We've been pretty happy here and are in our second year. Our townhouse was new in 2011 and it's bright with great windows. There's plenty of parking, although I wish we had a gate on our area. The staff is very pleasant and has been responsive to our inquiries and issues. Kadie and Jonathon in particular are outstanding. The only problem I have with the apartment is the carpet-it's very low grade and has worn out quickly. Living with other people has been interesting. It frustrates me to see people leave their garbage outside the compactor or not clean up after their pets. I consider that a matter of personal responsibility, not management's fault. Other than post cameras outside the trash area, I'm not sure what they can do. Overall, though we're pleased.

this place is straight garbage and by far the worst apt i have ever lived in ,it should be condemmed.I guess this is the best herndon va has to offer.I have lived in many states with apts alot cheaper than this one and have had less problems,everything brakes down and i hate it here.For those thinking of movin to this particuler location,i would advise you to think twice and take heed to the negative comments bcause evrything you hear is true.Save your money bcause this place is a money pit,and people are moving out in droves only to get new suckers to move in. id give you a list of problems with this place but it would take a while. i also hate blogging but im at my witts end with place and felt compelled to let others know,and if you dont believe then come on down and rent an apt and you will soon see the truth and they dont give a ----.

i just want to take the time to commend the management team that is in place now. i have been here for a little over 7 years and i have seen the staff come and go. i appreciate the customer service that the staff gives and even if unsure of an anwser they go the extra mile to get the correct answer. the maintenance team definitely does their part in trying to keep the residents as happy as possible. woodland park i must say that i am a happy camper here and will remain a appreciated resident. thank you for all you do! My community captain has been a blessing to have as my community captain. Whether I call or email her, she always responds right away and takes care of everything! She is always pleasant to talk to and has made my stay here a great experience.I will refer friends and family, and I also plan on renewing my lease. Everyone has their own opinions and mine is that I love living here and don't plan on moving anytime soon.

I've been here for awhile and really find it interesting how people have so much time to cut this place down. Move out already if you are so unhappy. The parking isn't as bad as it seems, the office staff is fine, the maintenance team busts their butts; especially Farid! I'm happy to call Woodland Park home.

I am picky and eclectic in my lifestyle. Before i decided to rent out an apartment with Woodland Park, i toured a few rental communities in Herdon and their prices were very steep and unreasonable. In this day and age with the downward spiral of the economy why would they even charge such unreasonable astronoimical prices. Anyway, i choose Woodland Park because of the location and dollar amounts for their rentals. The only drawback so far is that maintenance is not prompt with addressing issues but they eventually fix it in the long run however, most of the leasing consulatants are very personable and professional.

When my husband and I initially contacted Woodland Park Apartments, we were greeted by Kadie Luben. From that first contact we immediately was impressed by her exceptional phone etiquette and professionalism all around resulting to our lease shortly after to the community. Three years and two kids later we are still happy and proud to call Woodland Park Apartments our home. The staff here is exceptional! There is a lot to do and our favorite activity here is to attend is "Happy Hour." There are so many great things here to do and we are just thankful and to call Woodland Park our home. We are very excited and interested in purchasing from Van Metre's home plus program that Kadie has shared with us... We look forward to many more great experiences with Van Metre. I am always referring my friends and family to their properties. Excellent staff and place to call home. Thanks.

Staff is awful. They post fake reviews all the time on this site when their rating gets to low. Look and see the contrast and obvious patterns for yourself. It is pretty sad. Instead of trying to make things better they exhaust all of their time and energy into praising themselves under false names. There are some seirious issues with this property and it goes way higher than the leasing office. Avoid these apartments at all costs. Move into a community of leaders and problem solvers rather than a community of lazy frauds.

i have been living at woodland park for almost a year now. the worst experience i have had was the parking but i can say that the office as resolved that issue with allowing the towing company to take charge, now i no longer walk two/three blocks just to get to my home. the office staff have been a pleasure to work with and the maintenance responds in a timely manner. i can definitely say that they have changed my mind from moving out. so as i approach renewing my lease i can say that woodland park will have me for another year. i just hope that the services i have been receiving doesn't disappear. thank you woodland park employees for doing a great job!

The Asst Property Manager, Christine Whatley is extremely professional, provides excellent customer service and is extremely knowledgable about the property, the location, very helpful with identifying floor plans (which I love!), the residents, addresses immediately all concerns, maintenance needs, and is an excellent host of the community activities. I have lived several places and this is the first property that immediately addresses all of my inquiries and maintenance needs with complete service repair within 24 hours. The property is well kept, the floorplans are attractive.

Living at VNWP for close to 1 year has been effortless. Aside from the minor mechanical issues in my unit - which have been addressed in a timely manner, to the occasional annoyance of not finding a parking close to my building after midnight - I really do not have any major issues or complaints. It's a great place to live all in all, very close to everything that I frequent. I can see myself living here for a good while longer.

I moved in a little over 6 months ago. My move in experience went really smoothly. The leasing agent that I worked with was very patient with all my questions and concerns. I am happy with my apartment and its location. My neighbors are nice and quiet too. Parking can be troublesome at times. I do get frustrated with the trash area, as some residents are just too lazy to use the compactor correctly. Maintenance is quick and always respectful. Overall, I am very satisified with my decision to live here at Woodland Park. My community captain is great and always handles my questions with kindess.

