Living here is not worth your sanity...
Poor lighting (which creates questionable safety), horrible apartment manager, tenants who party continuously. Last night police officers where patrolling the complex look for 2 men who were armed. They told my wife to go indoors and not to come out until morning. UN-Luckily for us, the parking gate was open all night long so that everyone had access to our building. Very disappointing. The gate is always broken. Don't try complaining about anything to the manager. You will get blown off and nothing will change. Trust me, I've tried repeatedly.

Not Recommended
I am very unhappy with this apartment's management. The office manager is rude and unprofessional. Myself and many of my neighbors have gathered to discuss her actions. I am happy to know that I am not the only person being treated poorly on a regular basis. I am sorry to report that although we have tried to work with her repeatedly, nothing gets resolved. The grounds are deplorable. There is glass near the round-about where I walk my dogs. Every day I have to watch where they walk. The west side of the complex isn't lit at all. It borders a questionable neighborhood. When I walk my dogs, I'm fearful for mine and their safety. Frequently, there have been arrests on that street and once there was a man with a gun. I suspect that if the street were better lit, the "activity" would decrease. Oh, and for the sake of my neighbors, I will report that if you rent or borrow a car (because your's is broken, wrecked, etc...) it will be towed. They do not work with you on the issue and the costs are unbelievable.

NOT RECOMMENDED
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. IT WAS HARD TO GET THINGS REPAIRED IN MY APARTMENT OR ON THE GROUNDS. EVERY MORNING THERE WOULD BE BEER CANS AND BROKEN BOTTLES ALL OVER THE GROUND. IT WOULD TAKE DAYS AND SOMETIMES EVEN WEEKS. THERE WERE ALWAYS VAGRANTS SLEEPING ON THE PREMISES USUALLY BOTHERING PEOPLE. SEVERAL TIMES THERE WERE BUMS GETTING PAST SECURITY DOORS AND WANDERING IN THE BUILDING. WHEN I WOULD ASK STAFF TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE THEY BLEW ME OFF. SO MY LEASE RAN OUT AND I GOT THE HELL OUT OF THERE ASAP.

Great location.
We have had many positive experiences at Retreat at the Park. The management and maintenance staff is quick to respond to requests and very helpful & accommodating. The location is also one of the best in Denver. You are close to Downtown, several highways, and right across the street from City Park. If you don't take advantage of those opportunities, then your experience might be different, but ours has been very favorable.

potential renter lost...
first of all, thank you for writing these reviews. i have visited the rental office several times, shopping for 3 bedroom apartments. when i was in the office, i spoke with the young man and melissa; they were very helpful and kind. as i was sitting with melissa discussing availability, etc... i caught the conversation taking place behind me. it was a woman (who worked there), probably in her 40's. she was talking with a tenant about some issues the tenant had. she was so angry and insulting to this person. the person remained calm, but she did not. the person was trying to resolve some problems with their apartment maintenance. through the conversation i heard them say that their appliance had been broken for weeks and nobody had come to repair it. they were also discussing the noise ordinance. her basic reply to his concerns was that it wasn't a priority and that he should look at fixing the problems himself. it's unfortunate for retreat at the park, because after listening to that conversation and then reading these reviews, i will never rent at that property. it's clear that the woman is the problem that most of these tenants have. if the property owners were smart, they would fire her immediately. perhaps people would actually renew their leases that way.

Horrible & Completely Unprofessional Management - All the way up to the property owners
Since my move in date, in May '08 I have filed over 14 noise complaints, one of them with the Denver PD as the Retreat at the Park after hours service didn't seem to solve the problem. The management was notified over and over about the noise issues, however they seemed to believe that it wasn't that big of an issue and that I (the tenant) should realize that was was in a multiple dwelling unit and "just deal with it". Please keep in mind that this noise was not just foot steps, but loud music and base from over 4 apartments surrounding us. The last time I contacted management I was treated like a 3rd rate citizen and blown off. There also has been multiple book keeping errors on their part, which we received warning letters of eviction and delinquency (for low amounts such as $3). Each of these letters we called the management and they decided that even though it was their error, we were the"scum" and they didn't have time to deal with the problem they caused by their billing error. I have had numerous altercations with management verbally, I am a professional and handled it that way...however; the management at the retreat at the park were vicious, vindictive and ultimately rude and ended up hanging up the phone with out resolving the problem, leaving me wondering what the next steps were. So the next steps, I have contacted the apartment owners, the apartment associations (national and state), my lawyer, and the BBB in which we are still working on a solution to us leaving the apartment due to horrible living conditions and a violation of duties and contract by the apartment managers. To date the only response we have had is from the BBB, the other associations seem to deem this as business as usual. Lastly, please do not rent here as you will regret it.

