I just moved in and love my new home. It was very clean and it is one of the first apt I have moved into that I did not have to write ten pages of items wrong. The office staff was very informative not to mention very friendly. I have not been in my apartment long enough to comment on the maintenance but I hope they are as good as the office staff. The only thing negative I see is the location of the compactor. They should move it to the center of the complex to make access easier.

I have lived here for a couple weeks and everything was perfect upon move in new paint, carpet, appliances, had a washer and dryer, basic cable i had no complaints. The women in the office were sweet and very helpful. the gate gets broken because people push it open when they dont have the code so that is just a case of impatience. As far as the trash goes i personally like the fact that the compacter is at the front of the complex and it gets full and people just throw it in front that is a case of sheer laziness. If there were dumpsters all over the complex it would just look hideous i love this complex and would refer anyone and everyone to move in here.

Colonial Grand at Bear Creek
Living Experience: Horrible Lizards running around the garage, multiple cracks and openings in the garage wall. The place wasn't even ready when we got there, spider webs hanging out the ceiling of the garage. garbage also over flowing, the "gated Community" gates never close, they are open to one and all, so much for calling it a "GATED COMMUNITY"!!!. 19th century Thermostat still in use.

What a fraud to live here!!
I dislike these apartments so much! My apt was dirty with carpet patches in the rooms because they're too cheap to replace it. Cracks in the walls. My bathroom sprung a leak and maintenance guy on duty said he didnt know how to fix it or where the keys /tools were kept. The gate is always broken...so much for gated community. But the worse is there are at least 20 dumpster like areas but you're not allowed to use them or they fine you $100 so instead the whole complex has to use the only trash compacter in the entrance. Trash is always piled up and the smelly. Cant wait for my lease to be over.

**************DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!****************************
THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX THAT I HAVE EVER LIVED IN. The staff is horrible, the service is horrible, the late fees are horrible, the apartments are disgusting... There are cracks and holes all over our apartment, they will try and charge you an $85 late fee for being one day late on your rent, the apartment was not cleaned prior to moving in, there are mice in our garage.... DO NOT MOVE INTO COLONIAL GRAND AT BEAR CREEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COLONIAL GRAND ONLY CARES ABOUT THEIR MONEY AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS!!!!!!!!!

Hell on Earth
This is, bar none, the worst apartment complex ever, if for no other reason than the management company itself. In the past year, the complex manager has changed three times (four different managers), and when each one starts out, its always "oh so great" to be there, yet, like them all, the place does nothing but fall apart afterwards. Trash is regularly neglected, piling up out onto the street. The front gates absolutely, positively NEVER work, and are always in a state of repair. Yet you're required to pay $50 for a clicker to open them. Maintenance takes ages to come. But my god... the management staff is incomprehensibly stupid. You can call their direct line (and believe me, I've tested this and complained MULTIPLE times) while literally standing in their office, and they will just look at the caller ID and not answer. It happens damn near daily. And when they do answer, no matter what your question is, the answer is almost always the same: "I'm not sure, but I'll look into that for you and call you back." Even if its something as simple as asking if your package has come in yet. But the kicker... they never call you back.ā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Worst place ever :(
This complex looks really nice outside, but is a really nightmare inside. First the management are rude, dont take care of the claims, and make a lot of mistakes. I received a final notice in my door when I do all my rent payments before the due date. Then the refrigerator and stove are pretty old. When I moved the balcony had cigarettes marks. The main gate never works and they pretend charge residents for a key to have access if some day works. I cant wait to move out.

Not what I expected
Colonial G. was recommended to me by a colleague and seemed like a good complex at first, since then she has moved and so will I. From the exterior you will be completely fooled by the well kept lawn, the sparkling pool, and the cosmetics. The only good thing about the apartment is the availability of parking however covered parking spots are very limited and probably the bathroom & closet space. Everything in the units are "resurfaced" or cheaply painted over and outdated. My garden tub was "resurfaced" and after two weeks I began to notice a large bubble then shortly after a large crack. Its also true about the counter tops being super easy to stain. Out of the 12 months I lived there the gates only worked for 3 and they charge $50 for the access key, then you will hear a different excuse every time you inquire about it not working. The maintenance guy is extremely nice but seriously one guy for a large complex is not enough, do the math on service request. Omg the trash is the worst thing! Its piled sky high for days, overflowing past the trash compactor and you cant miss itā¦Ā See More>anonymous

A bittersweet Complex
I have lived at Colonial Grand BC for 2 years. My experience has been bittersweet. I was super excited about moving here at first due to the "luxury" look. Well I didn t know any better, and now I realize how the ratings are so bad. I think the units are overpriced for the amenities that you receive. The best thing about the complex to me was "garden tub, large bathroom space, and landscaping. Parking sucks, unless you have a garage or covered parking, you are out of luck...The carpet and paint in the units are cheap, therefore easy to stain. And the counters stain super easy. The pools are not cleaned out regularly and the hot tub hardly works. Within the 2 years I lived here, the gate has been open 80% of the time. Therefore, it was a waste buying the access remote. Many tenants don t clean up after their pets. Due to large volume of tenets and low staffing (maintenance), things are not fixed in a decent amount of time. I recently had gnats for weeks, not sure how they came considering I don t have plants or food out. The office staff was not consistentā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Not worth the money...
The management is terrible and the apartments aren't that impressive. The parking on the south side is good, the gym is decent, and the hot tub never works. The pool always has a bunch of young adults which would be cool if the police weren't called out every time. The area is getting worse so I would recommend looking somewhere else.

