my sister nicole and brother in law steve live there. I have been to visit a few times. The grounds always look nice and the inside of the apartment is very well up kept. If i were to move to fort wayne i would choose this place for sure. I love that they also allows dogs cause you dont find too many places that are dog friendly.

A nice place to live
My daughter Nicole and son in law Steve have lived there for almost a year now. We have been there several times to visit. The grounds are beautiful, including the pond, and are very well maintained. If we were to relocate to the Fort Wayne area, we would definitely consider living in the complex. Its a quiet, comfortable community for all ages.

First Apartment
I have lived at Fountain Lake Apartments for a little over 2 months and I have no complaints. Maintenance is prompt in repairing and maintaining the property. The office is very friendly and answers any questions you may have about the apartment. This is my first apartment on my own and I believe that I made the right choice... my puppy even loves it! We take walks around the pond and I even go fishing. I feel safe in the neighborhood and my neighbors are friendly as well.

A WELCOMING COMMUNITY
I visit these apartments regulary to see a family member. It is her first apartment on her own and it is a very nice place to start off. The area is nice, the people tend to be friendly, and it is close to any shopping area. The price for the area is also reasonable. She also has no complaints about the builiding, office staff, or any neighbors. Overall, I love it.

Casual Living, Nice View, Great Location
I recently returned to the Fort Wayne area and moved into Fountain Lake. Having lived in a couple of poorly managed Apartment Complexes, I understand the value of a good community and good management. We initially decided on Fountain Lake because of the VIP treatment we received from Rachel, the Property Manager, and eventually Amanda, the Leasing Agent. Both of them made us feel like we were truly guests in their homes and responded very, very enthusiastically to our concerns. Now that I have lived here for a while, I can see that our treatment wasn't a one time thing and that there is truly a sense of community here. I've had a couple minor maintenance issues and they've been fixed immediately (within hours) by Darren, the Maintenance guy. The lake in the center of the complex makes our view very relaxing, and the atmosphere is nature-y and well grown in so we enjoy walking our dog through the community. The complex is very pet friendly and many of the neighbors are welcoming and friendly as well. The pool is nice, well maintained, and quiet. Another good thing is that access to both the residences and pool is controlled, so you feel very safe. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, well maintained, and friendly community with supportive management that truly tries to make everyone feel welcome while improving the community, check out Fountain Lake.

sparkling pool some days
I have lived here 7 years. I think the management are young kids who don't know how to run a business. the pool was closed 14 times this season for chemical problems. Why don't they get someone who knows how to maintain a pool?AS far as I'm concerned we are moving out! not signing 8 yr lease. the other managers introduced them selves & had party's for residents. I never get an answer on phone. showing the property ha!The pond is a swamp!!Glad I don't face the pond. It is a sledge hole! They (management ) are not open on Sat. but recording & hours posted on door say they are.The previous managers were way better!!!I also liked it better when AIMCO owned it-better management & maintenance! The maintenance if you need them are on break in their shack!I wouldn't refer anyone here not even a dog if I had one!!! ever since they allow BIG dogs poop everywhere!!!!!

Happy Happy Happy
I have been here one full year and really love my home. I moved here form another state after making arrangements over the phone and looking at photos sent via email. With my fingers crossed, I arrived and discovered that my apartment was indeed as nice as the pictures- the exact pictures of the unit I put my deposit on. Since I've lived here, all the windows have been replaced and new carpeting was installed in the hallways and entrances. It looks really nice. I was never inconvenienced while they did all that either. Even when I had my window put in. I was at work and came home to a pretty, new, energy efficient ENORMOUS window and a vacuumed bedroom. I've had a few maintenance issues as is pretty much normal anyway. My disposal needed to be fixed and when I called and asked for help the guys were there in no time and fixed it right away.I also had a spark from my bathroom outlet when using my hair dryer and when I called the guys were there fast with tools, a new outlet and even paint. They replaced it with a new and safer type and even repainted the tiny spots where they nicked on the wall around the socket(which couldn't be helped). They did a great job and said I needed a safer outlet anyway. As part of a new management, they were making all sorts of necessary upgrades and my bathroom was updated without even needing to ask. I always feel that they care and it is a safe place to live. Most of the time when I call management or maintenance they answer and are available- no answering machine. And, there are plenty of notices and newsletters out every month from the office to keep us informed. I love my view of the little lake and feel like I live in a tree house. The gounds are so pretty and well maintained as well. The pool is great! It's clean with lots of furniture and even changing rooms with showers for both men and women. The flowers all around are nice too. Everything is thoughtfully maintained and managed. The new manager (since last fall) is pleasant and thoughtful. She is always courteous and professional when I stop in the office. I lived in my own home for almost 20 years before moving here and it was a difficult move but I am happy I am here. I trust the management and feel the maintenance people are very qualified and reliable. In the past year I thought I might have to move with my income flexing here and there so I looked at a LOT of other places to live and was always disapointed or even shocked at how NOT like their description they were. A few of them were so bad or just didn't have as much to offer for the same rate. Its' close to lots of things too, like Target for all the great stuff you never really need and I can ride a bike to Kroger. My neighbors are awesome too. It's quiet and comfy. Even the mail man introduced himself to me! So far, so good! I'm looking forward to another year here :)

