i was very excited about checking this place out to rent an apartment. now I'm turned off and I will not even go in for a look. there is no way that all of these people are lying and I am very thankful for you who has reported your experiences because I am in a bad place with some of these same issues and I'd be damned! Thanks.

The new owners and management are horrible. In addition to much increased rent, all kinds of fees and additional charges have been added to squeeze every penny out of residents (without even being up front about some of those extra costs). At the same time, they have no consideration for tenants. For the premium rates, residents are expected to put up with constant renovations that are very noisy and create all kinds of inconveniences. I would not recommend Alden Park to anyone looking for a place to live.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! This place is the most unorganized business I have ever seen. They have no idea what is going on ever and will never return your phone calls or emails. I have been living here for two years now and the turnover rate at this place is unbelievable. I hate living here and I can guarantee I will not be living here again. The new property manager, ------, is the biggest --------- I've ever met. He is rude and talks down to everyone. Our first year here was horrible as there is constant construction. We were not planning to live here again, but they are so desperate for tenants that they offered us a great deal. I wish we would have just passed up on the deal because it is not worth it. This place is the absolute worst and all of the residents agree. Don't be fooled by the website and the newly renovated apartments. They are quickly flipped in two weeks and very crappy. I'm telling you do not live here whatever you do! You do not want to deal with ------. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt the need to warn future residents of ------ and this dump.

This is the largest case of false deception. An extremely unprofessional staff, that will not respect you as a tenant, and feels covering up the truth is ethically and morally acceptable. There are zero measures being taken to resolve these issues, limiting my belief their will be progress in the future. On numerous occasions heat has turned off for the entire building during cold winter nights, water is turned off with or without notice far too often and the concern for safety and security is absent. Anyone can drive into the premises and also directly open doors into the building, where there are zero cameras. Due to the continual construction, the doors "must remain accessible", however, that is not acceptable when the contrary is putting your tenants at harms way. I would avoid looking to rent from Alden Park Apartments AT ALL COST.

Alden Park is poorly managed ... the Property manager is not responsive nor professional. All the the employees in the office are unorganized, rude and dishonest.... don't expect service in a timely or professional fashion.... I recommend no to live here. I will not renew my lease with Alden Park unless management chances soon! Water outages, appliances keep breaking, halls are dirty, windows are old... DO NOT MOVE HERE!

Constant construction, ridiculous amounts of noise and dust. Continuous promises of things to come and still nothing. Where are the doorman? The building no longer feels safe or happy or comfortable... The Office staff is lazy and dismissive. My favorite is the overly flirtatious, bold, rude, disrespectful young lady in the leasing office. I think out of all of them she may be the worst. Her very fake demeanor can be seen from a mile away and not only was I uncomfortable with her behavior, so was my husband. He informed me she made a not so subtle pass at him and it took ------------------------------------------------------. Someone get this girl a room ALONE! Just a hint of advice, focus on leasing units and not trying to obtain a husband through tenants. Can someone transfer her? Hanging on for the remainder of our lease and we're out of here.

DO NOT RENT HERE! All of the amenities are "out of order." Tennis court has a tent that is the temporary gym, pools are out of commission and the front gate is never functional. The leasing office will say anything to get you to sign a lease and then you are dead to them. Construction has been going on for almost a year and is all day everyday. (Think no parking available, constant noise and shady people propping doors open.) People are leaving like it is the plague. Maintenance is friendly but completely overwhelmed. Leasing is obviously fed up with the residents and. Low requests off, need to call everyday just to get work done.

