Happy at Home

I have lived in summerhill apartments for 3 years now the staff is awesome maintenance problems are always solved in a hurry I haven't had any problems since staying here I love it I just want to thank Adriana Mercedes and Alejandra for making this very happy place for me and my family.

The office and the staff are all amazing. They're always very respectful and professional. Everyone really tries to help the residents. Maintenance requests are handled quickly. Inside the fenced grounds, there's lots of shade trees and grassy areas. It's really quiet and well lit at night. Every apartment has a new high-efficincy air-conditioner. The swimming pool was just updated. Nearby, the neighborhood has a playground and a 2 mile shaded and paved nature trail. DART rail is a 15 minute walk away. There is a Tom Thumb just around the corner.

I moved here because I was referred by a locator right before the pandemic took over us. While waiting for my application to get approved the office staff was very communicative about my process. Once I moved in every maintenance request was quickly resolved. The office staff is very kind and attentive. What attracted me the most was that the property is clean usually in apartments the dumpsters are full and ugly around well not here! The big plus is that the grass is green all around! I can definitely say they didn’t lie when I signed my lease and I was told by all Office Ladies “Welcome Home”!

I just moved here - my requirement s are all met - the cleanliness/neighborhood/staff/location & more - i am a veteran & retired and the need for peace & quiet is a must - they fit the bill - i do believe this is my home for a while - love it !!!!!!

I can not rave more about this apartment complex. The staff is beyond amazing. They are truly the reason I resigned my lease and will continue to do so. Mercedes is the absolute BEST. All maintenance issues are dealt with that day. The complex is clean, safe, and all the residents are super nice. I've never lived in a place where everyone says "good morning" to eachother! Love Love LOVE this place!

I don't recommend this community because it is overpriced for the location. The property is stone age. New paint job and window screens. Everything else is old and ancient especially the paint, carpet and APPLIANCES. Most of all, the water bill is excessive. If you lived in a 3 bedroom house your water bill would be less than 20.00 a month. Here the water bill is between 25.00 - 40.00 a month. Lately, it's been over 40.00 and that's for a one bedroom. Find a place worthy of your money because this is not it.

Summer hill apartments has a great office leasing staff and a great maintenance staff! I'm always seeing the maintenance guys busy and doing what maintenance guys do and I don't hear neighbors complaining about there apartments needing to get worked on. The neighbors aren't loud or have loud music playing they respect all of the neighbors. The area isn't the best but from the years that I've stayed here I can definitely see a dramatic change in the crime rate! I'm sure if you pay your bills on time you'll be just fine and you'll love it

Incredible staff! I've lived here for four years and I've never had a significant problem. Any small problem I've had, was taken care of quickly by the maintenance team. The office staff is top notch. They are professional and compassionate. It seems they truly love what they do. Summer Hill is a great place to live!

Initially moving into this property and neighborhood was a positive experience. However as time progressed both have deteriorated especially the neighborhood. Now the office personel overall throughout the years are cordial, respectful, and treat you as valued tenants. With the exception of one individual. The former Leasing Consult now Assistant Manager Mercedes Alvarez has the worst interpersonal skills I've ever encountered. Many residents have the same complaint of how she speaks at them and not with them. I've observed on different occasions where she was short with residents asking them to leave the office. There is a significant difference in how the past and present office and maintenance staff interact with the residents opposed to the current Assistant Manager. They speak with you in a respectful, congenial tone. I've noticed over the years the different styles of addressing agitated tenants. The Property Managers from Rose to Adriana, Assistant Managers from Yolanda to Christina, and Leasing Consultants from Christina to Alex with the exception of Mercedes deescalate problems with upset tenants. Mercedes as a Leasing Consultant and especially since her promotion to Assistant Manager exhibits a know-it-all, combative tone the majority of the time. Hopefully in time the neighborhood will be transformed back into the positive community it was. In addition it would behoove you to make a change in the management team on this property. Not the entire team but just one member that's not really a team player. Upon observation she appears only concerned with her own clawing up advancement not the improvement of the Summer Hill community.

