I feel very good in this community, it is calm, safe and clean, a good place to live, any problem in the apartments, the maintenance staff responds on time, I recommend it to live, the administration staff is cordial and friendly

Do not move here! Your water will be turned off every other week for whatever reason the office tells you. Staffing is always changing because no one wants to work here, and the staff they do hire is unprofessional and inexperienced. If you have an issue in your apartment, you are better off fixing it yourself because maintenance is just as good as Youtube University at this point. The fountain view isn't worth it because half the time the fountain doesn't work to the pond is a mess. Don't even try to swim in the pool because it's always closed due to "chemical inbalances". This list of everything wrong can go on for days. But I think this review should help finalize your decision of looking else where to move. Happy apartment hunting!

Overall I can't complain too much because I haven't had a better experience renting, but there have been some problems including flooding in the basement, a horrible smell coming from backed up sewage that I don't expect to go away anytime soon as it's been there for years already but it is not pleasant. The washers and dryers would randomly not work and take quarters. Was very hit and miss for a long time but seems to be fixed now. The pool being unusable 2 summers in a row was upsetting. There has been a lot of switches in management and maintenance people which is chaotic but it happens. There have been many very loud and rude residents blasting music and no amount of complaints given has done anything to remedy it but that's apartment living for you I suppose. Overall I have been good with this place, otherwise I wouldn't keep renewing the lease. The good has outweighed the bad.

Soon as I moved in there was shorty a big storm so i had leaks in my living, bedroom, and vents. Everything was fine after that till we had no heat and electricity. Fixed but besides that. Pretty good

I love my neighbors! If you're looking for a quieter, easy-going community, this is a great place to look. It is an older community with less fuss & more friendliness. As for everything else, the staff is working through some things on the management side. Hopefully when that is done, we will see better care to the community and to the tenants alike. My apartment gets fixed when needed, but is always left a mess afterwards or unfinished.

At first I loved living here. As time has gone on, I feel that this place has gone down hill. The maintenance team is not as knowledgeable as they should be. The pool is the only amenity they offer and that is never open. The basement reaks of mold. These paused to be one of the best in Fort Wayne and it is sad to see where they are now.

I moved here may 1st. I'm being charged for an updated apartment, it looks nice fresh and clean. Problem s are as follows, first my electric kept going out in the kitchen someone came ...nothing fixed about 2 weeks later had to cuss out the manager d/t being told I'd have to wait because they have other work to do and they are not sending a maintenance worker over...after that someone came fixed it...used my dishwasher electric out again...they had to call an electrician he fixed it than the other electric went out. My updated kitchen still has not been completed, per the management they will have someone her in two weeks..almost 3 months ago, still not done. On the deck the boards are not connected to the frame, it is not safe to use..."oh we will get someone soon" yet I pay nothing less for rent. Now nothing can get fixed but i get a txt while at work that if I don't pay with the portal I will be charged late fee because they have holiday...yup the portal isn't working this place is a joke ...

I would never rent from this place ever again. Their maintenance takes a long time respond to issues. There's never enough parking at this place and I have to walk a long way from my car to my apartment.

Management has been a breeze to work with since before moving in. Any problems or concerns that have occurred, they are quick to address and try to eliminate the issue. For forgetful people like me, they issue courteous calls for tenants who are a day late instead of allowing us to continue to collect late fees. I love living here and have no complaints at all :) my building is quiet, neighbors are decent. I dread the day I have to move out.

Decent place to live, lovely view, secure doors, dogs & cats allowed, elevator, washer/dryer in basement, extra storage (in basement). With that said, basement not the best environment. Smelly hallways/elevator. Can smell weed often in hallways. Occasional noise neighbor, but office does a good job of taking care of that. Dedicated curtious officer who office encourages tentants reach out to regarding any concerns, noise, drugs, etc. Rent goes up by 5% every year, not great for anyone considering long term residency. And, yearly leases encouraged by financial savings. Month to month extra $100/mo, 6 month lease extra $50/mo after 1 year commitment. Overall average better then some other apartment complexes, but homeownership should be one's long-term goal when staying here longer than a few years, unless Fountain Lake really steps up their game.

The apartment complex can be nice sometimes. I like the staff and their responsiveness to our needs. I don't necessarily like all the problems I have encountered here, such as my ceiling falling down in February and my refrigerator dripping water and freezing all our food for months even after we told the staff that it wasn't just the temperature that was the problem. The people around us are mostly friendly but there are a few weird and invasive people and some people do have pitbulls even though you're not supposed to. I wish pet rent wasn't monthly also.

I like the comfort and privacy of my third floor apartment with the balcony facing the woods. Layout is just right for my needs and second bedroom is my home office. Security is good and it is quiet there

It's only been less than a month and no major issues. The apartment I'm in is outdated and doesn't match the pictures online. I like the layout of the apartment. The living and dining rooms are a good size, but the kitchen and bathroom is pretty small.

