out of control
since new management took over, conditions have deteriorated. 1. Outside people are allowed to use pool and other facilities creating an unsafe condition both safety and health-wise. Numerous vehicles are observed on a nightly basis waiting along street to follow a resident through the gates so they can use the pool 2. grounds upkeap has deteriorated. 3. type of people being allowed to rent are less than desirable. 4. rules are not enforced. 5. minors are allowed to do what ever they want. 6. nightime strolls are at your own risk due to increased outside trespassers and criminal element. 7. trash dumster is used by outside people to dump unsafe substances and other garbage, dumster is always overflowing. 8. management is unrespondant to legitimate issues and panders to those who do not follow rules we all are expected to follow and to sign on our lease. 9. many residents use their garages as junk storage rooms and decrease the number of available spaces for guests. 10 many use their patios for storage. The place is out of control.

Home Again!
After 30 years in a house, I was nervous about moving into an apartment. Creekside is home and more! My unit is very spacious, with washer and dryer, attached garage.Gated community, dog friendly, beautifully maintained grounds, clubhouse with a workout room are just a few things that I love about living here! The staff is professional. Immediate attention is given to any repair, usually the same day! The office management is very friendly and is on site willing to always be ready to answer or help you with anything you need. I would highly recommend Creekside for anyone that wants easy living! Love the location! Easy access to everywhere!

Bait and Switch Con Artists
I would not move here if I were you. The pulled a bait and switch con on us. We were suppose to move in, they had cashed our check and everything and 9 days before our move in date they called us to tell us that our apartment wasn't going to be ready but if we wanted to pay $120 more a month or $1,440 a year more we could move into a bigger place. We asked them nicely for some more options/solutions and every one of their solutions came back costing us more money out of pocket for their mistake/problem. We tried talking to every person we could and made it all the way up to the VP of Graystar and he turned it around to make it seem like we were being un-flexible and trying to scam them. IT WAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD! It would be like you reserving a rental car and getting to your destination and them telling you that they just gave their last car away but if you wanted the upgraded version you could pay $100 more a day. Needless to say STAY AWAY from this place unless you like to get conned. They are just a bunch of heartless JERKS!

Overall pleased
I was overall happy with Creekside. The staff is friendly and helpful, including the maintenance guys. I really loved having an attached garage and a big bath tub! The floor plan was very open and its nice having newer appliances and doors/moulding etc. The property is gorgeous with a great pool. Not to mention the location is great! The fitness center is quite disappointing though. Its very small and has a poor choice in weight equipment. As with any apartment, the noise from neighbors is quite annoying. I also lived above the garages and those are loud opening and closing. Lastly, parking on the south side of the complex is terrible and fills up quick.

Quiet peaceful living in a beautiful environment
This apartment is everything I was looking for. It is as close to the mountains as you can get in Highlands Ranch and I can actually see them every day! My dogs are excited to view the wildlife from the balcony and there is plenty of space to walk them. We are greeted daily by neighbors and the friendly staff who ask if there is anything they can do for us. I feel like we are welcome and appreciated, which I have not experienced in every previous neighborhood I've lived in (including single family neighborhoods). Even the birds are friendly here (and very curious), and the abundance of wildlife adds to the quality of life. The staff impressed me from the first time I toured the apartment complex in November 2010, and they continue to win me over. They are knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, friendly and professional, which is is difficult combination to find these days in apartments. (They enjoy being here too, so I am sure that makes a difference.) The management is always visible on the property and ready to assist. Maintenance staff is also visible on a daily basis, and they are very responsive to maintenance requests. Everything has always been repaired to working order and/or new condition. Inside, I rarely hear my neighbors due to the excellent floor plan designs and building insulation, and everyone I've met so far has been considerate and cordial. The dogs and I love it here, and I have been recommending it to others. I can honestly say that deciding to move here was the best choice I've made this year!

