Plainview is a nice apartment complex. We had a great experience with living there. The staff is great and friendly, especially Gabe, one of the maintence guys. Always willing to help!

I have renewed my lease for the second time, living here is affordable to both my budget and location to the highways. Plus there are many quality benefits to living here. The staff have always been kind, maintenance keeps up on requests and the recent upgrades such as new sliding patio doors and new front entrance doors have helped keep the weather where it belongs. In addition, during the summer the pool hours are convenient and family-friendly. A good value.

Plainview has been wonderful so far. The apartments have been recently renovated and everything looks nice and new and works properly. The office staff is also amazing. They are some of the most friendly people I have ever met, and they make sure you are taken care of. This past month they replaced my front door with a new one (when I didn't think anything was wrong with the old one), but it shuts tighter than the old and keeps the weather out better. They also give helpful hints, such as letting me know I can get a box delivered to the office instead of my front door. They'll sign for it, and I just have to pick it up so that it doesn't sit at my front door for someone else to take during the day. The office staff is definitely my favorite part about Plainview.

Lost my keys to the apartment. Went to the Leasing Office and told them what happened. The associates there were helpful and provided with a spare key to my apartment. It was a quick and easy fix.

I have lived in an apartment at Plainview for almost two years now & will soon be moving into a townhouse on the property. The location is excellent. The leasing & maintenance staff are helpful & prompt to fix problems in a timely manner. The amenities are very nice. The area is very nice for walking, etc. I always feel safe in this community, even after dark. It's also VERY quiet here. Since I have moved in, many exterior & interior updates have been made that are great. Overall, it is well maintained! I look forward to spending several more months here at Plainview.

I just wanted to thank all of the staff for making our move very comfortable and pleasant. We recently moved from a one bedroom apartment into a two bedroom apartment within the apartment complex. Everyone was very accommodating and helpful in the transition. Anytime we have had a maintenance issue the office was extremely helpful and maintenance was right there. We love the Plainview area. A special thanks to Andrea who made the move possible. Always tentative to emails or calls. Helped anyway she could and very pleasant to work with. Extremely happy in Plainview. Thank you Plainview Staff and maintenance crew! Johnny and Nancy Quintana

Have lived here less than a year. While it appears that windows are being replaced, I doubt whoever is doing the job will meet the schedule that we were told. We live in a townhome, and for the money, expected much better. Dings in some of the tile areas, trim on doors and walls dinged. Not properly insulated under the roofing, and the upstairs isn't liveable on hot days as we have had in the past few days..I am dreading July and August. Love the neighborhood, the feeling of safety and the quietness. Grounds are well-maintained, and while maintenance responds quickly to maintenance requests, the feeling is that someone, such as an A/C type, would not be called unless it is pushed. Sometimes, it takes more than just adding freon, if it was done, to make something work right. Office personnel are friendly, yet will get a slightly different answer on the same question depending on whom asked. Requirements are that if you move, either upgrade or downgrade, you still have to apply, pay a deposit, etc., as if you are just moving here and I find that ridiculous. At this point, will not renew lease or remain on the property.

Staff is horrible. Since Blair left there is not one person in the office who is friendly and the person who took Blair's place arbitrarily changes policies and is rude and unprofessional. I am moving ASAP. She needs to go! Ellen something is the worst apartment manager and her staff is horrible too.

Apartments are OK but the management is worst. They change the policies as they want and service is not good. In short Rude staff!! There used to be very nice staff and service but since they have changed all the staff things changed. 1. While renewing the lease told me that they would provide free touch up paint can but after signing the lease asking me to pay for it. Unacceptable. 2. They allow pets in the apartments but do not implement the cleaning policies. People do not pick up after the pets. You will find all that stuff on the grass and pathways.

It has vastly improved since the new management has come in. Not only are they professional but nice people to talk to also! I would recommend it to anyone looking to move to a clean and friendly area in louisville!

I love living in Plainview Apartments! When I have maintenance needs, they are at my door within an hour or two tops. The office staff are kind and professional... no complaints about the management at all. The property is well-groomed (which can be irritating because they come once a week and spend a lot of time doing their noisy work), and I have a great view of a courtyard, where people walk their dogs. Residents generally pick up after their dogs and put the waste in the available poop cans, which are emptied regularly. The price is high, but I think you often have to pay more to ensure a safe, well-maintained, professionally run community. I pay $1,366 per month, which includes utilities and the monthly pet fee of $100 (total cost for my two pets). The area around Plainview Apartments is great for walking.

I have lived at Plainview now for 8 months. By far the best value in the east end. I'm not normally a review writer but everything here has worked out so wonderfully I felt compelled to speak up and sing the praises of NTS and Plainview. The ladies in the office are so professional. Every time I have a problem or concern they address it at once. The maintenance staffs prompt response to my issues is a true service to me and my family. If you are looking for a friendly, clean and overall nice place to live. I highly recommend Plainview as a safe and welcoming community.

