i have had a great experience so far after moving into the Residences at Starwood. There are def areas that need improvement, but management knows and they are diligently working in it. Any issues that I have come across since being here have been addressed immediately (within an hr at most), which goes way above my expectations. The air conditioning does seem to run all the time and maintenance was out quickly to see what could be done. I haven't heard back as of yet, but have no doubt I will be hearing back soon and it will be fixed the best possible way. The only other "complaint" would be the fact time warner must be used. I don't particularly care for the company and may need to cut back in certain areas, however this area is not an option. That does create a problem, but I was told this moving in. The office staff could not be friendlier and are quick to accommodate. I haven't ever experienced an office staff like this as well as maintenance. Pros and cons about the darkness. Although it could pose some danger, you go outside prepared like you would anywhere. The darkness eliminates the street lights from shining into my apartment adding to a homey feel. I look forward to the continued improvements being made and know I will be happy here.

I absolutely love my place at the Residences at Starwood! I have lived here for five years and I could not imagine living somewhere else. Honestly, I have no complaints--I've never experienced any excessive noise issues with my neighbors, and I've always felt safe and secure. The apartments are well-maintained and the landscaping is gorgeous! What I like the most, though, is the inside of my apartment. The vaulted ceiling and fireplace adds so much character! The staff has always been super friendly and have responded to my requests/inquiries in a timely manner. Easily, five stars!

The office staff was great to work with and made my move easy. Brittany was a pleasure to work with and made sure all my paperwork was completed as needed since I was moving from out of state. All I had to do was pick up the keys as scheduled. The apartment has a great layout and the apartment is very quiet.

Before writing this review I read quite a few of the reviews dating back to 2014 I honestly agree with a lot of negative comment. Why I know it's true because the manager shared that with me when I filled my application about the property, "She said" until recently this property has gone downhill, however her and her team of management have been aware of that and diligently working on improvement in all area. what was impressive to me, The fact that the management recognize the problems and communicated to me. I did appreciate that honesty and decided to move into this property. After criminal and Credit background check and proof of income my application was approved. The maintenance was right on schedule and I did see a genuine effort from the new management team to accommodate me to move in within 24 hours after my application approval. In my first month of living in this property I can only see improvements and expect a excellent recovery in the near future. I do recommend anyone to move into this apartment complex.

Moved here in early in the year. Numerous outside lights don't work making it dangerous at night. One of the security gates is always broken, if not both. The tanning bed is cracked/broken/old. The pool is small but nice. Gym is small and outdated with broken equipment. You are forced to pay first billing. Through first billing they bill you $200 a month for cable/internet/valet trash (never once have they taken my trash, I have to take it once it starts to smell) You email the office regarding ANY issue and they NEVER reply. Unless you are a prospective tenant, you do not exist to them. Many of the mailboxes do not lock. I Moved here for work from Colorado where they have the highest utility cost in the country. When I was paying $175-$225 for everything up there, with this first billing I haven't had a bill under $300. There lease is only for 11.5 Months but you are required to pay for 12. They told me I had double sinks when she sent me the walk through video via Iphone but when I packed my family up and got here, no double sinks, carpet needs replacing 2 light fixtures don't work. As I drove across the country with a moving company & family my hands are tide. I am forced to take what I got now. Needless to say, I will not be renewing my lease & HIGHLY recommend doing a personal walk through & assess the bills before you sign a lease at this facility.

Love my Apartment! two bedroom, 2 bath, priced right. Office staff are extremely helpful and professional. Grounds are newly landscaped, small community with nice neighbors. Everything in my apt. is working well, have not had to use maintenance at all. Only negative is having to use Time Warner cable they provide but have been informed that the contract with them is about up and then you can choose to go another route.

Worst EVER! I will never tell anyone to rent here. AC is horrible, First Billing is the biggest ripoff! They charge you $89 for basic cable and internet - for the same price you could get a much better place anywhere. Pros- Garages Cons - Everything else!

