I have lived at Legends on Taylor since 2012 and have been very satisfied with the management and how quickly they respond to a request. They are very courteous and friendly. I tell others all the time what a great place Legends is to live and recommend it often.

Great experience, great...
Great experience, great community! The rent is continuing to increase though making this place probably the most expensive apartment complex around. You can probably find the same great experience and community setting for a cheaper price somewhere else!

I have been staying at Legends at Taylor Lakes for almost 5 years. I had to move twice within Legends apartment complex from 2bdroom to 1, and again to 2 bedroom due to my personal reason. However, I never thought about moving out of Legends because of their wonderful location, beautiful facility, convenience of using swimming pool, BBQ grills, K-cup coffees all provided for free for residents at leasing office. Staffs always keep their professional attitude, and always willing to give a hand to residents on all issues I had. Especially Joe, a manager of Legends really takes care of residents' need and always fultill what I expected or requested. For whoever looking for an apartment in Montgomery, AL, this should be the first option!! Two Thums up for Legends at its staffs.

This place is terrible! Trash is everywhere and the staff is incompetent! The manager joe doesn't know what he's doing! This is what's allowed out here! They had one good maintenance guy out here but now he's gone! Probably because he was tired of their crap!

Loved these apartments
I have absolutely loved these apartments. I have lived in a 2/2 and a 1/1. The layout is very nice. Love the kitchen space and bathroom space. Looks really nice with dark countertops and black appliances. I have never had any issues with things not working. I did call once about some small bugs and they fixed it that day- also I called about my drains once and they fixed that the same day as well. The property manager and assistant manager are wonderful- always very polite, willing to help, and know my name. Overall I have loved this place and I am so sad to be leaving- I would be staying If I could! New job- new city. I would reccommend these apartments to anyone.

What's Everyone's Problem?
I keep seeing all these posts that seem way out of perspective. I moved here in mid-August and I've gotten maintenance service within the same day sometimes. I had a few little things that needed to be addressed and they were within 2 days. I recently had a request and it was same-day service. All I did was go into the office, tell them my problem (or even call to tell them), and they got it done ASAP. Go IN PERSON or pick up a phone; how hard is that? Yes, people don't clean up after their dogs, but that's NOT the management's fault! It's rude, lazy people who won't take 5 seconds to put their hand in a bag (of which plenty are provided and replenished quickly upon their running out), scoop up some poop, and throw the bag in a provided garbage can (which is cleaned out every day). The groundskeeper, Mr. Ernest, is very nice and does a good job as far as I can tell. I don't know what this person who posted 7/28/11 was thinking: I have ceiling fans in every room, carpet is very new and nice, glass cooktop (I guess that's what it's called), microwave, fridge, dishwasher, etc. ?? That kind of commentary befuddles me. The one thing I will agree on is the lighting around the complex. The light outside my door in the breezeway, I told them it was too dim and I felt unsafe. They changed it that day. As for the rest of the place, I think Montgomery in general lacks proper lighting. There isn't any down the back street to the place, there's none along the highway/turn in from the hwy, and not enough by the dog park-- in fact, I have to use a flashlight when I go out after dark. I've had a pretty good experience overall in just a few short months. I moved from a house with a backyard from another state, so I was dreading living in an apartment complex. Improvements could be made on some things, sure, that's normal. A lot of the "problems" I have are other people who leave food debris and charcoals and broken beer bottles lying around, which I'm afraid my dogs will get into and get sick from, and people who don't clean up after their pets, and cigarette butts. What do you expect from hundreds of random folks living in close quarters? It's certainly pretty clean, secure, and not ------ at all. It's in a very prominent area of town; I always feel very safe (single female); people are generally very friendly; and I suppose the rental price is pretty good bang for your buck. I've made some good neighbors. I really don't know what else people can expectr out of a large apartment complex. If you don't like it, pay more and move somewhere else! Or pay less and live in a trashy area!