If I had the money, I'd say PEACE to these apartments. I thought that when VIllage Green took over that it could get better, wrong! Now, where to start? I'm a med student out here and I've been too busy to move for the past three years. Or I'll tell myself "at least I don't have roaches!" I've kind of dealt with it, so yeah I guess that's my fault. . . I used to live in the Kenilworth for 2 years where the fire alarms would CONSTANTLY go off -- even at night. There was a huge flood from the 14th floor suite that dripped down past my floor (the 11th) because someone in maintenance didn't close the windows when they were up there smoking or whatever. The fire alarms would always happen in the winter, and not so much the rest of the year -- but like anyone wants to be outside at night in the snow! We talked to old management and they said we could move to another building with no fees - I was really hoping that would take care of our issues since nothing else was too terrible. We're in the Cambridge now. I understand that there's construction going on (apparently for over a year - so beware incoming students) but the water is off constantly and management is inconsistent with sending out emails ahead of time. Sometimes there will be one, sometimes there will be a notice posted in the elevator (which is of no help if you're bunkering down for a test), and MOST of the time you won't find out the water is out until you took a dump in your toilet #noshame. Then, there was the postage issue. So, packages were all kept in each building for a while and the security team (hired outside) would come and grab your packages. All you had to do was walk downstairs and get them. Once the new management took over, you couldn't expect your packages in under three hours!! I'm not exaggerating and I do a lot of online shoppping (best stress relief ever). In january, packages got stolen!! Mine included, and luckily they were willing to pay for the packages so I guess NBD. Now, you must walk all the way to the leasing office for your packages, which I guess isn't a problem, but I feel weird about walking down there in PJ's, so it's a slight hassle (though better than waiting 3 hours). Communication is shoddy -- it's best to call, when they answer, but forget about responses for email (like 50% of the time). They probably think I'm a -----, but I'm just speaking the truth. My studio apartment is $1045 (more than my parents' mortgaged 5BR house on an acre of land) but I've never been more miserable. Oh yeah, let's not forget my leaking window! I've told maintenance several times when they came in with the building refurbishers that it would leak when it rained. They said it was an outside-structural thing so it would be fixed then. Apparently no one made note of my pleas, because they are finished with the outside mortar but I still have to pack my windowsill with towels! Yes, the property is pretty and it's nice that there's a gym and a pool but... Is it really worth it?! I'm from the west coast, but is this REALLY the standard of living ya'll that were born and raised here have come to expect?! If you're a student - DUCOM or not - stay away! It will be a headache and an ultimate distraction that you do not need for your studies. Once my BF starts his career, we will be saying peace to Alden!

Lived at Alden Park for 3+ years. I mostly loved it and sometimes hated it here, but looking back, it was great to me and my girlfriend and offered so much despite the countless frustrations we endured. We loved the location and grounds and seemed to be part of only a small handful of residents that took full advantage of everything available. Positives: location, pool, safety (which, remember, is relative), gym, parking, pet friendliness Negatives: deteriorating infrastructure, cold winters/hot summers, perpetual repair work needed, inept management, a couple roaches over the years (only ever saw one rat, outside) Overall I really enjoyed living here, but more so in retrospect. You have to be resilient to live here. We were in our early 20s and as a first apartment didn't have much of a baseline to compare against, so we were willing to deal with the multitude of issues, mostly maintenance related. Management left a lot to be desired, but their general incompetence also resulted in letting us slide a bit on certain policies, so I'll call it even. Side note: I read that a massive renovation project is underway with plans upgrade/repair/add inside and outside....

I have been living at Alden Park for about 2.5 months. Like any other apartment community it has it pros and cons. The leasing agents in the office are cordial and nice and really try their best to help as much as they can. But I will say the best part about the place are the spacious apartments. The space in these apartments remind me of a condo or loft. And not to mention some have a fully functional fire place , how cool is that ? Most of the units do have a washer and dryer which is a plus and very convenient. And it is pretty quiet for the most part I have not heard any loud neighbors. Most of the residents are polite and cordial. Whats even more exciting is the new upgraded units. I'm hoping to do an upgrade as early as possible. The new units are really nice. And the appliances are to die for. I've only been here for the winter months but I cant wait until the weather gets nicer so I'll be able to enjoy the pool area and walk the trail. There is a lot of greenery at the community I might even have a picnic. The community is also very pet friendly. I'm not dog fan myself but for someone who is , their dog will love the open space to run around and play. Overall my experience here has not been bad and I look forward to the new additions to the community.

