I found a mouse inside my apartment it is coming from the wall , there are several holes in different part of the apartment. in the kitchen behind the wall stove, under the air conditioning in the bathroom behind the closet in the laundry room has several holes in the wall. I made a video of the mouse coming out of my couch and going under the air . I'm so mad at this place. we got one this morning he got stuck in the glue we bought and put it everywhere. especially near the air conditioner. Well good look people.

The neighbors, staff and maintenance are great. The location is very convenient and the apartments are spacious. Thats all. The renovations were piss poorly done. The dog park isnt well kept. The pool needs updating or to be deep cleaned. There is a KNOWN rodent infestation in the building yet they continue to spot treat everything instead of treating the whole building. The same methods are being used despite a recurring issue. They need to change pest control companies if they cant do better.

Alex, Linda and Raechel from Leasing Office are very kind people, they really helped me out when necessary. Ramiro from maintenance, very kind and polite. I really appreciate the effort and willingness he had when stopping by at my apt.

Shirlington House a hidden gem on the hill in downtown Shirlington, close to everything including the bus stop, restaurants, a library and the grocery store. You will be 5 minutes to Washington DC and 5 minutes to historic Old Town. Love it!!!!

I currently live at Shirlington. They did a lot of upgrades, but at the same time raised my rent for close to $300. On top of that I pay to be able to park and when I get home from work, there is not one single spot available. It's very inconvenient and would not recommend this complex at this time.

Everything was fine but they should have front desk 24hr for some maintenance issue. Some issue never fixes it like the light outside of the parking. We dont have the light and very dark at night. I hope the maintenance will fix soon.

The newly renovated apartments are gorgeous. I feel very safe given there are 3 locks on our door and appreciate the fob access so we can enter in through the stairwell thats closest to our place. Lots of natural light in the apartment as well from all the windows.

This complex has been under renovation since I moved in, but the completed renovations are terrible. Its a very noisy environment. Plus, there is no longer a nighttime connoisseur. Shirlington House is not worth the amount paid.

Shirlington House apartments are great. They are cleaned frequently and have just included more security measures. It is one of the few places in Arlington that offer in unit W/D. Staff is helpful, however they recently removed their concierge which limits the time you can get assistance. If you have seasonal allergies I would watch out, they don't turn on the AC until later in the season. The gym is wonderful and well maintained. It is a walk away from downtown Shirlington and the bus station which is wonderful. Parking situation can get tight late at night or during holidays but is still very accommodating. Highly recommend.

I enjoy living in my apartment. I live in a newly renovated apartment, but after renovation, there were problems: 1- The large picture window in the living room took on a lot of water causing water damage in the wall. This was reported at the time the damage was noticed. 2- The lights in the laundry room and walk-in closet turn on every time someone walks in the hallway outside. 3- The new closet doors were not properly installed and jump track. They have been re-hung by maintenance multiple times. 4- The light in the kitchen often does not turn on the first time the switch is flipped. This has been reported, but not fixed. 5- This fall, mice were reported in the building. We were asked to take everything out of our closets, kitchen cabinets, and laundry room. I did so, only to come hone and find glue and snap traps in the apartment. I emailed management, was told I can get rid of traps because there was no evidence of mice in my apartment. Now, 6 months later, I have mice and have caught 4 mice.

I have been living at Shirlington House Apartments for about a year and I am going to state just the facts: Staff are unprofessional: Fact supporting my claim - I was shown a unit which was listed as available both on Shirlington House Apartments online application system as well as confirmed as available by staff member who showed my the unit. I liked the unit and submitted my application, however, later that day I received a phone call saying that unit was not available. I learned that a staff member gave the apartment to his friend instead. This was utterly unprofessional on their side. Staff are unorganized: Fact supporting my claim - After paying the first month + move in fee I expected to hear from them regarding access keys and move in instructions. Nobody called me and notified me even though I paid all the necessary fees. I had meet staff in their office to ask for the keys and move in instructions. Very casual attitude toward everything: Fact supporting my claim - Despite the fact that I scheduled a move in date, a staff member took the cargo elevator keys home with him. So I had to use passenger elevators which are very far from my unit. False statements: Fact supporting my claim - My window looks to the dumpster. Before signing the lease I was told that it was a temporary dumpster due to ongoing construction but it is not true. The dumpster is the only place where the entire building disposes of the garbage and recycling. So it is not temporary the way I was lead to believe. Staff need training in using their own system: Fact supporting my claim - I received an alarming phone call from a staff member saying my renter's insurance had expired and needed to buy a new one. This was not true, I did have a valid renter's insurance. This caused a lot of stress and misunderstanding until I went to the office to sort this out. Turns out they make a mistake while recorded my renter's insurance and instead of reviewing their own records the first this they did is to call me and cause stress. I had to sort this out, not them. Management is unresponsive: I raised all the above issues with staff and asked to speak with management. I called several times too but was not able to get a hold of anybody from management.