Renters Beware!! I read reviews on apartments and usually end up with the opinion that the renter was at fault for whatever they were upset about... but not Plainview.. The apartments are nice, its the management that is shady.. Do not expect to get any of your deposit back, and don't rely on getting info from the apartment about changes in policy... The people that work their are under-qualified and young and have no interest in keeping renters happy or up to date on policy's that could change the price of your rent check... Their are much more honest apartments out there... Avoid Plainview!

I've been reading the reviews on this website and am surprised at the wide range of opinions. I came on here specifically to compliment the maintenance staff, specifically Jeff, for quick and courteous attention. Overall, this is a very nice, quiet and safe complex. Despite all of that, I would agree that the rent is on the high side for what you get which I wouldn't mention except it's getting higher. Because of the rent increase in my second year, I will probably be looking for a different place next year unless there is a rent decrease in the near future (yeah right). But I don't think Plainview will have any problem filling my apartment. There does seem to be a lot of turnover here. The staff is always courteous to me. The noise insulation could be better but I don't seem to mind. They did have a string of shutting off the water often, but it never affected me, so I didn't mind. The only really disappointing thing about the place is that the washer and dryer in the building is pretty pathetic. I tried using it once but my clothes never really got dry. Fortunately the washer can only hold a few pairs of jeans so it wasn't much that I had to "air-dry".

I lived at Plainview Apartments for a year and a half. We had moved into Lime Spring way which I assume are the new units. Our unit was on the first floor. My experience here was great. I loved the apartment. The maintenance crew was good. They did shut off water very often; at least twice a month for maintenance. But we were notified in advance so we plan our schedule accordingly. The rent was a little expensive but it was worth. It is a huge apt. Gym and pool is good. However, they have increased the rent a lot more now which makes me wonder if it is really worth that much after all. The only issue we had was the lease breakage charges. $1500 fine and 2 months rent! That is so very expensive. My husband's project had come to an end abruptly and we had to move to a new city which was very expensive already. There was no way we could've avoided the breakage. It was unfortunate. The penalty for lease breakage, shifting charges, moving into a new apt in the new city, all of it hit us real bad.! We went through a very hard time. Adding to this, we were also fined because we did not clear some papers in the store room. There were just shopping bags and nothing more. we were charged $100 for that! To summarize, I never had problems until I lived there. Once we had to leave due to unfortunate circumstances (which was not in our control), we were heavily penalized. And hey, make sure you don't lose your gym key card. $50 fine!

Kind, courteous, and always available to answer any question I may have. Also, one of the biggest apartments in town!! it's hard to find enough room for a family of 6, but at Plainview we don't feel cramped at all.

What to say about Plainview Apartments? And NTS as landlords? We moved in to one of the new "refurbished" units back in March of 2013. At the time I didn't think anything of the cost of the place due to a good paying job. "Refurbished" translates as "this was one of the units that burned down and we rebuilt it". Don't get me wrong, it's very impressive. Black granite counter tops, black appliances, new carpet, huge bathroom with all the trimmings and a walk in closet that is to die for. It came with an $860/month price tag - this is a one (count them) ONE bedroom apartment. On the first floor. Add in all the fees (sewer, water, trash collection) and it rounds up to around $920 a month. That doesn't include electricity (LG&E) or cable or internet. This place is costing us around $1100 a month. For a one bedroom apartment. That's right, one bedroom. Now, I realize that Plainview is an affluent part of town. It's surrounded by very nice mansion style homes, easy access to Oxmoor and St. Matthew's shopping centers, etc etc, however, for $1100 a month I find myself wondering why I didn't rent the 3 bedroom home with 2 bathroom and a fenced in yard in the Highlands for $300 less a month. NTS has a very high opinion of themselves, and they train their staff accordingly. I have never met a more unfriendly group of people in my entire life. God forbid you need anything at 4:45pm on a weekday, because they are already standing by the door with their purses waiting to go home, and if you walk in with an issue, you get icy cold glares of death from the office staff. Also, and take this for what it's worth, they are not at all friendly to anyone who's skin tone is darker than Ecru. I witnessed one of the office girls be extremely rude to a group of young African American men who came in to inquire about renting a space. She very haughtily told them "You all realizes that rent starts at $800 a month here, right?" without even asking them what they were looking for. I was astonished, and the gentlemen were very taken aback by her attitude. It strikes me as funny, as 95% of the population renting here is not American. As for the apartment itself, sure it's pretty, but there are flaws all over the place. First of all, whoever did the tile work on the floors did an awful job. There are discolored tiles left and right. They look like hot things were dropped on them. I'm sure I'm going to get charged for damage. The black granite counter tops have silicone sealant stains all over them. It's as though the just set their caulk guns down on the surfaces and left them to set. There is absolutely no weather stripping around the windows or front door. I am now getting a stiff cold breeze constantly in the bedroom and out in the living room. There is constantly a layer of condensation on the back of the front door and the bedroom windows. We asked a maintenance man if there was anything that could be done about this (i.e. come put in some f$@#ing weather stripping) and he shrugged and shook his head. Meanwhile (and thank god for budget plans) our heat is running constantly. Ah well, such is the price for luxury. I inquired what it would take to move to a more affordable loft/efficiency style apartment. In the past, when I have wanted to transfer my lease, other companies have offered very amenable terms, usually with a pro rate involved for the old apartment along with first month's rent at the new space, and a nominal charge for utility transfers. With NTS, if you decide to downsize, you have to pay the $1500 lease break free (non negotiable-doesn't matter what style apartment you are currently living in) pay a new application fee ($25) a new deposit ($200) and first month's rent for the new apartment. I was astounded. It would cost me more to move into a new NTS apartment than what I am paying a month for the current one. So, here I am, stuck in an apartment that I can no longer afford, with no alternatives. Also, pet owners, this place is very schizo on their pet policy. When I moved in I was told that I could not have any fur bearing animals in my apartment. However, several people in this complex have dogs (including pitbulls and a horse-like Great Dane) out and about all the time. I was very confused as to why I was told "no" when I asked, but other people seem to be able to have all manner of canines. In short, you pay a lot for very little in return. The cracks in the china definitely show in this place. In the plus column, if you can afford it, it's not half bad. NTS really needs to get a clue. Not many single folk like myself, let alone small families are going to be able to afford luxury rent prices. Wake up NTS.

