I just signed my second year lease with Elizabeth Square. The reasons that I decided to stay include the incredible neighborhood and surrounding areas in walking distance, the nice clean and quiet location of my unit in the building, and the amenities like the gym and yoga room. I know they've been going through some transitions with the staff, so the service is getting better and any confusion with changing policies are being mitigated, and on top of that, they were very accommodating when I changed my mind and decided to stay in my apartment after the 60 notice to vacate window had expired. I would recommend this place to a friend.

My wife have lived in this apartment for two years and have had a great experience. The things that we have enjoyed the most is the courtyards and the dog park is very convenient that most places don't have. The pool is nice and we use the apartment grills frequently. Maintenance is very prompt and have never had an issue getting something addressed. The location is what made us move here in the first place and the plaza mid-wood area is a great neighbor hood to live in.

Be aware when you are applying on line the website has a desing error, the butons to continue are called "save and continue" i was just going through some apartments and decided wanted to check what my payment would be so i clicked " save and continue" . To my surprise it was the last option and boom my payment was taken $350 off my account gone, I contacted them just moments later to tell them to cancel that payment, here is their response "I received your email in regards to the form of payment used for the application and administration fee. As I mentioned to you over the phone we do not have access to change the form of payment nor can we stop the payment" so i called the bank put a stop payment and later found out they used a different name to proceed with the transaction, so now im $350 less from something im not using and with this experience I will never user, such an untrusting company that cant even keep their word is not worth giving my or anyones money very frustrating experience and I will never recomend this complex to anyone. now i hope they answer my emails and return my money .

Elizabeth square is an awesome place to live and minutes from uptown Charlotte. The residents make it a fun community to be a part of and the amenities are superb, ranging from the outdoor pool/grill area to the clubhouse and weight room inside. Along with that the staff are always helpful and friendly and make it a great place to live.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The gym is great even though I would like to see them get more free weights, which is a common issue at apartments. All of the people that my wife and I have met here thus far have been very friendly, the complex is not a college party atmosphere but more of a young professional to newlyweds type atmosphere. I do believe they need to do some work on the grill area and there is a water drain with standing water in it right where the grills are which happens to be a perfect breeding ground for mosquitos lol. But that's honestly the worst things I have to say about the place. My wife and I are very happy here, love the location and are very happy with staying here until we buy our own place some day. We came from Raleigh where we would switch apartments every year or two because they would up our rent so much or because we would run into some serious issues we could not deal with. We've been here for over a year now and just gladly renewed our lease.

I would highly recommend moving to this apartment complex. The staff is great and got me set up with the perfect apartment. They keep the building clean and do a great job with maintenance. They also have a lot of common areas where it is easy to meet other residents. This was especially important to me as I just moved to Charlotte from PA. I am so happy I picked Elizabeth Square as my home.

I have lived at Elizabeth Square for 2+ years and my experience has been nothing short of ideal. Location is awesome - bars, restaurants, great hair salon and grocery stores are all within walking distance. Most important, the location is super secure. All entries are gated and require key acces. The staff is very professional and helpful when it comes to anything from changing your lease term to making sure maintenance is scheduled promptly. Lastly, the amenities are great - pool, gas grills, dog area, private courtyards, gym, yoga studio, common game/gathering area. I would 100% reccomend.

I have lived at Elizabeth Square Apartments for a little over a month and my fiance has lived here for almost 4 months. We love the area in which it is located - close to restaurants, bars, near uptown and cute neighborhoods and parks where we can walk our dog. The staff has been friendly and helpful during our time here. We enjoy the events that have been organized by the staff - happy hours at local bars and yoga in the gym that is on the premises. We have not had the need to utilize maintenance yet, so that is positive. We have met many people who live in our building and they have all been friendly. We are very happy with our choice to live at Elizabeth Square Apartments!

The location is great. You can walk to a variety or restaurants, bars, nightlife attractions, and even the grocery. A few minutes from uptown, The Elizabeth neighborhood gives you a small town vibe. The grounds are beautifully kept, even being situated next to a major highway, you never hear the noise, even while outdoors. A train will pass a few times a day down the street, and you will hear that, but it doesn't like more than a minute or two. The staff is professional and always helpful along with the maintenance staff doing the same.

I have lived in this apartment complex for approximately 3 months and it has been great. I relocated for work and had to rent short term as well as transfer to a larger apartment mid-lease to accommodate a roommate. The staff has been extremely helpful and great to work with. Being located so close to the Plaza Midwood and Elizabeth neighborhoods, there is no shortage of things to do within walking distance. Great location.

