Not Worth It

I was first attracted to the place because of the lower rent and larger space. I then realized how outdated the place is. I had to put plastic and sheets over the windows to keep out the cold in the winter and I still got sick. After the first year there was an awful smell that came from the vents (that was never fixed). When the new owners showed up I thought it would be better, but I was wrong. Instead of fixing the apartments they put new concrete walkways in and new paint and carpet in the entryway. I know rent goes up every year, but $30 more after the first year and $20 more after the second was too much for this place.

Safety

The safty is terrible. The manager has NO idea what goes on around the complex.

All in all I'd say this place is a pretty good place to live. Its affordable, the staff are very pleasant and helpful and maintenance is top notch. I would recommend living here. Also, the other tenants here are wonderful people and I enjoy my neighbors. There are some drawbacks however... Parking is very limited and they won't let you park on the street next to your buildings. About 2/3 of the time its not a big problem and you can find a spot, but if you are coming home at night--good luck. Some times the nearest parking spot is far away, yet there are too many handicapped parking spots and spots reserved for potential renters and covered parking. The place is poorly irrigated and when it rains there is a chance you'll be walking in 5 inches of water to get to your car. You can hear people walking in the room above you and you can hear your neighbors TVs. If you want to do your laundry you better have a piggy bank because its all quarters with no change machines on site. Highly inconvenient. For some reason, last month they decided to no longer pick up mail here. Hope this is helpful!

100% better!

Well I must say, I did re-sign my lease, AFTER new managment took over..Sylvia and the office staff are very helpful! I really do like this place alot more now! thumbs up amy & sylvia for making this a better place to live!!! and also the maint. staff!!!

Decline of a once beautiful place.

I have a lot of complaints. 1) The pool has been torn apart. There is no concrete. This would be acceptable, except they literally waited until beginning of May (or end of April) to start, usually only had one person (sometimes two) work on it a day, and it is now end of July. It has not been touched in 3 weeks. All this to add two barbeque pits that can't be shared anyway. No tenant believes it will be done by labor day. I'm sure the owners must be saving money somehow at tenants expense. 2)The fitness center was redone which took over a month and the only result was an addition of one machine (not even new). 3) Last week the tenants were sent notices to remove all plants and barbeques from their balconys. The notice was sent on a Tuesday and ONLY 3 DAYS were allowed to do this. Some complied, some tried to comply, and some did not. It did not matter. If you had anything that looked different than white patio furniture, you were given a notice to comply instantly or surrender the premises in 3 days. Never mind that there are people who working all week or who are elderly. Imagine the weight of a barbeque or medium sized outdoor plant to a 70 year old. Also, you are not allowed to have lamps, bikes,bird feeders, lights, fencing to prevent your pet from falling off the balcony, or any outdoor items to enhance or personalize your patio or balcony. 4) The apartments on the ground level had hedges that have been were only three feet high and provided privacy. They were removed without notice. People came home and found their apartments open and visible to everyone. A couple weeks later they sent notices to these people along with more notices to other apartments that they were starting to do. 5) All the nice flowers and plant life that used to encircle the lake and outer rim of the complex are gone. Tired patches of grass have replaced everything. So the look that used to be there is gone. The management/owners will not let you have nothing on your balcony beyond chairs or small table, no pool all summer or explanation for it, and unfinished construction EVERYWHERE. The management/owners seem to think we are employees, "follow orders or your fired".

Management is horrible!

I tried to rent a apartment there just last month. They ran my credit report and told me that there is more negative than positive credit. I had never had a problem with my credit when moving into an apartment. I came in person to straighten it out, the main manager was supposely to busy to talk to me. So, the other incompetent girl in the front office told me that I had to speak to the corporate office. I called them 3 times and got no response at all! The girls in the front office never checked on me or even tried to help me one bit. If management is this helpless and incompetent before you even rent an apartment, imagine if you have a problem and you actually live there. BEWARE!

Good Apartment

Parking seems to be a big issue, but a lot of that is due to the fact that there is no guest parking. As in, not even one spot. However maintenance is good and gets right on things for you, in my experience, if they can't fix it they replace it, generally the same day. I love having the lake with the ducks. It is very quite and peaceful here most of the time. When I move I will be moving into a larger unit within the complex. I love it so much I don t want to leave. It also has a nice feel to it, not like some places that just feel wrong for some reason. Everyone is pretty nice and I think it's a great place for anyone to live. Everything is also kept very neat and clean here with the gardeners and the people coming around with carts of cleaning supplies and vacuums to clean the hallway, etc.

Old and Outdated

The apartments here are very old and seriously outdated. For the price there are many other apartment complexes in the area which are comparably priced, and offer far more ammenities. There are low income apartments located right next door to these which doesn't allow for much peace of mind when it comes to security. Don't be fooled by the "on the Lake" phrase in the name. It's barely a pond.