Basically a housing project that you are paying thousands of dollars to live in. No a/c. Apartment is always hot. Plumbing in apartment non-existent. Water never drains in bathtubs, toilets, or sinks. Gates never work. Plus poor lighting equals major safety concerns. Grounds not kept at all. Dog feces and trash everywhere. Pool is the size of a bathtub and packed with people. Probably a biohazard. Gym is the size of a closet with 20-year-old equipment. People in office could care less about your concerns and extremely unprofessional. Utilities are astronomical. Also forced to pay Time Warner hundreds a month for sub-par cable and internet. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Not worth it.

I just recently moved into the apartment complex and my experience so far has been a good one. The move in was easy, the lease was properly explained to me, and the staff very personable people. I do wish that we had a different internet and cable provider along with the opportunity to choose if we only if we want one or the other. I also, wish we could elect to opt out of the trash service. I am very happy with my apartment and how quiet the community is. I'm looking forward to living here. I haven't had an interaction with maintenance yet so I can't give a true critique of them.

I Just moved here from New Jersey and so far I have nothing negative to say about this community. My 2 BR apartment is very spacious with 19 ft ceilings. The staff is Great! Nola & Gloria will go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. Hats off to you and the management.

My ac unit is about 20 years old at least. It is so hot in my apartment at all times, especially at night. I am sweating to death. I walked around the complex and asked various tenants if they have the same problem. Every single tenant tells me the same. Yes, their apartments are hot. Every tenant complained about how hot it was in their apartment, even at night. My electricity bill for last month was $200. Terrified to see my bill for this month. On top of the almost $200 time warner bill I am forced to pay, just realize you will be paying at least around $400 bucks extra on top of your rent. It is definitely frustrating that you call and call these people in the office and they do nothing to fix your unit. Keep giving you the run around because they do not want to replace the old rusted broken units. I am paying my rent on time. Keeping up with my end of the lease that I signed. They are not. This apartment complex has really high rent. Don't see how they can qualify as luxury if the ac units are decades old and should be replaced. Very wrong...do not move into this complex unless you enjoy your apartment being at least 85-90 degrees. There is no relief whatsoever. They told me they will never replace these units or fix them.

Unfortunately this property has gone down hill. Nice townhome look to it. The office staff change all the time. And are very rude. And discussing. They only care about the commission. And once your in you are toast... when you want a work order be prepared to wait awhile or have them forget about it. Nothing ever gets done here. Also the shared electronic is absurd. The Timewarner crap is a joke. The Landscape is terrible now. No grass. Mud on sidewalks. The outside apartment needs new wood. It's rotten. Gutters are gone. Paint is peeling off. Like really. We pay alot here don't you think they can fix all this.... gzzzz. Stay Away. They don't care. Hope this helps.

Horrible place to live,, absolutely "HORRIBLE". The management is no more than conniving, rude & money hungry people. Staff changes frequently and they specilize in hiring nasty, trashy women. They will talk to you nice when they have to make their commission, after you become a tenant they don't even know what courtesy is. The maintenance does not exist, they can't keep people, the maintenance guys talk trash about the place theirself. The buildings have "LEAKS" and plumbing is garbage. The exhaust does not work in any bathrooms, AC does not work in all rooms (all tenants will tell you that). Leaks under kitchen sink and roaches due to the leaks. The pest control is a joke. This money hungry community do not replace anything!! You will pay $30/month to carry the trash to the dumpter. And yes, you pay for something called "shared electricity" meaning, you pay for the lights in the parking lot, leasing office etc. This is one ripoff community. People need to speak up and save others from renting here. The good reviews here are fake and they staff post them theirself. They are Fraud!!!!

Don't do it! The utility bills are high because the AC units are way too small for the apartments. They hit you with hidden fees monthly. You have to get cable (Time Warner) through them and pay water and trash to them. Our bill averages an additional $200 per month, on top of $1,800 for a 3 BR. The cable is, at best, basic cable with no premium channels and some of the channels are not clear. If you can go somewhere else, you should. This is so not worth it. And they do a terrible job of keeping the landscape up. The property looks pretty bad. The only positive is that the maintenance staff is pretty good.