One of the worst apartments I have ever lived in.
If you want to be treated poorly by the staff and management than this is your place. The grounds rarely got cleaned and things would get broken and were never repaired. There is a street on the west side of the complex that wasnt lit up and there was always some kind of crap going on at the adjacent apartments.

beware of a completely inflexible management
my wife and i needed a place to stay for a few months while finding a house- we moved from NYC. the management at retreat at the park is completely unhelpful and unreasonable and has caused us many headaches. if rent is 1 day late (regardless of whether your out of town...or any other reason) you get hit with a late fee. our rent was increased and we accidently paid $100 less than we should have, and then despite us being away the management filed an eviction notice which then we had to pay (over $150). they require a 60-day notice before leaving (even if you're on a month to month lease), and after we entered contract on a house on the 2nd of the month i asked them if we could leave 58 days later....nope. so we're paying another half's month rent. have lived in many apartment buildings and never had to deal with such inflexibility. it's their right- but they take it to a level of ridiculousness. i could never recommend this place to anyone after what we've been through. dont rent here if you have any other options...it's just not worth the nice parking.

Don't rent here..
I recently moved out of this place, and now is the only time I dare comment on the hell that I went through. The head manager is SO vindictive and MEAN to the tenants, that I constantly felt like I needed to watch my back. She was unethical, and you will be charged various misc fees throughout your lease. An ex-staff member for Retreat at the Park relayed to me that the staff makes commissions on finding and charging fees to residents. I had received three different fee notices equaling $1000 in the 6 months I lived there. I signed lease contracts and the staff found loopholes in the contracts 2 weeks after my move-in which resulted in large amounts of money owed. They were unwilling to work with me on the fees and began charging late fees when I couldn't produce the funds... on an error that was theirs!. Other residents have complained about the same treatment. The units are nice, the grounds are great, but I will never rent there again.

Miserable Management
The biggest issue here is the lack of professionalism in the management. We have had to call for noise infractions several times a week, with only occasional response. We have had several exchanges where the management has been, simply put, rude. They don't seem to want to take responsibility for their end of upholding the contract in terms of providing a reasonable living environment. The apartment itself has been fine, although the utilities are ridiculous -- more expensive than our 1800 sq foot house, and our apt is only 800 sq ft. -- and wasn't ready for us to move in as arranged. The garage elevator frequently decides not to function, and the main building elevator has lighting that occasionally works -- nothing like a late evening ride in a pitch dark elevator to make you feel safe.

Only a few negatives.
I will admit I have only lived here for a few months but felt compelled to write a quick review since I used apartmentratings.com quite a bit before making a decision about where to live downtown. The location is great with easy access to the restaraunts and bars on Colfax and a 1 block walk to City Park. The staff seems friendly and have been helpful when I have had questions or needed any repairs done. I live in the 'A' building and would recommend it over the main building - it seems more quiet and not as crammed. Parking has not been an issue at all and the complex is very pet friendly. There are some people who fail to clean up afer their pets but I have only seen this outside on the grassy areas - not inside the building. You occasionally hear dogs barking in the building but it is not as big of a deal as some other reviews have stated. I checked out Ballpark Lofts, Commons Park, The Manhattan and a few other complexes but chose Retreat because it was the best price for the square footage. My only complaint and warning for people contmeplating moving here is the price of utilities. I owned a 1600 square foot house before moving here and my electric bill was half the cost that it is here for an 1100 square foot apartment (not sure why). They also add $5 per month to your lease to pay for trash and they charge for water/sewage, which most complexes do not.

Tenant problem??
Sounds more like problems with tenants than management. Maybe you all need to confront those who are being such a pain.