Just Moved In and Love It!
I just moved in about a month ago and Fountain Lake has everything I could ask for! The neighbors here are so friendly and everyone has been extremely welcoming. The grounds around my complex are wooded and provide a great outdoor-like feeling. As someone familiar with apartment sales myself, I appreciate the value of a good office staff and maintenance team. The team here has been nothing but helpful and checked on me to see if I needed anything along the ENTIRE move in process. Knowing that there is a courtesy officer that lives here also ads value and piece of mind for someone like me who lives alone. Fountain Lakes has friendly neighbors, my dog loves the lake and I love my apartment! I would recommend taking a look at this community for yourself!

Depends What You Are Looking For
I have been living in this apartment complex for almost two years now. The apartments themselves have always been in great condition. I started in a 1 bedroom and now I am in a 2 bedroom. The maintenance guys are probably some of the hardest working guys I know and they do a wonderful job. The issue I have is with the management. I think the apartments are poorly run and there is little to no communication amongst the staff, which means if your issue takes multiple days to resolve; no one knows what your are talking about. If the apartments were run better I would give this place great ratings. The management is sub-standard and I don't see that changing anytime soon

Just rip your own head off if you still consider living here
Not a bad place if you don't mind broken air conditioners, your sink filling with waste from upstairs, and reminding the property manager every other day to get someone to fix it, getting the run around, and getting the eye roll for complaining about said issues. And for $550 a month for a one bedroom you would think they could afford to fix stuff in a timely manner. But the owners are cheap and the managers have always been rude. Don't expect them to try to make you feel like you get your money's worth, their mindset is that you signed the lease so screw what you want just give us your money. I used to help the maintenance crew out with cleaning the pool and putting up the new light fixtures in recently vacated apartments. It wasn't too bad after they got rid of the alcoholic and brought in Darren. He did great work and really tried to get stuff fixed as quickly and soundly as possible. Which was always a trick with a cheap owner and a cowardly property manager that didn't want to ask the owners to spend more money to fix things the right way. But then they got rid of the maintenance supervisor and hired in another short-lived supervisor to take his place. It took that guy two days to replace the fan in my central air unit, not too bad considering it was a unit installed in 1987, but it was horrible considering it was late July and about 100 degrees and sunny both days. He didn't offer to get me any fans or anything. I slept in my car those two days and luckily worked at my other job most of the day those days. Then there was the sink issue. My sink kept backing up with waste water from the upstairs apartments, after about 3 months or complaining and them saying there was nothing they could do and my apartment smelling like chicken grease and mold, they came out and ran a snake down the drain. That bought them about a week before the problem came back. The snaked the drain from various points from my kitchen sink out, from the access pipe in the basement and out, every week for about 2 months. After the first month of that they started telling me they needed to get a plumber out there to run a camera dowit to see what was causing the issue, Darren said it felt like a bent pipe but could be positive until a camera was run down there and could get the ok to tear up the hallway to check it on a whim. After the second month of that they finally informed me that the steps needed to get the ok for a plumber to come out and run the camera had been taken and told me the plumber would be out the next week. The plumber came out a week after the week they told me the plumber would be there. They informed me the day after the plumber was there that it was indeed a bent and cracked pipe that was the cause of the issue. At that point I gave them my 1 month notice that I was moving out. 3 weeks later while I am in the process of moving my stuff out they busted out the jackhammers and the third party contractors and tore up the hallway right next to my door on the side of the main exit. Now, those guys were punctual, every morning at 8 am they would have the jackhammer going or be bashing on the old broken pipe to get it out, for 3 days straight. At the end of every business day they would cover the hole with a cardtable and a caution sign. Very classy. Luckily I was able to move everything out of my apartment through the sliding backdoor. Side note, all the sliding doors are frosted looking due to a build up of some chemical crud between the two panes of glass, but they have plans to replace those in the next couple years. Of course, if one broken pipe takes six months, how long do you think it will take for them to get the ok to replace the approximately 142 sliding patio doors on the property? And parking in the winter,... I hope you like walking from two buildings down to your building if you get home after 8 pm, especially in horribly plowed (if plowed at all) parking lots. Or you could pay for a carport year round, because there are none left to get after october. But seriously, it is a great place to live, if Lucifer isn't looking for any new tenants. I wouldn't recommend this place to ------, but he wouldn't live in this place due to the current ownership, unless it was part of a deal that included them climbing into his oven.