Not terrible, but major inconveniences
I've lived here about 3 years. I managed to get a top-floor corner unit, and it's quiet except for when people are in the stairwells or there are cars driving by. I've heard that noise can be a problem in the lower units because of the garages and thin walls/floors. They allow pets, and dogs up to (i think) 80 lbs can be on the top floors (for a $400 fee and $25/mo). My dog is 50 lbs, and my downstairs neighbor likes to constantly bang on the walls when my dog walks across the floor, which is kind of difficult to avoid, so my opinion is that he should have picked an apartment that wasn't over a garage and under another apartment. I'm not loud and never received any complaints before he moved in, so I figure he's just grumpy. The residents are decent; there ARE some who don't pick up after their dogs, so be prepared to step on dog poop in the dark when you're trying to get the mail or take out the trash - it's happened to me more than once. The maintenance staff is pretty friendly and Manuel is cool; he seems like a nice guy, and they usually respond pretty quickly to maintenance requests. I've had some interesting maintenance experiences here though. The good: When my washing machine died, they promptly replaced it with a shiny new one, and I was extremely impressed at their attentiveness. The bad(ish): My dishwasher SUCKS and leaves residue all over my dishes pretty constantly. They tried to fix it, but it didn't really work. The UGLY: MY GARAGE IS CONSTANTLY FULL OF WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is probably the single worst issue I've had here, and believe me, it is a BAD one!! The water table is too high under the complex (so I've been told) so whenever it precipitates even a little, water floods up through the floor of my garage and I end up with a lake to leap over to get to my car. As if that wasn't bad enough, the first winter I parked in my garage, the water coming in RUSTED THE ROTORS of my car!! I had to get a $1500 brake job that Creekside never offered to pay for (one month they gave me $100 off my rent - HA). It's in the terms of the lease that you have to park in your garage, so I follow the lease and it messes up my car! They put in a water pump to pump the water out into the gutter, but it doesn't do squat. I think I've called them approximately 10 million times about the water, and they keep saying they're going to replace the floors in the garages to fix it. 2 years later... nope. Nothing's fixed! To top it off, as others have said, this place was under construction FOREVER and I got to wake up to the blissful sound of jackhammers in the stairwells (other side of the wall from my bedroom) at 7 AM. And LOUD construction workers everywhere who were not considerate of the fact that people lived there. Also...the automatic security gate on the side of the complex is always broken. In fact, they didn't fix it, so they just kept it open constantly for a year. In a "secure" community you need a card to enter. Riight. Coincidentally during the time of the broken gate, there were 3 or 4 break-ins in the complex, which made us all feel just great about the security of our neighborhood. The place used to be managed by JPI, and their staff was really nice (Jessica was the coolest). Now it's Greystar, and the staff I think is all new, and they never pick up the office phone and they're not as nice as the old staff. However...I still like my red accent wall (even though they got paint on the carpet) and the carpet was new when I moved in. You also get 1 free steam cleaning per lease renewal, which they don't tell you when you sign up, so take note. Also, people fill up their garages to the brim with all their crap, and they use the parking spaces outside to park their cars, which is against the lease, and so there is never anywhere for guests to park. They've had one garage inspection since I've moved in, and people just piled all their stuff back in the garage when they were done. There was an activities coordinator for a while who seemed COMPLETELY crazy about community activities, but I think she's gone because there haven't been any lately. Truth be told, the place had more of a community vibe when I moved in and the construction was starting. Now it's just kind of lame and I'm tired of my garage flooding.

Absolutely love it here
We moved in February this year and don't have a single negative thing to say about this place. We love the location, we have not heard a single neighbor making noise, it is dog friendly, parking is never a problem and the maintenance staff are attentive and very quick to act when you have an issue. The office staff are very helpful and friendly. We couldn't ask for anything more!

THEY SUCK!!!
The apartment was under constant construction. Was charged extra for a view of downtown Denver even though a tarp/temporary stairway was blocking my view for over 6 months. Built terrible. Was charge for carpet when I moved out, they have a water damage issue that ruined their carpet and my couch. Sent our check out bill to collection without even contacting me.

