good place to live
Do not let the others overly dramatic comments scare you away. What they says is true, however it is exaggeration. You will find problems like these or worse at other apartments. I have no complaints, except they did change the lease. Did I sign it? No. Its safe and quiet here. Nice area. Convienent to everything.

Awful
There are few places to park. They allow truckers to park their Mack trucks inside the complex. The parking decals and the visitor parking is not enforced. You have to park far away from your building in the visitor parking because the visitors and the Mack trucks don't park there. The front gate is always broken because the Mack trucks drive right through. They do not respond to tenants who play their stereos at the highest level. With all of the problems here, they decided to raise the rent in the middle of the lease.

horrible!!!!!!!!!
They changed our lease about half way in. They changed water and cable, of course more expensive. The people above us are so loud and they will do nothing about it. The apartment will stay about the temperature of the outdoors there is nothing you can do about it, it is very poorly insulated. Once again dont waste your time telling them this because somehow it will be your fault. They do nothing about your concerns as a tennant they just want your money!!!! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fairly reasonable, until I had a simple request
Shiloh Valley is overall a fair place to live, however, when it came to something as simple as a request to pick up another tenants broken beer bottles in the breezeway (nice, by the way), I had to ask three times, all three different times being assured that it "would be taken care of immediately." The broken glass has been there almost a full month. It's a nice complex otherwise, but I didn't appreciate being shrugged off by some of the office staff.

I love Shiloh Valley it is within reason as far as price goes, and I have never had a problem with noise. I love it, it is also a safe place to stay! although I would enjoy additional lighting in the parking lot. I never hear any noisy neighbors.

Safe Place
I think this is a safe place to live. I see our courtesy officer out on the property all the time, even late at night. I even see him out at the pool during the day checking to make sure the people who are swimming live in the complex, and arent from the surrounding neighborhoods. There are some residents (very few) who complain about everything, but that comes with every complex. I have lived here for a year and everything has been great. There are some things that could be better but I am sure they will get better with the new manager and the tighter security.Keep up the great job.

police here 5/25
I heard loud voices around 10:15 PM and looked out the window to see a policeman talking to 2 women in the parking lot and loud talking was still coming from the same 2nd floor apt. (in the 7000 building) that is often noisy.
If you ignore the warnings about the noise and choose to live here, DO NOT take an apt. in the 7 building. Between that apt. and the kids PLAYING in the bar-b-que area the noise is ridiculous.
I have called the police before myself.

Noise again (can't these people shut up)
Like clockwork! 9:30 P.M. and I can hear noisy people in the parking lot, louder than the T.V.
Rude, inconsiderate, noisy tenants. Not worth the ever increasing rent. I started out at a $699.00 (sucker you in) special and will need to pay $798.00/month one year later if I want to renew. I'M OUT OF HERE.

noise and dog poo
I'd say that 4 our of 7 nights you can hear people talking/laughing/screaming (or so it seems) in the parking lot at night after 10. I have called the courtesy officer on the people partying on their balcony on a Tuesday night after 11 PM. I get up at 5 AM for work. Party somewhere else. Supposedly there have been 2 times when maintenance was supposed to come into apts. to check for leaks and to change smoke detector batteries. I dont think they ever did. Before they came, one of my smoke detectors was hanging from the ceiling by its wires. You'd think that if they came to inspect them and saw it hanging they'd fix it. No. I can hear my next door neighbor singing at the top of her voice and bumping around.I can hear the downstairs neighbor talking and singing through the A.C. unit. The door to the AC and hot water heater is locked. Hot water runs out. I'd have to get maintenance in order to change the settings on it but dont like them in my apt. when I'm not there.
I can't even count the times I've seen people walking their dogs and not picking up after them.
Kids run in the parking lot and play by the bar-b-que pits unsupervised.
RENT WILL BE RAISED WHEN YOU TRY TO RENEW YOUR LEASE. You'd think they would reward people who pay rent on time and have no complaints against them by at least keeping rent the same but NO, not here.
Run...This place is a rip off
It is a Sunday afternoon and the ONE pool for all residents is packed with kids. These are the same kids that play in the parking lot next to your cars. Further, this place is only three years old and falling apart. The inside of my apartment looks like crap. The -------- interior decorator choose to mix silver and gold(yuck). There are Kmart fixtures and oh did I mention no crown molding. The walls/floor boards look so cheap. AMLI is better, anything is better. If the person likes the place so much why did they leave? (my guess is management posted that). Anyway this place sucks, dont make the same mistake I did. Oh the walls are paper thin!

Don't move to these apts
Rude leasing agents, bad noise level, lots of kennesaw state university students making noise and partying whole night long, slow responsiveness of maintenance staff

They'll say anything to get you in
When I moved in I asked how much rent would increase when I renewed.I was told by both female leasing agents "between 3-6%". Sure, it was between 3 and 6 percent of the MARKET RATE, however I'm NOT paying market rent.So why should my increase be based on a price I'm not paying? So looking at my rent, it would be an increase of 10.25% Be careful. Walls are thin. I can hear my neighbor on the master bedroom side singing Jesus songs at the top of her lungs. I can smell cooking from the international folks who live on the kitchen side. And talk about dog poo! No one picks up after their dog. During the summer you can smell it when you walk out to your car. Kids run through the parking lot screaming and playing, unsupervised. Just today I saw 3 of them throwing rocks from the bar-b-que area toward some parked cars. They were out by themselves so I yelled at them to stop. I dont notice any noisy college students but they do appear to be the ones with dogs letting them poop all over. There are even bags to use for picking it up. One guy saw me looking at him as his large dog took a dump in a garden. He just kept going. Never did pick it up.If you get to park near your building, consider yourself fortunate.

Very bad noise level
Lot of Kennesaw State University students. High electric bills (Shoddy materials and workmanship), noisy community, not for family. Insulation between floors is pretty bad causing noise. You would even hear a person sneezing floor above you.

Great Place to Live
After coming from a horrible dump just down the street, I absolutely love it here. My roomate and I got more than our money's worth. All of my friends are impressed when they come to visit.

Two Thumbs Up
I lived here for a year back in 2002 and I really liked it. The office staff was very helpful and maintanence was very prompt on the 2 occasions I needed them. It was a well-insulated apt so I didn't hear my nieghbors. The pool area was nice and I enjoyed the location. Overall it's a very nice complex and would recommend it to anyone.

niether here nor there
not a bad complex, staff flaky as you'll find anywhere else... apartment was new when i moved in. so no issues on that other than it was a huge 2 bed apartment with useless space in the oversized foyer, and not enough cabinet space in the kitchen.
never had anything break, or fail...of the few requests maintenance was quick to respond, and kept the grounds up to par.
location was great and awful... barrett parkway is a bear at all times, so getting home after a long day wasn't the best, and trying to go out in the evening could also be a hassle, but you deal with it.

Unreasonable Penalties and Fines
While living in Shiloh Valley Overlook, I enjoyed the view from my apartment. Unfortunately, that is the only highlight worth noting about my stay there. I often found management difficult to deal with. Once they took a position, it was very difficult to reach a fair resolution. I was a good tenant; I paid rent on time and I never got complaints from my neighbors. Nonetheless, I experienced a stark difference in the treatment I received as a prospective tenant and the treatment I received as a tenant. Under current management, there is a good reason for the high turnover in move outs.