Love it!
I absolutely love living in this apartment complex. We moved here in April 2011 and its been great. We are having a baby, so we got a 2 bedroom. The management is very helpful and nice. We have only encountered one problem so far and its with the mail box. lol. We lost the master key to our mail box/ cluster box and cannot come up with a solution. Management told us to go to the post office and the post office told us to go to management and our mail lady doesn't have any idea what to do either. We know that ICG is the management company, but I do not have any clue as to how to contact them since I cannot find a phone number. Other than that I love the surrounding area and I feel safe here. The balconies are huge and the property is very well maintained and they keep updating the look. There is a mix of age here. Its close to campus so you have a lot of people in college, but then there are lots of older men and women too and so far they seem super nice. Its quiet and you don't have to deal with a bunch of unruly people who don't respect one another. The best thing is that we never have to fight for parking like some other apartment buildings. Knock on wood. lol. We had a bit of a problem with ants getting in once the summer hit and spiders, but they fixed that right away for us and haven't had any problems. Laundry downstairs isn't too bad, but always needing to get quarters from your bank is a bit of a pain. They need a change machine, but they are supposedly getting new machines in and also a card system that you can put money on the card and use that. The price is cheaper than going to a laundromat. I guess its a bump up for us since we had to pay extra for our tiny as heck washer and dryer in our last apartment. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an apartment. The price is not bad at all, especially for the better part of Fort Wayne! :)

Don't waste your time or money!
The office girls have no care or concern for the complex or the renters, more concern for talking on cell phones and being out of the office. When you report problems with your unit, you will always get the same reply we will look into it, and the time never comes, They will patch up problems instead of fixing them correctley. I have never lived in such a rental community that you can see every month the decline in care of the grounds, staff, and overall care of the buildings!

I was 8 months pregnant when we moved in and had my baby while living there. The staff always yelled at me for not answering the door RIGHT AWAY when I was nursing my newborn and had to adjust before running to the door. We always had something lingering outside of our front door, once it was poop and it just sat there for a week and a half. The maintenance would come 3 days late, and the first thing out of the man's mouth was ALWAYS "I don't know how to fix this." Our kitchen floor was literally coming off half of the floor, the carpet was completely soaked on moving day, all the faucets leaked, we were blamed for a lingering pet odor that was left and we even wrote on the tenant sheet the first day. They also left a board with giant nails in it just laying right in our "yard" for about a month. We have a 2 year old that could have easily fallen on it. All of our complaints were ignored.

i would like to say, that it is very nice living out here. i think the ladies in the office are not only beautiful; but they are also polite, & seem very capable of doing continuos good things for this complex. It seems as if most of you need to stick to the subject, looks have nothing to do with managing an apartment complex, ....insults have never swayed a person to give me what i wanted. just makes you look like an idiot. i also believe the maintenance crew is just as awsome. So if you want it better out here, start by picking up your dogs poop, hold a door open for "anyone", throw your trash in the trash, and be kind and kindness will follow. Give them a chance, they havent been here long enough for you to even notice the positive changes that have occured already....holla

Does anyone else agree that with the new management this place is getting ------ again?I read the last comment. I really dont think looks has anything to do with a person's abilities. plus I wouldn't say that the manager is that good looking, take off the pound of make up and she wouldn't be so conceited.

