Best apartment in daytona PERIOD.
For those who complain about this place I definitely have to ask where else around can you get all the amenities that Hawthorne Village offers? After being in another apartment for a year I didn't have to think twice about moving here. For 200.00 a month more than my previous apartment I can have tile floors, new appliances WITH washers and dryers, surround pre wired, 9ft ceilings, and everything is NEW. The gates work fine now that the construction is finished. The ONLY problem is that some residents blast through them so fast that you find out quick why the entrance gate might be knocked off the arm every now and then. I have never had problems with management however I always pay my rent on time. The maintenance personnel are very nice and I have never had any problems with them either. They have been very helpful to me. I really enjoy the safety and quality of residents here. Its amazing how 200.00 more a month can get me out of the riff raff of Daytona's Finest.

My only complaints are that neither I nor my neighbors received a copy of the lease which legally I believe they are required to give us, and that the pool closes way too early. I believe it closes at either 7 or 8pm. Which means that for those of us who actually work for a living and get home at around that time, we have no pool or hot tub access on the weekdays.

Definitely think twice
Is the community nice? Yes. Are the apartments spacious? Yes. Is the location good and close to everything? YES! But that is where the "yes" ends and the terrible begins. They (office staff) are real nice and quick to accomodate you when you are "shopping" around but once you sign the lease they become obselete. It took 2 weeks after moving in and my husband's daily visits to have them come and fix what was on our "move-in" checklist. And our checklist was done 2 days prior to our moving in so that we wouldn't need anyone to have to come back out. We had and still to this day have a MAJOR drainage issue in the pathway right in front of our door. We were told that it was the city's problem and nothing has been done about it! I ruined 2 pairs of shoes before finally taking them off and rolling my pants up to walk through it to get home!!! I could go on and on... we have since moved out due to my husband getting transferred and that in itself is an ongoing battle! I received the certified letter stating what I "owed" and there were items on there that was not on my final checklist that they were charging me for! Where do they get the nerve? DO NOT, DO NOT - I REPEAT, DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS!!! THE SERVICE ALONE SUCKS! And don't even get me started on the spiders!!!

NOISE
Think more than twice before coming to this apt. complex. Yes they are new, yes they are nice, but the noise from neighbors is unbearable and the office staff does nothing about it. You pay a premium to live here and the service sucks. When I expressed my concerns about the noise they told me I could move to another apartment which would cost me a 200.00 transfer fee plus moving cost. They would rather keep touble residents than good ones, so beware coming to this complex. If you are smart you will find a better apt. at a much lower cost.

think twice
these apts are new and that is what i liked about .compared to others in the area this one is pretty nice and has room. at first i was very pleased and didnt mind the price. but after three or four days the noise started. the walls are so thin you can hear your dowm stairs neighbor talking . at night when i try to go to sleep i still hear the people on the other side talking. my heater only heats for 20 min so if you are a long shower taker then think twice. i feel like i have to tip toe around. i have been here for three weeks and the maitnence men still havent fixed my sink. i have called and everything. oh if you have a king bed dont plan on having a dresser on the end you will only have about a foot to open drawers. and the people in the office are nice but very fake. the spiders are here when it rains too. i asked the staff about it before i moved in and said they new nothing.the gates are useless. half of time they are open and when they are closed then you can just follow someone in cause they stay open for ever, about four cars can go through before it shuts. and if you park in the front then you can walk around the gate. there is no point.there is no lighting in the bedrooms either, the only light is the closets and no fixture on the ceiling that annoys me to death. i had to go get lamps right a way. i should of listened to this site.

Hindsight is 20/20
The size and layout of the 3/2 Apartment is excellent, it feels like a house. But that's where it ends. The walls are so thin you might as well live with your neighbors and split the rent! Maintainance leaves a lot to be desired. Spiders. No Courtesy Officer. It is a gated community...when the gate works!Spiders. Garage door takes three or more tries to close. Car care center fits a bicycle. Spiders. It is close to shopping and off the main roads which is a plus. Did I mention the spiders?!

Poor maintenance
The apartments are pretty. Only complaints: The blinds break easily, and the windows allow a lot of moisture in on cold days.

Not bad at all...
This property is brand new and gorgeous! the office staff is a little snippy but... The look of the property def. makes up for that. It is expensive but it is brand new what more do you expect. It is in a wonderful area. And pretty secluded. The maintence is very good and quick to fix the problem.