Major Mistake
Seemed nice enough on a golf course how ever. There has been construction going on for 2 years and portapotties in the complex close to our apartment has resulted in FECES COVERED TOLIET PAPER that has blown into our apartment TWICE, also several pieces found on our patio, when I called the apartment complex to tell them it was treated as a nuisance to the apartment. The walls are paper thin. Its as though now i feel bad for the people upstairs because I don't even know if they can help sounding like a herd of elephants, i hear most of my neighbors on the bottom floor feel the same way about there upstairs neighbors. The maintance workers are also extremly rude and have entered our apartment while we were sleeping through the patio door, after i heard them out side making fun of how frazzled and scared i was finding a man in my apartment when i was alone with my two kids. The rent includes some utlities which means that your rent goes up and down ever month!! Well not really down. We recieve notices in the mail of the rent amount for that month and it is ALWAYS WRONG, we pay and then recieve a notice we owe $20 more or $60 more. and are threated with late payments. We take the bills in and its always Opps....no sorry no we'll fix this, just the same old responce, this has never happened before. Really why does it happen to us every month. Parking is tough, but the construction workers take up as many real and made up spots as they please. I can't take my kids for a walk around the complex. first because i feel uncomfortable with the amount of construction workers hanging around, second because the sidewalks are never continuous and we end up in the street more often than not behind cars and it is just to hard to keep track of the kids with out having to fear for there saftey at all times.

Move out fees
I recently moved out of Creekside after living there for two years. The amount for rent went up close to 50%. Our lease ended on a Friday, so we moved out the weekend before. My wife and I did the finally cleaning on Monday and turned in our keys - 4 days early. When we received the final settlement charges they charged us fees for late move-out, plus additional rent and utilities. When we approached the office they didn't remember us moving out early. Keep good records of when you move out and take pictures to prove your story. The staff will just try to get extra money out of you if you don't. Living there wasn't anything great. The facility is really lacking parking. Living there in the winter is difficult because they don't shovel well. The sidewalks around the buildings don't drain well, so the water puddles and freezes. My wife and I both fell once while living there. I knew several people in the facility that also fell. Just be careful.

Yet another unpleasant surprise
I simply can not say one positive about Creekside at Highlands Ranch. Constant construction - check. Lousy apartments where you can hear everything - check. Annoying and stereotypical highlands ranch people - check. I've only lived here nine months or so, but I know I'm not going to renew. In fact, even if they gave me free rent I wouldn't here's why. They do these semi-annual apartment invasions where they say they need to change the air filters and the batteries in the smoke detectors and whatever. But I called the manager and kinda tricked them into telling me what they really do - check for pets, for damages to the apartment, and so on. Plus they check your garage to make sure you have a car in it too! The manager said they "take a good look at the place" so if you don't like your privacy and wonder what it was like in ---- germany give Creekside a try!

CONSTANT Construction
We have been living here since the summer, and I am not exaggerating when I say there is loud and obnoxious construction work every single weekday starting before 9am. First they were working on our stairwell for over a month, jackhammering and banging and shaking the walls. Then they moved on to the next stairwell, and it was just as loud. It's now Sept. and I haven't had a quiet day. I moved here before studying for my bar exam because I heard Highlands Ranch was such a quiet place, but this place is NOT. The apartment itself is nice enough, but the construction makes it unbearable.

Not as good as it looks
OK, first let me state three things they won't tell you when they give you the tour: 1: The square footage they quote you INCLUDES the garage! We moved from a 915 sq/ft place to their 1015 sq/ft place, and could not figure out why a lot of our stuff didn't fit. That's the reason. 2: You WILL hear your neighbors! The apartments all have squeaky floors, so unless you live on the top floor, get used to it. Even light walking comes right through. 3: There is only ONE trash receptacle on the grounds! That's right, so unless you live right next to it, you get to walk quite a distance to take out the trash. Playing garbage man is definitely not fun, plus since there is only one, it is always full and totally gross. Now about my experiences living here. The people are just weird, it is totally the land of the aspiring rich. (BMW's but living in an apartment...HELLO!!) They never stop smiling unless you piss them off, then they get really passive aggressive. God help you if you don't like children running around playing in the street. And don't let the gate fool you, you're no more safe. There are side gates that go onto the golf course that are always open. Plus someone who already lived there stole my pool key after I let them in, then apparently threw it in the bottom of the pool after I had it deactivated and paid a $50 fine for a key card that costs a dollar or two. And when we moved in the dishwasher, thermostat, dryer, and air conditioner were all malfunctioning or not functioning at all when we moved in. The washer and dryer, by the way, are tiny and crappy. The only thing redeeming about the apartment are the views, which basically sums up Highlands Raunch entirely. Oh, and the construction is also still ongoing as of the time I write this (June 2009.) And it is NOT any type of enhancements, anyone with any knowledge of construction can tell they are retrofitting for basic structural integrity, and even doing a lousy job at that. Apartments are never made with impeccable quality, but Creekside is remarkably poorer than average.

