The first time I came here, I was very happy but then the series of issues began. The taps would start leaking every 2 months, the door knobs are a joke. Internet is crap. Connection goes off every 15 minutes and no matter how many requests you raise, its still the same. You may put access instructions on your work order but none is followed. I have issues with shoes on carpet (I sit on the carpet) so i always request maintenance guys to either take off shoes or wear booties (disposable shoe covers), but nothing works.... The worst night mare began last month when I saw RAT/MICE in my kitchen. I raised requests and talked to the admin guys but they are not willing to accept that there are rodents. I mean why would I lie...... No one enjoys maintenance guys coming over to their place and turning everything upside down to see if there is a rodent.. They simply just don't care and are down right rude. Anyways today... I saw rodent in the pantry area and took pictures of bitten food packets etc. Today also these guys were fighting with me that there are no rodents and when i showed them the proof, the only thing they have to say is wait till Wednesday and then someone will come to see..... Is this a joke to the admin people. Having rodents in kitchen area is a serious health hazard and makes the place inhabitable. Instead of trying to understand and resolve the issue, All these guys are doing is being extremely rude.... Last month we also had a insect infestation; again in kitchen area. This is a bad bad place to be in.... Do yourself a favor and do not rent here.

I have lived in woodland park for 3 years. This place is very nice. Very good location. It is very close to shopping plazas, restaurants, and so many facilities. (school bus stops right by the complex which is very convenient for families who have kids). It also has an easy access to toll road and route 28. The staff are very friendly! They are always on top of things and they keep you posted about new things and they always follow up with you when you have an issue or comments. This is great. Maintenance has a quick turn around time when you place a work order. The property is well maintained and very clean. I loved the size of the bedrooms and the layout of the apartment. My only concerns: 1- Parking. There were not enough parking spaces. However, this issue has been resolved by enforcing the towing policy and they are under the process of assigning parking space for each unit. You can also get a reserved parking space for a little bit extra money. 2- I used to have some Internet and cable outages. This also has been taken care of by a recent upgrade to the cable and net equipments. Since the upgrade I never had any issues. Overall, I am very satisfied and I do recommend this place for others.

Move-in process was easiest I've been through to date (and we have moved a lot). Very friendly, efficient, and professional staff members - every time we've had a question or feedback, it's been handled positively and with speed (including maintenance requests, general community questions, etc.). Great community atmosphere, and very quiet for being so close to so much.

Woodland park has a great value to a customer. It has a great location and fitness center is good. Beside that, office staff like Kathleen Garcia and Elly Sutton does great work for us to make sure that everything is running smoothly and has no issue within our apartment complex. Great environment to live and enjoy...

September 6, 2016 I have been a Van Metre resident since 2009. It has been a great place for to live. Convenient to the shopping center areas close by my job. The property is a safe. Never had no problems at all. The Property Manager Claire Adams has been exceptional with customer service and always open to speak with you if there is a problem. She has the grounds looking wonderful. The Leasing Manager Reggie Ziesel-Morris is also great. He is very professional and always get back with you regarding any problems and concerns. The property is beautiful always kept very nice and I love living here. The Gate Attendant Dennis Tchagou always makes me feel welcome when I enter and leave each day He always has a smile on his face and a very positive attitude. That makes Van Metre a great place to live. I plan on being for a while. I recommended people to live here. I just recommended someone to move in on the end of September 2016. I am going to keep on recommending people to live here. Keep up the good work

This apartment complex is a cesspool of rude unprofessional staff. The five stars reviews are all made up by the office leasing staff. Just imagine what can done if they actually use the time to properly manage the apartment complex. They normally throw rowdy resident events, where some of the staff get drunk and belligerent. The major issues are: 1) the building construction was poorly done, very thin walls 2) they normally wouldn't explain all the charges due on your account and will send you a repulsive letter to evict you if you do not settle your balance. 3) their ISP is HORRIBLE! Mediocre service at best. 4) property manager always hiding in her office when i have requested to see her. 5) Dirty grounds. Dog feces everywhere. Need i say more. STAY AWAY FROM WOODLAND PARK!

