I have lived in Tyson's Glenn Apartments since 2005. The grounds look good and the customer service is good too. However, the apartments are older and need better insulation. Also, you should consider replace existing hot water heaters with tankless water heaters.

    Overall, good for the price. We were misled by leasing office about a path to grocery stores and restaurants, which are about a mile walk away. There is no walking path in winter time or when it rains. I stayed home sick one day and was told to deal with overhead construction noise, which kept me from resting. Maintenance staff is excellent.

      Tyson's Glen is a great place surrounded with terrible tenants. The noise level here is by far the most atrocious, horrible, awful experience at any apartment complex I've ever seen. That's the primary reason why I will never rent from another AJ community in the DC area. When moving in, I raised the noise level concerns from these reviews, and the staff responded that it was a "reasonable concern" but that most tenants only had issues once a week with noise levels. I've heard my neighbor's dog, drums, and TV every single night since I've moved in. Every other footstep is a slam. Some night's, it's impossible to get any sleep. If it wasn't for the noise, it might be possible to live here, but as far as my experience goes I would never suggest it to anyone. I'm considering terminating my lease and paying to get out of here sooner. As far as maintenance goes: I've had a ton of problems since I've moved in (lighting, walls, electrical outages, appliances) but almost all of them have been fixed very quickly, so kudos to the team. Parking at nights heavily depends on your local area. George C Marshall is harder to find spots. The back-side of Mohegan is usually fairly open, but if you have a lot of units near you, the worse it gets. I have had very little issue with parking since I've moved in, but can sympathize with those on the further side of both streets. My best suggestion to anyone moving in would be to find a top-level corner unit. If you have anyone above your unit, realize that you are willing to risk never having a good night's sleep for the rest of your lease. It's absolutely not worth it. I would suggest NEVER taking a basement unit at this complex.

        The management staff, leasing agents, and maintenance staff all do a great job in responding to any issue that arises. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and care about the quality of life for the tenants who live here. The property is peaceful, and clean, and the facilities are modern and well-kept. The most recent manager, Josh, was especially terrific at his job.

          This is a great location close to everything you would need (highway, grocery, shopping). You are also located about 10-20 minutes from the two main airports of DC. The staff are very helpful and available. I have so much space in my apartment and for this area that is hard to find.

            I found this place good for living with family, very nice location and office staff. Amenities are also good and well maintain. Less noise, good atmosphere and child plan area is also very spacious. Since i moved in this society, i feel quite comfortable.

              The maintenance staff is amazing at this community, they have handled every request we've had in a professional and competent manner. The management staff really seems to go out of their way to make sure that we are satisfied, and they check in regularly after requests are completed, closing the loop. I highly recommend Tyson's Glen.

                I like the experience I have so far at this community, it is very good and it is a place to live in peace. Of course you should have an average income as the shops around seems a bit expensive. The smile you get at the reception sometimes does not match with the service they provide. I mean the smile is sometimes more than the service. I believe at list it should be equal even if it is not more.

                  Tysons Glen is a nice apartment / town home community. I have Lived there since 2015. It's convenient to shopping and main roadways. They have 24-hour maintenance number so even before the office opens I can call in an issue while driving to work in the early morning hours and know it will be addressed before I get home.

                    I love living at Tysons Glen! Having an apartment that opens up right out onto the street was not only convient for moving in but has been convenient for having large items delivered(e.g. furniture). The community grounds are well taken care of and I feel like I'm living in a small, suburban community, which I very much prefer over the highrise style apartments that are more common in the area. It's a clean, comfortable, safe community and I couldn't ask for much more than that!

                      Neighborhood is split between townhouse-style apartments along and inside loop with traditional 3-story apartment buildings around the perimeter. Moved into a town-house style apartment from a 1-bedroom unit along the perimeter and have had a very positive experience. The unit was newly renovated with faux hardwood floors on the main floor. Additional renovations to the kitchen with stainless steel appliances, tile flooring and soft-close cabinets. The community has been established for a while but the newly renovated units compete with the new high-rise apartment building springing up in the Tysons area.

