While everyone is nice,...
While everyone is nice, problems don't seem to get fixed until they are pointed out. Management needs to be more proactive about addressing issues & when they promise to do so, to follow through.

So far everyone is nice and friendly to my children. We like being close to town and so close to everything as well as my husband's job. We also like the set up of the apartment.

Nice, lovely and quiet pretty much. At least for the two weeks I have been in here. Probably not too long to make a judgment, but so far so good.

Overall the experience...
I have had mixed experience in the community. On one hand, I enjoy the location, and apartment complex amenities. On the other hand, I would like new appliances in my apartment. Since I have been a resident for 8 years, I think it would be nice to have a new stove. Also, the quality of residents have varied across the spectrum-a couple of years we had grad students, and career professionals, then things went downhill with construction crews living in one townhome and a brothel running out of an apartment. Fortunately both situations have changed. I hope Tysons Glen continues to attract grad students and career professional.

You can hear EVERYTHING...
To sum it up, IT SUCKS. Management sucks, maintenance sucks, quality of the house sucks, neighbors ----- parking sucks. There's bugs, cigarette smoke coming in the house, heat/AC never work right. Windows leak air. No insulation. You hear the neighbors and the whole place shakes when they SLAM their door. IT SUCKS. Management lies, maintenance is incompetent and also lies. We can't wait to move out.

whenever I had problems...
whenever I had problems with the apartment, I never experienced delays in the fix. The technicians and the office managers are very friendly and helpful. The apartments are little outdated, but I have been happy with the services I get from this community.

The apartment is basic...
The apartment is basic (we got one of the unremodeled ones) and fits our needs. Staff at Tysons Glen are extremely friendly and helpful. This includes the guys who fix things as well and the peple at the office. They are great. Neighbors seem nice. Sometimes it takes a long time to fix things when you call in a work order. Also, there isn't enough space in the recycling bins on the weekend.

The experience has been...
The experience has been ok, poor communication with the office staff (I asked to be notified when maintenance comes - hardly ever happens). Neighbors are really loud - can hear the tv and talking, but this is somewhat expected in an apartment. The plumbing in the building is pretty loud too. Overall an ok place, but would recommend a townhome to cut down on the noise. Also there were bed bugs in my room when I moved in and the office has not been very accomodating in providing a place to put all of my stuff while the fumigation is happening. I have to remove all clothing, linens, electronics, and anything that can melt from the apartment and I was told to leave it all outside and take my cat to a kennel for the day.

Great location. Parking...
Overall, we are satisfied with our experience at Tyson's Glen. Kids-friendly, dog-friendly, convenient location, helpful staff. Our particular apartment has not been updated, and it somewhat affects the quality of life. There is also a concern about an automatic price increase if renewing the lease. I hope it will be possible to resolve this and we will be staying for another year.

It's quiet and safe. ...
It's a safe place, it's well maintained. The staff is great. The walls are thin, you can hear talking and can actually hear snoring at night.

Bed Bugs!!! I paid rent in Devonshire Square for two months, but only spent five nights there. The management were nice and helpful and the apartment looked great, but was completely invested with bed bugs. My roommate and I discovered that bed bugs are a relatively frequent problem there. The management assured us that the heat treatments they usually do work, but they did not work for us. We lost thousands of dollars, and the corporate office, A. J. Dwoskin was very rude and completely ignored our requests to meet and be refunded for the rent we paid. Again, the management and staff at Devonshire Square were great, but the corporate office has the real authority, and they were terrible. Dozens of painful bed bug bites and losing most of our furniture and belongings was what we got from our time at Devonshire.

Lived here for 3 years and only moved out because we purchased a home. As far as value, I will say that when we moved in, the rent was much better than when we moved out. We had various promotions, etc. that kept the price below market rent. Due to the economy, high occupancy, by the time we moved out our rent had increased to more than we would have liked, however in a difficult economy, it was completely understandable and we wouldn't have done better anywhere else with the location and amenities we had at Tyson's Glen. Location was great, shuttle service to the metro was a major plus, and their pet policy is reasonable as compared to others in the area. Never had an issue that wasn't reconciled within 1 business day. All in all a great place to live compared to anywhere else I've lived in the area. Safe community, well kept up. Office staff was always willing to help out. Would certainly recommend Tyson's Glen.

No Consideration for your peace of mind
If you enjoy being able to sleep-in on weekends and be able to get up and enjoy quiet time, DON'T MOVE HERE! Never have I lived in a place that allows construction to begin before 8 a.m. and today at 8 a.m., they have men removing and shredding tree branches. I'd like to ask why can't this be done Mon-Fri during the day so they do not disturd their tennants time at home? IT'S BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CARE!All they care about is getting you in here with promises and BS then forget it! After you are here you are just a number and they DO NOT CARE! I read the post about the mice and high water bills which have doubled for me in 4-years and it's all true. I can tell you also that even though I really, really have wanted to move these past two years the cost of moving has kept me here because at the time of my renewal I have had health issues that have prevented me moving and I'm guessing that the people who have been here for several years are here not for the love of the place but because they simply do not have the resources to move and this is not a good reason to stay anywhere, I guess it's the same as being in a terrible relationship only here it's with the people you rent from.