Poor maintenance
Pros: Away from crowded city Secured gated community Outdoor Pool Gym Washer dryer in unit Pets allowed Property Manager is very good person I would recommend this place if they improve fixture quality and maintenance response Cons: - Poor maintenance (you have to followup many times personally to get the work done) - You can't create service requests online (there is facility on the web page but noone looks at that section) - You have to follow up many times with Lease consultant for getting lease documents completed. Looks like they are least concerned to get you signed up - Poor fixtures - No microwave - People with dogs do not cleanup after their dogs - No continuous walkways for jogging. I see many people jog on the road - no glass stovetop - no ceiling fans in bedrooms - Can't sit in patio as other people use their patios for smoking and there is lots of smoke in the patio area - They charge service fees for online payment even if you use checking account - No recycling bins - Many people leave garbage bags in the corridor - Old carpet

New to the Montgomery area!
I have looked at majority of the communities on the east side and found that "The Legends" has everything that best fits my needs! I love the fact how they aren't too far away from everything and also not on the busy end of Taylor rd. I have lived here now for 3 months and I haven't had any complaints thus far! The management teams seems really friendly and very helpful. Me moving here not knowing the area, they provided me with additional information about places to eat and things to do in the area. Hopefully, everything goes well here!

HOME-not apartment living
I have lived here since 2007 and there is no question about my choices when it comes time to renew my lease, not only is a professional staff, they become like family- always calling you by name without hesitation of memory, follow up so you want to join in on social events- normally i woulndn't go, but they made me want to and I know alot more of my neighbors now, too. The grounds are always maintained, it is just a place I love to call home! whether your stay in Montgomery is transitional or permanent- The Legends at Taylor Lakes is where you will want to be

Removed from the hub-bub of the city yet still close enough to get things done. Really cool staff and maintenance crew is always prompt. By far the nicest setup in Montgomery. Bathrooms are small but the closets and kitchen make up for it. Large bedrooms as well. Pool and clubhouse are resort-like and the gym is exactly what you need with cardio/dumb bells/lat machines...I got a great move in special too. If you can handle three miles past vaughn on taylor you will love this place!

Very Happy!
I have lived in several apartments throughout Montgomery, and I a finally feel safe and comfortable at The Legends. I love it there! Gated entrance makes me feel very safe. The staff there is wonderful! Always happy to help me with anything. My experience there has been wonderful from being shown the apartment, signing my lease, and moving in!

Stay Away
Management is incompentent and some of their practices are downright fraudulent, particularly with some of the clauses in their rental contract. Be sure to carefully read the contract before signing, or prepare to get screwed, particularly when you need to move, break lease, etc. They refuse to assist with any issue, particularly if you need to move due to job change, unemployment, family emergency, etc. The place is a complete rip-off.

not as good as it use to be
I have lived in legends for the past 6 months. they have lowered the lease rates and deposits significantly which has drawn in less than adequate tenants. my rent was $920 for a two bedroom but now the price has been lowered to $770 with $150 deposit. now groups of people will congregate in the parking lot listening to loud music blairing out of their flashy vehicles. the apartment has increased police presence on the apartment property due to some vehicles being broken into. I have lived in several different apartments in montogmery and the legends was the best by far, but now its going in the same directions as the rest of the apartments in montgomery. I will not renew my lease at this apartment because the tenants are going down hill.

YES
I would definitely recommend these apartments. They are worth the price. I used to live in some other apartments nearby..less than $100 a month difference, but those apartments, in comparison with The Legends, should have been around $300 a month less. The grounds are kept in perfect shape and maintenance responds promptly. Very quiet. Next to a nice residential neighborhood. Close to everything, but you feel like miles away! We got a good move-in special, so ask what they're offering. Gated-entry which has no technical quirks, and it's down all times of the day.

VERY NICE APARTMENTS
I have lived in this community for about 2 months. It is a very quiet community. This is a family oriented community and is also pet friendly. The 3 bedroom apartments with the sunroom feature are very large with an open kitchen and separate laundry area down the hall. The black appliances are nice. Management seems to be very professional. Maintenance has been very prompt. They have always responded and fixed any problems that i may have had within24 hours. The resort style pool is quite nice as well. I plan on making Legends at Taylor Lakes my home for a while. I definitely recommend this property.

The legends
I have lived at the legends for almost year now, since they opened. The exterior is very beautiful however i think they cut corners while installing many things in the inside. I personally think that the rent is to high for what it provides. However i am a young woman living by myself and i feel safe. The only thing i would change in terms of safety is some interior locks and also the option of having an alarm system. Also, it's hard to get the maintence guy to come out. I had to constantly call to finally get him to come and fix what i needed. The people in the office are friendly and helpful. The pool area is beautiful. One thing that is not so great is they say you have a 24-7 computer area but they always lock it after 5 so thats a fib. Overall like i said its pretty good but not worth the rent.
