Shirlington House is filled with really nice and help full people. They do a great job in helping people with what ever they need. I also really love how they send alerts and updates to residents to let them know what is going on regarding Shirlington House.

I think I already made my experience known. If moving wasn’t so time consuming and expensive I would have left already. All because of the staff and intrusive construction. ///////////////////////////////////////////-////////————/-///

We will All miss the convenience store you’re removing after 20 years. I hope you bring them right back. It was a big selling point to have that and the dry cleaning as well. Love the pool and the grounds, parking and the staff (esp Rachel & Annie) are fantastic!

Excellent, Staff very Professional and Helpful. I feel safe in the building . Sorry to see the little store close. Also, would be nice to have a party room for events. Looking forward to meeting more people in the building. Would be nice to have a game night, book club, yoga and Tai Chi. Parking lot needs some speed bumps and brighter lights. People are not slowing down. Thanks

Great location if you are into riding Bicycle (Unfortunately they close the Bicycle parking). If you have pets, great place to live! You have music on your elevator! Good neighbors and event for integration.

I accidentally came across this development while looking for an apartment in the area. I was greeted well when I inquired. After the initial visit things went downhill. After I made the commitment to rent, I read the reviews. A pity I hadn't done so prior to committing. I like the unit but that's where it ends. It appears that once you sign your lease and give your deposit the care ends.

We are extremely pleased to have chosen the Shirlington House as our new home. The friendly and knowledgeable lesasing staff made the whole leasing process fast and easy. We are pleased with the many features the Shirlington House has to offer as well as its cleanliness.

Read on Reviwe on google or yelp and not bias to youself to much you have to fix and improve than hide something for this prerior. My neighbors alway smoke all day all night I have been complaining to manegment for million time notthing have been change, They are still smoke. I have to stay and sleep with that ----’s smell all night. And water always shut off more than 10 times since I have been move to this Apartment. One more thing water never hot and temperature not right. It is only warm sometimes cold if the weather is dropping out side.

Don't move here unless you only expect to live here for a year or so. Why? Because your rent will increase dramatically: the new lease they offered me contains a $213/month increase, which would bring the total increase in 3.5 years to around $450/month! The increase in rent has been accompanied by a decrease in quality. They are "renovating" apartments (while you are living in them) by installing cheap, poorly functioning appliances and fixtures and tearing out the wall between the living room and kitchen, meaning that EVERYONE who comes into your apartment can see your dirty dishes (if they aren't distracted by the cracks in the ceiling). Major maintenance issues such as broken parking garage doors take around a month to get fixed - I haven't been able to use the laundry room for almost a month because I lost my laundry card and they are out of new cards (I don't know what new residents do). The work-out room has been under "renovation" for 4 months, so it has been unusable.

Heat is off when it's cold. Air conditions is off when its blistering hot. Water is always shut off. Management is lacking. The grounds are okay. Pet friendly area. Neighbors are nice. Noise level is acceptable.

While the apartments are nice enough, when Bells Partner's took over the management of the building has declined so drastically that it affects how residents feel about living here. Bell's decided to upgrade apartments without asking tenants if they wanted the upgrades or when was a good time for them. In addition while making the upgrades the water is shut off at least once a week, which has been going on fro 2-3 months. In addition they changed the resident portal several months ago. While rent is due the 1st, with a grace period to the 5th, the portal only allows you add your bank account from the 25th-5th, so if you forget and end up paying late then you have to use a credit card which tacks on an additional service fee. The management nickle and dimes you for everything; lost pool passes were $50 to replace. While visitor parking used to be free under Bell's it's $5 for a pass per day. I love my apartment and the location but the management is making it harder and harder to stay.

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!! UNSAFE!! I just visited my mother for Thanksgiving and I am terrified for her and these living conditions. I can not believe that this apartment complex allows their side entrance doors from the parking lot to the hallway of residents to be unlocked!!! A young woman was just raped down the street from this apartment a few weeks ago and you allow doors to just be open?!? When this was brought up to management, the response was "Well, we are under contruction." Unacceptable and clearly not in code with the county. The building has also removed their promised 24hr security although it is outlined and promised in the lease.

The maintenance team is always ready with a helpful hand, no matter how unconventional my request may be. My dog loves the dog park area out back. It's a great place for him to get some fresh air off the leash.

Experienced an ongoing issue with mice. I reported the issue to the leasing office on multiple occasions. Maintenance and a exterminator treated the unit and â sealed offâ the openings where the mice could enter. Weeks later, I found mice feces on the counter. I always found the manager to be helpful. Her staff, on the other hand had major attitudes and acted as though you were a problem if you reported a problem.

I love my studio apartment & it was in my budget. However there are other studio apartments that tenants pay the same as me. They are 450 sq feet & they have a ceiling fan they have a foyer with wood not to dirty the carpet. My studio has a jolt in the wall so I lose 2 feet of space all over. it has no ceiling fan & when I'm cooking my alarm goes off, no vinyl or wooden foyer to wipe your shoes when you come in. My apartment I keep spotless & these things I'm complaining about might sound little. But I'm paying the same as other studio apartments in this building. Thank you!

Great location, but have been having a lot of maintenance issues with the building - the air conditioning system throughout the entire building has broken multiple times this summer, the water gets shut off for hours while they perform upgrades, and one more more elevators breaks pretty frequently. It's great that they're making an effort to make cosmetic upgrades, but overall the building in a structural sense feels extremely rundown like it hasn't been well maintained at all.

I have had more issues with the new management company than the previous one. The apartment itself is fine and I like the location. The maintenance team is usually responsive and fixes any issues within 48 hours.

This has become the worst apartment complex in Arlington. If you're reading this then I advise you to look elsewhere. The management and probably the company bell partners is the worst ever. The charge people fees after they move, they don't communicate between each other and then flat out lie, the maintenance is subpar, they only focused on renovations that would bring in more money instead of actually improving the community, the freight elevators don't work and my wife got stuck in it multiple times. Mice, roaches, and fruit flies. They mixed up our parking spaces that we paid for multiple times, threatened to tow us, and when they changed their portal they removed the ability to pay with bank account so now we have to pay with credit and charges fees. Water ---- off all the time and no heat during cold days DONT LIVE HERE the only reason we're staying is cause our dog had surgeries

Renovations were tough on all of us for various reasons. There were lots of issues with parking and water shutting off. Folks were living in apartments as they were being renovated. There was lots of dust everywhere. The Management office was not easily accessible. It took a long time for the Fitness Center and lobby to be re-opened (although it is very nice). The food store is still not open. I think many tenants were disappointed that rent was raised sharply this year while they see signs of free rent for new tenants. There is a somewhat more negative feeling among tenants now from when I first moved in.