Wait 6 months!!!
If you are thinking about moving into Creekside at Highlands Ranch my recommendation to you is DO IT LATER probably in about 6 months. (Today is 2-5-09). Right now they have 3 construction crew's going through their whole place. Every morning I wake up at 8:15 to hear them banging away, and its been like that for 4 months. In addition, they leave their trucks and trailers parked in prime parking spots, they're yelling at each other all day long (sometimes foul words), and there's a strong feeling of needing to wear a hard hat in certain areas...they certainly do. If you're reading this review and have been to the apartment and there is no sign of a construction truck, no tarps dangling from balconies or any signs of work then here's the rest of my review, take it as you will: Positives: - The apartment is BEAUTIFUL. - Nice Apartment layouts, the rooms flow really well and make sense, we would have been happy with either that were snow, but opted for the bigger kitchen. - New carpet. - Huge kitchen. - Big Tub. - Lucky enough to have a private entry. (Not all apts do) - Really nice management. They've been quick to answer any questions we had and don't seem to have many stupid policies. When rent was a day late, they were extremely easy to deal with. Also easy transition to new company. - A lot of awesome views, we have one to downtown Denver from our balcony, and saw one with a view of the mountains. - Three lap pool, gym, pc area, and other awesome amenities. - Spacious Garage, able to fit truck and storage (including a large couch we couldn't get up the stairwell). - Easy access to C470, close to good food, theaters, shopping centers etc. without a lot of traffic. Negatives: - Loud! We thought it was just because some early twenty year olds were up stairs at first, we could hear them partying and moving around, but now we have new upstairs neighbors and we still hear them moving almost constantly. It does become white noise mostly - but sometimes its startling. Also because we're on the 2nd story we have 4 garages under us and can hear them going up and down all day. - Frustrating parking. There are times when we will come home and the closest parking spot is on the complete other side of the complex. Its very frustrating. During the day its fine though. Also we use our garage and its spacious and convenient. If you have one car and use the garage this won't be a problem for you... and often not a problem for visitors. - Poor insulation all around, gusty. My desk is right next to my sliding glass door and I can feel a breeze coming through no matter how much wind is outside. I can literally see the light from outside our front door due to poor insulation. This would also cut out the noise. - Commute to a mailbox. Ours isnt too bad, but the closer set of mailboxes aren't where ours is. If I want my mail its a 10 minute walk. - Our tub fixture snapped within 2 months of moving in. You Decide: - The Gate. For me - it doesn't seem like much of a security feature, and more of a hastle. You punch in the code and three cars can get in after you before you close it, sometimes its left open during the day, and sometimes it doesnt work at all for a few weeks, just stays constantly open. My bf likes that you get your own code though, of your chosing, so you have the opportunity of making it really simple for your friends to remember. Also he says its a good way of "pretending security" to help bad guys shy away. I just think its a pain. - Security System. I was told each apt has their own, but I never bothered to learn how it worked or if it even does. - Saturday Brunch, movie nights, etc. These seem to have gone by the wayside. My boyfriend went to one right after we moved in - said it was good and fun - had a pretty good turn out, but they seem to have been abandoned. - They also advertised that the pool was year round - Its not. The hottub however is. - Only one trash compactor. It gets way full, but theres not any strange aromas drifting throughout the whole place. - No assigned parking. Great for visitors, sucky for you on the night that the closest one is across the complex. - Very little grass, hardly any landscaping. Spring is coming and my boyfriend and I feel like we need to drive to a park or trail in order to see nature. I feel bad for people with dogs or kids.