We have lived at Alden Park for 2 1/2 years now. We fell in love with the beautiful big apartments and gated grounds. We don't feel like we are in the hustle and bustle of the city, and we feel safe. Our entire experience has not been negative, but more recently we have begun to regret staying here with the new management. I greatly appreciate that the new management is trying to fix the structural issues, but I don't feel they are handling it appropriately. If you were to move here: Be prepared to listen to the construction throughout the buildings from 8 am to 8 pm everyday for months. The apartment above ours took over two months for them to complete it. The managment has no regards for getting work done quickly and the contractors work at a slow and unorganized pace. Now they have started the one next to ours and its been weeks with only bits and pieces done. Be prepared to have your water shut off at least twice a week with little or no warning. My favorite was when they posted the notice the night before the shutoff in the elevator- the same elevator they had shut down for maintainance. Makes perfect sense. Many times we have no warning that they are shutting it off. Be prepared to have your car towed. I appreciate that they have painted no parking zones on the main road in the community- that was a necessity and has made it much safer- and I agree that people parking in those areas should be towed. However, if the complex decides to do construction on the building and your car is in the way in a legit parking spot, they tow it. A random construction guy this morning (Saturday) told us that they would be bringing in a crane Monday morning at 5 am and any cars in the way would be towed. No notices were posted in the building. No emails. When we returned this afternoon they TAPED messages to car windows saying to move. Too bad if you don't look at your car before Monday morning- it will be somewhere else. Be prepared to pay your rent by check. The online company they now decide to use to pay rent with charges you a $35 fee to do it online each month. Be prepared to have high electric bills. The windows are single pane glass which are poorly sealed shut, so heated or cooled air is lost quickly. The window sills are beautiful and it was a big reason we moved here, but our electric bills are high to keep our apartment comfortable. Again, there are positives to living here. The concrete walls are thick and block noise, we like the space (though some rooms are poorly structured due to when the building was constructed ie the living room has the fireplace as the focal point), and we like having parking. The management plans to continue upgrading the complex, which sounds nice, but be prepared to deal with all of the drawbacks. Would we go back in time and change that we moved here? Probably not. But if I were to be looking for a place now and move here? Probably not. Move here in a couple years, I'm sure it'll be great by then.

We have been here just for 6 months and we have experienced all the bad things you can at a rental apartment. When we moved they were in transition of changing the management teams. We were glad that the previous office people will be gone for good (not to be mean but very rude, non-knowledgeable and irresponsible staff, even the manager), but we were wrong! The faces changed nothing else. This is a historic place and all the buildings are like century old, no kidding. The things don't work when they are supposed to. Something always goes wrong every other week. First problem, AC didn't work in the middle of summer! Secondly, we didn't even realize the heater was also not working till we had to turn it on around October-November. They changed the compressor and what not and it worked for 2 weeks and stopped again, realizing after good 3-4 days that the main compressor of the building in basement was not working. Bug infestation! The century old windows are so freaking awesome that bugs were crawling in even from the close windows. These are single glassed windows zero energy efficient, your electric bill will be sky high as the heaters are also electric (which they will not tell you when they show the apartment). Drainage blockage, our bathroom drainage have already got blocked twice. Elevator problem! Every other week the elevator has some kind of problem and there are maintenance crew blocking it for good couple of hours. Hot water problem! We didn't had hot water coming few weeks ago. We had to boil it on stove take it to bathroom and then take shower for good week. Any complain you have will not get solved in 24 hours as they promise. Fire alarms! Fire alarms have gone off twice in 6 months of my stay in the middle of night. I don't know if they are drills or what but we have to get down in the middle of the night. Today they gave us a notice of plumbing maintenance that water pressure will be low between 10 am till noon. It is not till 4pm that we have received first drop of water, cold tough, we received. I wish they can release me from my lease, I would take off the next day. I was new to the area and did not had any time to look for other apartments as my school was starting. I would NOT recommend any of these Alden Park apartments. People saying we have beautiful grounds and amenities, I would say look at other facilities they provide better and new.

