My roommate and I moved into Elizabeth Square about a month ago and we've been so impressed with the apartment quality. We're in a renovated apartment and everyone who comes over loves it! People are always in awe of the pricing because we're in a great location that's so close to uptown Charlotte.

I am very pleased with my decision to move into the Elizabeth Square apartment community! All the staff are very friendly and the layouts look great. I love the trash service within the complex. It is very conveniently located to my place of employment and I get to enjoy a scenic walk with a skyline view of Charlotte along the way. The complex is quiet and appropriate for individuals of any age! I would recommend this establishment to anyone who asked.

Don't live here! They don't have enough guest parking spots and anyone that comes over to visit or stay for a weekend like family or friends will get towed for $120.

Pros- Elizabeth Square is located in a wonderful area. You are in walking distance to parks, beautiful neighborhoods, bars and restaurants. The units are great. They are large and have nice fixtures. The washer and dryers are nice, as well. The carpet is nice short shag. They offer quality accent wall colors. Cons- the noise. No one in the front office live in the complex (First problem that should've stuck out to me.) On Thursdays and weekends the place, who is full of "young professionals" turns into a party zone. People yelling down hallways, beer pong in the pool, and bass that radiates through the floors. The train isn't a big deal. It does come through the area often, however, if you love the area, you can't get away from it. Parking isn't a issue if you have a permit. Guests struggle to find parking since there are only 2 guests spots per level in the garage. Everywhere on the street is fair game. However, with new restaurants and bars popping up, patrons are parking in the apartment spots, with no penalty. The office staff is not great. Never was impressed for many different reasons. Apartments are businesses and in for the money. The blinds that are provided in each complex don't offer privacy. Expect to have to put up curtains.

I have lived here for almost five years now and love being here. First of all, the layout is perfect for me. Large windows, beautiful light, pleasant views of trees and sky and flowers. Also very important to me has been the staff. I have personally met everyone including the manager and they know me and greet me by name. I'm very impressed with the quality of people who work here. They are friendly, helpful and very patient. Service needs are addressed promptly. Everyone goes out of the way to do whatever will make my life here comfortable and enjoyable. Once in a while there are issues like in any community. But the important thing is, that every effort is made to take care of them satisfactorily. I can honestly say that it's a joy to live here. I love living here. It is a safe environment, the property managers keep everything in working order, and people are very friendly. I wish there was more parking for guests (street or in the garage), but that's minor.

Noise is terrible (train track located 30 feet from building - sounds like its coming through your bedroom, freeway as well), dog feces constantly in the hallway, customer service is non-existent, the quality of the fixtures appears high but in reality breaks frequently. You DO NOT get what you pay for and its simply disappointing. I would not suggest this residence.

I moved here from a large home nearby and expected to be having to "make due". Wow have I been pleasantly surprised!. Life here is effortless. Beautiful open floor plan with hardwoods and granite countertops, great sunrise view with the pool and artful natural areas, private and quiet, and trash pickup outside my apartment door nightly. Effortless and refined living. Jackie and Ebony are who I know the most and they are warm and professional. The common area has a fireplace and is modern and cozy. I even use the workout facility which I hadn't anticipated. The area looks out onto the pool, has lots of different types of equipment, is clean, and often others are there when I am (versus how sometimes the workout facility can feel like a tomb). I just can't say enough good things about the beauty and lifestyle that I have living at Elizabeth Square.

Could not ask for better service! They have such a friendly staff and all the amenities one can ask for and clean!!... Maintenance staff are always so friendly when I walk by them in the hallways and say hi how's everything going... Not to mention the location. I am so close to uptown but don't have that noise. I have been living here for 2 years now and am going on my third.

I love living at Elizabeth Square! I moved here from out of state and didn't get to see my apartment before I moved in. I was not disappointed! My apartment is amazing. It's in a great location and has more closet space than I thought. I love the quality of the carpet and the high ceilings. I had one maintenance issue with my garbage disposal, but it was fixed the same day. The office staff goes out of their way to help me with whatever I need. They have a lot of resident events which is great since I am new to Charlotte. The location of the apartments is my favorite part. I can walk to a ton of restaurants and local bars. The only thing I would change is for them to have more visitor spots in the garage, but my friends have had no problem parking out on the street. It's safe enough and we've never had any problems. It's been a great experience so far and I definitely plan on renewing my lease in February!