I have seen the Bad, but this is The worse!
I used to love this place! I didn't just move in... I've lived in this place for 2years! The rent? it's expensive, the AC doesn't work, The Heater doesn't work, the stove doesn't! It took them more than One month to replace their broken Microwave... I regret to have renewed my lease :( To cancel my lease... I'll have to pay 2 Months in a row, no matter how long I've been renting or how long remaining! (That's their so called Penalty policy) They have more ways to get your money... This place will charge you, Over Charge you and surcharge you! No matter how good resident you've been... they don't care about you! They care about your money :( Believe me, they won't listen to you, they have their written policies to listen to! If you ever move there, don't ever complain because I've told you in advance!

Okay, i recently moved in August and things seem to be going good. I have yet to have any sort of problem with this complex. What I dont understand is why people go off these ratings? People only come on this website to NAG about something that didnt go their way and Im sorry but i personally think its the same for every complex, no matter where you go. There is going to be THOSE PEOPLE who are NAGGiN about something. The area is nice and quiet and my upstair neighbor is amazing. I never hear her. They have a new Yoga room now, which is my favorite. I mean its not bad all.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!
----, the manager, has no idea what she is doing from one day to the next. She lied to my husband about a number of things. Said she would pay the electric bill because his AC went out. She never paid it, and the AC NEVER got fixed. She said that she wouldn't charge him but two months market rent to relet... he now has to pay 4 months market rent. My husband and I have left several messages for maintenance, for ----, for office staff, along with several emails and never received a reply back. Am thinking about suing the company over this. This complex may look nice on the outside, but don't let it fool you. There were orgies in the pool at night... can't take your kids swimming without fear of them seeing something inappropriate at the pool. The maintenance does not fix anything. Appliances are cheap, rusted, and outdated. The office staff is rude and discriminatory (I personally saw one of the office staff treat an ----- ------ man extremely poorly because she couldn't understand what he was asking, even though I could understand him clearly). The staff willā¦Ā See More>frazzledintx

why did i give this place so much money?
Coming from a very old, very crappy complex, I was pleasantly impressed with what I saw when I toured Colonial Grand apartment complex in the summer of 2008. Spaced out buildings, nice landscaping, aromatherapy-filled office... After I moved in, I can honestly say I experienced the same crap that I had lived through in my old complex (search "The Pavilion" and read up on that dump to get a great mental picture). Okay, seriously, if I'm going to pay over $700 a month to live in a one bedroom apartment, should I be hearing pumped-up bass music and screaming party girls on their second floor balcony until 5 in the morning? Should I see the cheapest possible carpet, paint, cabinetry and appliances surrounding me, literally crumbling to the touch? Do overflowing dumpsters that smell like death tickle your fancy? How about upstairs neighbors that sound like the Harlem Globetrotters on meth? The management threatened to evict me (a normal, regularly paying tenant) TWICE because THEY MISPLACED MY MONEY! Yes, THEM! I also got regular notes on my door complaining to me that I used an ENVELOPE to secure my rent payment. Really? So I should just throw a live check into yourā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Don't move here - you will regret it
1st of all, why is someone who lived at these apartments for a short while, MORE THAN 2 YEARS AGO, just now writing a comment????? A little late to be writing a good comment, it won't hold since these apartments have changed DRAMATICALLY since you moved out!!!!! I lived here for 3 years and will say I was SO GLAD to get out when my lease was finally up. I really thought things would get better because I believe the best in things and people. Unfortunately, that never happened. Everything horrible you have read regarding trash, charging for ridiculous trash fees, bad grounds, staff that could care less, horrible maintenance, and the list goes on and on and on. Simply put...DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! KEEP LOOKING, YOU WILL FIND MUCH BETTER ELSEWHERE!!!

Not the best Apt I've ever Lived In...
I lived here from July 2007 through March 2008. These are not the best apartments in the world, but it was clean and everything worked. I know I didn't live here very long, but for the short time I did, I didn't have many problems. I agree with everyone else on here, the trash compactor never works, and trash piles up pretty bad. Also, don't waste your money paying for a gate key, half the time the gate doesn't work anyway.

good location, awful noise
I lived at CG for 1 year, and couldn't wait for my lease to end so I could move out! Poor complaint management, residents who trashed the grounds, and sky-high rent hikes would have driven me out, even if I wasn't already planning to leave. My apartment faced a busy street so I did expect some noise, but that was nothing in comparison to my upstairs neighbor, who would start up the loud music at 2am on weeknights. I'm not talking loud bass, it was loud enough to sing along with! After 3 complaints to management, with nothing offered but a skeptical look and a halfhearted "sorry", I started calling the police. The last straw was when the guy passed out on his balcony, and the police couldn't roust him. I had to wait for his CD to stop. When I complained AGAIN to management, I suggested they chat with the responding officers for validation to my claims. Only then (after 6 months of complaints) did they actually threaten the noisemaker with eviction. I agree with other reviewers regarding garbage at the compactors, mailroom, and grounds - TRASHY!, but would like to pointā¦Ā See More>mjbset93
