Happy to be gone!
I just moved out of Residences at Starwood and couldn't be happier! While I did like my unit, the grounds were unkempt there was a lot of police activity as well as people stealing DISH units from tenants. The excessive/hidden utilities is the main reson I left! Run don't walk away from this location or any TCG property!

Run Dont walk away from this place
The staff (for the 2 weeks that they are usually there)are incredibly rude and have no tact. They are overpiced for the so called "amenities" that dont exist. If you want to be hasseld by management for non existent problems this is the place to be.

Just keep on driving down the road
This place is okay in terms of safety. I haven't had any problems, but there are lots of teens in the complex who bring their shady friends and can appear questionable. The management turnover is ridiculous, the new staff is somehow more fake than the first! These are pro-sales people and not very customer oriented. It's all about charging for every little thing they can. But, my biggest "con" is the ancient air conditioning system this complex espouses. It is old and inefficient. My bills during the Spring months have been in the $170's and last summer it neared $300!!! I have less than 1000 sq ft apt and pay about the same as those who live in a house twice this size! The maintenance do what they can with what crappy A/C systems the complex uses. I have to run the ceiling fans and a standing fan in conjunction with the A/C to keep the place at a moderately comfortable 80 degrees!! It's beyond ridiculous!!!!!!! When I moved in, I had a laundry list of things wrong with the unit: it smells like dog ---, is super hot inside, and there was even broken glass on the carpet covered stairs when I first walked in!!! They ignored the pleas saying that it would cool down once the A/c was running, and ignored my request for carpet cleaning (it still smells like smelly dog butt). I ended up having to clean up the broken glass. Also, the appliances are old and about the cheapest you can ever find. The apts are contracted with Time Warner so you have no choices for your cable/internet provider. They also contract with an energy company so no choices there, either. I'm just waiting for my lease to end and I'm outta here!! :)

Do little things matter?
I could try to list all of the good qualities, but in reality, it is far easier to post a few little things and make the general assumption that everything else is just dandy. Parking is a bummer where we are... until we added to spots under the carport for a small monthly charge. There are a few places that could use additional sidewalk because it doesn't link up with existing sidewalk and you either walk around a bunch of cars or walk through the grass/ dirt... which would be no big deal, except that our neighbor allows her dog to doo right there instead of in the large grassy area with the dog doo bags for picking up after. It's part of having a dog - you pick up it's doo. I also think she has a horse up there as well, because someone sounds like they are beating on a bass drum with each step. Hmmmm... oh, and the kitchen cabinet space is not the greatest. None of the drawes are large enough to hole a silverware tray so we had to bring one in. Assume all else is fair to positive.

Facts About Residences at Starwood, not a rant
I have lived here for three years and would not recommend living here because of the company that owns/runs the place. This is not a rant. These are just the facts about the downside of living at Residences at Starwood... 1. Mandatory cable charge - whether or not you have a television or want cable. You have to use Time Warner Cable and if you would like digital cable or premium channels, you have to set it up separately and pay for it separately. The cost is approximately $110/month just for regular cable - nothing fancy. And this is not a competitive price. 2. For a small one bedroom, the water, trash, etc. is $60/month. 3. Persistent and borderline harrassing phone calls and emails begin as soon as 5 days past your utilities/cable due date if the amount is not paid in full. They also threaten eviction, which I'm not sure is even legal. 4. Rental increases each year are at a minimum $30...at least that is what I have been told the last two years. They begin calling you to renew as early as 3 months prior to your lease renewal date. 5. I have watched at least 3 property managers and three teams of workers come and go in my 3 years here. Each team has been nice and pleasant and then suddenly one day they are all gone. 6. The mail carrier constantly puts other people's mail in my box, which makes me wonder how much of my mail I am not recieving. 7. The ventilation between apartments is poor. My neighbor smokes and I can smell it in my apartment. I like the location of this complex - especially considering where I work. However I am just not OK with the amount of money I am having to give The Conner Group each month when you add up the rental increases and the mandatory fees. I also feel like residents are treated more like college students living in dorms instead of adults who are renting homes in a community. Again, this is not from the staff, but from The Conner Group.

WORST MANAGEMENT IN THIS AREA
This company that manages and owns these apartment are the worst in this area. Dont make a mistake of moving in her, it just looks good around the main entry an dthe office and they seem nice at first, after they get you to sign the lease everything goes down hill. You will definitely pay lot more in utilities that this company owns their self. They are really ripping people off and making a lot of money in the process. Staff changes here all the time and the new manager that took over couple of month ago started posting 5.0 star ratings to fool people. LOL

Don't Rent Here !!!
You will seriously regret your decision if you rent here. They are thiefs !! There is no outside water company you pay that to the management company,so they rip you off by charging for the water you dont even use, you'll pay over $80 for a small apt with just 2 people.. it is ridicolous, they also charge you so much for trash, that you throw in the dumpster yourself and charge you $15/month for pest control which is never done, YES $15 each month for apts that are infested with spiders and other crap and they never do the pest control. This is the only apt in this area that forces you to pay them for the bulk account basic cable and internet and they rip you off by charging $95/ month. YES $95.. There is only ONE MAINTENANCE GUY for this large community, so nothing gets done. You can complain and request to have things fixed and it never gets done. You will be washing your dishes by hand and lifting the garage door manually, since they will not repair things !!!! The women there are snotty & rude to the residents, and they make fun of you. The new manager -------, is just as much of a lousy ----- as the previou manager -----.