These apartments are probably some of the most affordable in the area. The leasing staff was very helpful throughout the entire application process and Gloria is great with answering all questions. I haven't had any issues regarding noise or the neighbors. The apartment I moved into is pretty basic, no upgrades, but the apartment is nice for the price and the complex is in a great location.

For the past 3 years, I have cared for my parents. Before that, I was in in the Army. I needed to move in 3 weeks; it took a full week for them to run and deny my application. Why? No prior rental history (even though I had an exemplary record renting there when it was Stone Manor). I was willing to even pay the full 12 month lease UP FRONT, but was denied. Have fun with these elitists.

Location is great, the apartments look nice and the layouts are like townhomes with attached garages for many units...now the bad. There are no amenities at this complex save the mini size pool (size of a bathtub)...the apartment should have been cleaner when I moved in (cigarettes in the garage and balcony leaves in the garage) seems they would at least try in regards to that. Paint. There's over spray all over. (The floors, the ceiling fans, the door handles) kind of lazy and pathetic. I've had maintenance attempt to enter my unit with no notice (I'm glad I deadbolted) The heating and cooling systems are not adequate forsuch open floor plans...Your bills will be astronomical. The cable. Its mandatory and overcharged to the Tenant. For $135 I could have premium cable with HBO and the fastest internet but thru their bundled service it gets u pretty much just basic plus and regular internet... So just add $135 to the monthly rent quoted. So overall I would advise that you look elsewhere...you might find better for the money. If not its not a bad place to live just know your costs will be higher than you expect, and other newer complexes with more amenities and fewer hidden costs may be a better option UPDATE: I moved out and so glad...its summer in TX and now I know what a real air conditioner is supposed to feel like. Notice all the 5 star comments are people that just moved in...they offer to pay $25 in gift cards to write a good review

We moved here in June 2013 and the apartments look nice, but the insulation is horrible. During the summer months, our 3BR/2BTH utility bill was no lower than $350 per month with 3 people and the thermostat set to 78. Yes, 78 degrees! It is an inferno, but you have to turn the air on or it easily gets to 85 degrees in the apartment. It is now winter. Last month's bill was $585!!!!! We just received the newest bill and it's $435. The insulation is so bad when you turn on the heat, all of the air seeps out through windows and doors. No one should be paying over $300 for utilities in an apartment. If you move here, prepare yourself for astronomical utility bills. Everyone has complained to the office and all they do is shrug their shoulders and make sure you pay your rent. I say keep it moving and just rent a house. The apartment complexes in Frisco seem to be consistently bad. You will pay much less by renting a home. Believe me! Between their First Utility monthly bill (which covers basic cable and internet through Time Warner, water and garbage) that averages $200 per month AND the high utility bills, you can rent a house on a golf course and be so much more comfortable and happy. Happy Hunting!

I recently made the move from MN to DFW landing at Residences at Starwood upon family referral. I like the location of the property, its ideal to begin fresh with DNT toll way and all major shopping right at the corner. However, the property is not well maintained. There is potential, but seems like effort is not made. Management is laidback and for the most part inexperienced. Both inside the apartments and outside lack cleanness standard. Coming from Minneapolis I was terrified to enter into an under cleaned Apt. I was not happy with standard and had to clean the house myself. There were extremely dirty window tracks filled with gunk & grime, cheerios lying around the dishwasher, paint stain all over the house on floors, door knobs and cabinets. The list is long for me. It's unbelievable how the management does not care about the condition of the homes before allocating them, I guess the pressure is to fill the vacancy. Although, I must say, the ladies upfront are sweet and friendly, yet management standards are low. Or its the staff / cleaners who they have to work with is the problem. They are most definitely under staffed for the size of the property. I would not recommend the place to friends or family and would rather advice to opt for newer developments.

This place at one time was a great place to live. Now management is horrible. They never call you back. The property looks like hell. The trash dumpsters are overflowed and trash all beside the dumpster. They are letting anyone move in and last night there were 9 police cars in the complex. Maintenance is bad. They put inexperienced personnel on the emergency service. Please look elsewhere to live.
