I lived here for only 6 months and paid to get out of my lease. You have to call on a maintenance issues at least 5 times to get a response...then they don't even fix the problems. I had a hole in my floor the entire time I lived there. Also, roaches. I found one in my apartment almost daily and I am extremely clean! They claimed to come spray for bugs, but the roaches kept coming. Lastly, safety is an issue here. The gate was broken often and I had someone bang at my door and even attempt to get in! I noticed a few days later my porch light was broken and when I told the front office they said maintenance will get to it once they complete all the other "bigger" maintenance problems. Ummm someone just tried to get into my apt ... I really need my porch like to work considering I get home from work when it is dark outside. The staff claims that they maintain the property, but trash is all over people's porches and most of the lights in the complex are burnt out.

This place is the pits. The walls are so thin that I can hear my neighbors alarm clock go off every morning at 6:30am. No need for me to set mine. I know every move that they make bc I can hear them walking and talking over my head all day and night. I hear their 5 year old who thinks he is an acrobat every day. I can hear them walking down the stairs when they leave their apt. So I know when they are home or not. I have complained to mgmt but nothing has every come of it. I have a serious roach problem. I'm from NY and never lived with roaches. I certainly did not plan on having them in GA. Maintenance is pretty good at getting things done although they can be a little forgetful at times and you have to remind them that a job needs to be completed. The people keep to themselves for the most part but just like anyplace else....you always have a few ratchet ones. The apratments are pretty big which is a plus. My 2/2 is over 1200 sq. ft. My lease is up this year and I can't wait to get the hell up outta there. I would not recommend this place. Everyone I have spoken to has said that is has gone down hill.

The first couple months were alright, nothing special but all of the sudden I'm suffering from an ant infestation. For three days I've woken up to my nightstand covered in ants so I tracked the way they got in and it was from the apartment above me, I'm on the ground floor. Staff is also forgetful. When I moved in we had a red stain on the carpet that they said they would send someone to clean it, never showed. Also sent out a notice sheet that they will be in the apartment to look at shower heads and never showed.

DO NOT MOVE HERE
IF YOU MOVE HERE YOU WILL WANT TO RUN WITHIN A WEEK. I have lived here for almost a year and it is the worse apartment complex I have ever lived in. It takes them at least a week to fix anything in the apt.. When you see the apt they have it all fixed and nice to look at, but as soon as you move in everything starts falling apart. My bathroom flooded and it took a week and a half for them to come fix the puddle in my floor. They go through your apartment when your not home... The manager is a -----. If there are complaints against you they don't tell you so you can remedy the problem, instead they just let them build up. The people who work here and live here break all the rules but when it comes down to the residents they ----- and complain. The gate is always broken, very rarely is it working. I've called the courtesy officer.. He never even bother to respond to my call.. So whats the point of that? I've had my apartment broken into( because the gate never works and anyone can come in) because your balcony is open to the public and the windows don't lock right and they collaspe easily. The pool is always nasty and crowded. they lock the pool sometimes where you can't get in even when it is supposed to be open. They never clean the trash compactor so if you drive by with your windows down it smells like death and so does the pool area. They offer good deals to suck you into this trap of hell.i have nothing good to say about this apt the complex or the disrespecting ------ people who work here.. Stay away from Peggy... she's the worse!

Disappointed ...
I can see why no one is recommending this apartment complex. The place obviously needs new management. If you move here be prepared to pay a larger than normal water bill. There are a lot of spanish speaking tenants more than before. Many pile up to live in one apartment. No surprise there! Maintenance does not pick up the garbage, cigarette butts, food and other trash that can be found daily in the stairwells as you walk to and from your apartment. The bedrooms do not have light fixtures nor ceiling fans. There is a light switch but no light in the bedroom. When I asked maangement about it, they stated that I had to provide my own ceiling fan or light fixture and install it myself. Can you believe that? Also, the garden tub in the apartments (a major selling feature) is just for show. There is no way to turn it on because they wont' provide me with the "on" switch. I can attest to loud tenants. Tenants leave there children unattended at the pool so it sounds like a circus outside. The kids are running around yelling and screaming. God forbide if one of them falls into the pool and injures themselves. Lastly, management is very difficult to work with. I can say one good thing: the pool looks well maintained. The bottom line is your money can be better spent elsewhere.