Eh.....
After reading all the other reviews, I don't know if anyone "hit the nail on the head" so to speak. We only lived at the retreat for 3 months as temporary housing for a relocation to Denver. Overall, I am glad it was only 3 months, but the experience wasn't terrible. I found the office staff to be friendly, but not overly so. I don't think they knew my name as one of the other posters wrote, but we weren't there very long. They seemed to do a good job of handling our packages over the Christmas season and were responsive to our few needs. There was a problem twice of maintenance resealing the concrete floors between the garage and building 1 right around five o'clock when everyone is getting home from work. Very inconvenient. We are on a night schedule, so we didn't see many of our neighbors, but the ones we met were friendly and courteous. There was a lot of evidence of a few bad apples in the complex. Very regularly the lights in the elevators would be broken. They were always replaced the next business day, but sometimes that meant waiting all weekend. Someone once spilled sauce all over the hallway and left it for maintenance to clean up. There was also a couch once left in a garbage shoot. I still don't know how they got it in there. We never had a problem with noise from our immediate neighbors. The biggest problem was the construction of a 22 story apartment building right outside our window. During the day it was very noisy and at night there were bright lights shinning in our windows. We were not told about this, I guess the dangers of renting an apartment unseen, but it would have been nice to know. Be cautious if you are renting an apartment on the north side of building one or the west sides of buildings A and B. Overall not a terrible place to live. It has nice amenities, a new building, a secure parking ramp and proximity to downtown. It also is in what seems to be a nice neighborhood.

never again
I have never been motivated to buy house until I met the management at the Retreat at the Park. Living there was by far the most miserable experience I have ever had. "Looks can be deceiving." I will admit, I was very impressed when I moved in. The grounds looked nice, brand new building, ....how bad could it be, I asked myself. I promise you, I will spare you the details, but if you are looking to be miserable for the duration of you lease, look no further. The management fails to take care of requests in a timely fashion. I had a air conditioner that never cooled my apartment and $200 electric bills to go along with it the whole time I lived there. I feel sorry for the poor sap that lives in that apartment now. They are going to have a long summer. To the management, Since I know you read these posts and reply with fictitious email addresses, (you know who you are, and I am sure you know who I am) I strongly urge you to do your best to take care of your new tenants. You certainly didn't lift a finger to help me. Your 700 square foot apartment cost me more than my 3000 square foot house does in utilities, not to mention all of the water damage too. On the same note, Thank-you, for motivating me to buy a house and insure I will never have to deal with low quality people like you.

do not rent here
This place is a living hell. Where do I start.... first the garage has assigned spaces but there is no enforcement of this. The delay time on the gate is so long 2 and sometimes 3 cars can get in no problem. The lights were off in the overflow lot most of the year so that at night people had their cars vandalized/robbed and honestly it looked like the perfect place for a rape/crime. The security doors are often propped open by pet owners who walk their dogs and dont want to have to use their key cards. if you think the place is secure b/c there are security pass keys you are mistaken. its all about enforcement and user compliance.if you like dogs this is a great place. the animals may outnumber the humans and you can hear them barking all the time. there is dog crap all over the lawn and in the stair well and they pee on the grass too so its a nice burnt yellow in the summer. can you imagine what you are walking on? its not very sanitary. the walls are very thin. i can hear my neighbors on all 4 sides just talking normally and whatever they watch on TV i may as well switch to the same channel b/c i can hear it all. there is often dog excrement in the hall as well. i can hear the neighbors laundry and garbage disposal. its great. also not everyone throws out their trash. often times you will see bags of it in the hallway staining the carpet. sometimes the trash chutes get full at the end of the week so they are backed up and you cant put anything down them and then people leave their trash all over the trash room. also the moron that designed the trash chute made it small enough that you cant fit a regular 13 gal trash bag down the chute. so as a result you will see trash bags everywhere but in the chute. if your apartment is near one of these be ready for the smell.the cleaning staff and maintenance crew are often hanging out in the garage sitting on chairs doing nothing. clear sign of management issues. there are 3 major construction projects going on next door and across the street so it is very dusty here and noisy. it starts early in the morning and sometimes they work on weekend mornings. the fire alarms go off every now and then which is also a real treat. and the staff here is --------. they are nice, but are idiots and totally ineffective. if you have a problem, what ever they do results to nothing. also the maintenance crew comes into your unit unannounced quite frequently to check the filters/water heater/fire alarms all at different times. you'd think they'd make one coordinated visit but they dont. i think they are perverts hoping to catch you in the shower or something. its completely unnecessary and inappropriate to enter your unit this many times and there probably are other occasions they just dont leave notes for. it borders on illegal. you also have to pay for water here unlike other rental apts, and the pool is full of loud people, and if you have kids, some of the residents are exhibitionists so beware. the gym is very tiny and you will ahve to wait to use a treadmill. the garage under the apt bldg is filthy. your car will within days have a layer of dirt on it. there is a good 1/4 inch of it on the garage floor that they dont bother to sweep. you are better off parking on the street. its cleaner and safer. Just about every appliance in my unit has been broken at least once.....dishwasher, garbage disposal, ice maker and dryer. believe me the crap they used to build this place will crumble in a few years and the ------ maintenance crew will make it happen faster. There was standing water in the underground hallway to the garage with candy machines and heaters that was not drained for days. ever hear that water is a good conductor of electricity?? maybe that should ahve been cleaned up and at the very least the power shut off. well when morons run a place you will end up with law suits. its just a matter of time.