Even before we moved in, I was suspicious of how cavalier our "leasing consultant's" attitude seemed to be about the fundamental matter of just how much we were expected to pay for our first month's rent. Our leasing consultant threw out several figures, but didn't quite seem to know for sure exactly how much we were to pay. She figured, it seemed, everything would "work itself out." About six days after that, we received a snotty letter from the front desk, informing us that we owed an extra couple hundred dollars - and that if we didn't pay immediately, we'd be subject to eviction proceedings. Note that the extra couple hundred added up to one of the figures our LC had more or less blown off deciding on. We most certainly would've paid in advance, had we known what the ACTUAL rent for the month was. I'm not used to being threatened or treated like a deadbeat, and I don't appreciate it - especially when I'm not the one who hasn't done my homework. Just after moving in, we also discovered there was an ant problem in the kitchen, dining room and living room (i.e., the entire main floor). Our leasing consultant encouraged us to work this problem through our "community captain" (great title, right? Not at all 1984-sounding). It turned out that, despite having had over two weeks to get our place ready for move-in, Woodland Park hadn't seen fit to spray for bugs after the last (evidently messy) tenant moved out. A few days later, we figured it'd be a good idea to start checking our mail, but as it turned out, our LC had misidentified our mailbox. When we asked her which mailbox really was ours, she said she didn't know, and effectively communicated that she didn't particularly give a crap either, as she suggested we basically go around poking our mailbox keys into random nearby mailboxes, thus figuring out which one was ours. Our LC also neglected to tell us that the electronic key fob that lets you into the gym after the building closes is different than the electronic pass key that gets you in the front gate. She also failed to tell us that there's an additional charge for the gym key fob. Once inside the gym, you'll find that probably half the treadmills don't work on any given day, and the TVs mounted above the treadmills only work about half the time too. Which brings me to the piece de resistance of the epic fail that is Woodland Park: Hotwire TV and Internet. As a former Comcast customer, I'm well acquainted with horrible customer service and questionably-legal, monopolistic business practices. But I remain stunned whenever I consider how much worse Hotwire's TV and Internet service are at Woodland Park. For one thing, Woodland Park forces all its residents to use Hotwire-provided DirecTV instead of cable - so you get all the fun of having service disrupted whenever the weather's bad. Also, for the last few months, we've been treated to multiple Internet outages, all lasting 24 hours or more, and several requiring us to take time off work to be here for the Hotwire "technicians" to show up and figure out what they've managed to screw up this time. I will say I'm curious as to exactly what kind of kickbacks Woodland Park and/or Van Metre are receiving from Hotwire. They must not trickle down to the front desk worker bees, because the one time I asked a friend to leave some event tickets for me with the front desk - as I'm supposedly able and allowed to do - the front desk chick later said she had "no record of receiving" them. I suspect somebody had a fun night out for free, courtesy of my buddy. And anyone who says the walls here are "soundproofed" is either deaf or working for Woodland Park or Van Metre. Bag this place. Bag it hard.

This place is overpriced. If you are trying to get out of leas, you have to pay 90 days. They do not even try to sublease your apartment since you are under the lease commitment. Avoid them if you are not certain you are going to stay long term. they even charge you for $75 cable even though you handed over the keys and you are under the lease commitment.

The staff at Van Metre, both office and maintenance, are very charming and receptive. I can't express how much I love our apartment! It fits all of the needs of both my fiancé and I! The community feels very safe to me, and I never have a moment of doubt walking from my car to the apartment at night. The only qualm I have with the community is the disappointing Internet speeds provided by Hotwire. It makes it very hard for us to do the things we want to do! Especially at the same time. Sometimes the equipment in the gym squeaks loudly when in use- which can make my workout less enjoyable- but the facilities and amenities provided are quite nice! Christine, my community captain, has also be very attentive by sending us both emails and letters to the door in order to check in with us and ensure our stay has been beyond satisfactory. Bravo, Woodland Park!

I am so impressed with the Van Metre Woodland Park apartments. The staff are responsive and kind and they make living here so enjoyable. I feel completely at home and am glad I chose this community over local competition.

The leasing and move in process was so easy. Lesson staff is so friendly and we feel right at home. We love the idea of the community captain and contrinued communication from her and the community to make sure we are satisfied and kept informed.