Being in the multi-family housing industry requires the utmost skill in customer service. I do not live at Elizabth Square but had a very bad experience while visiting some friends today. The friends I was visiting and I were at the pool and another friend of ours walked in with some glass bottles. While we were trying to get them settled, a rude resident walked over and decided to point out to us that glass was not allowed. We ignored his ignorance and started to try to make accommodations to fix the situation. While we were doing this, the leasing agent at this community (who was using the pool as well), ----, walked over with some plastic cups in what I THOUGHT was a nice gesture ... That's where everything went down hill. He proceeded to tell us that we needed to put the case of glass bottles outside of the fence. While he was condescendingly demonstrating where to put them, he framed the "no glass allowed" sign and asked us " if we could read." He then proceeded to argue with member of our party. Now, being a property manager myself, I do understand that sometimes it's not always the easiest situation to deal with residents or guests who aren't familiar with policies.. HOWEVER, if MY leasing consultant had spoken to the residents or guests at my property the way ---- did, there would be some serious repercussions.'I don't know much about the management company at Elizabeth Square but if this is how they train their people, I will say no thank you!

Do not move here. My friends moved in and we were at the pool and one of the leasing agents (I think ---- is his name) was so disrespectful and condescending. I have never been talked to or treated so poorly. Coming from leasing and property management, myself and my group of friends were floored at the way he approached us. There is no need to come up to anyone and ask "can you read" or "do you see the sign."

I moved to Elizabeth Sq 3 weeks ago and I love it here. I feel completely safe and well looked after. I have met a couple of my neighbors who are super friendly and the staff are always around to help and make sure everything is in order. I have a one bedroom and it's the perfect size and super cozy. I only ever hear the person living above me and that's only occasionally. The area is great, with so many awesome places in walking distance. So far, so good!

I moved to Elizabeth Square in 2013 and love it! The price compared to uptown and south end is good and still in a really great location- there are lots of bars and restuarants in walking distance and it feels really safe. I can hear my neighbors pretty clearly, but that's anywhere. My biggest complaint would be the see through shades on the windows, but you can just hang your own curtains and it's fine. I will definitely resign another lease if I don't buy something!

After calling around Uptown, South End, and Plaza-Midwood, I finally decided to move in to Elizabeth Square Apartments. Being a person who takes reviews very seriously, I did my research across Charlotte and based my decision on Price (per Sq.Ft.), Amenities, Location and Quality. I priced out around 20 different apartment 'communities,' taking in to account the "extra" mandatory costs per month for things like valet trash, cable, internet, parking and other fees. On average I found Elizabeth Square to be at least $100 less than any other place I called, which isn't a big deal when you are already dishing out close to $1,000 for a one bedroom apartment anyway, but that extra $100 takes care of my valet trash, cable, very fast internet (I work from home and this is a must), and pest control which seems to be working very well. (They treat the exterior at least once a month and I haven't seen any bugs which was very surprising) The amenities are great - pool is big and very clean (I hear the pool parties are awesome from people that live here) and from my apartment balcony I can see Metro 808's mini-pool across the street where the rent is about $200 more -- I called them too -- makes me feel good about my decision haha. I work out a couple times per week and the workout room here is actually a workout room, not just a closet with a treadmill (happily cancelled my gym membership), gated parking structure with access directly to my floor and a couple other things like a pool table and community parties at different restaurants/bars around town. Relocating from Michigan three months ago, I didn't know anyone so the 'parties' are a great way to meet people. It may be because I am from the North, but everyone is so polite and nice to each other down South... kinda took a little bit to get used to but it is a relief! The property is always clean, even the parking garage. It's pretty obvious that everything was recently repainted because it looks very updated and modern. Whenever I put in a maintenance request for a light bulb or to paint the accent wall in my apartment, they were there the next day, if not the same day I put the request in. The front office staff and maintenance crew have always been very nice. When I first made the call to get more information about the place, they actually talked to me and let me ask questions instead of immediately begging me for my name and email address. Ryan, one of the front office staff, even went to the available apartment that I was looking at and took additional pictures of everything I asked him for and sent them to me because I was in Michigan still. Erica, Lauren and Ryan, the front office staff, have always taken care of whatever I can come up with. I don't feel like they are looking for things to charge me for - like some apartments I've lived in before. When I moved in, I smashed a glass light cover in one of the hallways - I felt bad so I told the office and they said "Thanks for being honest!" and that was that. It was fixed the next day. No charges. The apartments themselves are very nice - the floors are carpet and hardwood, counter tops are either white or black quartz and the cabinets are a dark wood - surrounding all of the matching stainless steal appliances - everything just blends really well. They have pictures on their website but I didn't actually believe what I was seeing until I checked it out for myself and I was quite surprised. Looks very high class. My favorite part is how tall the ceilings are though, makes everything look very spacious and open. Remember, I work from home... I am literally here, in my apartment, for 40 hours a week during the day for work. I notice everything and I see everything haha One of the most important decisions for me when I moved down here was location - I relocated here and didn't know anyone - for someone in their mid-20's I wanted to be in an area that I could go out and catch a live band and just be around other young professionals in general (Not college students), which is very hard to figure out if you have never been to Charlotte before. I am SO glad I am in the Plaza-Midwood area now. There is a bunch of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Noda is 8 minutes away, Uptown (Epicenter) is 1.6 miles away (20 minute walk or $5 Uber to Epicenter), South End is about 10 minutes away. I thought for sure I would be hanging around Uptown or Noda more often from what I heard before moving down here, but I have yet to get bored with all of the choices around here that are in stumbling distance - and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than going Uptown anyway! For the last three months I've lived here, I have really enjoyed Elizabeth Square and the surrounding Plaza-Midwood area. Hope this helps other people in their search!