What is not to like?
I moved to Retreat at the Park when it was first opening. I have loved it ever since. I do not plan on leaving until I can afford a house. Retreat had everything I was looking for, location, pool, parking, and nice people. There are always those who do not take the time to get to know their neighbors, and enjoy life and that is a shame. With all the amenities and being so lcose to the park it is a great place to live espcially with a dog. I would recommend Retreat at the park to any of my friends.

Complete nightmare
At first glimpse this was the apartment of my dreams, cement floors, exposed duct work and a fabulous location. Ah well that all went to hell upon moving in. Our dryer was broken along with our garbage disposal. No one had even lived in our apartment prior to moving in. It took an entire week before the dryer had been fixed. There was a hole in the wall behind our front door that to this day has not been fixed. There was a condo being built across the alley from our balcony which meant constant construction that started promptly at 6:30 am each morning. Our windows and balcony were constantly filled with dirt and debris. After the construction was complete 9 months later the assisted living facility started renovations..so another construction nightmare. On top of that there is constant construction with the luxury condos being built feet from our building. There is NEVER adequate parking in the garages. They leased out 12 spots to the damn condo that was built so we lost 12 spaces in the visitor garage. It took 9 months before my name was in any of the call boxes (this was with constant reminding to the leasing office to have it taken care of). All parcels are automatically delivered to the leasing office. They do not keep a count of the packages they sign for, so even if the carrier says it delivered it and the office cannot locate it, they assume no responsibility for it. They won't even help in getting the issue resolved. All the leasing manager says is "I don't know what you expect me to do about it." What kind of reply is that. You're the leasing manager, take care of it! The pool was one of the selling points when we moved in. It wasn't completed upon moving in but that was what I really wanted in an apartment. An nice relaxing place to hang out at during the summer. Ah well if you enjoy sucking in second hand smoke or getting in water that is infested with beer then you'd love this pool. Basically the pool on the weekends is a college dorm. The leasing office thought it would be "cool" to get a keg and let it be open for all residents to consume. Well that would be great if we didn't have kids that turned 21 yesterday at the pool. Last time I checked you don't play beer pong in the pool, or smoke a cigarette while taking a swim. The management claims they are monitoring the pool but, that is a complete load of ----. I came out on an early Friday afternoon to just lay out, listen to my ipod and get a tan. But as I laid there I had some obnoxious dudes playing catch with a tennis ball in the pool. Well that would be all fine and dandy if the kid with the inability to catch a ball wasn't standing 3 feet in front of me, splashing water onto me each time he decided to let the ball pass him. This apartment could be great. The inside of my apartment is generally great. The location is also great...if the management was taken out and a new set of people were placed, then maybe it could be better. This place needs to stop renting to spoiled kids whose parents are paying for their rent. How do they afford rent when none of them seem to work? Go someplace else that will actually care about their residents. **OH one last thing, if you want to have a nice maintain area outside your window and balcony, do not rent anything in building A or B....they don't keep it up like the main building where the leasing office resides.

You've got to be kidding!
Only move here if you want your packages to be held hostage, lost or otherwise unaccounted for. Management will sign for them, loose them, and then never take responsibility for them. The grounds are disgusting. The complex allows residents to have dogs but fails to maintain the property appropriately. If they are going to allow pets then they need to budget for a dog waste clean up service. Management is condescending, rude, unresponsive and fails to acknowledge problems with the property. On the weekend the pool area becomes a frat party. The pool area is rarely cleaned. this makes for a pretty disgusting area. The overall cleanliness leaves much to be desired. This is a very expensive place to live so don't move here if you are looking for a high end apartment that is well maintained with responsive staff. You will be left wanting...

Only two blocks from Colfax!!!!!
That should have been my first clue. Appropriately enough, I just decided to sublet my one bedroom apartment to 6 bums off Colfax for $100.00 per month. It was going to be $200.00 but I didn't feel comfortable overcharging them. I also told them to feel free to have as many parties, make as much noise as desired, and NOT to keep the carpet clean since I am going to be charged for it regardless of the condition. Last but not least, they are welcome to shi* on the front lawn, in the elevators, and in the pool or wherever they feel necessary since it is perfectly acceptable for the pets to do it.!