                          A huge source of stress and frustration living here has been getting maintenance requests taken care of. We had several issues with our apartment when we first moved in, including clogged pipes, a non-working dishwasher, and the lock on our bathroom door was backwards. It took many visits to the leasing office over the course of a month to finally get the pipes and lock fixed. We were told that we'd be receiving a replacement dishwasher but it needed to be ordered. Around this time we also had multiple yellow jacket wasps coming into our bedroom daily through an external vent where the hornets had built their nest. It took over a month of hounding the leasing agents before anything was done! We started getting stung and bitten by them!!! Luckily we are not allergic, because this is an extremely serious health and safety concern. Not that anyone even bothered to ask if we were allergic or not. Before we started getting stung, their solution was to spray the nest with brake cleaner because "the wasps don't like the smell". Well we also don't like the smell, which leached into our bedroom much like the bees. What a HUGE disregard for our personal health and safety! After the smell dissipated (probably 2 hours time) the hornets were swarming the vent again. When we inevitably got stung we reported it to the leasing office the next morning, and it was finally taken care of after several more days of waiting. The outside vent was sloppily and unattractively covered with a black netting. 4 months after we moved in, we still had no dishwasher and our shower water stopped getting hot right as the weather started getting cold. We submitted these requests online (one which was a re-submission of the dishwasher issue) and waited for a week but nothing was done. Once again we started making visits to the leasing office to see what was going on since a week without hot showers was brutal. We were told multiple times over multiple visits to the leasing office that our requests would be "put on the top of the list". One would assume that this meant they would be the next requests to be completed; however, after each visit we waited another 2-3 days and still nothing was completed. We tried every possible communication route we could think of to try to get these requests completed. We tried the online maintenance request portal. We tried countless visits to the leasing office. We tried submitting handwritten paper copies during said visits. We even left a long, detailed account of our issues on the property manager's voice mail which was unsurprisingly ignored. When we finally did get our new dishwasher, the hot shower water issue was neglected completely which prompted even more office visits and finally a threat to withhold our rent until the issue was completed. We were without hot showers for a total of 2 weeks after submitting the requests, and are outraged that staff did not consider this a high priority. On top of all that, the quality of the work was sloppy. We were left with huge scratch marks on our kitchen floor from the oven being pulled out to reach the water heater (which, I'm guessing, will be deducted from our security deposit). There were several brand new dried plaster blobs on the floor in front of the kitchen sink that were hard and sharp but we were able to shave them down so it's no longer painful to step on. On multiple occasions items have been left behind resulting in--you guessed it--more visits to the leasing office to drop them off. We would also like to emphasize that we were never left any sort of notice of what work was completed or even that our residence was entered. The first time this happened we informed the leasing office that we would like to be left a note when our apartment is entered with a description of what was done (this has been standard protocol at every property we've previously rented from) but nothing changed. It's a shame that the maintenance process here is so abysmal since for the most part we have enjoyed living at Tyson's Glen in our 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment is very spacious for the price, and we love the extra outdoor space provided by our patio. The property itself is a short drive from great shopping, restaurants, and grocery stores, yet the location makes it feel very secluded from the crazy traffic and noise of the nearby highways. The amenities are nice as well.

