for me. I work at a movie theatre, so by the time I get home I have to park all the way at the end of the parking lot, about 200 feet.

The only positive thing I could say about the community is the professionalism of the maintenance workers. Those guys do their best but sadly, the problems related to the community have nothing to do with them. My warning to prospective renters is that, you have to pay close attention to the negative reviews because they are real and not sour grapes. I ignored those reviews before renting in the community some few years ago and regretted my decision to rent in the community the very first night I stayed there. One critical issue which will bother every renter is the creaking floors of upstairs neighbors. The noise will be very depressing and there will be no way to solve it except for moving out. The walls and floors of the building were constructed with very cheap materials and as a result, everything little sound your neighbors make is transmitted through the walls and floors. My experience was not a happy one and I will not recommend it for anyone.

Do NOT live here
I moved into Northlake in early October. It is very loud in this building ALL the time. My upstairs neighbors play music at all hours of the night and even after complaining to management SEVERAL times, nothing has been done. Trust me, I have lived several places over the past couple of years through college and moving around for jobs and this place is by far the worst. If you enjoy ------ neighbors, then this place will be perfect for you. Also, management will expect you to get renters insurance but never tell you that you need it, then call you on a Tuesday during a holiday week threatening you if you don't have proof of insurance by Friday that you'll be in violation of your lease.