DO NOT RENT HERE! They shut off your water at least once a week for maintenance and not take any money off of your bill. The staff is rude and discourteous. If you have a maintenance issue, they will traipse through your apartment without covering their shoes, tracking who knows what in. The apartment below me had a water leak, so maintenance destroyed my apartment on a Saturday morning trying to find the problem. They said they would be back to fix my apt. on Monday, but didn't show up until after I had called to remind them. The plumber tracked in bathroom funk from the below apt. into my kitchen! When they did show up to fix my kitchen, they did a shoddy job and scraped up the linoleum and refused to fix it. My apartment was completely renovated before I moved in, but upon inspecting the workmanship, I noticed it was done poorly. The paint and drywall chipped when I hammered a small nail in. The shower wasn't properly caulked, therefore causing water to leak and mold to form. I wouldn't recommend this complex to my worst enemy. By the way, they will find a way to nickle and dime you. I was charged $75 because they took my rent from the wrong bank account. After several months, my rent started being withdrawn from the wrong account again...they swore it wasn't their fault. If you lose any of the keys they give you, it will cost you $50 per key...this includes the little plastic magnetic key to the fitness center. The laundry facility is cleaned only once a week. The cameras in the facility are fake. Most of the equipment is broken, and they refuse to fix it. My rent was raised $41 throughout the year and a half I lived there. The apartment seems beautiful at first glance, but the hassle of living there is a nightmare. The office staff will be nice if you have a man present, and totally rude if you are a single woman...keep in mind they are salespeople.

Well, they say he apts are renovated but they are really not...it is just a trick to increase the rent. The apartments are also having very thin floorings because of which we can hear what the guy below us is talking or the guy next to us. No rpivacy. If you are a non smoker and if your neighbour smokes then you get the smoke in your room. On complaining to the management you get rude answers. The staff is very rude and uncooperative. Stay away.

I have lived in the Plainview Apartments a bit under a year and enjoy the apartment and the development. The apartment is very nice, I especially like the countertops, kitchen cabinets and the bathroom tile. The landscaping and parking lots are well maintained, there is plenty of parking and the pool is nice. The staff is professional, effecient and professionally dressed. Jessie stands out as welcoming and friendly. The communication level is good and I feel informed appropriately. I would recommend living here to a friend.

I just recently moved into these apartments and my air wasn't working right by the third day after I moved in. I called the office and they sent someone out to fix the air with 10 minutes after I called. The staff was so nice and I was very pleased to have such a speedy response to my complaint!

Plainview employees lack professionalism and basic intelligence

You know it's bad when you can walk into the office at Plainview and witness their employees responding to negative reviews instead of picking up the constantly ringing telephone. I've witnessed this first hand, and it's sad to know that if I had a gas leak or any kind of major problem that I would likely be stuck waiting for their worthless maintenance and office administration to provide assistance while they sit around trying to counter attack their tenants online. I just recently moved out of Plainview and like many other writers I had a horrible experience. When you first move in, Plainview provides an excellent pitch of their property. I myself lived in one the older models and although visually I had no qualms with the dated layout, but my ceiling also leaked EVERY SINGLE TIME it rained. Not just a small trickle of water, but my kitchen was flooded time and time again. The term maintenance request should be used very loosely for if you have any knowledge about basic home improvements you will be able to do a better job than the lackluster maintenance workers that are often seen lounging on their golf carts smoking ALL DAY. If you are interested in having all of your stuff ruined due to the poor engineering and construction of an over priced apartment, go take all your most cherished items and toss them into the Ohio River because you are more likely to save your items and your sanity by just doing the job yourself. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX TO ANYONE. The Better Business Bureau that will be following up at your property within the week.