Noisy Neighbors
I have lived her over 2 years; and never have I experienced the noise from neighbors like now. We have gone to the Office several times and were told they sent a letter to the upstairs tenants. These people stomp continuously which causes me to have anxiety attacks. We were told by the asst. mgr to knock on the ceiling with a broom; we do that and they do it more and more. The police has been called and they were very nice; but they can't do anything. The courtesy officer has been called numerous times; he has responded 2-3 times; once within 4 days; and once 3 weeks later, LOL, can you believe it. The tenants who live above us before were 2 single guys and we never heard noise like this. There are 2 adults and 2 teenagers ther now and they are so disrespectful of others. The previous Manager would have probably taken care of this by now; but the new Mgr. does not show any concern.

Everything that glitters isn't gold
The model apartment is beautiful. Unfortunately, that is where it ends. The day we were to move in, they showed us our apartment which was not clean, had permanent glass stains on the island in the kitchen, and the tiles were permanently stained with bleach or some other chemical that turned it yellow. They could not make any promises about replacing the island and tile on the kitchen floor. Instead, they wanted us to sign the lease, move in and wait for an answer from the district manager during the next week. Knowing that after the lease was signed, they would never make the replacements, we decided not to take the apartment and they would not return our deposit. Don't fall for the hustle.

Overall disappointment
1. Security: Gated community where the gate is open at 11:00 pm and closed at noon. The gate arms are broken most of the time, and 2 other cars can sneak in behind the tenant. Police officer lives onsite, but have never seen more than their vehicle.

Have had reports of rapes, vehicle break-ins, and apartment break-ins. If you live here, have your own protection.

2. Parking: Only a problem when the neighbors have too many visitors for their late-night parties (see noise level).

3. Appearance / Upkeep: Nice-looking apartments. No complaints.

4. Management and Office Staff: Started out great. Somewhere along the way the complex was taken over by new management. Employees are nice enough, but policy is very strict. Read your rental agreement very carefully and take it to heart. There will be no deviation for any reason. Staff are wonderfully friendly when dropping off your rent check but make moving out as difficult and expensive as they possibly can.

5. Maintenance: Friendly and fast, though they don't always fix things correctly. Towel bar was fixed promptly, and then just as promptly came off the wall the next day. Problem with carpeting was going to be scheduled, but never was (over a year later). Other repairs have been great.

6. Condition of Unit: Problem with carpet that has never been repaired. Too easy to hear neighbors. A/C units not efficient and insulation insufficient ($150 electric bill in the summer. thermostat set to 80 degrees in a 2 bedroom apt!!)

7. Noise Level: Neighbors are loud as often as possible. Booming car stereos at all hours, including 2am. Late night parties on front porches, loud music from other apartments at 11pm. Not a quiet complex.

8. Overall Rating: Appearance is nice. If that is your only concern, you will love the high ceilings, crown molding and landscaping. If you are concerned about safety or sleeping I would not recommend The Columns at Club to you.

Bad Experience!
If noise bothers you do not move here. It is extremely noisy..Cars drive through the parking lot with music roaring at 2AM (not just on weekends either). I lived in the top unit and there were squirrels in the attic..creepy! The walkways are not well lit..I am a female and did not feel safe when coming home alone at night. Having said all that I still would have recommended this complex had the office staff not tried to rip me off when I moved out. I gave a notice when my lease was ending and signed a month to month lease. When I finally moved management said I did not give proper notice..(it was a month to month lease--duh!) They tried to charge me over $1000 and gave me a bad rental history verification to my future landlord. I had to finally take the issue to Corporate and in the end I was VICTORIOUS! They admitted they made a mistake and finally refunded my deposit. My recommendation is get everything in writing and keep ALL paperwork. There are much nicer apartments in the area for the same price.

Lived here since 2000
This is the most affordable for the quality of living. Maintenance staff very responsive! Convient to freeway and shopping. No need to go downtown with all the conveniences. I have lived here for 4 1/2 yrs. and my building has always been quiet with various neighbors moving in and out over the years.