At first, I loved this apartment complex. The price wasn't too bad, the location was pretty good, and I had absolutely no problems with anything. Everything went downhill towards the end of the first year. My first issue came about with regards to paying rent. The payment processing (third-party) forgot to attach a company ID to the rent payment transaction. Instead of putting the time forth to figure out which accounts accepted the payment and which didn't, they went ahead and charged it again. My bank took both, and so it overdrafted my account and it took 3 MONTHS to straighten it out. This included being charged late fees because of THEIR MISTAKE. There were massive issues with tennants not cleaning up after their animals. On MANY occasions their was dog poop in the halls, in the stairways, and in the parking garage. As far as parking goes, it was okay for residents as there were PLENTY of open spots. My fiance lived away from me and would come visit and there were only about 20 visitor spots IN THE WHOLE garage. This normally wouldn't be an issue and you could park on the street, but I would see the same visitor spots occupied with the SAME car for weeks at a time. One of the biggest issues I had was lease renewal. After the first year, there were not any big reasons to not renew my lease other than a few frustrations. They tried to raise my rent 30%!!!!!! It jumped up $300/mo... I argued with them and knocked it down, but it was still MUCH more expensive, but it was much easier than trying to move. Finally, I was out of this place. Then I get a call saying they tried to send me my final bill but it got returned... They mis-spelled my new address and it was never sent to me. Unfortunately, they charged me over $800 because they decided to replace the hardwoods (which aren't even hardwood, it is fake plastic hardwood) and carpets. Both of which I left in good condition and cleaned when I moved out. At most, all they had to do was a little more intensive cleaning, which I would have understood. Their reasoning, was it had pet damage... the only issue was I DID NOT HAVE A PET. I tried to argue and dispute the charges, but because of the mailing mistake, I was forced to pay so it wouldn't hurt my credit score. The only option they gave me was to file it is small claims court and maybe get some money back. Although I would prefer not to go this route and waste my own time, I am strongly thinking about it. Stay away from this place. There are moments where it is a decent apartment complex, but they will do everything in their power to take your money. Along with cleanliness and noise (people screaming from balconies or running down the hallways or blasting bass music on SUNDAY MORNING), I would have rather bought a house. Which I eventually did, and it costs not much more per month than that crappy tiny apartment did.

Awesome location. Great looking apartments. High end amenities. Incredible staff. I am new to Charlotte. I looked for the right mix of location, amenities, and great people.....I found it when I just happened to find the Elizabeth Square. The leasing team and the management team really worked with me to make my move and timing work. They were incredible in helping get the perfect apartment.

I'm so tired of seeing dog poo in the halls, and human urine in the elevators and stairways. Yesterday, one of the elevators was half-filled with piss all afternoon/evening. Who does that? (I can tell it is human because my dog doesn't even want to go near it.) This place is an overpriced dorm for "young professionals" right out of college. The parking is awful for visitors, because there are so few visitor spots. That means the road leading into the garage is basically a tiny one way road because so many people are poorly parked on both sides. When people move in, they block the view coming out of the garage, so you have to pull out hoping no one is coming the other way. There were some car break ins a few months back, and there is still broken glass all over the garage. Also, take a look at the date of all of the positive reviews. They hold parties and give away gift cards for people who write them.

I've been here 2 yrs from New York and I like it here. Though my job has me traveling back and forth I look forward coming home. I do a lot evaluating companies in detail and I will do the same in this review. Elizabeth square has a nice staff. They remember my name and extremely helpful. I know they are busy with other residents and people coming in for tours but they seem to always make time to give the attention that I feel I deserve as a valued resident. I have only had a few issues in my apartment that needed immediate attention and maintenance has fixed them without a problem, My only concern is guest parking. Yes they have spots for guest but if all are full and street parking is too packed my guest have a risk of getting towed if they parking in resident parking. It's understandable but would like to see more guest parking.

I moved here with a roommate. We leased it and didn't even see the place but it was so nice when we got here. They girl upfront who helped us sent us pics and answered all our questions before we moved in to make it easier. My part time job is around the corner which is super convenient cuz I walk. I really like the business center. I haven't bought my printer yet so it's really nice to have a place to do my work and print papers for school.

Well I moved here from ATL and this place and area reminds me of home without the traffic. Even though they have a nice gym I can walk to the fitness factory, one of reasons why I moved here, my job and the bars. The staff is cool and always help when I need them, and they have cool parties! oh yea they have a really nice pool and it's live on the weekends, which is good cuz I met so many people.

