Price of apartment is solid and the community is very inviting. Management is professional and timely with request. Move in was extremely easy and the apartment was very well cleaned when moving into the space.

Haven't used the system before and I'm not really planning on it. We looked on Google to find this apartment. I'm only typing this much to get to the 200 word minimum which is pretty ridiculous to be honest.

Review of The Aspen
I toured a few studio apartments with Gervon and it was great! The apartments are well maintained and overall this complex is in a great location. Gervon did a great job making me feel welcome and answering all questions I had!

A quiet community with helpful staff. Application process was simple and so was the move-in process. The property is always very clean and the neighborhood is gorgeous as well. The pool is excellent and the apartment size is great for the price.

The rent fee is more affordable considering the high prices around the area; however, this doesn't mean a low standard of quality in every sense. The facilities always look neat, the staff is very professional and kind, the unit is comfortable with a nice layout (way better than other places), and the maintenance team is always on top of every situation that arises. Highly recommended; great location, great atmosphere in every sense.

David did a great job.
David came this morning to help us with a couple of things around the house. He was kind, professional and very helpful. He is a great benefit to our community. He helped us out with the screen of the door patio and I requested assistance with the toilet and he changed a part of the water tank.

Closet Door Fixed
David was polite upon introduction and efficient in fixing the closet door. It was done under 10 minutes. He also went above and beyond by oiling the hinges of the main door, which has been squeaking for quite a while. 5 stars!

I've been a long-time resident at the Aspen and I don't regret renewing my lease. The leasing and maintenance staff (shoutout to David in maintenance!) are quick to respond to issues, and the current management has done a solid job of balancing the needs of the residents with the longer-term needs of the building and surrounding complex. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place in the Del Ray neighborhood.

Not the worse place to live but the elevator outages should be noted esp for ppl w/mobility issues; the bogus fire alarms are annoying; known water shut offs could be communicated earlier; & the lack of the quality of washer/dryer & mgmt continues to ignore or choose not to get involved or select a different provider.

It's a wonderful community with a lengthy list of useful amenities. I really love everyone who works here, and I believe that the management genuinely wants its residents to be happy. I recently renewed my lease, and I have no regrets.

It's okay. They people are nice. Issues are they work on the water entirely too much. It's always off for maintenance. There was maintenance in some pipes or something, one of many maintenance where they left my carpet a mess. I gotta get Stanley steamer to come in. The maintenance window for all the outside vendors always goes past the time and Messes up my extremely busy schedule.

Great, I like the community and overall building. however, I still have few unsatisfied comments, the laundry machine are old and usually full of pet's hair and filth, so I spend $35 weekly because I am using outside laundry. this is my main issue all the time. however, the AC shutdown many times last summer for days, and it was not very cool experience at all.

Great Maintenance
Put in a work request for a leaky bathroom ceiling after some heavy rain, was taken care of within a few days. David did a great job of it, it's difficult to tell it was ever in need of repair at all. He also threw in a shower head replacement unprompted, which was a big plus.

Mostly loved my 5 years there, but would not recommend
I mostly loved the Aspen during my 5 years, but I would not recommend it. There are a variety of reasons below, but this is a great example why I don't recommend it. After Labor Day 2023 they started a pipe project and had to shut off water on Wed. On Tue I asked if it would impact AC bc it was 100 out. I was told it wouldn't. Well, the AC broke. Was told it would be fixed in 15 min, took 5 hours. Same day, hot water broke until Fri evening when it became intermittent. Was told it would be fixed Mon, it wasn't fixed for a week. In the meantime, the middle elevator broke again. So in 1 week, we had 3 major systems go down, all which broke earlier this year and were supposedly fixed. Then in Dec, the heat went out again for over 24 hours and once it was fixed, the middle elevator broke again (and as of me writing this was still broken). One compliment I will give is to Earl. If something went wrong, he was the only person who would take initiative to fix it or make sure it was fixed right, or at least would try. Aleksandra won't help whatsoever unless you are a potential tenant. Exit doors were broken for weeks, kids got on the roof and threw rocks at people and cars, another person set fire to a flower planter using it as an ashtray, and lights around the building were out for several months (some over a year). In 2022, I alerted them bc the laundry room was so humid that the fire door warped and water was dripping down the walls. Months later, it caught fire (twice). The entire building went a month with no laundry. In 2023, a tenant threatened to assault me bc I asked him to leash his dog bc I was trying to come out with my dog. The only thing staff did was talk to him. He didn't get a notice of noncompliance for his dog being off leash and they didn't do anything about him threatening me. I was told if I wanted to pursue it further, I would be written up bc my dog is a "nuisance" bc he barks when he sees other dogs. Evidently, my dog barking is equivalent to threatening to assault someone. Not to mention the only reason my dog barks is bc he was bit by another dog in the building (and I have spent $$ on training and work with him when we go outside to mitigate it). In 2023, an elevator was out Jan-July. When it came back in service in June, within a week, it went out of service again bc it didn't pass inspection. This meant we were down to two elevators for a 17-story building (only one when the freight elevator was being used or broken, which it broke for several weeks). July 2023, the AC broke for several weeks, including when we had red alerts for air quality. They said there'd be a temporary fix, but when I asked, I received no response. This was after another major AC break a few years prior for several days during a heat wave. Winter 2022/2023, we went several weeks with the hot water and heat going out multiple times. There was little information to residents, very little notice of planned shut offs (less than 12-24 hours), and several times it broke on a weekend or at night, so it took the vendor forever to fix it. In 2020, when my dog was bit by another dog on the second floor they did nothing except demand pet rent from the owner. In the past, any dog that bit another dog was removed from the property. They have done a lot to update the grounds and main areas. That said, some of the residents do not take care of it. Someone let their dog poop in the middle of the lobby, the elevators routinely smell like pee and pot, dogs poop all over the grounds with sporadic enforcement, and trash/beer bottles are thrown around. This has been a drastic change over the last few years. The cleaning ladies are fantastic, the problem is on weekends or after the leave. I have so many other examples, but limited space. The problem is, they know the Aspen is the best you can find at that price. You either have to go to a lower quality building or pay more.

Great move in
Recently moved in to the property and the management office has been very helpful with the entire process. I was looking for an immediate move-in and they were able to accommodate this! Great communication throughout the application process which ensures an easy move-in process.

I moved in about a month ago and it has been as advertised. The staff is exceptional and Alexandria has been so helpful from the moment I took the tour. I would say I am a high maintenance person and feel I can come off strong but as mentioned the building and staff has met every need. 5 of 5