Three years of nice surroundings here
I have lived here for three years. I have had great experiences with the management and staff at the leasing office. The fitness center is never crowded, so you're able to go in and out without having to wait for someone to finish with equipment. The maintenance staff has been very prompt with whatever was needed. You don't have to worry about noise outside - other than the wind!! The Residences of Starwood is very KID FRIENDLY as well!!!!!!

Great place to live
We love our 2bedroom 2bathroom unit. For the price and location this was an excellent choice for us. In addition, it was in a great school district. We moved in December 2011 and thus far have enjoyed our new "home." I have 2 young children - was happy to see other young children living in the complex. LOVE the easy access to the highways and very convenient to have Walmart Market/Kroger and shopping centers around the corner. The staff members are friendly and responsive to our concerns and questions. At times a little slow on answering the phone line. Rather than leave a voice message I usually just go to their office and someone is always there to talk to. Our apartment is clean and spacious. Parking hasn't been a problem for us but wished I had picked an apartment with attached garage. We live on the bottom unit, at times we can hear noise from our upstair neighbors. It's to be expected, it's apartment living. Overall it's peaceful and would I recommend this place to others.

The bad outweighs the good
I have lived in this complex for may years. Here are the cons: 1. The front and back gates are always broke. 2. The management changes very frequently. 3. The cost of the cable and internet adds almost $100 to your water bill. You are not able to opt out of this option. 4. The pest control fee is quite high and I have never seen them since I have lived here. 5. They inspect your apartment 7 to 8 times a year. 6. Parking it very tight especially if you live in an area of the complex with garages. 7. Utility rooms are small. The dryer spot is usually under the water heater, so it is hard to attach the dryer to dryer vent duct. Here is the pros. 1. All the apartments have first floor entry.

Experience at Starwood Apartments
I moved here in Feb., 2009 and management has always been understanding, caring, sincere, and quick to respond toward my needs. I understand things must take priority, just like living in a house. Also, people are human and sometimes you might need to followup...just like any other place. When living in a house and you need repairs or whatever it's usually a day or so to get someone out...here they respond much quicker! There will always be negative people in this world, we can only try to encrourage them; but you can't please everyone! Some think the grass is more green somewhere else, shock-they end up back here! I've always lived in a house until I lost my job and my mom came down sick. This place is my home and the residents and staff are my family. I wouldn't live anywhere else!

Apartment review
The management is excellent answer all your questions if you need help with anything always willing to help. the grounds kept well. the maintenance staff come in a timely matter. I would recommend this place to all my friends. However a new problem about parking they have carports available but some new tenants park where ever they want they park at the carports which they don't pay for they probably realize they don't check to see where they park, but they should send a letter to every tenant about the parking regulations. It is not fair for anyone that pays for the carport especially when they come home and someone is in their spot. I believe that these people know that they don't check because they will sometime park under another carport. I don't think this is necessary because their is plenty of parking.

I am surprised at the negative reviews!!!
This was my first apartment experience- I have always lived in houses. I was surprised at the negative reviews. I have always had really pleasant experiences with the management. I have lived here 2 years - maintenance has always responded immediately and as far as parking- I have a covered parking spot so it's not an issue for me. Noise- I don't find it noisy except after school when kids get off the bus. Overall I am extremely satisfied - The rent is reasonable, the management friendly and maintenance staff very attentive. Keep in mind, this is NOT a brand new apartment complex- so the grounds will not look new. Additionally, the construction is fine, but it is not brand new. You cannot compare this to a 2012 high end apartment complex. This is safe, reasonably priced and friendly neighbors and staff. The apartments are nice.

Most Horrible Management
This mangement company or owner whoever the ----- is the worst !!!!! They lie to you to get you in to make their commissions, I also think they hire former car sales people here. All the specials they promise you disappear after you move in and they claim that the specials ended right before u moved in ( what a joke )... Yes the place in just not taken care of. the grounds suck,, parking suck,, staff suck,, maintenance suck !!!! They rip you off by charging outragous monthly water, trash, pest control and a basic cable/internet,, and all this money goes directly to them and they are making profit off of those services... You'll pay over $220 a month just for these things and you are still going to pay for electric and home phone service separately...