My husband and I moved into Elizabeth Square in June 2013. We had toured a few other apartment complexes and chose Elizabeth Square because of the location. After being here a few months, we have checked out some other complexes online out of curiosity, and after seeing different apartments in the area in a similar price range to what we are paying now, we believe that we are getting the best bang for our buck at Elizabeth Square. Our kitchen amenities and layout are far more modern and updated than almost all of the other apartments we've explored. We pay $1160 a month to ES (the rent is $1056 cable/internet and trash) plus water, which is billed with rent and usually never totals more than $25 for the two of us. We haven't exceeded an electric bill (through Duke) of $60. We love our corner apartment (about 750 sq. ft.) over the pool courtyard because it is quieter than the road-facing apartments, has a larger balcony than the square apartments, and we can just check out the window to see how crowded the pool is on nice sunny days. We haven't had any major maintenance issues, but the couple things we needed help with, the maintenance worker was very nice. I believe the office staff has changed since some of the more negative reviews I've read from the earlier months of this year, because they are so helpful and it is nice that they even known our names and say hello when we pass through. Moving in was a little tough because moving trucks will not fit into the garage so if you're on the higher floors, you have to get your things up in the service elevator near the garage entrance and then walk it all the way to your apartment (or transfer everything in pickup-truck-loads from the moving truck on the street up through the garage to the door closest to your apartment. The thing we enjoy most about Elizabeth Square is still the location. We walk to the grocery store, Dairy Queen, to get drinks, and take evening walks through the gorgeous Elizabeth neighborhoods nearby. We also like to walk to the Gold Rush trolley to get a free ride into the city, and Freedom Park is only a 3 mile bike ride away. We moved to Charlotte with the intent of getting the most out of city life (without the price tag) as we could, and Elizabeth Square has definitely fulfilled that for us.

I have lived here for about 3 months and have been pleased thus far. As someone who is usually on-the-go, it is nice to come home to a well maintained and clean apartment complex. I have not had a chance to meet too many people in the complex, but the people I have met have been friendly. The office staff seems pleasant and are very responsive to any issues I have. I use the gym regularly and would say it is one of the better apartment gyms I have seen. The location is ideal as it is within walking distance to a variety of bars and restaurants, and it is only a short drive to Uptown.

I've lived here for around 4 years and I love this place. It's been fun to see Plaza Midwood grow. The apartments are very nice with wonderful patio areas and pool area. All around great amenities. Always social events going on. Easy walk to local bars and restaurants. Since I've been here the staff has been great. The current management staff lineup is awesome as well. Kori and Kerri helped me locate a very important package that was sent to the wrong address recently. Kerri (Property Manager) personally found the package and walked it to my doorstep. They shared my sense of urgency in finding the package and I appreciate that. This is just one example of why the whole staff and management team is great. I can't remember his name but a young man in maintenance who always has his earphones ;s a hard worker, professional, and polite. Can't say enough about the staff here. If you're contemplating living here, let this be the voice of reason that pushes you over the edge.

!!!NOTE!!! Periodically this complex has writing review parties where they offer free food for people who write reviews on this website. Careful, reviews might be written in a pizza and wing induced coma! The proximity to Uptown and short walk to many great restaurants and bars in Plaza Midwood make the location excellent. However, there are serious issues about the property and management you must consider. A) Noise Level One side of the building is adjacent to the highway. Our unit overlooks the highway and the front office assured us you can't hear the noise inside. Since the highway starts / ends right after the complex it is not white noise but rather sound of various cars accelerating and air breaks. Make sure to get a unit far away from highway. B) Front Office Management Ask for the all in rental rate and make sure to get EVERYTHING they quote you in writing! When we decided to move forward with renting our quote did not include other mandatory fees such as cable, internet, and trash removal. Our quote was cheaper than Metro 808 but did not include those fees even though we explicitly asked several times for the all in rate. Unfortunately we trusted the office and did not get the quote in writing. When the lease came two weeks before move in (even after asking for the lease on a weekly basis for 2 months) it was too late to change complexes. C) Bugs We find on average one cockroach a month in the unit which is not horrible. Keeping the tub and sink drains closed at all times really helps. Make sure to get all correspondence in writing, ask for the all-in rate, and avoid the highway units.

I've been pleased so far with my stay here at Elizabeth Square. After I leased my apartment, I saw the reviews online and almost cancelled my move in. I decided to try it anyways as I had already put down my deposit. I am very happy that I did not cancel. I have to say that the reviews on here are not what I have experienced in the last two months. I like the atmosphere at this community and the people seem very nice. I have had many residents introduce themselves to me and the day I moved in the neighbor brought me over brownies with a note that said "welcome home." Its been a great experience so far and I feel like I made the right decision choosing this place.

I love the location of ES Apt. It is great walking distance to a lot of nice eateries. The new Harris Teeter is amazing. Opportunity for a great workout in the on site facility. I really love that its 2 turns from Uptown. Great place to live. My fianc and I were looking for something close to uptown and we found this. No regrets. We both love it. I work on the university side of town and the drive is not bad; 10 min top.

Location! Location! Location! Elizabeth Square is a great place to live. Close to uptown and surrounded by great restaurants and bars. Management communicates effectively and the maintenance staff is timely and efficient. Great pool, gym, and other amenities. Apartments are expensive and overpriced in my opinion but you won't find anything else with the same quality and location cheaper than this. Resident parking is more than sufficient but guest parking could be improved.
