This community is such a vibrant group that really has something for everyone. Holidays, happy hours, kids events, food trucks, clothing swaps, a community garden, dog park. Under the new management company, a lot of the energy has shifted from lackadaisical to super involved. It's nice to know we have a place to voice concerns or discuss improvements.

I like the Blairs because of the convenient location and eco-friendly features. The apartments are spacious and well-appointed. The social activities are a pleasant way of getting to know the neighbors..

So far so good! I moved in yesterday, the apartment was clean and ready for move in. The staff was helpful with the move in process. I'm thrilled with the location as I need the red line to get to work.

I have been overall very happy with Blair House. The location is terrific, and I've overall been very happy with the services provided, the maintenance of the building, and the communications from the staff. I just resigned my lease for another two years. However, there are some exceptions I want to mention. The biggest issue for me has been the inconsistent treatment of noise levels. I appreciate when I have some leeway about noise in my unit and being able to have friends over to entertain, but I've found that the building security's treatment of volume levels (and complaints about volume levels) is all over the map. I've received a warning from security once for having one friend over and having a loud conversation, yet I've also heard loud parties in nearby units continue for hours with no issues. I've gotten to the point where I prefer not to have friends over out of fear of being yelled at. I am generally very happy with the Classic Concierge staff, but twice in the last two months, the staff at Blair House told me that they lost my package when, in fact, they hadn't. I don't understand why this is happening more frequently, but it has lowered my confidence in the security/wherewithal of the building. I was told that a package I ordered had been stolen, but very soon after, they found it. (I want to give particular thanks to Floyd, who in both cases found my "missing" packages almost immediately when I asked him.) I have had almost uniformly awful experiences interacting with the business office. (Russell, however, is wonderful.) I am still reeling from an interaction I had with the business office two years ago, when I attempted to modify and renew my lease. The process took close to four months of back-and-forth, following up on calls that I was told would be returned and weren't. Most recently, I am still waiting to hear back about a credit for a referral I made; it's been two months so far. When I interact with the business office, I don't feel valued or respected. I feel treated like I am an inconvenience for them because they already have my money. I'm also alarmed by the slow progress on replacing the building's elevators. I don't remember when the first elevator was taken offline -- probably close to a year ago -- but the glacial progress with no communication about the process has been disruptive. It's the main topic of small talk that residents make in the elevators now, how terrible the elevator repairs have been. I now add an additional five minutes to my commute with the expectation that multiple elevators will be offline or broken. I've also been saddened by the rollback in building perks. When I first moved in, the old pool was being demolished; the leasing agent told me that we would have access to the new pool in the Pearl when it was finished, but we don't. That seems deceptive.) I'm highlighting these because I have been generally very happy with the community at Blair House with the exemption of these issues.

I was moving to the area from a different country and I anticipated that it would be very stressful however; the leading agent who managed my lease agreement was phenomenal! She guided my family through every step to ensure we had just what we needed. I truly appreciate her dedication and commitment to ensuring that we had a smooth and easy transition.

Great community. Close to everything. Walking distance to downtown Silver Spring. My apartment is spacious with a view. Nice area. The grocery store is right here to go to. The metro is right across the street.

My sister lived in this apartment for 20 years, that's how I came to live here. I have lived here for over 20 years and I can say that the grounds are kept clean and I feel safe living here. I have made this my home.

I worked with Sarah, Patrick, and Rupsi in the leasing office while viewing apartments and signing the lease. All three of them were competent and knowledgeable about the complex and leasing options. They had great upbeat attitudes and were always helpful! The complex itself is great so far, I've been in my unit for two days now. I'm on the 14th floor and there is hardly any noise from the hallway.

We are very pleased with the decision we made to move to the Blairs. It is located in a good place in Silver Spring, close to the Metro and lots of shops, restaurants, theaters, etc. We walk a lot of places, without having to use our car, which is conveniently parked in the garage under the building. Our apartment had been newly done when we came here, with a lot of nice features, including a modern kitchen. It is a good size, which I think would be hard to beat in this area. There is a nice diversity of residents in the building, and a lot of people that we enjoy interacting with. It was a good choice for us, and we would recommend it to others.

One word, value. Definitely not the nicest apartments in the area but with how close you are to everything it's well worth it. My radius is less than 1 mile now because there's everything I need right in downtown.

I've been a happy resident of the community for 6 years, though I am concerned about the new management's ability to maintain the property. Overall, I have very positive feelings about the people who live at the Blairs and the quality of the apartments themselves. My husband and I love the view from our apartment and all the closets we have. We have noticed a marked decline in the quality of the property and management's ability to address problems in the last year or so. For about a year, we dealt with a roach infestation, when we had never so much as seen a bug in years prior (many thanks to Lamont for helping us work out a schedule with Ehlric to manage the roaches), elevators are constantly out of order or malfunctioning to the point where residents are getting trapped in them (I have been trapped in an elevator twice now where the fire department has been called to assist), and due to a clerical error on the business office's part, my husband and I were alerted on a Sunday morning in January that our car was going to be towed unless we could prove we were parked in the correct spot (We were. The business office had failed to update their records when we moved parking spaces from one garage to another a month or so prior). Though the value for the money is decent at the Blairs, it is problems like these that make me feel like I can do better elsewhere and dramatically detract from my positive feelings overall about my living experience.

The community is nice and the building staff are friendly. There is a concierge that monitors the front desks of the buildings are try to help when possible. On the down side, the management staff appears to have a high turnover and there is poor communication to the residents on important issues. For example, you may get an email in the evening about repainting the stripes for the parking spaces the next day so you would not necessarily know to move your car before you leave for the metro in the morning.

I searched extensively for a good place with all the amenities and good ratings in the Silver Spring area and finally settled on the Blairs for multiple reasons. We wanted two bedrooms with at least 2 bathrooms, in house laundry, gas kitchen, covered parking garage, close to metro, ABSOLUTELY NO PESTS and decent square footage. After almost 9 months I must say all of those criteria have been fulfilled for a price that's not matched by most places. While there have been a couple of smaller issues (all of them so far have been addressed and fixed), in the whole we are getting a great deal for the money spent. Living at Blair Towns gives us the advantage of all the amenities of an apartment complex (Concierge, maintenance, service etc) with all the benefits of a townhouse without noisy neighbors, pests from other apartments, individual laundry and a feeling of independent home. For my husband and I, this is a great place to live in, commute from and access all the shops and restaurants downtown with ease. Having Giant and other grocery and stores at such close proximity is a luxury that we are now used to and will miss when we leave!

The location is good and for the most part safe. I haven't been thrilled about the price increases, parking fees, and taking away the pool. There seem to be many community building events, but I think people in Blair Plaza would be even happier if we had 4 working elevators, an automatic back door that's not constantly blocked by shopping carts, and a work out room that has wall-mounted fans for circulation and isn't leaking from the ceiling.

Great location transportation wise until Purple Line has closed metro and streets around it. Local entertainment and bar/restaurant is very limited with either small shabby ethnic restaurants or fast casual places. Aggressive homeless population in surrounding areas,

Great location, great accommodations, could use an amenities upgrade. For example of amenities, the business printer rarely works, the exterior TV/grill rarely works, and the trash dumpster usually overflows weekly. Other than those small complaints it's been a great place to live.

You can't beat the price and the location. 1 block to metro is amazing. I would like to get a second key fob. It was also be nice to have laminate flooring put in, in place of the carpet. I would be more likely to stay if those conditions were met.

I just moved into the community so I don't have a lot of experience but I like how the building requires key entry. It provides a layer of safety that I appreciate. Additionally, the 24 hour concierge is a great amenity.
