Good family living
My family has lived at Windrush since Aug 2007. We have had an excellent experience here. The staff has been both friendly and helpful. (And I have never heard them be rude to others either) My children have had very nice kids to play with and you can't find such good interior greenspace for kids to run around in anywhere else. My kids have a playground, sanbox (the sand volleyball court), and plenty of basketball playing. The sidewalks are great for little ones bikes and sidewalk chalk. With three kids ranging from 13 to 4 we have needed all of this!
We have always had considerate neighbors and were suprised at how quiet it is here at night. We moved from a country location and expected to have trouble sleeping but no problem!
Overall we have really enjoyed our time at Windrush. We are relocating but I think the kids wish we could stay.

Nice Place to Live
My husband and I lived at Windrush from Dec. of 2005 to November of 2006. We only had to move because of a job change.

I thoroughly loved living at Windrush. The staff was friendly (most of the time, no one is perfect and sometime we all have bad days) I enjoyed the fitness center, and tennis court. The downside is that the fitness center/racquet court etc. did close early some days.

I always felt safe walking at night. Any noise problems were taken care of immediately and if there ever was a maintenance problem etc. with the apartment, it was taken care of within 24 hours.

Our little one bedroom apartment was perfect, the downside is that there is not allot of storage space, but the stone fireplace made up for it :-)

I would highly recommend these apartments and am very sad we had to leave.

worst apt I've lived in!
The staff is very rude. Get ready for the rent to go up. Everytime the lease is up it goes up $35 more. Swimming pool is nice, but it was closed more than open. As for the indoor basketball and raquet ball courts, they are very nice, yet agian never open. They are open tues - thurs from 10am to 10pm which isnt bad. The rest of the time they close at 5pm. If this place is to be apeeling to college students you would think these would be open more. I would tell some one to look around.

If you like Edmond and you like -------- you will LOVE Windrush. Very unconfortable walking my dog after dark due to the massive amount of Mexican who dont believe in sitting inside of their apartments. I also hope that if you have a nice stereo or nice wheels that they are insured and/or protected because it seemed like a daily occurence that someones window was busted or their car was on cinder blocks. My friend was one of them. If you can handle all of that its a GRRRRRRRRRRRREAT place to live. Maintenance was pretty good, place was clean.

The staff was always nice to me when I needed something so I cant complain there.

Great work for the tenants, they really try to do anything to make your place comfortable for you before, and after you move in. The staff is very sweet and cheerful all the time- I've never seen a bad mood. I reccomend!

The pool has been closed a lot this summer due to "repairs". As for my apartment.. I really enjoy living here. Someone was stabbed here about THREE years ago and that is all I have heard negative about it here. I don't think the office is rude, or at least they never have been to me. I just wish they could get the POOL OPEN!!

Nice place, nice people
The staff is great, haven't really had any maintenance problems, except one of the toilets leaks but it was a $2 part, took care of it in 5 minutes. Decent condition, electric bill is kind of expensive, but that's apartment living for you. neighbors are great, some young college guys, some families, everyone is friendly. Our one problem is cockroaches, but we actually brought them here by accident, because we used free cardboard boxes leftover from walmart. NEVER ever use free boxes from a grocery store. But management has sent an exterminator, should take care of it. SO overall its great, I'd recommend this place to anybody except old people and kids who want to party loud and late.

Nice enough
In comparison to other complexes I have lived, I have had the best experience here. I have had to call in some maintenance issues and overall have had them taken care of immediately. My dryer did go out over the weekend and that was not repaired until Monday, but the office staff did offer me a break on my rent to cover costs to do my laundry in their laundry mat. I have not visited the fitness center yet due to the hours that it is open. They do need to try to have it open later than just two nights a week until ten. Most of the other people that live here seem to work days like me and cannot make it to work out during the hours the managment has it open.

A Noise Problem
The community is nice, and the office and maintenance are very responsive. But having said that, noise is a real problem. The second story apartments rest on an old creaky, squeaky wood floor, so every step an upstairs neighbor takes creates a tremendous amount of irritating noise--it's bad for the upstairs person but unbearable for the person living below. Conversations, television, and music can be heard as well. Soundproofing insulation between the first and second floors would make a big difference, but as of today, there's not a drop of insulation in these apartments. Until there is, I'm sorry to say I cannot recommend Windrush to anyone. I'll be leaving when my lease is up.