First of all, we chose to live here because we felt that the security was worth the extra cost. Since Village Green took over, we have had a shooting that originated inside the Manor building entrance. My neighbor and I found the shell casing before the police did. They had already marked 5 she'll casings just outside the door. The neighbor took pictures of the gun, pizza box and casings. The whole incident was reported on the news. The residents had a letter placed outside their doors explaining that an incident had occured at 3:21p.m. last Tuesday, which was not Substantiated! There was a manager there when we pointed out the shell casing to the police! Another resident was told that the "incident" didn't occur here at Alden Park and that the reporter made a mistake! Later that evening, 9 firetrucks and 3 amblances pulled up to Kennelworth to bring 2 or 3 residents down 6 flights of steps ( can't use elevators in fires) and took them to the ambulances. A female resident was not allowed in at the gate at Wissahickon Ave. because of a false alarm! The pool/spa is now open 24/7....with absolutely NO security. Residents used to be required to not only sign in, but had to have an ID card to enter. Yet there are signs stating AP has Resort Class Amenities....marketing semantics. In response to resident's concerns about the lack of security in the gym area, the new management team had a built wall across the previous security office. People are moving out as quickly as they can, it seems. Scully may have had an abundance of extra workers, but they were friendly and helpful. We weren't getting tickets and tow away stickers that won't come off our cars. There used to be a parking security person who knew everybody's sticker number and basically where we all parked. No more....this crew just writes tickets and waits for the fall out. There is no communication between the management team and the residents about upcoming work by people using drones outside our windows to assess damage to the buildings. No apologies afterwards. No apologies for any of their screw ups. Lived with no AC most of the summer, but got charged extra on the power bill when the new buyers bought the place. Albert worked very hard to get a new unit installed for us at the end ofJuly. The feeling of community is slowly drying up. It seems the faster people move out, the faster the new company can reno these apts. and get more money.....or so they think. Until the SEVERE issue of the lack of security is dealt with, NO ONE will be willing to pay the extra price. The shooting did happen inside the Manor Building, the reporter didn't make a mistake. There was a real fire involving injuries in Kennilworth, not a false alarm as as stated by the guard at the gate. With all the workers here, doors are left open ALL the time. The man was shot 3 times and taken to Einstein and was in critical condition the last we heard. The shooter has not been found. If the management tells you otherwise, they are lying, not the residents or the reporters!

I have been at Alden Park for more than 3 years now. So, First, let me say I would not have stayed in the same place for 3 years unless there were some good things about it. And in fact there are some things that i actually love about the place. The grounds are in fact beautiful and the outside is generally well maintained, providing a very unique setting and landscape that is difficult to match in an urban setting at a modest price. The building IS indeed old and I think you have to be somewhat forgiving for some of the 'negatives' raised here and on other sites, in particular those pertaining to the windows and other minor inconveniences associated with maintenance. There are just some problems that are just unavoidable or at least that can't be easily addressed because the buildings are old, and you have to see many of those problems simply as the trade-off for the significant charm of this place, which is considerable. My biggest grief is with the management which, as other reviewers here and on other sites have noted, seems to be getting worse with each subsequent change of ownership. The building was sold this summer so I was holding out and hoping for a smarter, more sensible, more resident-friendly and resident-responsive management team. So far the opposite seems to be true. I had my third bicycle stolen from my car here two weeks ago, and have expressed my concerns about what I believe to be inadequate security at Alden Park both to the prior owner/management and the new current owner/management team. My understanding is that my last bicycle was stolen from an area on the grounds where the theft may have been caught on a security camera, and a request has been made to review the video tapes to determine if the perpetrator(s) can be identified; but that has yet to happen, and I have little confidence that it ever will happen. In general there is no excuse for not increasing security for the Alden Park complex... the cost of state-of-the-art security cameras and security enhancement in the form of patrols in a massive complex with 800 units (and, I am guessing, more than 1500 residents) would represent a relatively insignificant expense. Management simply doesn't seem understand that security is in fact the proverbial Achilles Heal of Alden Park. I could go on about basic "stupid stuff" the management has decided to do or not to do, stuff that simply makes no sense, where the motive seems to have been to save a few dollars but that in the long run will likely cost the owners a lot more than it saves them. But I will leave that for others to do. Under the previous management, for example, I received emails from management with all of the other 800 or so resident email addresses cc'd and made available to me, and inexcusable error and violation of the privacy of residents. And I have had to fret over missing important FED-Ex packages, one of which I was told must have been delivered to the wrong address but later showed up --thanks to at least one person there who took up the cause, was extremely apologetic and devoted himself to locating package -- as having been 'misplaced'. In summary, my suggestion to any prospective resident is, after you are shown the beautiful grounds with the beautiful pool and exercise center, to ask the leasing agent the following questions: To what extent are the grounds and buildings themselves covered by security cameras? How are those security actually used to increase the safety of residents? . Do you have any historical data regarding thefts of bicycles, cars, or other personal property of residents at Alden Park? Are you collecting and using that data on any kind of ongoing basis to decide what level of security is needed here, and how? What are the plans, if any, of increasing security? Do you look at the crime statistics pertaining to the neighborhoods that surround Alden Park? And to what extent are you using that particular data to make decisions about the security measures that you have in place or plan to put into place in the future?. And, finally... although there supposedly is now a security guard who patrols the grounds and parking lots at night, I have never seen him or her and it is unclear what

