I visited the site last week and really liked it. I just rented here and looking forward to having a good stay. The apartments are well maintained and the grounds look good but most importantly the staff is very friendly and genuine. I had a problem with my bed and the mainteance guys helped me even fix that, that says a lot about the team. the leasing people are very friendly. They just hosted a thanksgiving dinner and the entire team was cooking, laughing and having fun. This says a lot about people who care. I recieved a call from the office after 3 days of moving in to check on me. I love the hotline. Its so convenient. My neighbors are very nice. Parking is a little tough especially late at night but everything else has been great so far. I am looking forward to staying here for sometime. Cheers.

Lots of community events. We live in the townhome area, and we don't have to worry when we send outside to play. Have met good people and enjoy the area. Parking can be a bit tough, but that seems to be a common theme on the east coast from my experience.

After 11 months Im ready to move out of this overpriced sham-just put in my 60 day notice to vacate today. During the day, as you drive into Fairfax Sq. @ Van Metre' things look fairly nice for a dated apt. & townhome communtity. The Property Management do a good job "buttering Up" the main drive in and around the rental office, but around all other not seen areas they slack. Landscaping, Leaves during the fall, Dog poop everywhere, ciggarette buts, and trash from all the immature college kids this place rents to. Parking here is a Joke past 5:30pm and some ppl grab the visitor spots and even handycap spaces leaving there assigned places open for friends and quick drug buying drop offs. Parking spaces are also lined way too small- i bought a new car this past March and already have mutiple dents and door scraches on BOTH side of my Car- I park along the main drive more often- and some of the driving impared residents who lack the skill of parking tear up your bumpers, just cant win with the parking here. Towing enforcement Sucks too! thats just the Exterior issues I have- Moving into the buildings- Cheap under insulated walls and ceilings, you'll hear thumping & banging and every fart & cough. Drafty doors and windows adding up your energy costs, i can feel a cold draft as i write this. they charge way more for the Water bill than you actually use. Numerous plumbing issues. No SAFE storage places ( they can rent you a Chicken coop for $25.00 more a month) any kid with a pair of wire cutters will have your stuff- No THANKS! Cant keep anything on your balcony (but a plant) or you'll get letters and Fines. Don't even BUY A GRILL if you live HERE! Cant have them within 100 miles of your door LOL- Basically you can pay a lot of money per month but your not really LIVING here.... a lot of added stress from the management and Property issues and strange mix of people living among you- LOOK ELSEWHERE! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND A FRIEND TO LIVE HERE. PEACE FFX 2 IM BUYING A HOUSE AND SAVING MORE $$$$

Living in the Fairfax Square town houses has been the absolute worst experience I've had since moving to Fairfax. First of all, we were told we would have no one living above us- in reality, we had 2 other town homes above our tuck-away town house. Since moving in, I was woken up at all hours of the night by banging from a town house above us. This banging got so loud I thought it was thundering. When the upstairs neighbors moved out, I only had one night's peace before maintenance began 'renovating.' The worst part is that I don't even feel safe here. During my first month here my town house was burglarized while I was actually inside the house! The next month my bedroom window was shattered, making me feel very targeted. I called the main office for both incidents, but when we went to the office to talk about it, no one had taken any record of either!! I cannot wait to leave this place and would not recommend this to anyone.

One of the most important things I look for when selecting a community to rent at is the people managing the community since they are the ones to turn to when you are having a problem. The team here is the friendliest and responsive I have ever experienced. Our AC broke down toward the end of the summer in the evening and maintenance came to resolve the issue within one hour of my phone call. This is truly remarkable since this is a fairly large community with probably well over 500 units. The following day Dan H. from the office called to verify that our unit was in working order and if there was anything else we needed. Dan has been most helpful and even went out of his way to call Verizon for me to help get a question I had answered. This is a great community that is very safe, has a nice gym and pool and is close to the CUE bus line. Definitely the best choice in Fairfax.

My experience with Fairfax Square Apartments has been less than satisfactory. Parking is impossible unless you are parked for the day by 3 in the afternoon and do not leave on weekends. (Having six college students (all with cars) in an apartment in multiple apartments per building occupies all the available parking spaces. The response to garbage disposal, freezer and dryer difficulties was as long as you don't use them for intended purpose they work fine. Can not use garbage disposal for onion, egg shells, tomato, coffee, meat or any food it works fine. Dryer works fine if you dry one item at a time for three/four cycles (hours))...freezer fan can keep unit cold if only a few items are kept in freezer. Heating/AC unit not correct size to heat or cool apartment. One room in three bedroom unit receives all the heat and ac. The tenants below smoke on their balcony so my apartment absorbs the second hand smoke and constantly smells of cigarettes even though we don't smoke. Needless to say my experience at Fairfax has been extremely poor-I would not recommend this housing to anyone. They do make frequent routine maintenance and inspection calls-(not sure what they-don't think they show up half the time). A notice is left at your door evening before they expect entry into your apartment giving you no time to prepare or make adequate arrangements for pets. Most vents (especially screws) phone and cable jacks were painted over so verizon technician had difficult time connecting cable and phone. Look carefully before committing and insist on seeing actual unit you will reside in. The apartment we rented was unavailable for inspection prior to move in date and we were just shown a similar apartment.