Truly a retreat at the park
I just moved in and I just happened to read some of the reviews on this property today. At first I didnt understand why people would say all kinds of negative things about this beautiful property, but then I realized back when I was younger and immature, I used to bad mouth my previous apartment management as well. My apartment has been so quiet since i moved in. The residents are all so friendly, mostly young business professionals. There is a constuction going on by me but you can barely here it and I am a light sleeper, so I guess the building is very well built and very well insulated. I love the park, my son who's 11yo loves it as well. I lived from one downtown community to another and this is by far the best property I have ever lived in especially when you are a single parent trying to race a child in the city. Totally different type of residents, I have been so far happy with the maintenance team and the office team is just so friendly, and they've been consistent from the day I first visited the property. Maybe this property was previously managed by a different manager before I moved in??? Because... Truly this is a retreat at the park

Gone downhill
We moved in during the spring of 2006. The building we were in was extremely quiet, never heard a neighbor, never had an issue. Parking was more than adequate. Our neighbors were young professionals who were friendly, courteous, and mature. When the new building was completed, the problems flowed non stop. Parking was a nightmare, residents drove like maniacs through the parking garage, and were rude and inconsiderate. The pool was month's late in opening, and was plagued by numerous problems, then "inhabited" by partying, drunk, morons. In spite of management's attempts to keep residents from bringing glass to the pool, it happened over and over. The pool ended up being drained because of broken glass. Dogs are everywhere. And of course, along with dogs come lots of dog doodles. In the parking garage, in the elevators, in the hallways. Fortunately, management does clean it up in the buildings, and it got better after the installation of the doggie clean up stations. For the most part, our stay at the Retreat was good until the new building opened. Many of the residents are young, partying, immature, and inconsiderate of others, making the apartments not worth the high rents paid. I don't know whether any other apartments in the city are better. Overall it was ok, but we were happy to move out.

It's a great place... for LIARS and THIEVES!
The location is nice. The 6:30am construction is terrible--forget about opening your windows in one of the cities with the most beautiful climates. Your car is guaranteed to be filled with dust. Paper thin walls allow you to hear the romance of every relationship. if anyone is wearing hard-soled shoes in the echoey halls, you are guaranteed to hear it in your bedroom--the clickity clack actually woke me up on several occasions and i can usually sleep through anything. You are bound to step in dog ---- at least once. If you get packages sent to the office, you would never know because you will never get a notice unless you visit the office and continuously check. My building was very very unfriendly, but i hear the building with the pool is better about that. If you live on the first or second floors you will definitely be lugging your groceries down a few flights of steps and through the never-ending halls since the parking is filled at all times of the day. The management staff are complete liars. The maintenance will enter your apt frequently and leave you a notice AFTER they have entered (i dont think this is even legal). Last but certainly not least: PROTECT YOURSELVES and take all precaution before moving out!!!! i had been screwed at a previous apartment but never this badly. we received a bill for almost 2000 dollars for carpet replacement--we were NEVER home, never had parties, and never even hung out in the living room, yet are being charged with full carpet replacement! How do we prove that it was clean because although i have pictures, with the photo editing, how will those really prove anything?? it's soo frustrating, especially if the carpet was really replaced. And we even begged for someone to do a walk through with us to make sure we took all precautions. this is absolutely unbelievable. NEVER EVER rent from Retreat to HELL apartments!!!