Not Bad!
I have lived here for 4 months and my neighbors are very nice. I moved from another apartment here in Edmond and these are by far nicer than the one I come from..

The girls in the office are very nice and my workorders are done quickly. I have not had very many problems.

Overall, I would recommend this complex to my friends or anyone who is looking for a nice place to live..

Nice community
We lived in Windrush for 9 months and only left because we bought our first house. I must say we thought it was a great apartment complex, much better than other we had lived at in Tulsa. The management is generally very helpful, and the maintenance was quick to respond to problems. The grounds are well-kept.

My only complaints are minor: the train can be pretty annoying; it took some getting used to, especially at night. We lived on the far east side, so the train was very loud. But once we got used to it, it was OK.

The fitness center is great, but I wish it had longer hours. Maybe they have extended them since we moved.

The dishwasher in our apartment was really old and didn't work well. We didn't bother to report it to management until we gave our 30 days notice because it was not that big a deal. The lady in the office said they would have replaced it had we told them earlier.

Other than that, we really enjoyed living there.

Something that might help some of you is the information on the Oklahoma Bar Association's Web site about your rights as a tenant. You can find it at http://www.okbar.org/public/brochures/tenbroc.htm

I have lived here for a few months and so far everything has been good. It has turned out to be a nice place to live for me and my son. I wish the pool would be open a bit later than Labor Day-that is one thing I am a little upset about. But overall, I enjoy being here. It is pretty quiet and I don't feel like I am living with a bunch of trashy people. Everyone here is real nice and clean. (Something I did not feel at my old apartment)

Two weeks in and already impressed
I had a reservation at a complex down the street, and when I saw it I knew I couldn't live there. Enter Windrush. I talked with the office around 10 in the morning and moved in that day. My apartment was well cleaned when I moved in and everything seemed to work well. The second day in my air conditioner quit blowing cool air (pretty important in July) A maintence worker immediately arrived and recharged the freon. Problem solved. Unfortunately four days later...same thing. Again, instant maintenence service where he discovered a leak. After a failed attempt to repair it, I got a brand new air conditioning unit.

The last review mentions poor maintenence but notice the dates from that resident. The new maintenence guy is awesome. He's even been by several times just to check to make sure my air conditioner is working well. Thanks!

Mushrooms growing in apt
I lived at WindRush for a year and a half. The maintenance was terrible - the maintenance guy was rude and lazy. (I would hope that dude would have been replaced by now, but you never know.) We always had to call several times to get someone to come and make repairs. Things were never fixed right the first time. We had a leak in our shower for several months. The office/maintenance ignored our calls for a couple of months and then spent three weeks breaking down the wall and tearing up the floors and still couldn't get anything fixed. I finally came home one day and the shower had been left in disrepair for so long and stayed so wet that MUSHROOMS had sprouted out of the floor. Then a few weeks later my roomies and I came home to find WORMS ALL OVER THE CEILING. They couldn't get all the mess fixed so we had to move all our stuff into a totally different apartment (during finals week) and maintiance took DAYS to help move our furniture. (Do I have to tell you how hard it is to study and do homework without furniture??) While I lived at WindRush there was 1 car-crash where a helicopter landed to air-lift the victim out of our parking lot, 1 shooting across the street, 2 fights in the parking lot involving alcohol and parties, and one occasion where I found my three neighbors hanging out by my bedroom window. Last, and least, the pool is seldomly ever clean enough to swim in. (Why???) The girls in the office are usually nice, but bless their hearts, they don't seem to get just how bad it is. Overall, everything at WindRush is handled in a very unprofessional manner - just check out the posting a few before mine titled "Reality". I assume that is from a member of the office staff. Very unprofessional and a perfect example of all the cop out reasons we recieved for why things weren't in order.
This place has its moments. However, I do feel like I got a pretty good deal. It is disappointing when the pool is closed but they do always seem sincere in their apologies. Maintenance has changed a few times but they always have pretty nice guys. They finally got internet in the clubhouse for us to use so that is pretty cool. The office staff is nice and it is nice to see the same face each time I go in. Last week I was at the pool and they brought out floaties and toys for all the kids. For an apartment, this place is pretty nice.