We have been living in Fairfax square since 9/2011 until 9/14/2013 and we moved to another apartment in the same complex even though we find places around with lower rent and flexible procedures. All this did not make us change to leave Fairfax square apartments because of the following reasons: A nice and cheerful organized management and staff (synchronized network) Nice and clean environment Transportation accessibility to anywhere All facilities are available MHO

I am happy that do to an unforeseen event I have to move. Everything happens for a reason and I am happy that I am leaving soon. I lived in the complex for a year with a roommate and I liked the location of the apartment complex and the apartment itself is fine for your basic needs, nothing lavish. However, events that have occurred that have shown that the office staff do not care about the safety nor the well being of the overall apartment complex. There have been several incidences but not to bore you with all of them I will list one. Around 3am I heard a popping noise outside followed by loud voices. I woke up startled and it took me a while to realize that they were shots coming from a pellet gun. I have bad vision ( cannot wear contacts overnight) so I could not see exactly where they came from and I didn't want to step on the balcony in case the situation was worse than what I believed. Also living on the top floor sounds from the ground does not necessarily mean that it is coming from the apartment directly under you. It quickly became quiet and because I was half sleep I fell back asleep. When my roommate and I realized that morning that we heard the same thing I went to the office to complain. Instead of acting concerned that residents were firing pellet guns into common grounds from their balcony or deck they told me I had to go to a person in my building the leasing office designated. I am a young woman, just finished my undergraduate degree and I was told to go to a complete strangers place to voice my concern. It could also be the resident who caused the event. There have been other incidences have had the same results, the office not responding to concerns regarding health and safety. It is not worth the money to be wondering which of your neighbors would do reckless acts and the management feeling that they have no responsibility nor duty to act.

Great place to live! Very comfortable facilities; pool, gym and the club house is great to hang out. I was very pleased with the help of the leasing consultants and you get emails on any kind of warning if anything is going on. I highly recommend it if anyone is thinking to move in here!

Fairfax Square Apartments is a great place to live! Everything you need is here. They got a gym, swimming pool, parks, and everything else in terms of recreational areas and shopping areas are right next to you. The apartments are pretty clean and the landscaping is quite gorgeous. They also have a nice management team. Sarah Ahmed did a fabulous job of explaining all of the intricacies of the financial and documentation procedures for leasing an apartment. She's also very friendly and is always there to help you out with anything.

Great place to live in Fairfax. As a grad student at GMU I was looking for something close and comfortable for a couple years. I ride the CUE bus into campus and the bus stop is only a couple minute walk from my place. I transferred to a larger apartment to add a roommate last year and the office staff made the whole process very simple and painless. Maintenance is very efficient and have taken care of all my issues in a timely manner. I have referred a couple classmates in the past and will continue to refer in th e future. Cheers!

We are staying here in a furnished apartment for a short stay while our house is being remodeled. The apartment was furnished very nicely, clean and comfortable. The office staff were extremely helpful in getting us in and settled on quick notice. They always make the extra effort to ensure everything is to satisfaction. The grounds are maintained to perfection and maintenance issues addressed quickly. I would definitely recommend Fairfax Square. Location is great.

This is a great property with an exceptional staff. Everyone at this location is always smiling, helpful and friendly including maintenance. As a resident for the past 3 years, our experience has been most pleasant. The grounds are well kept and the units are well maintained. Yes this is an older property; however, all issues I reported over the years to maintenance have been resolved very quickly. Stephaine is a great leasing associate who helped us get settled into our most recent unit. She followed up and made sure we were comfortable and everything was to our satisfaction. The leasing manager, Donnie Edwards is an exceptional professional who goes above and beyond for his residents. He answers emails and returns phone calls very promptly and is willing to make time for his residents to address any concerns they are having. My husband had lost his wallet and Donnie went out of his way to help have the wallet returned to my husband. We are most grateful to live in a community that offers a high level of professionalism and customer care!

My family and I moved here from Ohio 2 years ago and we couldn't be happier! The office staff have always gone out of their way to make our stay here nothing but the best, maintenance issues are always fixed right away, the pool parties and the resident events are always a blast and the schools are definitely top of the line. Everyone here is so friendly and we would recommend this community to all!