Great place when we first moved in 2 years ago but it changed for the worse when they got new management last year. I would never recommend anyone to live here again (i recommended a friend and he moved in and even said he's moving when his lease is up because the management sucks). But they're old apartments and stuff breaks constantly. Maintenance is quick but never fixes, just puts on bandaids til it breaks again in 2 days. Hallways are filthy and smell like cigarettes. People smoke weed in there all the time and no one will do anything about it. Walls are thin. Cops are called all the time because of the questionable people living there. Pool is disgusting and not cleaned and properly treated. Just overall gross. BUT here's the best part! We signed a lease at a new place and we tried to call the office (30+ days in advance before our move out date) and left several messages asking what the process was to give our notice to vacate. Never heard back and we both worked full time and the office was only open 9-5, the hours of our jobs, so we could never go into the office. Finally talked to someone (Ashley i think?) in the office a couple weeks before we moved out and told us we were all good and just needed to leave our keys at the office once we moved out and nothing else was needed from us. Perfect! But wait! ONE WEEK before we were moving out we get a call from the lovely property manager saying they never received a notice from us and asked if we were renewing our lease.....??!!!!! We tried calling back 4 times that same day, no answer or call back. Tried the next day, using my 1 fifteen minute break at work to call, and nothing. She called back the day after that stating how we never called and never gave a notice so now we would have to pay ANOTHER full month of rent if we're moving and didn't give a notice.. We have proof and recordings (my boyfriends work phone records all conversations so he had his voicemails recorded) of AT LEAST 10 voicemails and attempts we left and she kept calling us liars, saying they don't have any voicemails from us or missed calls. Even tho we literally have proof of MULTIPLE voicemails. Like actual recordings but she said we never called. How nice!! So we tried calling a couple days in a row to discuss this out to see what we need to do and we explained ourselves, still no pick up and left another voicemail. So the DAY before we moved out we had a lovely passive aggressive letter from the manger on our door saying we had to pay them or they were sending us to collections. This was the end of July. WE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL THIS WEEK, IN NOVEMBER!!! from a collections agency in Texas saying we owe $790 which is WAY more than a month of rent. The collector even said herself she felt bad for us and understood us because even she couldn't get a call back from the property manager! Just makes me laugh now because this "business" is a joke and i hope none of those people have jobs for much longer. SO long story short, if you don't wanna be scammed and don't wanna be called liars by an unprofessional, rude "management" team, THEN DO NOT LIVE HERE. Also we didn't get a dime of our deposits back either even tho we spent 2 days cleaning it and made the apartment look exactly how we got it when we moved into it. But what did we expect!! YIKES!

I have lived here for a couple years and love Fountain Lake! It feels like living far out in nature, but yet so close to all area attractions. Well kept also.

I just renewed my lease for another year at Fountain Lake! I looked at other places, but it is hard to find any apartment comparable to the amount of space you get for the price. Also, anytime the staff sees me at the community, they know me by name and always ask if there is anything they can do for me. This really is home.

I really like living here. I was hesitant at first because the laundry is in the basement, but it is nice because there are elevators that get you to every floor and the basement. There is a pop machine down there ans also a cart so I can get my laundry to and from my apartment more easily. I appreciate that those little things have been thought about.

Fountain Lake has been my home since 2014. I distinctly remember the Manager showing me an apartment and explaining how she likes people to feel at home and taken care of by the staff. That is exactly how I have felt. Jentri, MJ, Maintenance - all of the employees have made me feel right at home. I moved here to go to school and have never lived away from home. My mom liked the fact that no one can come to my apartment without me buzzing them in. That gives my mom comfort and I feel safe. I love the lake and the fountains. It's peaceful to sit on my balcony while I study on a nice day. I felt compelled to write this because friends of mine have told me terrible stories about where they live. I feel fortunate that I've found such a great place! I would highly recommend Fountain Lake!!

I have lived at Fountain Lake for 3 years. The entire staff makes me feel at home. Always willing to sign for packages when I'm not home. I have a cookie every time I come in to pick up a package and they have it ready for me. As winter approaches, I have no worries about shoveling snow. They do a great job. I'm looking forward to the Christmas open house and cookie exchange. It has been, and continues to be, a great place to live.

I loved living at Fountain Lake. The apartments are so nice and maintenance was always available if there was a problem. I loved how there was limited access to the apartments to outsiders. The staff was always pleasant and I enjoyed calling Fountain Lake home. I would recommend Fountain Lake to anyone!

We have lived here for two years and are about to renew for a third (longer than we've stayed anywhere else). While the prices seem a smidge higher than other complexes in the area, we've been very happy here. The complex was built in the 1960s, but it has been well-kept (unlike a lot of other complexes around here), and the staff has always been very friendly and accommodating to us. I've seen comments here about the staff being unhelpful, but as long as you are kind and a good resident, the staff are absolutely wonderful--at least that's our experience. The location is great for college students, and the area is generally quiet--a major plus for those of us who work and go to school! Dogs and cats are allowed, which is great, and overall I feel much more safe here than at the other complexes we've lived. It would be nice if the laundry facilities in each building were cheaper ($2.75 per load to wash and dry) and perhaps renovated, because the dryers often don't get the job completely done in one cycle, so you have to spend another $1.25 to dry unless you hang dry in your apartment. Downsides would be that neighbors can sometimes get noisy (but they have to be extremely loud to hear them), and sometimes people will park in your carport that you pay for. Geese love the little pond, but if you live in Indiana you should be used to them. And we aren't a fan that now there's a flat rate for water, because it was a little higher than what we were paying as an individual unit. We've really enjoyed living here because it's quiet and a great location, and the apartments are well kept. Some complexes will only keep the model apartments maintained well, but Fountain Lake keeps ALL apartments maintained well.