In a nutshell- * The Manager is incompetent no personality no customer service experience and do not return email complaints. * The Assistant is a photo copy of the manager with one exception he replies to emails. * They enter the apartments without notice no notes are left indicating why they came in. * New fob system for secured locked entry doors but your guest cannot call you to enter because the names cannot be programmed, you have to come down stairs to let your guest in. * The freight elevators are out of service for renovations until May 31st so if you are moving in plan to use the steps LOL. *. Windows allows plenty of air in they are not insulated. *. The heating and air system is turned on by management therefore if you have hot days prior to May 15th you will remain hot so bring a fan! *. No exhaust system in bathroom. *. Expect a rent increase $200 plus after initial term of lease prices are lowered to get you in after one year large increase upon renewal. I hope this helps.

This management treats the residents as 3rd class citizens making false complaints. My future livelihood is now endanger due to them doing this, as well as the future of many others who live there. My stress level has been thru the roof affecting my already fragile health. I have not recently submitted a service request not am I aware that anyone has been in my apartment. I submitted a service request in December or January, but this is March and those things are not fixed. I DO NOT want staff in my apartment when I am not here.

The apartments are a very good size for the area. The maintenance staff is wonderful and usually very prompt in taking care of any issues. Ted at the front desk is very helpful and responsive. The biggest "issues" have been from the recent remodel. The buildings facelift was a much-needed improvement, but the disruption to the residents has been significant. As the remodel winds down, those of us who have endured the constant water interruptions, dust, drilling, banging and loss of the use of our kitchens, as they were ripped out and renovated, have been rewarded with a significant monthly rent increase ($500). So, while I might recommend this apartment to a friend, it would be with reservations. The garages, which cost an additional fee to park in, still have not been "secured" for over a year. They appear to be working on this now.

View Yelp comment for back-story. UPDATE!!!! My fridge broke again, and it took over a week to be fixed. They never notified me to tell me it was fixed, nor did they tell me what was wrong. They decided to randomly change all the doors and lock them so you can't get in anywhere except the front door WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE!! How disrespectful and inconvenient. Update 3/19/2018. Construction now begins at 7:45am. If you don't want a headache, don't live here. They don't even bother to be somewhat respectful about it. Water has been constantly shut off. After 9 months of living here, we finally have some damn security on all the doors. I had a package sitting in their room for A MONTH and they had the nerve to call me and tell me they would get rid of it if I didn't come get it. How about letting me know in the first place that I actually have a package??? Grandmother had to make many calls to try and track down the package, yet the front desk said it was MY fault. They were utterly disrespectful to a point where he actually apologized to me the next day. THIS PLACE IS STRAIGHT DISRESPECTFUL TO ITS TENANTS, and not ONE person has reached out to alleviate all the issues this place had caused me.

Management makes promises it does not keep. Maintenence is not performed in a timely manner. Packages are lost on a regular basis. Security is not upkept (open garage, unlocked doors, maintenance leaving apartment doors wide open after finishing their jobs). This used to be a great apartment. Now I am counting down the days until I can leave.

I have lived in Shirlington House since August of last year and my experience has been very good. They have made a lot of improvements to the building to make it look very modern. The staff is super friendly and so are the people in the building. I live in a 550 sq ft studio and I love my space. My neighbors are relatively quiet, which I think is great for an apartment building. The building is directly across the street from a bus stop and the neighborhood is a walking neighborhood that is a five minute walk from the grocery store, movies, restaurants and theater. I am very satisfied with my decision to move here.

I have decided to move to Shirlington House due to location which makes easy for me to commute to work. However, my experience with the staff and management has been less then stellar. I was cheated out of free one month rental, i.e. I was promised a free one month rent initially which I never received. Also, the apartment I picked was given to a staff member's friend. The move-in process was also could have gone better because no communication was given to me about the process after I signed the lease and paid everything required and on the day of the move-in a staff member took the cargo elevator's key home with him so I had to use the passenger elevator which made my move-in very very difficult.

I am new so still need time to experience it. I wished that the apartment was throughly cleaned when I arrived. There were few issues like plumbing, for example my kitchen sink was plugged and it was starting to smell. It took two days+ to fix it. Otherwise, staff is really kind, polite and friendly and I appreciate that. I wonder why there is no more coffee cups available downstairs. Sometime there is coffee but no cus or vice versa.