Best to look elsewhere
Parking ----- Parking is adequate. There were issues when I first moved in with people filling up the underground lot under building one, and then overparking, parking behind other cars, in front of the mailroom, etc. It only took a couple weeks of complaints from many of the residents for management to propose marked parking. This has worked well, minimizing these issues. However, the doors to the parking deck have experienced issues in the past month, staying open for several days at a time while being checked and repaired. They are now fixed, and seem to be okay. The 'private' drive behind the building is very much not private. While the building itself has no direct blame here, this private drive is right next to construction. The trucks from it are constantly blocking the majority of the drive, forcing residents to try slipping around them or blocking traffic in both ways as vehicles try to pull in and out of their homes. I do not know if any complaint from the company that runs Retreat would help, but it would certainly be nice to have them issue a statement regarding that in their monthly newsletter. Noise ----- We can hear our neighbors quite often through bedroom and living room walls, but we do have fairly quiet neighbors, and we don't make much noise. I've heard other people complain about noise elsewhere in the building, but we've had no real problems with people. However! Our heating/cooling is extremely loud, particularly when even remotely near the ceiling panel that houses it. We also happen to live on the side where the construction is. Argh. It's horribly loud, and as other reviewers have said, starts up at a wonderful 8:00 AM even on weekends. Sleep in with your windows open to enjoy the night air? Not happening. We also live right over the garage doors for the underground lot. We pay the same as the other tenants with the same layout of apartment, but we have to deal with the extremely loud beep and grind of the doors opening and closing all day and NIGHT. Open the windows during the day? Not happening either. This doesn't help with the heating/cooling problems we've had in our unit, of which there have been several. Grounds ----- Grounds are neat and clean. Management installed dog waste containers with covers around the buildings to help with the mess peoples' pets make. This is a very pet friendly complex. Almost everyone seems to have a dog, several of them very large. To me, it seems decently well kept at all times. Nothing amazing though. Safety ----- I feel safe here. There is good lighting all around the area, and the surrounding neighborhoods are pretty quiet. Construction ----- I think they didn't finish the building the way they intended. It's a fairly new construct still, finished just last year. Things are still broken all the time though, but most of them are warranty items and things they needed to test out during certain seasons. The first floor has great stone floors. I really enjoy the low maintenance and nice look of them. Walls are very cheap though. My roommate lifted a chair to clean, and lightly bumped a padded side on the edge of a wall. The plaster cracked six feet up, following a poorly covered wiring panel in the dry wall! It took two weeks to get it fixed, and another several days to get it painted because the work order was mixed up somehow. Thin walls abound, as well, and ventilation systems carry immense amounts of noise. Also, bad planning as far as the trash rooms go. The chute is very tiny, and the dumpsters I have seen being taken out by the very loud garbage trucks are TINY. This is a big building with a lot of people. And more often than not, that trash room is packed. Not only is the chute backed up because it's so full, the room itself has taken on mounds of trash bags from residents trying to actually throw things out. Maintenance ----- I haven't been horribly happy with this. Again, new building and things break, but the response times have been up and down. Our worst issue is with heating/cooling. We had a pipe burst at the end of winter. It was the second 65 degree day when it happened, and eventually management claimed we had our heat turned down too low, and a pipe froze. On a 65 degree day... And this was after we consistently kept our heat at 65 during the winter. Of course, that HVAC system hasn't worked right. Our AC works improperly, leaving itself on until it flash freezes, pouring water down from the drain overflow in the shower NONSTOP, and really becoming a major annoyance. It's taken a lot of complaint, and only next week are we going to get a person from the company who installed it to come out. Meanwhile, I pay excessive power bills to keep turning the AC on and off so it doesn't freeze or just stop working altogether. Staff ----- The staff is generally helpful and well spoken. I have no complaints to direct at any specific person who works here. Overall ----- There are problems the management can't deal with, and there are problems they can deal with. I feel that we pay too much for a poorly located apartment with too many broken things. There has never been an incentive or motion made such as a onetime small cut in the rent to cover these things. It's amazing how small gestures really show that the complex cares at all about retaining customers. This hasn't happened here. I won't be renewing for a variety of reasons. And I would recommend if someone does intend to live here, they very carefully scope out their apartment. Check the construction, run the HVAC and water and other things for a bit while checking the place out. DO NOT accept an apartment that faces the private drive! You will be very unhappy with the noise levels.

My Opinion-This place is terrible!
My Opinion-This place is terrible! Paper-thin walls-TRUE! Rude, untruthful, unorganized, management-TRUE. Stinky dog waste outside your window-TRUE. Make sure you understand every little detail of the lease because even though they broke my lease agreement, they still expected me to comply! This was a living nightmare for me!
RETREAT TO HELL
I have lived in this building for almost a year now. When I initially moved in the unit was not ready so I had to store my stuff for about 3 weeks, they then moved me into a temporary unit. When I finally got into my unit I was temporally happy until I realized how paper thin the walls are. I have had to deal with incredibly loud neighbors with no help or little help from the staff at retreat. Not to mention that security doors and intercom boxes are broken on a continual basis. Yes, they have a gym, big deal, the gym is only good if there is no one in it. It's so small that it is almost impossible to share with other tenants. The staff is rude, defensive, un coroporative, they will not help you period. It's too expensive, poorly built, I could go on but ya thats it in a nutshell. Oh did I mention that it is in the middle of a construction site for two high-rises? Ya thats fun at 8 am on a Sunday.