I moved here in spring 2015, and I have come across cockroaches and now a mouse in my apartment. Their staff was told from mgmt.that pest control is not considered an emergency! From my research on the issue if the problem is not taken care of right away it could become an infestation. Thanks to take care of your residents village green mgmt! And let me just say the operations manager is very rude and maintenance is Slow to respond to anything!

I can see that 90% of the reviewers on google and here gave 1 star for this place and I am sure that they would have given it less than that if they had the option because now it's a fact: Alden Park is the worst place ever in Philly. The new property management is even worse. If you decide to live there, be prepare to experience too much pain especially with the indoor trash which is unhealthy that you smell next to your apartment door. People stopped to keep the trash indoor last century when they discovered that it causes many diseases. But at Alden Park they still live in the 20th century. Second pain, is about the package delivery through the office.. Actually you have to wait for your package and they may loose it.. So if you order overnight thing never dream to get it before a week.. I will tell you about my experience: I have been shown a studio with much bigger kitchen and closet and I told the lady that I will be out of the state after 3 weeks so I want to see the apartment before leaving. I kept going back and forth, and every time she was telling me you don't have to show up again, if there is an available one I'll call you. Although, I have insisted but I couldn't see the apartment. Suddenly, a week after I left a studio was available for me and she told me you have to sign the lease online but the move in date is flexible as long as it's not more than 2 weeks. Still being out of the state, I called to postpone my move in date by only 9 days, I found a new property management and the guy working there was extremely very unhelpful and told me if you don't send the money and sign the lease you will loose that studio and there is no guarantee that we will find you a place there. NEVER SEEN SUCH A RUDE WAY TO WELCOME A NEW TENANT!!!! I sent the check by mail and I signed the lease. Here come the surprise now!! When I came back and stepped in the new place I was shocked to find a way much smaller kitchen and closet plus many things needed to be fixed knowing that the guy did not accept to wait for 9 days. Now I am living at this place for two weeks but I still have things to be fixed. Regarding my neighbor I don't have one since I live right next to the trash place which is the worst thing you may experience in your life.. So I asked the same person who terribly treated me to remove the trash place or move me to another studio because I am allergic to seafood and that may harm my health, he said I cannot do that because if someone is allergic to dogs I cannot ask his neighbor to get rid of his dog. Anyways, I really never write any review even if I have very bad experience but I took from my time to do this because I want to warn any other incoming people in order to let them avoid living within the trash and smell bad odor every morning and night and believe me that whoever comes to visit you will notice that and say something about it.

