Since I travel to Frisco for business, I only stay at the Residences of Starwood a few days a month. I have only been a resident since November 13, 2014 so I am not in a position yet to comment on many of the items others have commented on in this review. However, I can say that on my first stay in my unit, the handle of the microwave cracked and when I returned two weeks later, Will came to install a new microwave. Also my experience with Gloria, in the leasing office, has been exceptional. When looking for an apartment to lease, Gloria was willing to show me several units more than once. She worked long distance with me via fax and internet, helping me get my paperwork in order. She is very professional, and reliable.

Usually, when you read a review you hear something like the staff are mean, rude and I could just go on for days, but actually the resident sets the mood. I can except that you might have a bad day, moment with your spouse or partner, and lets not forget about the kids forgetting to take the dogs out after pleading with you they will take care of them if you get them, so before anyone decides to write a review don't do it out of anger and frustration. I also see that people say the areas are bad, well why are you still sticking around must not be that bad. The Residence at Starwood is a GREAT transition location if your looking at residing in the Frisco area, because it's close the best rated schools, night life and shopping centers. So I decided to put my take on the Residences at Starwood: Lets start with the staff, since they are usually the first to greet you when walking through are Families door. Chrystal the Manger is truly down to earth friendly always has a smile on her face, and is very quick to stop what she is doing to take the time to meet your needs. Then there is Tes, spunky always willing to go that extra mile to help the residence out with any matter and maintenance issues are always handled with urgency. Last but not least Gloria, just like Tes, she is also spunky and full of flare and stops what she is doing to help and I say the over all gang is a true 10. The area is very quiet and when you do see your neighbors they are always friendly, so it feels like your own little island of Paradise. Like any other place lets talk pets, don't blame the Staff for poop being on the ground blame those who are not doing there part: take a picture turn them in, starts with us, the staff can't be outside 24/7, so I would say it's about the same, but I can tell you I have seen worse. As I was retiring from the Military the Staff at Starwood; I would say shared every step of my retirement out with me and I thank them for that. I would recommend the Residences at Starwood to everyone in Transition and looking for there own oasis, if that is the case don't unpack because your dreams await you.

We moved here from Miami Florida and after searching a lot of apartments in the Frisco.Plano area the only person kept us well informed and went out of her way to make our move smooth was GLORIA from Residence at Starwood. She even took the time to take pics and videos for us in that particular apartment that we were moving in.The day we moved after a 3 day drive from Miami without physically looking at the apartment we had all our trust in Gloria and I had to say she kept her word and beyond as promised. The apartment was spanking clean with all new applinces. Overall Staff is always helpful and cooperative with us with any need we have. We enjoy the living space, as well as, the fitness center and the pool. It is also a nice place to walk for exercise. Buildings kept neat, well landscaped Thanks again Gloria you are the best Ali

The manager & leasing agent who has helped me, Gloria, have been very friendly & helpful from the beginning & helped to make the move in process very easy. They respond to all questions & requests in a timely manner & are happy to give you all info needed. The apartment community is very quiet, well maintained & really feels like a "home" instead of just an apartment. One of the main things I like about this place is that it's a smaller apartment community so there's not a lot of traffic with cars & people coming in & out of the complex. It's nestled just far back enough on Lebanon for it to be quiet & not smack in the middle of everything, but it's also within walking distance to just about anything you could want or need to do in the area so it's a very convenient location. In my opinion, this place has it all & I'm very content

So far so good, the staff is great. The maintenance people are okay, not great not horrible. My only issues have been the make ready of the apartment, paint over-spray everywhere! Other issue is paying 89.99 for basic cable and internet through TWC, if you want Digital and DVR and 30 mbps the be prepared to pay another $50 or better a month. So for a package that cost 89.99 through TWC cost you between $140-160. Electric bills not all that high; water, garbage and sewer are a little high in price.

I seriously cannot tell you how much I love living in this community. My apartment is absolutely adorable. It is unlike most apartments I have seen, you know the ones, 4 walls and a ceiling. This one has a lot of charm with arched doorways, wood burning fireplaces and vaulted ceilings. It has it's own entry way so it feels more like a town home instead of an apartment. The rent is comparable for this area (Frisco is a pricey area, but the convenience is bar none), and the office staff drop what they are doing to assist in anyway they can. The only noises I hear are garage doors going up and down which to me is not a hassle. You NEVER hear the people to the side of you or beneath you. Honestly this is by far one of the nicest places in the area. Disclaimer: I have not been compensated in any way for this review. This is my personal opinion.