                                I'll start with the positive feedback: dog friendly, clean common space/grounds, great location, decent price for area, and nice neighbors. The one thing I don't think can be controlled by Tysons Glen is how loud our neighbors walk above us....it's loud! I want to like it here because of what I said above, but unfortunately we have had nothing but a terrible experience so far and tonight is my breaking point. After a lovely weekend of finally feeling settled in our apartment (after a HUGE list of problems - see below) I took a shower and when I got out the hot water would not turn off. We opened the wall behind the shower to turn off the water, and it STILL would not turn off. We have lived here for 1 month as of this coming Wednesday, October 8. Do yourself a favor, read the list of problems below and then decide on your own if you want to go through this hell. If you don't enjoy moving into an apartment that is not ready the day you arrive, having many issues come up while you are trying to unpack in your new home that keep you from being able to unpack, showering for 7 days without hot water, being treated extremely unprofessionally and rudely by the company's Director of Residential Properties who only offered us "a onetime $100 credit for any/all inconvenience due to the delay on our move in day" - even though there have been issues far beyond the delay on our move in day...and now NOT BEING ABLE TO TURN OFF THE HOT WATER IN YOUR SHOWER, then stay far far away from this place. List of problems we have experienced since moving in: -Apartment not ready when we arrived causing us to come back 4 hours later -No hot water in shower for 7 days -No carpet in den -No working dishwasher -The apartment smelled like paint because it had been painted that day -Had no microwave at all -The patio sliding screen door was off track (and is off track already again) -The front closet door fell off tracks -There's paint splattered on the bathroom wall tiles (and this is still there) -We had moldy bathtub hardware -Closet racks were improperly hung without anchors, and fell out of the wall while trying to unpack -The sliding patio blinds were falling down -The toilet flusher was not properly installed causing water to spray out the back of the reservoir -There was an open tack strip in the linen closet, which we stepped on in bare feet As I mentioned above, on top of all of these issues we are now waiting on emergency maitenance to arrive on a Sunday night to fix our hot water that won't turn off in the shower, instead of cooking the nice dinner we were about to prepare. Lovely way to end the weekend! The executive team of this company has been useless in this entire situation and sent us an email where they said "I have completed a full in depth investigation of all issues you have brought up to our attention as well as had a meeting with a team. I strongly believe that we have gone above and beyond to assure that you residency at Tysons Glen is enjoyable" - they never apologized, and they could not even pick up the phone to call us. Then when my fiance called, they were extremly rude to him. I work in the customer service industry and find this treatment to be absolutely appalling. The property manager has been very friendly, and so have all the maitenance staff that we have interacted with. If they were all in charge of deciding appropriate compensation for this hell then maybe we wouldn't have such a sour taste in our mouths. We have a 1 year lease and really hope things will get better from here on out because the people around us are friendly and it's very dog friendly. Everytime I think everything is fixed and am ready to move on and stop being angry something else happens....

                                  This apartment complex has a significant noise problem. I have complained repeatedly about my next door neighbor blasting their music and the issue has not ceased. Neighbors are also outside after ten p.m. yelling, talking on the phone loudly, or blasting music from their car. One group of neighbors stayed outside from ten p.m. to about three in the morning. I have been woken up repeatedly by these issues. Other than the noise issues at this apartment complex, I do love the property. The three bedroom town homes are of great size for their price. Overall, the price is one of the best in this location for what is supplied with these apartments. I wish the noise issue wasn't so persistent and wasn't so seemingly ignored.

                                    Keeping in mind I just moved in, I am beyond happy with my choice to be here! The staff, in particular Patrick Lee have been amazing and I am looking forward to living here and making it my home. I think if I had to choose one thing I am not super jazzed about it would be that the noise level of my upstairs neighbor is a bit annoying however not the worst I have ever dealt with.

                                      I have very much enjoyed living at Tyson's Glen. I feel safe and it is reasonably priced. I generally have nice neighbors and the office staff generally respond quickly to requests. My only complaint would be all of the broken down cars in the parking lot that take up spots in valuable parts of the parking lot where there is high demand for spots. It would be great if those unclaimed vehicles could be towed.

                                                The office staff are really great here. They are very friendly and eager to help with any issues you may come across. They hold community events, and everyone in the complex is very friendly. Lots of dog walkers, and a sense of community. I'd definitely recommend it.

                                                  I have lived here since Fall 2012. Staff is generally friendly & helpful. Maintenance does fix things when requested. I do not have a recently remodeled unit but am happy with it. For the price in Tysons it is a good deal. Leasing office puts on a handful of functions, typically geared towards children.
