This is a nice place to live. It's near restaurants and department stores also grocery stores. The ladies that work in the office are very friendly and caring willing to help whatever is going on. Ashton Creek as excellent maintenance men. Robert sometimes they go out of there way to help me just to make me safe living here. Since I'm disabled it's nice living here just to know that Robert has my back.

My experience has been ok. There are things that can be improved in and around the complex. I know that the maintenance guy named Robert is always pleasant and seems to do his job to the best of his ability. I see a variety of guys on the property but I always speak with Rob if I see him on the grounds.

Poor quality. Not worth the money. The apartment is old, run down, and filthy. I do not recommend to anyone. I am extremely sorry that I rented here. I was not given the opportunity to see the apartment before renting.

Absolutely Disgusted – to Prospective Renters

My family and I were in a difficult situation, relocating from New Jersey to Virginia with our new house still under construction. Ashton Creek Apartments seemed like a convenient temporary solution, located just up the road from our future home. My sister kindly toured a unit for me via video call, and it appeared perfectly fine. However, this was the beginning of a nightmare. We later discovered that the unit shown was a model unit a classic bait and switch tactic. The stark contrast between the online presentation and reality is shocking. While the clubhouse and grounds appear meticulously maintained, the actual apartment units are in a severe state of disrepair. The wooden porches and walk-ups are visibly rotting and decaying, a clear sign of neglect and their was a leak in the porch covering and sheetrock and plaster had began to fall onto the rotten wooden porch.. Horrible sight to see. Upon moving in, we were horrified to find our assigned apartment was not only filthy but also a potential biohazard. The floors were covered in dirt and lint, the kitchen cabinets were disgusting, and the bathrooms had crud all over the floors, sinks, and tubs. The refrigerator shelving was broken. To make matters worse, the back deck was covered in animal excrement that had leaked down from the apartment above, creating an unbearable stench. This was clearly a health risk, and I seriously considered contacting the Chesterfield Board of Health. During our walk-through with the supervisor, she readily admitted that the complex had not undergone a full inspection in a long time. This explains why the front of the apartments might look passable, while the rear areas resemble something out of a horror movie. The supervisor offered no argument and promptly refunded some of my money, which only confirmed their awareness of the deplorable conditions. I am still contemplating legal action to recover the remainder of my losses. As I was leaving the complex for good, I spoke with another resident who confirmed my experience, stating that maintenance issues are rampant and incredibly slow to be resolved. He described the process of submitting a maintenance request as a nightmare. If you have any decent standards for living conditions, I implore you: do not even consider Ashton Creek Apartments. Save yourself the frustration, disgust, and potential health risks.

Beautiful, safe, quiet community. I’ve only been here since April 2025. No real complaints at all. Maintenance could be faster with responding to requests but overall, I’m happy with my decision to move here.

Our experience since moving here has not been good. When we moved in, we had a lot of maintenance issues. They were resolved but the AC issue is recurrent and apparently prevalent as maintenance is having 15 units a week with those issues? The ladies in the front office are very nice, but the community is not great. Lots of kids loitering in the streets, acting crazy. And the apartments themselves are kind of shabby. I should have just paid a couple hundred extra a month for a nicer place I guess.

OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS I FEEL THESE APARTMENTS HAVE GONE DOWN. THINGS ARE GETTING PATCHED UP FOR TEMPORARY ISSUES INSTEAD OF JUST FIXING IT FOR LONG TERM. PARKING IS OUT OF CONTROL VISITERS ARE NOT PARKING IN THE CORRECT SPOTS

Fantastic experience except for a lack of accessible sidewalks for mobility aides. Plenty of handicap parking available, but the spots aren't always near ramps. And most sidewalks lead to steps. Otherwise, it's a lovely place to live with a great staff!

The maintenence in this apartment building will not fix your things at any time and they will hold you in your lease agreement even though your applience or AC isn't working been asking for a month to have my AC repaired horrible service and managment team.

I love that whenever I put in a service request for Maintenance, they respond within a reasonable amount of time. I don’t have to wait for days and wonder when they are coming to complete the work order. They usually come the same day or if I complete it at night then the next morning. Pros: offers short term leases, lots of parking, The members of the community seem to be nice and polite for the most part. Pretty close to everything. Trash fairy is offered which makes it nice since the dumpster is always overflowing. Rooms aren't bad in size. Very easy to pay rent online. Cons: Maintenance isn't the best. The trash is always overfilled. Office staff seems to be understaffed. Walls and floors are very thin so even a child walking in the apartment above you can be heard walking and talking. I wasn't given a walk through prior to signing paperwork so I took over a apartment with no working ac and enough other issues. After only one week at apartment I had 2 separate packages stolen from a secure mail room located at the main office. No ceiling fans in the apartment so no ceiling lighting in living room or bedrooms. Overall it's not the worst apartments but not the best. I personally would not recommend. But if your in a rush or need a short term lease then this place will work.

I have lived in the Ashton Creek community for three years. Most concerns are met with a swift and friendly response. Every 3 months the maintenance team comes in to replace air filter, check smoke detector. Maintenance and office staff are reliable and professional always.

This is a beautiful Apartment Community and the apartments are spacious and lots of natural light from the windows. The office team are very kind and make you feel very comfortable.I lived in another apartment behind Ashton Creek for 22 years so this move was very stressful but everyone at Ashton Creek has been so kind to me that I'm feeling better already. Thank you! Job well done!

Had to get floor replaced because washing machine was making a grinding noise. First of all the entire apartment has uneven floors, very poorly built. I was told that my washing machine and dryer would be put back after the floor was done. Not so, called the office several times and no one was there. I have laundry to do and I refuse to pay to go to a laundromat. My washer and dryer has been on the balcony for 3 days now. I'm not a happy person. Been here 3 years and the customer service gets worse each year. Hopefully next year this time I won't be here. Think twice before you move here.

Nice area of Chester off but not far from more major roads. Limited walkability neighborhood-wise. Neighbors have been friendly. Appreciate the gym but wish they had a waterfountain. We like the tennis courts and look forward to using the pool in season.

I am not satisfied with the way things are handled around here.I was promised they was going to put new hand rails going down the steps.Said your apartment building was going to be one of the first ones to get new hand rails.This was last year,never got them.At the bottom of the wood rails the right side is very weak.They don't consider whose they put over top of you.I am 70 years old.I don't feel like they should put someone above me with small children, keeping a lot of noise and running all the time.I called the lady above me the other night and asked her could she please have her daughter to stop running so much.The child never walk she runs all the time.I shouldn't have to do that.People need to be considered that someone else lives in the building besides them.But some people just don't care.And this is not the first time I have said something about all the noise. And it stop for a little while and start right back up.My last time living where there is someone above me.I shouldn't have taken the apartment anyway, because I told them when I first came out here,I couldn't do a lot of steps, because I have had a knee replacement,back surgery and a triple bypass.And what they did,put me where I had to go down a lot of steps.Its very hard on me.If a place don't have an elevator in it I will never consider moving in Hopefully I will be moving as soon as my contract is up this time.Not pleased at all.

My experience at Ashton Creek is ok. But my apartment is small. I’m accustomed to more space n windows. I think the main doors can use an extra lock. Not to comfortable with just one lock. But the apartments are clean when you move in.