I've lived on property for a number of years and have witnessed several ups and downs along the way; fortunately, however, the office staff has turned over in recent months. The new property manager and leasing agent(s) are all very welcoming, attentive and eager to meet the needs of both new and returning clients. Maintenance requests are responded to promptly. Leasing rates are incredibly competitive for the area. People that complain about fees have clearly never lived in an apartment. If you're late on rent, you will pay a late fee. If you destroy an apartment, you will pay to fix it. It's simple - hold up your part of the legally binding agreement you signed.

The complex has potential, however management refuses to make an effort. Apartments are falling apart and unless you're a fan of mold or rotting wood I'd advise you to look elsewhere. Maintenance requests are either never fully completed or not completed at all. If you try to call the front office and inform them that you are a current tenant, they will quickly dismiss you and assure you that they will call you back within a reasonable time frame, but never do. The new manager is extremely rude and condescending. You have the option of either dirt or rocks for landscaping, talk about scenery. Your rent will increase over time and you will be required to pay ever increasing fees. By the way, the management team sent out a notice asking tenants to post positive online reviews in exchange for a $25 gift card, but then forgot to send out the said gift cards.

I have lived here for 2 years. They have the worse staff I have ever dealt with. They charge you extra fees all the time. They have a outrageous cable and Internet package which is a rip off. They never answer the phone. They never fix anything in your apartment. The property managers never return calls.

I lived in this complex for three years, the quality/upkeep has went down drastically since my original move in date. I moved due to the quality and age of the interior and exterior of this complex, as well as the presence of more updated apartments in the area at the same price. In addition to the monthly charges charged by the apartment complex ($28 a month for trash, which requires you to take your trash to the dumpster, $25 a month for sewer and $35 a month for water... This does not include the cable bill of $99 a month which you're required to have through the apartments). When paying a deposit at this comlex keep in mind the items below in which I was charged for (keep in mind not one item was left in the apartment neither did I have any children or animals that would have caused any perm damage or dirty carpet). Apartment Cleaning Fee - $65 Refridge Cleaning - $50 Microwave Cleaning - $50 Stove Cleaning - $50 Carpet Dirty In Living Room (Keep in mind I'm a single guy with no children in the apt ) - $65 Living room walls double paint oil (I have no idea what this means since I never paited the apartment) - $30.00 Patch Holes where TV was mounted on the wall - $75 Cabinet Updates - $50 Due to the lackluster management as well as the plethora of newer apartments in the area I would not recommend this complex. Also, please note the residents were enticed with gift cards to write reviews for the complex (take that into consideration when reviewing the positive comments logged around the same time) I hope this helps someone.

We have lived here for 4 months now and love it. I love the layout of my apartment, all of my windows, and my view is so pretty. Neighbors are friendly and I have never heard any noise from other apartments. It's just a quiet and quaint complex. Our office staff are always helpful and friendly and we are so glad we moved here. We are happy and content.

I have lived here for a month now. I checked out all of the other similar apartment complexes in the Frisco area and this is the best for the money. Pros: - I really like the layout and design of the complex, it is small and cozy, it was designed to be more like small homes than apartments, it has private entrances and everything. The landscaping is nice and it has mature trees all around. - The people that live here are very friendly, but no nosey neighbors. - I have never heard a neighbor through the walls once, which is nice! - The staff is nice and work hard to help you! - Abundant parking. I have never had trouble getting a parking spot and chose not to get a reserved/paid, covered parking spot because of that. The only cons are: - The pet deposit is ridiculously high ($500 - more than the twice the actual rent deposit for the apartment). - You are forced to have cable and internet through Time Warner, for $100 extra per month, even if you don't want it. And Time Warner is horrible with customer service; it took three weeks for me to get service turned on and get my equipment, which they (TWC) charge extra for. I would recommend living here to a friend!

We moved her in 2010 after selling our hm. Planned on staying for 12 months but still here. To me rent is a little high. Apt are dated inside depending upon if you have one that has been upgraded with a nice looking "hardwood: floor. The carpet is typical apartment carpet and is worn out after 6 months. The staff is very attentive to your needs and requests. Bob in maintenance is outstanding. He can build or fix almost anything.

This a complex you have to be a part of! First off, their office staff is incredibly courteous. They have stayed after hours, offered a thorough and honest inspections of the units as well as made all things happen in one day. Krystal is a professional young woman who has always gone the extra mile for my family. The amenities are sparkling and conviently located. The hours are basically around the clock making it a breeze to enjoy and relax in your new home. It's not like other places where they open and close in coordinance with your work schedule so by the time you get home you're unfortunately out of luck. There are obvious posted security and mph through the complez making it completely safe for my two young boys to play outside. Parking is everywhere and entrances and exits are easily manuvered. The units themselves have had a lot of love put in them and have been amazingly remodeled. The walls are thick as to not disturb one another while living a normal life. The layouts are such that you do not feel constantly surrounded by neighbors and have adequate privacy. All around my family plans to be here for several years. I would recommend this complex to anyone and everyone looking for an easy transition to a fantastic new home!