Lived there for 5 years (just moved out), every few years it is bought by a new company and each one has gotten worse and worse. Apartments are spacious, most have dishwasher and washer/dyer but in desperate need of renovation. Your rent will be raised $30-50 per year. They are pricing themselves out of the market. You pay each utility (minus water) and be prepared for a sky high electric bill regardless of your low usage! The buildings are so old and the windows are very drafty and have no insulation, the heat in the winter goes right out the window! In the winter the pipes freeze so there goes your water supply, don't even bother contacting maintenance to fix. The maintenance men are useless, don't know how to fix anything and are nothing more than a handy men. The office staff are pretty useless and aren't able to resolve or assist in whatever issue you may be having. They are also very difficult to deal with. The people who run the security company are the only sane/kind people there, however whenever you call for a package, it takes hours and often times they forget to call you! Also not enough parking for everyone in the three buildings yet they have a completely empty parking garage that they want $100 a month to park in. As a result of not enough parking, if you get back late you will have to make up your own spot which you will then get ticketed for by the PPA. Water is turned of almost weekly so if you are home during the day you are screwed. Fire alarms go off constantly in the middle of the night. Save your money, time, and sanity and look elsewhere!

Hmmm where to start.... I've lived here going on 3 years. The first year wasn't bad but ever since has been nothing but a nightmare. There is broken glass in the stairwells, in the grass, even when you walk into the basement. It's alot of fun to deal with when your walking your pet. The water pipes are always freezing in the winter because they keep the exposed and not insulated in the basement which leads to the shutting the water off basically weekly. The false fire alarms go off about 4 times a month. The elevators break monthly. The community gets shittier by the year. It took maintenance 2 years to replace my dripping sink. The new residence here are trashy, always leaving food and leftovers in the grass out front of the building all the time. The worst place I've ever lived. Btw I live in a studio and pay 1150 a month for nothing.

Horrible community. -------------- are absolute nightmares to deal with, so we took our issues to Scully Company directly. We spoke with -------------- from Scully who is supposed to over see Alden Park, who told us we could move out in 30 days without having to pay fees for breaking our lease, just call and let him know within those 30 days. 3 emails and countless calls within those days to him with no return. In LESS than one year this is what we have: 1.Cable ports in the wall broken when we moved in 2.Washing machine flooding the kitchen TWICE 3.over a week of no heat in Jan AND March BOTH DUE TO WIRES CATCHING FIRE AND MELTING TWICE....if that's not enough to make you run i don't know what is. 4.Unorganized to the point that residents are charged incorrectly in their online accounts If you do move here and experience any sort of issue, expect to call a number of times before actually connecting with someone helpful then expect to be given one of two excuses; "well our buildings are old" or "we have so many residents to take care of"

DO NOT MOVE HERE! I have lived here for two years and it's been nothing but miserable. They are constantly shutting water off or faulty fire alarms start going off for no reason. The air conditioning units are horrible during the summer, I have two dogs and the apartment temperature averages around 78 degrees because it is constantly freezing up. The people that work here are rude and rarely ever answer your questions. Can't wait to my lease is up!

If you are looking for a 'Luxury Apartment' as they advertised, you will be very disappointed. The management is lying and they will not try to help you. Problems: * No insulation between walls ( and metal studs only ). I can hear my neighbors and they can hear me very well contrary to what Andrew told me before I moved in. * Windows are old and the draft is really strong. Again, another non-luxury feature. * Mostly college kids live here. For the first 3 months there was a party every other weekend that start around 12:30am and lastede until 4am. I called throughout the night on many occasions. Security is supposed to come out but they did not. * Smoking on the balcony is not allowed but I complained for weeks and still nothing changed. * Noise throughout the early morning hours 12:30 am to 4:30 am. People talking as normal volumes or yelling many nights per week. Really low quality people here. * Management took no action to resolve any of my complaints. You do not want to live here.