Thanks
I just wanted to say thanks to the staff. I just moved in about 2 months ago and have never been treated so important. Whenever, I call or come in the girls in the office always greet me by name. How often does an aparment staff remember the residents name. Usually, your just a number...Your apartment number. Anyway, just wanted to say I've been really impressed with the staff. Great job-definetly recommeded!

Reality!!!!
I find it humerous that all these current and former tenants can leave such terrible reviews about the property and the staff, yet cannot man up to leave their names. If so unsatisfied speak with management face to face to get things taken care of or at least addresssed. If they don't know about your dissatisfaction how are they responsible to fix it. Also, treat others the way you would like to be treated. If you storm into the office upset about your A/C, it's not going to get fixed any sooner. The maintenance crew works on a first come first serve basis. And remember they are people too, doing the "you" favors. I live here now and understand that living in an apartment may have its ups and downs. If the pool is closed ask the office why, it's usually chemical unbalance which is for our safety. The gym hours...read in your lease the hours, if you don't like it, live someplace else. If living in an apartment is so horrible go buy yourself a house and fix all the repairs yourself too.

Not many problems-sometimes maintenance has to come back and refix things. Overall this is a pretty nice place compared to where I came from.

I disagree...
I have lived here for four months and moved here from Oxford Oaks and I must say that the maintenance here is MUCH better! I have not had a green film laying in the bottom of my dishwasher for 2 weeks like I did at Oxford Oaks. I also have not had condensation leaking from my air conditioner for 7 days like I did at Oxford Oaks. Also, my apartment flooded FOUR times in one month and the last time it happened my carpet was pulled up for another SEVEN days at Oxford Oaks.

I feel like I got a pretty good rate on my apartment as well. I am paying $602 and I have a washer and dryer now. Maybe I am one of the "favored ones" this person speaks of, but I doubt it. I have only had to call in two times to have things fixed and both were done pretty quick. I also appreciated the phone calls I received after the work was done making sure I was happy. I just would like to give credit where credit is due.

B. Matthews

no way
The biggest problem is maintenance. They show no workmenship very lazy and basicallY non responsive to afterhours emergencies.
(I had a problem with my a/c and it was 5:00 and it was not cooling. being a maintenance man myself i checked it out to see what the problem was and the condenser fan was not turnig outside. So my wife called the emergency maintence for help and left a message about the problem........it took 1hr for them to reply and above all it was the superviser and he told my wife he lived 50 MILES AWAY AND BESIDES IT'S HIS WIFES B-DAY AND THAT WE'LL HAVE TO WAIT till the next day. people it was 85 degrees outside their was no way i was going to sleep their that night and my wife has bad ahsma. We had to rent a motel room and they didn't even compensate us for it.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

THE WORST!!!!!!
This place is the worst place I have ever lived. I would NEVER recommend it to anyone. There is ALWAYS noise at all hours of the night, the MAINTENANCE is the WORST! Even worse than Oxford Oaks and that is hard to beat. Believe me.
The maintenance guys are lazy, rude, and aact disgustingly. the people in the office are okay but they have their moments of rudeness. As I can see there are other reviews that are good, so it seems as though they must favor certain people. Because matter of factly I have had about 10 things wrong with the apartment and I have been there 9 months so far only two have been fixed. Just be careful because you may be the next victim of their selective choosing. God Bless to all. Also their pricing is HORRIBLE!!!!!! Too expensive for what it is wort

I have lived here six years and I was offended to see the foul mouthed comments written by someone (who was not brave enough to leave their name!). First of all, this person seems to be the stupid one- they can´t even SPELL McDonalds. I just want to defend the staff in the office, they really are nice girls. I think that this complex if just a nice as the one my friend lives in that is nearly 10 years older!! The management company has made improvements and they really take care of this complex.

Don´t let the negativity of bitter people form your opinion of anyone. Go to the office and see for yourself - that comment is simply not true.

P. Rowton
Windrush Resident