I have lived here 11 years and would live here another 11 years if I didn't have to move. This feels like a house to me. Current staff and maintenance are awesome. The upgrades are beautiful and homey. Neighbors are considerate and I have never had a problem with them. If you want apartment living with the feel of a home, this is the one to pick.

I have been a residence at Residence at Starwood for a year. First off, they lied about residence paying $150 for the cable package, water & sewer, trash & pest control. When I received my first bill, it averaged $190. The water bill is based off the entire building's usage, not your own. So you are paying for the person(s) who has maybe 4 people in their apt. You are also stuck with Time Warner cable and it's basic cable & internet ($95.00). My apt did not feel clean at move-in. I had to clean my carpet before I moved in to feel comfortable. The entire apt is a living BIRD CAGE. Birds are everywhere, as well as your patio. Which makes this very unbearable to sit on your tiny patio with bird poop everywhere (I mean everywhere)! People are not cleaning up after their pets as well. There are always new people working in the Residence office and also a new manager. The new manager is inconsiderate and at the time of move-out, will treat residence like a herd of cattle. The will harass you on a weekly basis until you tell them if you are moving or staying. Boy, if you tell them you are moving- you better turn in your 60 day notice! She will NOT make any concessions for you if you need to stay a few days longer. The apt is not worth the money and especially the HIGH increase.

Hi. I have lived here at Residences at Starwood for only a month, but I have no complaints so far. Everything has been good. Our apartment is nice, office staff is friendly, and our neighbors seem nice and courteous. I haven't used the pool or workout room so I can't truly speak on those but I have no reason to believe they wouldnt be nice as well. People like to nitpick and complain but to each their own I suppose, but we are completely satisfied thus far.

I am a current resident of Starwood and I love everything about it. It is convenient to everything. Being so close to the Dallas North Tollway, anything that is not close is easy to get to on the tollway. There is also plenty of entertainment in the area. Of course, the pool and workout room are excellent. My wife and I currently live in a one-bedroom, one bath, which is perfect for us until I can retire.

I am a current resident of this apartment complex. I actually found this apartment when I was visiting Dallas on business, and only had a few hours until my flight was ready to depart. I decided to stop by and was greeted by Sunshine, a leasing Agent. She was absolutely warm and friendly. This first greeting caused me to have an open mind about the complex, as I had visited 4 other apartment complexes on that day and was immediately turned off by the staff. Sunshine took me to a 2 bedroom 2 bath and I immediately fell in love with the lay out of the space. I absolutely love the private entry, whereby my stairs are directly located in my apartment and not on the outside. I love the fact that my mailing address does not require an apartment number, giving the feel that I am located in house. If any repairs are necessary, maintenance addresses them in a timely manner. Additionally, since my 10 months of being here, I have NEVER seen one bug inside of my apartment (this I love). Now, the only negative I can think of, is the slow moving entrance gate, which can cause a car or two to be backed up. Besides this, I am happy where I reside and have renewed my lease for another year. I hope this helps if anyone is thinking of moving in.

The location is great, near the tollway and convenient to shopping, yet still quiet. I have enjoyed living here and plan to stay as long as the cost for rent remains reasonable. The units are older, but well maintained with added character that I like. Being such a small complex, it seems quieter than larger apartment complexes I've lived in and maintenance is generally very quick whenever a problem is reported. I would and have recommended these apartments to friends and am happy living here.

Moved into the apartment in late 2012. Gated and near freeway which were requirements. Units are starting to show age internally but Starwood appears to be in the process of upgrading. Facility is fairly quiet and the contiguous apartment noise is dependent on who your neighbors are at the moment. Overall, physical attributes are average. What got extra stars on my rating are the staff. I have found them to be pleasant and responsive in the front office. The maintenance requests have been addressed quickly and efficiently by the maintenance staff. The maintenance guys will also tell you what is wrong and will explain the fix which I like.

I've rented here since May. Overall my experience has been positive. I love the location. I looked at several apartments in Frisco, Mckinney and The Colony, but chose this one. The complex has a European look to it, with the white stone and the gables. I had one maintenance issue with no hot water, but maintenacne fixed it the same day. The staff was upfront about the Time Warner cable billing being part of the utility billing, so no big deal. My electric bill for the summer was always less than $50 for the month. My neighbors are friendly, and though every apartment seems to have dogs and cats, I don't hear any of them in my apartment. I like that they have sprinklers and smoke alarms in the apartment and check them. I have a fireplace. I was concerned the apartment had no ice removal process, until I drove on the roads and realized Texas has no ice removal process. They just wait a couple of days and let it melt. Overall I like Texas and this apartment.