Great staff, Bad buildings.
First, the staff at Creekside is top-notch. But they are not the reason we pay rent. We pay to live. And the apartments are pretty from the outside, but dirty in the inside. I must say that there are NO INSULATION in this apartment. With temperature hovering in 10's at night, cold air easily slips in through the windows and doors. My heater will NOT turn off because the temperature cannot go past 70's. Rooms next to windows are freezing. I am very dissappointed as my gas bill actually went from $15 a month to $150 a month in a small 1 bedroom apt. I have the heat off from 7am to 10pm. The walls are pretty thin, so I can hear the couple next door.

Great Place!
I have lived here from 2007 until now in 2008 when my lease will be up. I have had a great experience. I got in on a really good deal, W/D included, attached garage etc. Management is great and I have never had any issues with them. The pool is nice and not too crazy with kids running around. There isn't a lot of extra parking if you don't have a garage, but it is ok. The only complaint I have is how my rent was increased by $120 because I got in on a very good deal. Just beware that although you may be getting a good deal at the time, it probably won't last until the next renewal time.

Great so far!
Been here most of four months and really like it - great view (I'm in a western-facing unit on the golf course, overlooking the mountains), clubhouse is nice (big outdoor pool, year-round hot tub, and nice fitness center, all 24 hours), full-size washer and dryer in unit, and residents seem pretty nice. <br><br>Location's great, right off 470 and Lucent - takes about an hour to get up to A-Basin/Keystone, about 20 min to Red Rocks, and about 25 min to downtown...most of 45 min to the airport. <br><br>They do a Saturday-morning breakfast thing in the clubhouse for all residents and, contrary to some of these reviews, the management's great - but every apartment on this site has someone griping about something, likely trying to bail early on the lease and getting charged exactly what they signed for. They're very pleasant and really look into things for you and get back to you quickly. (Satellite dishes are allowed here and Dish wouldn't install mine b/c there's no ground wire - management's looking into it right now for me..) <br><br>Residents are mostly in their 30's, I'd say, w/the range being upper 20's to late 60's or so (I'm 28) - the working professional types. Several people have dogs and they have these little stations w/bags for your pooch throughout the property. <br><br>Each unit gets a garage and there seems to be just barely enough parking besides that - the outside spaces are pretty full at the end of the day. <br><br>But I like it - definitely recommended!

Horrible people running community!
I have never had a problem with a community before, but the staff at this complex are horrible. I was verbally put down and completely ignored. I am in the middle of a law suit with the complex which looks as if I am going to win. They will rob you and take your money. Also a report is in to the BBB. Go elsewhere.

I love living here!
I really hope they don't raise my rent too much when my lease renewal comes up in a few months. I really like living here. My apartment is nice and quiet and my neighbors seem nice. Maintenance is always very responsive and friendly.<br><br>The gym could be maintained a little better (broken equipment isn't fixed very quickly), but the pool is nice and the clubhouse is a nice amenity. Parking is sometimes a hassle, but nothing too horrible.<br><br>I love living here and I hope that it doesn't become too expensive soon.

Creekside at HR - Not Worth the Price
All though Creekside is located in nice area - the apartments need to be updated - nice on the outside - so so on the inside. Major bug problems and it seem like management changes often... The look and feel of the apt does not compensate for the price!

loved living here
After living here for a year, we moved out due to finding a cheaper apartment. But the saying is you get what you pay for. Even though we are paying cheaper rent now, we loved living here and would move back in a minute. We did end up owing money after we moved out, but it was for stuff that we didn't have time to clean before we left. They would always fix a problem quickly and everyone in the office was always friendly and ready to help with anything. Would recommend living here to anyone who likes a quiet and secure place to live that is still really close to everything.

New Management is great
Staff has improved huge under new management. They seem to be spending a lot of time and money on improvements. Still some issues with drainage and residents who do not pick up after pets. But I have seen improvements in these areas as well. It looks like there haven't been many complaints lately, but I thought they deserved some good reviews, not just lack of bad ones.
