Front office
When we first moved here in 2024 the front office was so nice! The lady with the short hair always took care of business & was sweet and professional. When they changed the office staff it went down hill. The two girls that Ive dealt with in the office are not welcoming at all, rude and dont know how to talk to people. They are so unprofessional I have no idea where this company got them from. They are not helpful what so ever.Also the gate is always broken everytime they fix it someone breaks it again. I cant remember the last time I used my key card to get into the complex because its open for months at a time. The valet trash people pick and choose when they want to come yet the office sends multiple emails about charging fees for leaving your trash out but we can never predict when they will actually come or what time. I would t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Believe every single bad review you see!

Apartments should be temporary living, not a bad experience but not a good one either, people let there dogs poop and do not clean it up, it's lots of weed smoking, trash thrown out and not picked up, security gate hasn't worked for months

Horrible community nothing was done when I moved in. The day of move in the guy came to do my son tub, the next day he came back to do the counters and my apartment smelled like straight chemicals for a month and I couldn't use the counters for a month. I was told I'd get a dishwasher because mine was out dated I never got it. I went without heat for almost a month because the maintenance guy kept saying they fixed it when they didn't. I know because I work over night so I'm home during the day. My stove went out and one side works the other doesn't it makes an electric sound like it's about to explode. I was told as long as it still works they don't care.

Great area to move in with shopping stores close by. I honestly don't feel safe all the time with gate always broken. due to being a single female. Gate has been broken for months now with being fixed.

I moved to Houston community because of its beauty and the fact that it is a gated community. My interactions with the previous management team were top notch. They were approachable, easily reachable, and prompt in their responses. Unfortunately, the current management team is far less assessable much more difficult to work with. The gate frequently remains broken in all the years that I've lived here. I've never seen the garbage disposal, not functional to this extent.

This community is quite, the residents stays to themselves and our friendly. Any maintenance issue I have had has been taken care of in a timely matter. It is a safe place to live. I have enjoyed my stay here.

DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU CAN'T AFFORD ANYTHING ELSE! Quality, management, communication, and amenities are horrible - management is ridiculous. New employees every month. Maintenance has been in my unit almost as much as I've been. They never fix things the first time. RUN! Run!

Don't recommend. I have been here 4 months and they still haven't fixed my dish washer and it has my apartment smelling I have called multiple times they do not answer the phone or send maintenance out.

There are small bugs that's crawl around. Breeze ways need to be clean and pressure washed. We pay too much money for the community to look the way it does at times. Officer on duty never around for noise complaints.

Managers are very friendly and answer all questions. Community is quiet and love the apartments. Maintenance is fast at getting things fixed. Love how they do events so you can meet new people and over all get to know your community

Did not complete the move in paper work lot happening move in date. I still can't log into the portal. The cabinets could have been painted better and matching fixtures. Updated gym. Overall 7 out 10. Not a bad complex. Very quiet.

Apartment complex is decent and in a convenient area. The gym is disappointing and hardly useable - wasn't shown what the gym looked like during the tour and after going I see why. Overall not a terrible place to live, but wouldn't want to do more than a 12 month lease.

When we first moved in, I was very impressed with how responsive management was and how well the community was maintained. Everything felt clean, presentable, and cared for. After the recent change in management, there was a noticeable adjustment period, and while I do see things starting to pick back up, I think there's still room for improvement, especially in the 600 building. My main concern is maintenance follow-through. I had reported heating issues last year that were never fully resolved, which unfortunately led to my AC going out this summer. While the team did eventually provide a portable unit and the repair was completed, it only happened after several follow-ups. Proactive maintenance, especially on major systems like HVAC and water heaters, would go a long way toward preventing these kinds of problems. Another area that could use attention is upkeep in the back of the community. The front is always well cared for, but the 600 building has been overlooked. The breezeways and patios haven't been power washed in quite some time, and mold is beginning to accumulate on my patio. I was told this is no longer offered, though it used to be done regularly when we first moved in. I've also raised concerns about snakes on my patio, but I don't recall any action being taken. Overall, I do enjoy living here, the community has a lot of positives and potential. I just hope to see more consistency in how maintenance concerns are handled and equal attention given to all areas of the property, not just the front-facing ones.

The front office is not friendly. Mantenience is lazy. My request almost never get done all the way. The people live around are very dirty. The apartments have so many bugs and different trash all around. Also the gate is constantly broke

I am overall very pleased with the Halston Apartment Complex. The only Issue that we had experienced since we moved in, were with an attempted car break-in several months back. The staff were very professional and assisted us in securing the grounds and parameters to mitigate the issue going forward. All Service requests have been responded to and completed within a timely manner. We receive requested feedback which provides an open dialog to address any possible concerns. All of this makes our residents and enjoyable experience!!

The experience is ok. The entrance gates stay broken and I didn't know until after I move here the complex isn't gated all around in the front entrance. Safety and maintenance upkeep would be great here

For the past 11 years I have little to no problems living here. I have had an enjoyable experience living here. Quiet, not many noisy neighbors. The maintenance department has come on a timely basis to fix any issues I may have had. Office has been kind and friendly to me. I don't bother them they don't bother me

Dissatisfied with the repairs to the dishwasher. Dissatisfied with the cleaning of the breezeway in front of our apartment. the sense of getting a runaround, little action!! Fix the dishwasher!! Now! Please

The commmunication in the leasing office is 2/10. You have to keep calling and calling before you get an answer, if you even get one. You'll have to go up there and they provide you with lots of excuses for your questions.

It's a decent place to live. Lots of issues with the gates, management never answers the phone and are not timely with responses but are quick with late notices and fees. Pools nice, and they are redoing a lot of the amenities Overall I rate it 7/10

My experience hasn't been what I imagined it to be. I come home from work everyday and my home smells like marijuana because the person above constantly smokes inside their apartment and it comes straight down to mine. I have another neighbor who blasts music at 12 and 1am. It's send to be getting better with the new management but my problem is solely with the careless tenants.

My experience here at Halston McDonough hasn't been the greatest. The office staff doesn't follow up on concerns or questions. They respond to certain emails. If you voice your opinion and they don't like it, they take it personally and use it against you.

Communication was one issue new employees gave one price and paperwork issue other than the process was ok but all the cost confusing. But everyone was nice and patient. Move in was good but the gym is outdated and equipment not all works so still broken even though I put in a work order for it washers are too small which causes you to spend more money. And the break in in the area seems to be high a lot of cars broken into and theft it to easy for people who don't live here to get is because the can just walk through we need a gate for people who are walking. No set price for utilities easy to go over and have a higher monthly bill when rent comes but other than that quiet everyone keeps to themselves and the playground should be updated and clean and more toddler friendly and tennis court needs to be updated but when I needed a place this was the best choice for being in a pintch