Hats off to the property manager, assistant property manager and the entire maintenance staff at Woodland Park. I have lived in many upscale apartment communities over my lifespan and I must say that woodland Park ranks #1 due to the staff, their professionalism and their responsiveness to any concerns raised. I was skeptical at first but my doubts were quickly erased because Katie is a person of integrity and is willing to do what it takes to make a residents living experience here exceptional. Christine is superb on follow-up and taking a pro-active approach to ensuring that things get done properly and effeciently. These two are the reason we renewed our lease and are looking at maintaining our residence here until we are empty nesters (hopefully in two more years).

Elly Sutton, our leasing agent was wonderful. She went out of her way to ensure we could get the keys late on the day of move in and had everything ready for us. She also ensured that we were well informed about the process. A few essential things were missing in the apartment that Elly ordered for us. Rest we had a wonderful time. We would come back again next year.

This will be my 4th year residing at Woodland Park Apartments and I love it. I have no complaints, if/when we need appliances fixed or any other issues it is handled promptly. Christine Whatley has been the most attentive community captain. She is very professional, friendly and accountable. I appreciate that she takes time out of her day to make sure her residents are happy and not in need of anything. I will be happily renewing my lease for another year.

I have lived at here 2 years and i have not had a bad experience thus far. The office staff is courteous and very helpful. I have never walked away feeling neglected or regretful for moving here. The maintenance staff is reliable and efficient, each request I have had has been taken care of either immediately or within 24 hours. I really appreciate their community captain program, it gives me a sense of belonging, I hear from her at least once a month unless I have a maintenance request, then she follow ups with me immediately after work is completed. I plan on renewing my lease here for yet another year and have referred friends and family which I received referral bonuses in return (quick and easy way to make some extra cash). What does disappoint me about living here is the neighbors...do not clean up after their pets (then why have them), they leave trash all over the compactor area instead of putting it inside. All I can say is just pure laziness. I am not to fond of not being able to choose my own cable provider but I just deal with it because it does not turn my life upside down. Anyway, Woodland Park I thank you for your kind service and keeping me a happy resident! I look forward to spending a few more years here until I am ready to move back to florida. Look forward to more referrals from me as well.

I moved to Woodland Park because they were close to my job and the inside of the apartments looked better than the other communities in this area. I was nervous because I have read some negative reviews about the internet provider but coming from someone who needs good service for work, its really not bad at all! Like any other community it has it moments but I would refer all of my friends here. If you like nice appliances and granite try to get into the newest built section.

My brother lived here a few years ago and so I thought I would check it out. I've been here now for six months and I love it! The community is so well kept and they always work so hard when it snows. I am thoroughly impressed by the staff and their receptiveness to my needs. My community captain, Elly is really personable and makes me feel like a friend and not just another tenant. Even when I come by and she's not here, all the rest of the staff make me feel welcomed. The apartment I stay in is nice. The ceilings are high and bring in a lot of natural light. My husband has found our second bedroom to be perfect for all of our needs. He has a big desk, and a mini-photo studio inside! I'm always excited to invite our guests here so that I can show off my place. It's also only 5 minutes from work for the both of us. Super convenient! I also love how close it is to Harris Teeter and Shoppers. I definitely recommend the Donuts at Shoppers. Anyway, all in all it's a great community. Some small things here and there, but nowhere is perfect, am I right?

I am getting ready transfer out of Woodland Park. I loved it here for my grandchildren. The townhouse was really nice with full sized washer/dryer, pool that is opening today and nice play area. However since I moved in with my family a few weeks ago I am having problems with the stairs. I find the office staff exceptional and kind and the maintenance staff polite and quick. I had to find a place with few steps. So I was very happy to find that another Van Metre apartment Fairfax Square just happened to have a ground floor three bedroom with few steps opening up and a great view out the windows and french doors with 1400 sq feet. Nice size. I am a disabled Navy veteran and it is hard to do stairs. I did look around the GMU area and Annandale but found my best rental with great price and great quality again at a Van Metre community Fairfax Square. I had excellent service here and am sure there i will have great service there also. I would love for others to be happy and content where they rent. So please look at all the Van Metre apartments in the area and i am sure you will find one right for you.