Summerhill are the worst apartments to live in. The staff in the office is rude as hell especially Mercedes.They want you to pay all that high rent and talk ---- to you. THey have their favorite tenants who can do whatever they want to do. Take your money elsewhere. Dont bother. Every night you hear gunshots. THE neighborhood is terrible. There are alot of families with people living there not on there lease so you could be staying next door to an illegal immigrant or sex predator.

I don't know who are posting the 5-star reviews but those are way off. At best it is a 3 star place and only b/c to be in the hood, it's ok. No one bothers you. The neighbors seem friendly. And, if you put in a request for service or maintenance, it seems to be handled fairly quickly - at least thats been my exper. so far. I only signed a short-term lease though b/c I don't like places with inflated water bills - bills so high - you may as well be in a house. Your electric will be high too b/c there's no insulation. There are huge gaps around the doors. Weather and BUGS come in. We killed 5 cock roaches (3 in the same day) within 4 days when we moved in. I guess they came in while the door was open as we were moving in. The apt units themselves, seem relatively large. However, the larger the apt. the larger you're bill will be! There's no outside storage. There's not a lot of closet space inside either. There is a huge walk in closet that's suppose to make up for that, I think. The appliances work but they are not modern nor updated. Lots of patchwork on the inside. Most apts do that though. At least it's not sloppy patchwork, for the most part. The kitchen and bathroom are small. Thermostat is individually controlled - which is always good - b/c you're not at the mercy of the apt to turn your heat or air on. I don't understand the point of assigned parking, when there's no one around when someone is in your spot!. I've come home to find someone in my spot. Yet, when we were moving in, they called a damn tow truck on us...likely we came out in time. Speaking of parking, unlike in most complex's you won't be able to look out your window and see your car. This is true for most people here. There is a 10pm curfew. I suppose to keep mischief down and riff-raft out. As with the pool pass they give you, I guess they don't want unwanted people in the pool - which makes sense. Overall, again, these are not bad apts. It's just the location. It's not the best location. The area is surrounded by apts though. It does shut down after about 11pm. Not much activity or traffic for a busy street. Unlike on Forest Ln, which never ---- down and the street noise kept us us all night. They do spray. Aside from the cockroaches mentioned earlier, two small roaches and a few bugs we've never seen, the problem does seem contained. I suggest you bomb out your place and seal all cracks and openings as we did if you do move here. The people in the office seem nice. I've not really dealt with them that much but when I have, they seem pleasant and helpful. I would just suggest to everyone considering to visit for yourself, if possible. Visit day and night. Ask questions of the residents. Ask to see the actual apt you will be renting, if available. Most places do - do that now. Considering what you'll be paying, that's the least they can do. My one year lease is almost up and I won't be resigning but I would resign if I had too and I would recommend this place. I would give this place 2.5 out of 5 stars easily. 3 overall based on my own experience. I will amend this review if I take pics before we leave. But, overall, the apt is as stated above. Not the Taj Mahal, but not a shelter either. I have lived in better but I haven't lived in worst. At the end of the day, these apts aren't bad. They just need updating and need to be in a better location - which is not possible - lol...the water bill, should be adjusted too!

Worst apartment ever!!! Had problems since I moved here. From roaches to my floor flooding when it rain. On top of everything the manager Adriana Rodriguez is rude!! Glad the let me out my lease I will never recommend them to anyone. Christina and Mercedes was the best people out there!!

Adrianna and Mercedes are awesome to work with, and they have solved EVERY issue that I thought was an issue, and made me feel that much better for contacting them first! From the application process to the simplest of things, they always come through for me. A neighbor even gave me a jump one morning so I wouldn't be late for work. Most people speak first, and my parking space is never taken! lol !!! The management is A-1 in my book.

I've been a resident of Summer Hill for nearly 7 years. I left and came back.I have had issues with parking but nothing major.The staff of Summer Hill have always been very nice.When I rented my apartment Christina help me and when I left she told me I will return and she was right.I would recommend Summerhill apartments there affordable and nice.