Not a Luxury Apartment
I'm not sure where one of the reviewers lived but it could not have been here. I lived here for a year and only ONE person in the office ever knew my name and treated me like somebody. Everyone else looked through me. There is a scary pool guy who has tatoos. The maintenance man is nice enough when the office gets him the orders. The gate is ALWAYS BROKEN. The pool is full of kids who don't shower and there are many many handicapped people living here. Not sure if Columns gets some break from the government or what, but if you see vans that say JUST PEOPLE - check them out. Most are kinda sweet and harmless. Others are LOUD. My friend lives across the street from them and they are always fighting and screaming. One of them even bums stuff from you. One gal even came to his apartment looking for food one night. I feel bad for them, but I dont' want to pay $900 a month to deal with that crap. Nice square footage for the buck, but the neighbors stink. Look elsewhere

Too Noisy
I have lived at The Columns for two years, and I am definitely not renewing my lease. When I first moved in, this place was so quiet that I did not even know if I had neighbors around me. Except for hearing my neighbors stomping feet above me ( I will never live below anyone again), the place was pretty quiet. But just recently, it is like this whole complex did a complete 180. I hear booming music from cars passing by every five minutes, or my neighbors who decide to let the whole complex hear their blaring music. I am so disappointed in this complex. I do not feel safe here anymore. Even the police car that used to sit out front is no longer seen. The gate is constantly broken. The only good thing is that maintenance is quick and the office staff friendly. I regret renewing my lease here recently, before this complex started going downhill. But when it is up, I am outta here!!!

LOUD LOUD LOUD
The office staff is nice mostly but They show favoritsm to their favorite clients and don´t charege pet fees and such. But if they do not like you, they charge you - NOT FAIR. The best thing about this place is Barry the maintenence dude. He´s laid back and does his job and does it right. The pool is dirty a lot and one of the other staff has lots of parties there. the hot tub is always broken. the gate never works. I hate that gate. WARNING WARNING WARNING - a group of handicapped people called Just People live all over this place. They are loud, obnoxious, litter all over the place and no one does anything about it because they are receiving special treatment. Talk about reverse discrimenation!!!! The staff can´t tell you they are handicapped but I can, so be warned. Visit the apartment at diff times of the day for 2-3 days before you sign up - you will see their vans and you an´t miss the pepole - they come up to you all the time asking you all sorts of weird questions. They come back from trips in the middle of the night and the people who run the company scream at them. It´s hell. If you want quiet, go somewhere else. Just wanted to warn you. When my lease runs out, I am out of here. Good luck!!!

So Far So Good
I been here for about two and a half months. I really enjoy these apartments because the last apartments we lived in were horrible (Dunleaf Apartments off of Beaver Ruin Rd.)I love the private entrances and the apartments are pretty roomy. I like the mainteance man and the leasing consultants Kelly and Allison. I could care less for the other leasing agent, Margaret. I also lik these apartments because they´re so quiet. I can´t hear anything, except for the kids outside, which I don´t mind that. And we always have a parking lot (a big plus). These apartments also have a place where you can wash your car and a little playground. All in all, this is one of the few apartments that I really like. I will probably stay here until I buy a house.

This is one of the most awful places I have ever lived.
Whatever apartment home you decide to make your place of resident, just make sure it´s not the Columns at club drive. This place has one of the worst management companies operating the community that I have ever seen. I lived in The Columns as a resident for 5 months and I bought out of my least because I never seen such a poor excuse of a management team. I even contacted the corporate office to gain support on some of the issues that I was having, just to find out that they were even worst then the local management team. I am a Mortgage Broker and I was in the middle of having a home built so I took out a 1-year lease agreement. It was one of the most horrible experiences I ever had to live through. I will admit that they have one leasing consultant by the same of Kelly who has done a wonderful job and with out her being apart of there staff they would really be in a world of trouble. every other person in that office should be ashame of themselves for even showing up for work. I really hate to sound like such a negative person but,If I have the opertunity to save any and everyone the stress of dealing with the terrier that I had to encounter while doing business with The Columns at Club drive, It is worth every bit of the effort.

Good Luck

Mr. Unhappy Resident.

Lots of Square footage for the dollar!
We were new Georgia and got really lucky when we met Kelly, our leasing agent. She´s honest and very REAL. She and her manager, Allysin do a superb job of running the office. You can even communicate your needs via email! As things do break,in places that are rented, Barry, the maintenance man will be there in a jiffy and fix things good as new. He´s very able and pays attention to detail. I have to comment on the noise - it´s not a noisy apartment complex. I just happen to live near a lot of developmentally disabled people. That is why I rated the complex noisy. When they are not around, it´s relatively quiet. I´ve never had problems finding a parking space for me or my guests. Overall, it´s been a very nice apartment to live in. There is more square footage in this apartment than most homes I´ve lived in. It´s the next best thing to owning a house.