Going to write a completely unbiased review about my previous place of residency, Alden Park. A pricey place but Very beautiful grounds on the outdoors. On the inside, not so much. Walls are cracking and falling apart in the higher level of my building. No one ever keeps an eye on there dogs when walking them. No one here enforces a leash policy, nor does anyone hardly ever clean up after their dog. When I first moved to the manor building I noticed the original apartment I signed a lease for with a specific layout I was shown wasn't available. When I called and asked how this happened, I was continuously put on hold several times. I then asked to talk to the manager Tabita. The supposed "manager" did not return my call for a week just to tell me I was already locked into my lease. When I moved in my apartment was filthy. It actually looked like the last tenant moved out an hour before I moved in. I once again called to see how this happened, I was then told I would receive 100 dollars off my rent. A very very very rude man frank then told me If I did not pay my k-9 fee he would then deduct it from the 100 dollar credit which is blasphemy. It seems as though people are being rented apartments that still have residents in them, hence me being shown a beautiful furnished sample, but I assume not only me but every person being shown apartments are actually signing a lease for an apartment that someone is already living in, or they are on their way out the door. Either way your not going to get what you have paid for at this place. The leasing agents are nice and courteous until you sign that lease and you are locked in. Once that is over, everytime you make a phone call to the leasing office they will be very short with you just to put you on hold and send you to maintenance. Maintenance is very very slow with repairs. Sometimes they fix the problem in your unit. And sometimes they don't. Overall this place isn't where you want to live, donot get stuck in the same situation I did where your apartment deposit is being held and you don't even end up with the product you originally paid for. It's just not honest business being ran by this supposed "scully" company.

I rented a small studio at Alden Park because it was nearby my school. My leasing agent, Sheila was rude from the beginning, I had taken my grandmother with me to see the unit, and while she's completely mobile she's a little slow and Sheila walked way ahead of us without keeping pace with us which I thought was rude. She also failed to explain the variations in lease and didn't attach the correct information for moving in. When I went to move in she said that I didn't have the correct renter's insurance because I had never seen the minimal amount on the sheet she didn't sent. She refused to acknowledge that she made a mistake and we spent several hours debating as she told me I couldn't move in that day, even though I had signed the lease starting that day and had a moving truck outside. Finally when I threatened to take my pro-rated check back and would move in at the beginning of the next month did she think it was a good idea to check with her supervisor and I was able to move in. I thought my struggles were over, however the water has been turned off frequently, they closed the parking garage for almost the entire year making parking very difficult (which I wasn't warned about for moving in). Maintenance is very friendly and fixed things on time, but if you want anything from the leasing office be prepared to call multiple times and leave multiple messages with no call back. Furthermore they require 60 days notice of a lease renewal which is the longest I've ever seen and their pet requirements are the highest I've ever seen. I can't wait to get out of here, because dealing with the leasing office is unwarranted stress. I'm currently trying to get out of the lease renewal because of medical difficulties and even though the new lease hasn't started it doesn't look like they're going to help me and I finally got to reach the person to talk to after a week of calling. I would not recommend Alden Park.

MOVE-IN: I moved in this week and have loved Alden Park thus far. My apartment had new carpeting, new paint, and looked like it had been professionally cleaned. Move in was easy as new tenants reserve a freight elevator for 3-4 hours at a time. The only real hiccup was that my washer didn't work, but it was repaired within 24 hours. I made a few other repair suggestions (replace bathroom shoer curtain rod, check the fire alarm in my apartment) on my move-in form and they were addressed within the first 2-3 days. The maintenance man was friendly and professional. FACILITIES: The campus is beautiful and maintained well. I took a stroll around and there were people playing tennis, walking to the gym, walking their dogs (leashed), etc ... Within my building, it's generally quiet although you'll hear a door shut or a dog bark here and there - BUT I am a stickler for keeping a quiet environment and have been very pleased with other tenants noise levels. As previously mentioned, I have a small washer and dryer in my unit, as well as central AC, a wood-burning fireplace, and a walk-in closet in a huge bathroom. PARKING: There are always parking spots although sometimes they're a little far if you come home later than the main evening rush around 7pm. MANAGEMENT: The leasing professionals are friendly and helpful, and are a great resource for finding things nearby (e.g. SEPTA station, bank). TENANTS: Everyone. Small families, young professionals, young couples, middle-aged and older living alone, college students - probably from Phila U and they don't seem like the party type, etc... People are friendly in the elevator and around campus, but generally everyone goes their own way. Overall, this is a great find for responsible renters who are looking for a nice place to call home.