Elizabeth Square is a great place to live. It is convenient to many shop, resturants, night life, and uptown. The office staff is always nice and courteous when dealing with them. The Plaza Midwood/Elizabeth area has to be one of the best places to live in all of Charlotte.

Resident for over 3 years. While the property itself is very appealing, the overall experience is not. Safety: Cars are continuously broken into in the Garage, with one incident where 12+ vehicles where vandalized in one night. Gym door is constantly left open overnight allowing non-residents/strangers access to the "secured" building. Garage doors are constantly out of order and left open, also allowing access to anyone. Parking: Guest Parking is not regulated and therefore all guest parking is constantly taken up by residents who decide not to pay for the additional parking or by guests/non-residents who simply follow cars in or proceed through the gate while it is constantly open. During one incident, a drunk driver drove up all 4 levels of the garage while hitting 20+ vehicles during the process. Staff: For a community which markets itself as "Upscale", "Luxury"... the Staff experience is far from that. Although helpful and nice until you sign your lease/pay, as soon as a complaint/concern arouses they are quick to point fingers and never take ownership of any mistakes. My apartment door was left unlocked after a maintenance visit and I was basically called a liar. The Staff needs a refresher course in CUSTOMER SERVICE, they seem to forget the industry they work in. For the past 3 years I have wondered how Metro808, the community directly across the street can charge 30% more in rent and still be almost fully occupied... Now I know.

BBB rating D- Pros: Great location - Plaza Midwood and Elizabeth have much too offer and great walkability. 5 min drive to uptown and within 20 min drive to everywhere else in city. Spacious Apartments for Area - units larger than typically found in the area and overall appear very nice. Great Amenities - garage parking, nice quality fitness center, pool, resident socials, mobile dog grooming services, on grounds small pet park/area. Cons: Revolving office staff, many have bad attitudes and lack customer service skills. The nice staff don't tend to last long. Maintenance - may be improving w/ new maintenance staff but history of bad attitudes, delays in repairs, and improper repairs. Noise - You get used to train and apartments insulated well except noise from hallways and outside is heard. It can turn into a party area after around 11 especially Fri/Sat night. Drunken neighbors and parties spilling over in hallways and balconies can be annoying if you are beyond that age. Happens often. Dogs - many let dogs go off leash in area, breed restriction policy is a joke, many dogs have been attacked on grounds and sidewalks around complex. Cost - TWC required and valet trash included cost in rent. Rent varies drastically from person to person for exact same apt or may pay more for less. Apts and services definitely not worth all the hassles w/ this complex. Turnover/move out rate is extremely high. Finally multiple complaints have been made against parent company to BBB because as is found out on move out, billing is unjustified and unfair. They will bill you for damages present upon move in (ie - the white stained carpet that was damaged and stained when you move in that they didn't replace). As mentioned earlier, maintenance at least when I first moved there was poor so quite a few things, despite requests, were never fixed and items such as the carpet was in poor condition and I reported all of the above on move in sheet. Nonetheless, at move out I received a bill for the carpet, no one has answered or returned my numerous calls regarding the bill, which from reading BBB reviews after the fact is not surprising. Overall, if you are not a partying college kid with extra cash to spend, be weary of this place, more problems than it is worth despite its pretty cover. If you are a busy professional, I would definitely not recommend this place.