If you have lived here and you were satisfied that was either because 1. you are crazy, 2. you are mexican. They office people are only nice to the mexican race they show a lot of discrimination. There parking is hideous once again all the -------- have more than two parking spots hell the people in the office have like 4 to 5 parking spots for they household and wonder why the parking is so messed up. These are the worse set of apartments I have ever lived in. Looks are deceiving. They are nice to you to get you in to get they quota and your money but after you are in there if you are not of the mexican race they will harass you after you have signed that lease. The manager herself Adiana she has like more than the legal amount of people alloWed by the state to dwell in a two bedroom. Like they say the pot cant call the kettle black. But words of advise and a little bit of wisdom -DON'T MOVE HERE BEWARE IF YOU ARE BLACK OR WHITE.

I'am a resident of Summer Hill apartments.I've been here for 5 month and the staff has been very professional and management is Stupendous. When ever I had a promble it was easy resovled. The minor repairs that came up was quickly taking care of by outstanding maintance staff. Rent is reasonable and the neighborhood is up and coming.I have been VERY happy in my apartment.

The Summer Hill Apartments are an affordable place to live. I have lived at this complex for over a decade. While living here I haven't had any issues with the management or maintenance staff. Whenever anything needed repairing it would be completed in efficient and timely manner. The management doesn't put with any crap. They work closely with DPD and their private contract security to combat crime and deal with problem tenants. If you move to this area of town I recommend that check this property out.

I have to agree with the last to reviews that were just wrote . I have been a resident of Summer Hill Apartments going on five years. I have seen it go through many changes. But there is one thing that hasn't change is the management . The office staff is great there always willing to help in any way. I have to thank Christina and Adriana and Ms. Haydy for making my stay here at Summer Hill a nice place to live. The years that I have lived here have been great. I have had issue with my apartment , they were always taking care of in a timely manor.

Summer Hill Apartments is a great place to live. Summer Hill management and staff care about the residence. Summer Hill is not just a great place to live Summer Hill is a great place to call home it is a community of good people. Personally I have been apart of the Summer Hill family sense August of 2012 and I love the environment because it is so enriching good social programs and after school program were kids are safe and wisely directed by Mr. Smith. Who also is a behavioral psychology major and besting Selling book author. The property landscaping at Summer Hill with its beautiful flowers and trees, its full size pool with recreation center and social activities for residents is wonderful. I rate Summer Hill on a scale of one to ten as a ten why, because Summer Hill has great management that really care about you, Summer Hill is a great environment enriched by beautiful landscaping, Summer Hill has a great after school program, and Summer Hill is a great community to call home. Not many apartments offer what Summer Hill does all in one place. Therefore, if I were looking for a place to call home I would look no further than Summer Hill Apartments.

Summer Hill Apartments are a luxury to live in they are the #1 apt that I would recomment anyone to live at,Phenomenal office staff Rose Diaz and Christina Castaneda from the beginning always made our living a safe place to live in through the transitioning of management Christina always stepped up to take the management roll to making our apt/home a safe and nice clean place to live in and Christina is the reason I continued to live Summer Hill property because she is very friendly outgoing personality even with people I recommend to live there and we all enjoyed helping to make a safe better place to live and not be in fear.....Thanks for Summer Hill staff Christina and Adrianna Working together and continue to make Summer Hill a home not just a apartment!

Ive been a resident since 2004 and I have NEVER had any problems with the office staff or with my apartment. They maintenance staff is great and so is the office staff there always helpful and understanding about things..I would recommend people to live here..the parking suck but other then that I love living here. the truth is...

Its been a few years since ive lived here, but i thought id write a review seeing that most people are trashing it. Ill start with the problems: parking wasnt the greatest. There were times when i would have to park kinda far because i came in late and everything close by was taken up. And for sure there was a roach problem. but nothing some bug bombs didnt take care of. the good stuff: rent was cheap, office people were cool with me, i paid my rent on time and didnt do anything to have an issue with them. I lived in the first building when you come in, so that may be why i didnt have any problems, but besides the people above me have sex every night, it was pretty quite around there. every now and them you might get your loud music rollin thru, but wasnt an issue for me. One thing i will say: mail boxes were sooo far from me. i used to only check my mail like once every 2 weeks. but, other than that, great apartments... i would recommend!