Highly Recommend
I have to be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with the outside when I first came to the visit this community... But I'm SO glad I took the time to take a tour and see what this place is about... The girl that showed me the apartment listened to everything I said I wanted in a home and matched me up with the perfect place. I love my apartment here... I have toured a lot of apartments in the area and this one is without question, the best buy for your money. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone to move here. The staff is always pleasant and attentive to my needs... I have lived several different places, but none compare to here as far as the quality for price and the service...

constant changes...staff is never in the office...not responsive to questions and concerns...not worth the money...more reasonable and better options in fort wayne..beware of the girl in the office-she's more concerned with having cofee with her boyfreind then taking car of the complex problems...

My Review
I have lived here for three months and have had a good experience. I am 23 years old and live by myself. I rented at two other locations while in college, and Fountain Lakes has been my favorite thus far. The grounds are well kept and the buildings look very nice. The interactions I've had with the staff here have always been good. Joe and Rachel responded quickly to any concerns I found with my apartment and the maintenance man did a great job when I needed help. They also did a good job with my parking lot when the snow emergency happened last week. I know there were other apartment complexes who actually plowed people in for a day. I've only met two of my neighbors, but I haven't ran into anyone who was unfriendly during my time here. The only problems I've had with noise are kids screaming in the hallways sometimes, but I think you'll have that anywhere. I also really wish there was a washer and dryer in the one-bedroom apartments. All in all, I would recommend Fountain Lakes to someone looking for a nice community to live in.

4 out of 5 stars
We have lived here for six months, and overall I would say it has been a very good experience. There is a mix of families, college students, and older people, but everyone gets along well. The noise level has not really been a problem, except for some barking dogs, but a fan easily drowns out the noise. (This also might be because we live on the top floor.) Smells can be a problem--I have light asthma and sometimes neighbors' smoking bothers me, but this could be a problem anywhere. The grounds are pretty and well-kept, and I was astounded at the beauty of the buildings. I really like the winding staircases at the front hall of each building. :) Maintenance can be slow. The best thing to do is be persistent. The fact that so many people are living here can be a downside, because the maintenance crew has so many people to attend to. We had a door with lime stains on it, and it took them almost six months to come repair it! I do not blame the apartment entirely for this particular situation, but I feel like there is more they could have done, such as go with a different company for the glass. The staff is much better than I've had at other apartments. They are flexible and will work with your particular situation. They did not charge us for our pets, for example, even though the lease said they could. With all this said, the only reason for us not to renew our lease would be the price. We pay $590 for a two bedroom two bath, which is not bad, but there are better deals out there. The price, the slowness of maintenance, and the recent safety concerns keep me from giving my apartment a 5 star rating. Still, I would recommend it to others.

The Real Deal
This is the real deal right here. GOOD The apartments are nice, no repairs needed yet. The staff is nice, have yet to get to know the new girl but Joe is good. They seem like they care about our safety and the apartment complex as a whole. BAD They beat around the bush on the "armed robbery" issue, which is kinda shady, I really wish they would have told us more. There was a sewage pipe that broke in the basement and I could not get ahold of anyone to fix it, so they need to give out a number where someone can be reached, them, maintenance, somebody that can fix issues. There are also two big black dogs that are in my apartment complex that I have seen viciously bark at many people, including kids, this worries me I do not know the pet policy so that would be nice to know. -these are just a few issues- Overall C (that robbery thing really put a black mark in my mind)

Annoyed....
I generally do not butt my head into things but things have gotten out of control here. I have never seen so much comotion, so I decided to look into it myself. Many of these reviews are TRUE but some are a tiny bit exaggerated. I wanted to give the complex another chance but reading the review belone I am discusted and am going to side with my neighbors. I think it is very tacky for staff members to be writing good reviews for themselves. It is tacky to talk poorly about the manager BEFORE you. From what I saw Sylvia did a very nice job. Also calling your tenants names like BABIES and telling them that the robbery was one of our faults is HORRIFIC. Maybe the name calling should stop and maybe you should take the energy you used writing that to research how to be a educated manager. You just lost a fan. Sorry can't say you didn't do it to yourselves.

Review below me
Why is it that anytime a good review is written that the office staff is blamed for it. The person below me said they "looked into it themselves" and think its tacky that the office is writing good reviews for themselves. Both these reviews are written by me, Braden Hoffman, B306, not an office staff member. What a great job looking into the comotion you did! Everyone is upset about the manager change, which was for the better, people around here just dont like change I suppose... Its barely been more than a couple of weeks, you guys havent even given her a chance yet, shes already done a better job than Sylvia ever has.
