Rented online without seeing the space and moving in this week. I was sincerely impressed by the staff and looking forward to moving in. I received a video of my new home and will update this review once I more in. So far so good!!

Overall I love this community. However many of the upgrades are cosmetic to recruit new renters while older systems due for upgrade take a long time to be repaired. I appreciate the epipe work. I would like to see the building do more work to update the gym and package/front desk situation. For example, the treadmills do not work on the manual setting even though it is a program. Also, is the coffee machine for the leasing office or the residents? Many residents leave for work before the leasing office opens and returns after the leasing office closes. Coffee supplies are out and area is sometimes messy before 9 am and after 6pm. It feels silly if I am paying for this amenity but can not use it because I work regular office hours. It also often looks dirty because of coffee spills and sugar wrappers are left on the counter. Could the concierge service this area (restock, wipe up spills)?

I have lived at The Aspen and maintenance and management are quick to handle any issues that might occur onsite and are punctual on informing residents with updates as they are needed. Communication between residents and management are very good.

Smooth and easy move-in process with friendly and helpful staff. Safe community with nice views. Was able to easily book the loading dock for moving in. And they're open until 6 in the leasing office which worked well with my hours.

The Aspen is a great older community located in del ray. The staff in the leasing office is extremely responsive and communicates well. The maintenance staff have fix all of my issues promptly. I have recommended this community to my colleagues and friends.

It is a pleasant community and feels safe. The landscaping is well maintained. The main issue is the fire proof doors that allow sound to easily enter the apts and how the doors on each apt slam shut when they could possibly be made to close differently. Most residents are courteous, but some may not be, regardless of the hour--early or late.

The apartment, community, amenities, appliances, and the management team contribute to making a great living space. There is a lot of personal preference that plays into it as well, but I have always found that good management can turn a bad community great, and bad management can turn a good community bad. At the Aspen, I am fortunate enough to have the best of both worlds. Earl, Aleksandra, and Marisa have proven they are dedicated to the work they do and their tenants. Between exemplary professionalism, competence in their profession, and great customer service, you couldn't wish for a better group to manage the property. I have called the Aspen home for the last year and will continue to stay here in the future. 10/10 could not recommend these people enough.

Generally positive, though the building has faced some challenges in terms of maintenance I feel that the management team is usually up to the task - the exceptions tend to be in specific contractors, the elevator contractor and the washer/dryer contractor have abysmal service and response times, but where they have the influence, Van Metre comes through.

Amazing Expedited Service

I have lived here with my wife for 4 years and every time there is an issue with our apartment, David comes at his earliest convenience to help us out. Whether it’s toilet troubles, changing lightbulbs, or leaks. David is always quick to act and strikes up the nicest conversation while working. The entire maintenance staff is amazing and are a delight to be around. I can absolutely trust them to complete a task with the utmost speed and professionalism.

Nice Place!

So far it's been great! I just recently moved in and excluding a late start to my move in appointment everything has been easily accessible and any issues are resolved immediately after requests (ex. a beeping fire alarm was fixed by maintenance within 5 minutes of me asking). Staff is great

The maintenance staff is great and really the main reason I resigned my lease. Ricky, David, Kevin and Cruz are all very friendly and personable. Front office are also very kind and communicative. Over this community is a great place to live.

Quality space and professional staff

My wife and I recently toured this property and were very impressed with the apartment layouts, competitive pricing, and the staff as well. Compared to other places we toured nearby, this property was very clean. Out of the 3 layouts that we toured, each unit was clean and tidy, and some of the views are very impressive as well (the ones facing the city and the Potomac are exceptional). The staff was a great balance of friendly and professional- the leasing staff made sure that we had all the numbers laid out straight, and didn't cut any corners or try to "slip things under the rug," as it were. It didn't take long for us to decide that this is the place for us, and we look forward to utilizing all of the amenities they have as well!

I absolutely love my apartment layout, space and floor to ceiling windows! My only complaints are about the on-going issues with the water which is being updated in the entire building. I also miss all the building gatherings we used to have when I first moved in. It was a great way to meet other people in the building and build community.

The Aspen

The Aspen is a great community located in a lovely neighborhood of Alexandria, Del Ray. They offer variety complementary amenities including big pool, well equipped gym, movie theater and business center. Parking and bus shuttle going to Crystal City Metro also free of charge. Management is very attentive and helpful. Our leasing consultant Aleksandra assisted us with all our needs and made our moving in process nice and easy. We are really enjoying our residency from day one.

Definitely going to renew!

I couldnt imagine living anywhere else in the dmv. The maintenance team is great and always prompt and professional. Jessie and Earl have been doing a great job operating the community despite any issues that have come up. Will definitely be renewing my lease when it is time!