Looking for opinion on mice - April 2012
I am planning to move here in April 2012. Just as I was applying, a woman walked in and complained about the holes mice have been making in the house walls. They were probably digging through from underground. The apartment I was looking at is at floor level. The woman also just extended her lease for the seventh year! I would like to know if anyone has had such experiences. The unit I am thinking of moving into has hardwood floors. Thank you!

The longer you stay here the more you get screwed
When you first move in here they treat you as if it means something to them that you choose their community for a home. After a few years they increase your rent, raise the water prices, and take away the incentives to stay. People moving into a 2 BR TH can get the TH for $1,795 per month and someone living there for 4-years is paying $1,995. They focus on keeping every unit full, not their tenants being happy. If you decide to move here make sure you really understand how you pay for water because you DO NOT pay for what you use. A single person living in a 2 BR pays more for water in a qtr than a family of 4 living in a house both in FFX area. "And" Yes Energy can add whatever fees they like, as often as they like and since you are tied to an unbreakable lease...they have you. Too many people with barking dogs too make this a very noisy place to live, not to mention the thin walls which let you hear your neighbors pee...if you plan on staying here, consider what you will be paying in the future so you can plan accordingly.

Great Place To Live
I lived at Tysons Glen for almost one year as I had a project in Bethesda that turned out to be short term. The property manager and his staff were very professional and the 1 bedroom I had was clean and comfortable, not to mention I never had to worry about leaving the expensive items in my vehicle like you would other places. The apartment was nice and close to bike trails and attractions in Washington. Never had any issues with nieghbors, noise or pests, everyone there was so nice. If I ever have another assignment in that area this is where I would want to stay, it felt like home. Falls Church reminded me alot of Blacksburg just bigger its a nice town.

Am I stupid?
I would have to be if I even thought of renewing my lease. Noise, bugs more noise. Do you like heat in the winter? So do I that is why I wish I had some. Place stays cold no matter what temp you have it set at, and continues to blow cold air when the "heat" is not even on. Managment and staff cant seem to fix the problem. Honeslty, if you value sleepin, heat and your skin (bug bites) keep looking.

If you are ready to move in yr
Like to to give balanced review When i moved in new customer . they had decent deal for 1 yr lease. apartment has shuttle service to metro which is a plus. maintenance staff are very prompt and helpful. I stay in floor level unit.. bugs are problem.. i guess due to extremely heat or cold they tend to get into the unit.. Parking is problem.. they have marked several ones as reserved parking.. so you got to pay extra if you need dedicated parking space. Walls are really thin.. u can hear you neighbors whatever they are doing.. we have neighbors with dogs.. and they keep barking all the time.. we have small baby.. it scars hell out of him..so if you need quite place.. basic flaw in construction of this apartment makes it extremely noise if you happen to have neighbors with dogs and general noisy neighbors. They market tennis courts are close to apartment in nearby school.. but its under construction or something is going on in nearby school so forget about playing tennis gym is really small.. gym in devonshire location is much better as yoga room and also better equipments Last but not the least.. after year they say they are planning to match market price.. and moved 1bhk apartment which i was paying 1305 to 1600. I guess in nearby locations for 1640 or 1600 i can definitely get 2bhk apartment.. so basically they hike the prices for existing tenants so high you will be forced to leave.. i am not sure if some sort of strategy whether they gain anything out of it.. but be prepared to move after yr.. because your price increase to stay next year will be crazy..

POOR QUALITY
Rent is completely unreasonable - especially for what you get. There are bugs everywhere - even though they supposedly spray once a month. Management has a problem responding to requests or doing what they can to help you. I had my car towed (when there was a parking sticker in the window) and they refused to refund my money. Also, the unruly dog upstairs - has been there for months, and nothing has been done. I would not consider this a nice place to live. The "gym" is not worth your time. The only perk about this apartment is the location - but really, it's not worth it. Stay away..you'll save yourself many headaches.

Nice Place to Live I have no complains
I want to be honest I had been living in Tysons Glen since Oct/2010 I am a single guy renting one bedroom apartment (650sq Feet). I have no complains at all I do not understand this ratings the only problem I have is the upper apartment noise that's all. I am leaving for a rent increase that it was only of $100 a month and I am looking for something closer to DC other than that I would had stayed. Bugs I had never seen a bug other than the traditional Summer bugs that get inside when you leave your door or windows open. Its quiet well I leave at 6:45am to work and I am not sleeping all day as some unemployed people who live there and complain about the noise. I had never had a problem related to hot or cold weather. Since all units have independent controls I can keep my apartment at 72 degrees. Nice place for people who have Dogs I think that 3 out of 5 people there have a dog it hasn't been a problem for me. The location is ideal 7 minutes drive to Tysons Corner Mall, 6 minutes drive to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. I will miss this conveniences. And the best thing plenty of parking you don't need to pay the additional $25 for reserved parking. I wish you the best Looking for a new apartment is not easy and is a decission it has

Dont do it
Looks upscale and nice on the outide with a new commons area but that is where it stops. Sure the place looks nice and clean upon move in, but thats where it stops. Slop some paint on the walls and culk up the bathroom and they are good to go. Bathroom tile sticks to the bottom of your feet and comes removed from the floor. Bugs everwhere. And if you like noice this is your place! No sound insulation whatsover, I could litterally here my neighbor snore at night. Floors above you creak evertime someone upstairs is walking. The managment company tries to tell you that "this is normal apartment living" whatever, I cannot sleep any later thna my neighbors because as sson as they get up and start walking around you the noise begins. Really, its that loud!
