Really pleased.

I'm really happy here. I had the pleasure of having Prince as my leasing consultant throughout my leasing process. Prince was incredibly responsive, very understanding, approachable, and a huge help from the minute I first walked in the Woodland Park door. The whole staff has been great, the move in process has been as seamless as possible, and overall I could not be more pleased with everything I have experienced. My unit was very clean at move-in and as a whole I was extremely satisfied.

Overall,I have had a good experience at this community. I've had a couple of issues with the unit but maintenance took care of the problems in a timley fashion. I've had a good experience with fellow residents and the staff has always been courteous. Only real complaint has been the internet and television bundle but this has greatly improved recently and is only getting better.

Wow!

Wow! Where to begin... from the second I arrived, the beaming faces and friendly demeanors of the staff persons was a comforting sight to my new accomidations. Moving from across the country, it was very encouraging t be given such attention and courtesy. I only hope that others may be so fortunate in their moving experience! I give 5's to this community all the way around.

Content and satisfied

I am very happy and contaent here at Woodland Park. Things have been going well since I moved in and have even met some of my neighbors. I like the area and how I can get anywhere Ineed within 10 minutes. It is a nice community and a very good area!

Been here for years, and plan to stay

I have lived in this community for several years and am very please. The office has been very helpful. The maintenance team will answer and questions to the work order before arriving, but will rush on emergency calls. I plan on renewing my lease for many years to come.

Great community, great company.

I was introduced to the Van Metre Company through the Brooadlands community and they refered me to their sister community in Herndon, Woodland Park. I decided to lease through Woodland Park due to it's proximity to my office. The management team at Woodland Park have made my experience so far wory-free. Both the office staff and the maintenance team have been very responsive to my needs. I recommend this community, and company, to everyone.

Ex resident...somthing good to say here

I lived at Van Metre Woodland Park between 2008-2010 and boy did I have my share of complaints during my time. I posted three negative reviews based on parking, garage, and cable issues. However, while I'm glad I moved, I recently had an issue that showed me there is some good with the Van Metre people. Sears had some sent expensive equipment I had ordered to my old address at Van Metre that I needed for Memorial Day weekend. I called the lease office and Lola I believe answered the phone. She was extremely courteous and helpful tracking my package down. At first they didn't have the package in the mail room, but when the current resident of my old apt dropped it off she remembered and called me back. This totally made my day. When I showed up to pick it up and very sweet front desk girl (can't remember her name) helped me immediately and I was out with my package in less than a minute. I understand all the frustrations I read about on here from time to time, but in this case Van Metre did something noble. Thanks!

NOT Recommended

There a few positives about this place, but i also have a lot of negatives. I would not recomment this place to anyone. Before i actually moved in and looked at the apartments i was happy and excited to move in. But then once i did i started disliking this place little by little. The FIRST week i moved in..i had roaches.. i only see a few here n there. I called the office immediately and they had someone come spray the place down a few days later. About 2-3 after that i had stop seeing them. The walla are extremely thin! I hear everyone running up n down the stairs, the people above me are absolutely obnoxious! It seems like they never sleep and have wild animals running around up there! The staff..well they're ok, they are nice n help you out when you need it if they can. There is NEVER any parking at night during the week. If you get home after like 9:00pm you're pretty much screwed on parking. I got home from work at 11pm one night ..let me remind u i havent even lived here for a month at the time..and there wasn't anywhere to park. I drove around this place for at least 10 mins and couldnt find anything. so as a last result i parked in handicapped - come to find out an hour later i have a 572$ parking fine. I went to the office and complained about not having any parking and they couldnt do a damn thing about it. Which this is a gated community you would think residents that live here have a guaranteed parking spot - without having to pay extra. I went back to office again and complained and they refused to do anything. I think the rent is too much for this place. I pay $1100.00 a month for a 1 bedroom 1 bath, and it's an "AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNIT." That's not very afforable in my book. I'm barely making it. No utilities are included in this except their cable and internet. We didn't really have an option weather we wanted their services or not. Also, they're "business center" isn't much of one. They only have computers in there. No copy machine, no fax machine, no printer. So you can only use the computer but can't print or do anything else unless the staff is there and you use they're stuff. Oh not to mention, I'm on the 3rd floor and it gets soo ho in here! i had my air on in march because it got up to 84 degrees in here, with my fan and windows open!

Stay away - WORST property

It's just a worst property, I'm moving out next week from here. Too pricy, rudy stuff, too much noise, walls are ultra thin - I can even here my next door neighbours when make love, sneezes. With much less money, you will get much better aprtment in Herndon area

May not be right place to chose to live

It's the worst apartment in Herndon area. Too Pricy, apartment are not maintained. Very noisy neighours - I can't wait anymore to move out from here. I would request apartment hunters you can get much better value of your money. Parking is a complete nightmare, if you come after 8:30pm in the evening, then almost no chance to get a parking spot in the apartment community. Maintence is total nightmere, most of the times they don't send over anyone, take avdanvtage of resident in day time mostly in offices.