This Place is Terrible!
This apartment is a scam. There are so many hidden charges. The owner of the complex owns the company that you have to pay for your trash, sewer, water, ect. and it is over $100 a month more than other apartments in our area with NO explanation. The grounds are NOT taken care of. The landscaping is neglected. There is no parking for our apartment other than the spots that you have to pay extra for. The staff are truly "salesmen" in the negative sense of the word. They will say anything, even if it is a lie, in order to get you into their apartments. PLEASE STAY AWAY!

That is it... the comments that recommend "Yes" are semi true. but the person who claims to be writing the comment is not the actual person. Some of my people who have lived here before knows every time we start getting those survey calls the "Yes" recommendations start appearing. They hire one idiot who calls your phone who does not leave a message but will keep calling until you answer until she finds one out of probably a hundred people to write a survey. The only thing is, is that she does not post the full comment made by the actual tenant. Another time is when management is moved from one property to the next because they sit in the office and harass people. and people start complaining about nothing being done. The Connor Group will replace them with management from other apartments and when you complain to the "new management" which are only new to that property. The good ones meaning the ones who actually want to help people out do not get moved they get fired. ALSO have them to explain to you if you find your self desperate enough to move in about the hidden fees in the "Water Bill" OMG from $55 too $155. They add on all these other bills and everything. You can find better and please do.

Don't move to this apartment
Thank God we are done with this place. We found black mold in bathroom and laundry room caused by the water leak. The maintenance guy sprayed it with bleach. Two weeks later mold still existed. They should ve inspected this unit before letting anybody to move in. The place looked and felt like dungeon when we moved in. You can smell the mold! The carpet was so dirty, you can see the stains all over it. I m not exaggerating this. If you read other reviews, the problems are almost similar. The AC doesn t work properly. The air doesn t flow fairly to all the rooms. I spoke to many tenants, they have same issues with AC/Heaters. The maintenance guy said it has something to do with the way the unit built. There you go!!! Don t move here if you don t want to get high electricity bill. I rented 1 bedroom (approximately 800 sq ft). I work M-F. I only at home for few hours in a week and had set AC to 76 F. The bill /month was $180 minimum. Cable, internet, sewer, water and trash bill is outrageous. I paid over $100 on cable and internet through TWC and Heartland Regional Company handles all this bill which makes it even worse! They jacked up the price. The Connor Group owns this property, please do your diligent research before you rent any apartments under Connor Group. They rip you off! The property management, they can t keep they promises. When you come to them with problems, they said they will give you call back with the result. They never did. It happened many many times. I am not the only one. Many tenants have had same problems. The front door was unable to shut properly. Again, maintenance guy had to fix it in three different occasions. The fans were old. They made loud noise, we had to replace with our own after several attempts to get them fixed but got ignored by property manager. This place is not livable. You can call me a complainer but for the price they charged, I expected the place as they advertised!! Cars drives fast over 30mph. Dog poops are everywhere. The phone reception horrible. You will see alot of people outside to make phone calls. I use att HTC Inspire 4g. Only got 1 bar!!

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT MOVING HERE
It's terrible. Gave me my apartment with dirty carpets, broken windows, a giant water leak in my closet, a broken back door. All of this they said would be fixed and replaced by the time i moved it, it was not. First day I moved in the handle broke off the shower... and in the 12 months it broke off so much that i just got over it and used a screw driver to turn on my water. This place is discusting, over priced, and the managment is pushy. They bothered me EVERYDAY for months trying to get me to renew my lease. Even after i signed the paperwork telling them NO they STILL bothered me about it. Monthly water bills are outrageous! Just me and my son living there and the water bills were 50-80 dollars per month. Terrible, don't do it.

Look elsewhere !
The Connor Group(owners of the apartments)will literally turn you upside down until all your money falls out of your pockets then throw you to the side and count it on the way to their luxury cars !!!! Extras you will pay-water bill $80-100 per month (Connor group also owns/operates their own water/billing company-Heartland Regional Power), you "have" to carry cable $100.00 plus (even if you don't own a tv), if you are just 1 day late on your rent $100.00 late fee, and then when you move out they won't even allow you to do the walk through-and don't even think about getting your deposit back-look elsewhere !!!! google the connor group then click on the webcast earnings-unbelievable !!!! Also the positive reviews are more than likely in lieu of gift cards.....

DECEIVING...
It's odd that these apartments had 32% rating until I notified management of their terrible reviews. It seems like everyone has come out of the woodworks to give a "positive" rating. Trust me, it is NOT a positive place. I do not have enough room to tell everything that happened, just be careful if you move here. There are so many other apartments that are so much nicer than these.

I have enjoyed my stay at the Resdiences at Starwood. Quiet. Its nice not having anyone below me but my garage and no one above me. I never hear my neighbors which is wonderfull. Staff is always friendly and wiling to help. Only odd thing is them forcing you to use Time Warner for internet and cable, which I refused since I was under contract with Directv/AT&T. Also wish the pool was larger.