I have lived here for about 5 years. I stayed much longer than anticipated primarily because of the location. It is super convenient and much less than the cost of ownership for comparable housing. Early on, it was rough, because the only thing that rivaled the apathy of the management, staff, and maintainence was their incompetence to actually get anything done. The entire management, most of the staff and maintainence were turned over about a year or so ago, and the difference is tremendous. There are some of the staff who are still useless, but the key management people and a couple of the staff are good and you are better off dealing with them directly. The parking situation is much better, and was one of the first things the new management team addressed, with much effectiveness. They have also put an emphasis on more community events. Maintainence has been much better, but sometimes you do have to follow up and deal with multiple attempts to fix. However, when things need replaced, they do replace them. Also, don't a be --------- to the ones who actually will get things done for you.

I have been living here going on three years in Ocotober. The only reason why we are leaving is we are getting a house built. But, I love living here. My community captain is Christine and I love her. She makes sure if we need anything fixed in our apartment it gets done in a timely manner. She has a great sense of humor, and welcomed us with open arms. They dont have any roaches or bug problem, the whole staff and the community is very sweet, the apartments are clean and tasteful,in a safe enviornment for kids, what else could you ask for.

I've lived here for some time and it's horrible. My washing machine has been broken for about a week and no one has come by to even look at it. Don't move here. It sucks. Parking is horrible unless you pay the extra to have a reserved spot.

I initially had reservations about moving here after reading some of the reviews but after having lived in the community for a year. I can truly say my stay at Van Metre Woodland Park was a great experience. From the time I moved in, the leasing office and the maintenance staff were highly attentive and very responsive in addressing any questions or issues. The property is well maintained, the gym and pool facilities are fantastic and I always felt very safe which is important for me as a single woman with a dog. Thanks Van Metre Woodland Park!

I will not renew my lease here again. Tooooo many things gone wrong over 2 years. From maintenance not fixing problem issues the first time, to several leaks through both the floor (ON A GROUND UNIT)and the ceiling. Lost packages (plural), from the first year that I lived here and yet again. Both times same result, "we're sorry, nothing else we can do." I stay here simply because of the location, but now that isnt even enough to get me to want to stay here. Too bad I have another 9 months. If you want to see something positive, at least the staff is friendly. Beyond that no reason to stay.

Look elsewhere before committing to a lease!

Parking is awful and there is not enough of it, plus people have no clue how to park straight in a space. Noise from adjacent unit is totally intolerable and management does nothing about it even though I have complained in writing several times. Resident sits on balcony smoking and shouting into his cell phone all night. I would love to break my lease but there is a 2 month penalty in addition to the high rent. Units are small and not worth the money, plus you have to take their internet and TV service even if you want it. On the positive side, the maintenance staff is very good and they keep the property in good condition. I can't wait to move out.

Arrogant neighbors and visiting relatives hang laundry over balcony

My neighbors have given me hell since they moved in. Noise anytime of the morning, fighting, walking like they are 2 ton elephants, visiting relatives left at home during the day to do the same. They also hang their laundry over the balcony. This place is truly turning into a slum ( as someone as said) I guess they have similiar. The ------ looks appealing at least you will not have to pay 1800 plus for a two bedroom I dont think my team captain cares---- I was made to move from my 4th floor-- understandably-- my neighbors have turned my stressful life into a living nightmare--- and no matter what they do they seem to be able to talk their way out of it. Well maybe a judge will listen!!!!!!!

A peaceful living community

I wanted to write this review because i desire to get the word out to those prospective residence who are thinking about moving to this Beautiful up keep community. I have been a resident here for over four years and saw alot of positive changes, I am so graful that I had decided to stay and renew my lease. One year ago they had change therir whole staff which i was so happy they did The old staff honestly did not care about their residence all they cared about was their pocket and what they can get out of you, promises, lies ect... Fortunately at this time it's been nearly another year the new staff have been professional caring and provide outstanding customer service anytime you have a question or problem they are quick to assist you, the maintanace crew quickly resolves any issue you may have in your apt home better than that they work on Sundays and fix what ever needs to be done. I enjoy living here everything is close by great schools such as westfield high school, my son was appointed to the Air Force Academy last year June and my other son may be entering as well staying in a peaceful safe enjoyable environment as Wood Land Park Apartments has benefits for your children and adults of all ages. I highly recommend living here people are friendly and the staff here really cares they go the extra mile to assist your needs.

Worst Leasing Staff in Northern VA

PROS: Location CONS: Staff is incompetent Maintanence does patchwork Grounds littered with cigarette butts and dog crap Parking is not enforced Gates are broken every other day Trash compactors are overfilled and unattended to Office does not keep track of packages Rent is too high for average apartment living Walls are thin No choices on TV service Staff is rude and I get the feeling that I am bothering them when I need help or request something Ban on specific dog breeds Management allows solicitation and I receive at least one menu in my door daily Staff posts fake reviews on this website periodically to fight the true reviews...just look and see for yourself IN CLOSING: Stay away. I wish I would have paid more attention the the red flags. You have been warned.