Just Moved Out...and DAMN, am I Glad!

My review is quite short. Anything negative that you see posted here is undoubtedly written by actual residents. Anything positive you see posted here is most likely written by staff member of Van Metre. I would never even consider living here again; even if they offered me free rent for a year. The neighbors are terrible. The apartments are shoddily built and not maintained. The office staff and even the upper management is worthless. Even if you have to double your commute, take it from me, you DON'T want to live here.

Horrible Place, Horrible Neighbors, Horrible Office Staff...STAY AWAY!

I have lived here for almost a year now, and I have already put in my notice to vacate. This place is WAY overpriced for what you get...and what you get is an apartment with paper-thin walls, loud obnoxious neighbors, and an office staff that couldn't care less about you (once they get you moved in). The disgusting family downstairs from me cooks curry goat or something similar every night, and stinks up the complex. I can't even open my windows, because I don't get fresh air, I get curry goat odor. The people above me stomp around, and have a horrible, misbehaving child that runs and screams inside the apartment all the time. At any given time, when you take your trash to the dumpster, many of the trashy, scuzzy people who live here have just thrown their garbage bags on the ground around the dumpster, rather than putting their trash inside the dumpster...but, I guess if you're scum, you don't mind living in filth. I really don't know how most of the repulsive tenants who live here can afford it, because I can barely afford it and I bring home a 6-figure income. Oh yes, the security gates...what a freaking joke. If you live here, you can't get in half the time, because the gates are stuck shut...then, other times, the gates are standing wide open. The office staff don't give a crap about anyone but themselves. Once they move you in, and get their commission, they drop you like a hot potato. There is a crappy little weasel named Tom, who will lie, cheat, and whatever else it takes to move you in...then don't bother calling him for any help, because he won't return your call. Oh, if you don't have pets, you might as well, because you step in dog ---- everywhere outside. Not that I blame the pet owners, because this stupid place never has bags in their little poop stations, so what is a pet owner to do? I can go on, and on, but suffice it to say, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME...STAY AWAY!!!

Stay away!

I live here and can't wait to move out!!! For the price you can get so much better. I can't believe how much I'm paying to live there. If it wasn't for the few months left on my lease I'd be out!!!!. If you live under someone, good luck getting privacy. How about the parking after 8pm...good luck getting a spot. I've parked across the street an Harris Teeter several times. The security gate is a joke and should be torn down. Even tenants get jammed up at the gate because it won't open; useless and frustrating. Again, the price...what a joke.

I have had fun living at Woodland. I don't have any complaints about the management, or the maintenance. I am not planning on living there when my lease is up, but I would refer this property to my friends.

Management is wonderful

I have had a very good experience with the management. I will definetely be renewing my lease at the end of the year. I have referred friends to this complex. The maintanence and the general feel of the complex is a pleasure to be around.

Complex is fantastic!!!

I have had a wonderful experience with Van Metre at Woodland park. I have always recieved a fast response from the on site management and any maintenance issues that I have had to deal with have been dealt with quickly! I would definetly refer this complex to my friends!

internet is bad

Network is good as long as you don't have a problem. I faced pretty hard times when I need to VPN to my office and the network keeps breaking and I needed to login every time. MDU, the only ISP for the apartments, has one of the worst support. They don't support if you have a router. Apartment staff are very courteous in listening to the complaints but there is no outcome of your complaint. You want to rent here if you .. 1) don't use internet or don't own a router 2) OK with dog poop on the lawns where your kids want to play 3) want gps stolen from your car 4) can wait for service for the 9am - 4pm time slot provided 5) can walk .5mi when you come late at might and cant find a parking near by 6) want one part of the apartment cold and other hot

Whats the deal?

I really don't understand why people have been writing such negative comments about this property. I have lived here for going on 6 months now and have been very pleased. People need to start using this for the purpose it was created... to give prospective tenants your opinion of the property, not use it to personally attack the office staff. I have been very pleased with my apartment. Upon move in it was exactly what I was told it would be. The staff and maintenance has been very helpful to me. Any issue I have gets taken care of in a timly manner. I plan on staying at this property and renewing my lease when it comes up.

Let Me Tell You Just How Fake The Positive Reviews Really Are...

I know an employee for this company, and she told me that they are encouraged to routinely log onto this website, using fake usernames, and web-based e-mail accounts that they create, and write false positive reviews of van metre properties. Is it not painfully obvious anyway? Just look at how many of the positive reviews are written on the same day. 3 or 4 positive reviews of these apartments in a row, on the same day. Come on...do they really think people are that stupid?