Ok first of all Bill, stop writing things on here about how great you are. I just find it a little funny that fabulous things about you keep popping up on here. NEWS FLASH!!! Your not that great. You were in my apartment last week and left a trail of stink! I think the Bill is writing stuff on here to make himself look good. Well you look like a dumb ---!<br>I will say this, Versailles in a great place to live for the money. REX has always been great and the office ladies are nice!<br>But Bill you need to get back to your work and stop writing on here. REX IS THE BOMB!

what a great place to live

I have to say this is one of the if not the nicest place I have ever lived. They got a wonderful maintenance staff. Very nice and helpful, they that the time to explain whats wrong and tell you what its going to take to fix.They try real hard to keep the property looking very nice by picking up trash every <br>morning. The office staff is very polite and <br>responsive. If you have any problems all you <br>have to do is let them know. The apartments are very roomy and affordable I really like it here

The Manager sucks

the manager is very fake, shell tell you shell do this and that for you and yet it stays the same.shes a lier and when she knows shes wrong shell still keep it up.<br>shes a big two faced ----- and everyone here knows it. they dont wanna mess with her because if you get her going she wont stop even if it means kicking you and your family out on the street just because you disagree with her dumb@ss. Rex is a sad maintenance guy he pawns off all the work on this new guy<br>so the new guys not going to be around long<br>even though he seems very good and knowable

there is two maintenance guys both are hard workers in fact they fix your items in<br>at least 24 hours not a week like other places The office girls are very nice and helpful. always do right by everyone here if you got a problem maybe you should go tell them so they can make it right inside of crying to a computer

To the person who wrote dont let them fool you!

First of all I have lived here at Versailles for many years and there are a lot of long term residents here. If its that bad Jack --- then why are they all still here.<br>I am sure you did not pay your rent and now you owe them money and thats why you are complaining. Second, if you drive through Versailles it speaks for it self, a beautiful community. I referred a friend and here and she has to get on a waitlist because they are full. Hmmmmm? Wonder why? Because they are awsome!!!!<br>As for the office staff, GREAT!!! Love the cookies! Always nice and professional!!!

Do not let the name fool you!!!

The name sounded nice, the grounds looked, ok, they suck you in with talk of picnics on the lake and great community. They forget to tell you they have ONE repair person, the manager is a b%@#$, and after you look past the dirty lake, loud neighbors,and flooding storage rooms, you have uncaring yappy Angie, Lesbie, and company, to look forward to. I would give my left leg to get out of here. I can't wait to move.i live on the 3rd floor and have to look at a gross lake day in and out.<br><br><br> Dont let them fool you!!! If the music,police calls and parties don't bother you, the staff will!!

ok place to live

The office staff is wonderful here. Nice and big apartments. Maintenance is the only bad thing about this property. Rex just isnt that good. He dose try to figure things out but he always comes up short.Hes been here for quite a long time and you would think that he knows his stuff but WRONG! as long as your stuff works its great!!

SCAM CITY !!

I just moved out of there this past spring and they tried to rip me off on my deposit return. my apartment was in great shape when we left. Better than when we first moved in. So beware of that if you move out. Make sure you are present when they do the final walk through with you they will try to not have you present but you make sure you are there or they will scam you that way too. They like to charge things to your account that had nothing to do with your apartment. They did that to me and I fought back. Take pics of EVERYTHING before you move out because they will try to scam you out of your deposit. That way you have proof of what needs to be done to the apartment and what doesn't. I agree on the windows they told us that they were going to put new ones in and never did. My daughter last winter was sick all the time ! It was ridiculous. They would not replace anything or fix things. They raised our rent $25-40 A YEAR!! Not recommended. Good luck !!

About the staff...

I just have to say that whoever wrote the last review has to be out of their mind. The manager is great and she always seems to make time to chat or help with a situation we may have. There was a time when my child climb the fence to the pool and got into some trouble but Angie never made me feel as if I was a bad dad. As far as the maintenence staff... they are always professinal with us and do what they say they are going to do. The entire staff seems to work well together and have fun while they work. It is called a team and whoever wrote the previous forum obviousley doesn't know how to be a team member. Usually the ones that complain are the ones that do not pay their rent on time, noisy neighbors, and usually get kicked out. I have lived here many many years and believe me it takes all kinds to make the world go round. I have some scary looking neighbors too but you know what I have looked past that and found that they are some of the nicest people who live here. So if you are a preppy little silver spoon baby maybe you should just go home to your mommy since you obviously need to grow up!!!!!

someone needs to remind the staff we pay their paychecks!

They are really nice when you are looking at the place but once you get in and sign your papers, the staff doesn't give you the time of day. The manager looks down her nose at you when you walk in the office - never saw her smile once since I signed my lease. The maintenance staff is lacking in professionalism. The grounds look bad on the back side of the property. Yes, the halls are hot, and very very long. I like my floor plan. I like the intercom system. I don't like some of my creepy looking neighbors and I can't stand the staff. They are lucky we pay our rent so they can get paid.

can't ask for more

Wow what can I say! You walk in the doors and immediately feel at home. It has a classy feel to it and you feel secure. It is the diamond in the rough. Location is great and the staf... out of this world. I have heard many bad things about Aimco but from what I can see... nothin but quality. Sure the buildings are older but well maintained and the staff is always willing to do what it takes to make sure you are satisfied. I will be renewing my lease in August and can't wait to spend another year here.