I am a current graduate student at GMU and I have lived in Fairfax Square for the past 2 years. I have a bottom level with a terrace door that makes life much easier for things like bringing in groceries and taking my dog outside. One of the main reasons I moved here was because I have a Husky and most properties will not allow this type of dog. I was very happy to find such a nice place that didnt restrict my dog. I use the fitness center every day and I cannot wait for the pool to open this summer. My personal experience has been positive, when my family comes to visit they are comfortable also. I got lucky and have great neighbors, my last place in Fairfax had loud people above me and made studying almost impossible. The maintenance team has been quick to fix all issues over the past couple of years. This place is great if you have a pet and like to be outdoors.

This apartment is a dump. Thin walls. Loud neighbors. Dog crap everywhere. Whole building stinks like garbage. Roaches. Crowded parking. They charge like it's a luxury complex, but it's a low down dump. Don't move here.

I have lived in the same townhouse for more than 3 years now and I love it. We have become fast friends with the neighbors and the staff. We enjoy community events and the staff has helped us organize Easter Egg hunts and Halloween events. The convenience of being right down the street from a multitude of different outlets is unparalleled. We have had some maintenance issues, but the work orders are quickly routed to the team and they are fast and courteous and resolve the issues. Honestly, despite some of the other comments, I have never heard my neighbors. For anyone looking to be in a good location, with great schools for a fair price, and good quality, you're not going to find much better, and we've looked.

I have recently moved into Fairfax Square and all my experiences have been great thus far. Sarah is the leasing office is amazing, she is quick with communication and really went out of her way to make sure everything went smooth for my move-in. If you come to tour the property ask for her-she's the best. So far so good with parking and maintenance-haven't had any issues yet.

I've lived here for a year and I can definitely say stay away from this apartment. Living here is like living in the middle of a market in Marrakesh I've gone through a year of loud/rude neighbors, bad maintenance issues, crappy parking, and an all around bad, bad living situation. First off, the walls are thin. As I write this review from my bedroom, I can hear my neighbor on his cell phone. Every word, not just a muffled voice. I've never lived in an apartment that is so poorly insulated. You feel totally exposed with zero privacy. I get woken up at 5:30 in the morning from my neighbor's TV. And the thing is, he's not being excessively loud! He's just doing his thing, and I can still hear EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. Believe me, hearing your neighbor in the bathroom is an unsettling experience. God help you if you move in next to someone who likes loud music. Second, the parking lot is a nightmare. If I get home after 6:00pm, I can't find a parking space near my unit. It may as well be street parking in a busy downtown neighborhood. They DO NOT enforce parking rules here, so you'll be hiking from your car to your door most nights, while the cab driver and the maintenance van and your neighbor's girlfriend all get a spot next to the front door. People drive like maniacs through the lot. Just keep comprehensive insurance on your vehicle, that's all I'm saying. Take a look at the kinds of cars in the lot, that'll tell you everything you need to know. Lastly, the maintenance. It's bad. Every month that I've lived here, I've had something go wrong. Whether it was a big thing like the HVAC, or something small like the lock on my front door. I didn't go one month without something falling apart. They don't take care of the carpeting here and I recommend demanding they replace it before you move in if you're foolish enough to rent here. When an apartment manager has to send out a notice telling people not to flush all kinds of crap down the toilet, that tells you something. Do yourself a favor and find another place, even if it's 10 miles farther from your job, or $100 more a month.

I have lived here for the past 2 years at Fairfax Square and I have enjoyed my apartment and the community. I use the gym frequently and the pool is great in the summer. It only takes me a few minutes driving to GMU which is the main reason i chose this place. My neighbors are friendly and my apartment is comfortable. No real issues to comment on at this point. Plan to be here 1 more year until i am out of school. I would refer friends to this community, especially if you have pets. There are a couple parks close by which are great for walking and relaxing.

I love it here. The apartment is great and everyone is really nice. The lady that works in the leasing office is the sweetest. I think her name is Sarah. Very calm and relaxing environment. Their customer service is great too. I had a problem with my oven and they came to fix it within minutes.

I have a great experience living here at Fairfax Square. The Maintenance service is awesome, they work with you to make sure everything is OK in the apartment. The leasing staff are very efficient and friendly, they get out of the way to assist you. . The reason why I moved here was because here is one of the few places that is pet friendly and I have a big dog. In general, Fairfax Square has been taken good care of me

Moved in to find a few issues, but all were taken care of quickly. The apartment was clean and freshly painted when I moved in. I've never had parking issues but that may just be my location. It can get noisy, but having lived in other apartments before this, things are not much different. Great experience with the staff.
